Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts I & II
That's right, Its coming out THIS November. Finially the movies will be concluding...or is that a bad thing?
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be the final two films of the Harry Potter film series, based on the seventh book by J. K. Rowling. Due to the length of the story and a desire by the filmmakers to be more faithful to the novel, it will be split into two parts:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I is the first film, covering the story from the beginning to the trio's capture by Snatchers.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is the second film, covering the story from the Skirmish at Malfoy Manor to the Epilogue.
A two-part film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is planned. The film is to be split in two, with David Yates, who directed the preceding two films, directing both parts. The first part will be released in November 2010, and the second in July 2011. The films will be shot back-to-back, and treated as if it were one film. The idea to split the films had been around since the middle of 2007, but only really came into serious consideration after producer David Heyman was able to talk to writer Steve Kloves when the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike ended and Heyman had Rowling's approval. As of April 2009, Kloves is working on the script of second part.
Before David Yates was officially chosen to direct the film, others had expressed an interest in the job. Alfonso Cuarón, director of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, had said that he would be "tempted" to return to direct.Guillermo del Toro, who passed on Prisoner of Azkaban, had expressed interest in directing Deathly Hallows, but an increased workload ruled him out of the project.
Heyman noted that the films will be a closer recreation of the books than the previous films because of the length a two-part adaptation entails.Daniel Radcliffe said: "This is a road movie, particularly in Part One of the film. People have been so used to seeing Harry Potter at Hogwarts and we're just not there for the first part of the film. That seems to have really freshened things up, and hopefully will get people seeing the films with fresh eyes again, because its just a totally different look when you're not just sat in the same room the whole time."
Although Yates had retained composer Nicholas Hooper for Half-Blood Prince, John Williams (who composed the scores to the first three films) had expressed interest in returning to score the film - however he did not state which part he would be contributing to. In January 2010 Alexandre Desplat, a french composer, was confirmed to produce the score for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I.
Yates and Heyman have noted that some of the events of this film had an effect on the way the sixth film was written.
The first part of Deathly Hallows will end as the trio are captured by the Snatchers, the second part of film begins as they arrive at the Malfoy Manor.
Daniel Radcliffe pretended to scare the fans when he said "There will be two films for Hallows, and if there isn't, I'm not returning to play Harry Potter."
The reason for two parts or films as David Heyman has stated is so there will be no major cuts in characters and scenes. This allows the adaptation to be more in depth than the other six films. It has been announced that these parts will be in 3-D in theaters after the success of Avatar.
On March 12, 2008, Warner Bros. confirmed that the movie would be split into two, to do justice to the book.David Yates, director of Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince will return to direct and Steve Kloves is going to write the screenplay. According to Warner Bros. executive Alan F. Horn it will allow "an extra hour and a half to celebrate what this franchise has been and do justice to all the words and ideas in the amazing story." Heyman described the workings behind the split: "Deathly Hallows is so rich, the story so dense and there is so much that is resolved that, after discussing it with Rowling, we came to the conclusion that two parts were needed." Due to the WGA strike, Kloves was not able to start work on the script until it ended.

The last one was in 3D too, I saw it in IMAX.
Should be sweet, I'm excited. Sadly I probably won't be able to see it right away as I'll be living in England in November and probably won't be able to get away from school.

It twas indeed, though there was something wrong with it so we kept seeing two of each character, you had to keep your left eye closed to be able to see it properly, so like 25 minutes into the movie the "Take Glasses Off" symbol flashed on the screen and you could see a lens slide across the screen, then it was just a regular movie. It was a little disappointing, but it was better than only being able to watch with one eye.

I convinced my sister that Harry dies in the end. She believed me even though both my brothers and my mom told her that he lived. The way I did it was by reading her The Forest Again. At least I think that's what the chapter was called.

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts I & II
lol I kind of agree with you, Curfew, but not about Harry. Just the actor. Daniel Radcliffe is such a creeper. At first he was adorable and everyone was like "awww, look at the cute little 12-year-old" and as he aged it was okay at first, maybe started sliding a little. And then the Fifth movie came out and BAM creepy. And that was, of course, also due in part to the Equis thing...
Hopefully these movies are better than the fifth and sixth (disliked both greatly). I mean, there are two of them, so they shouldn't have to cut much out, right?
Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts I & II
Oh good graces, the sixth one was like, the worst one they've done. They didn't even take a moment to explain the "Half Blood Prince" thing! Grrrr.....*Rolls eyes* they cut out way too much, and put in waaaaaay too much humour (Was that what they called it) and too much suggestiveness. Ugh...we get it. They're teens, that doesn't mean that every second of the film should be filled with snogging and "Oh I love you now! No wait, I love her! No her!" >: It's so annoying....Right now I'm just hoping that, of all the things they can cut, they take out Rons' toilet tongue when he's leaving. -_-

Yeah, it'll be sad that it's over. But I do think they're going to milk it for all it's worth. I'll bet anyone a million that, right after the release of 8, they're going to put out "Special" versions of all the others XP

Who's your favourite character in HP?
Oh and, how d'you suppose they're going to manage the epilogue? Seeing as how Harry will have to be at least...*Counts* eleven or more years older, so they'll have to age him a bit for that. It's so weird...I thought they would leave that out for sure, but then they'd have to find another way to end it if they did. Gah, so confusing! ^?^

I agree with you guys that were saying Harry Potter films 5+6 weren't very good and missed to much out But really what did you expect lol, the Harry Potter films always either missed out or edited important scenes in the books although it should have been expected to happen in Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince (more so than the rest) because they're the 2 longest Harry Potter books
On another note. Am I the only 1 who thinks Emma Watson is looking beautiful in them trailers xD

I know, but I still found those two, more than the others, to be almost fail the way they were done. Six more than five, it tried to be something it wasn't, and put in far too much of the romantic aspect for the serious moments to be taken seriously. -_- it was almost sad, how badly it was done....but I'm hoping the seventh will be much better ^?^

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts I & II
i agree with that the 6th film did have way to many kissing/ romance scenes lool which was sickening, furthermore the aftermath of Dumbledore's death was appalling they seemed to play down his death like it wasn't of any importance they should have at least put in his funeral. At least they incorporated some parts of the novel to the film. Unlike Eragon

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts I & II
Exactly, and the whole wand thing when he died was like a Michal Jackson concert! My mom even opened her cell phone and held it up lol XD But actually, I'd prefer to watch Eragon over Harry Six any day, at least the Eragon film, though untrue to the books, had SOMETHING to look at rather than just watching everyone act OOC and like little stereotypocal teens falling over each other and snogging nonstop while blatantly ignoring all plotline until they have to acknowladge what's really going on, and doso poorly. Blehhhhh...the final two had better turn out well enough, I'm mostly just glad Harry's a tiny touch cute again in this one. (Plus watching Voldemort do ANYTHING is exciting enough. I love his voice)
I'm really hoping that the three-D one is good, and that they've got decent 3-D glasses this time ^?^ Last time I went to a three-D film I couldn't tell until halfway through, but I think it should be better this time around ^?^

actually ive noticed that she beomes more beautiful throughout the series, i thought i was the only one who noticed. and of course the movies are edited. i am sad they downplayed dumbledore's death but they had so much to focus on, i think with the beginning of the next movie theyll have the fneral and focus on it then

Most Likely.
I also think there was a bit of downplay on sections of the horcruxes. Some of it was pretty good, but some of it could have been better.

yeah i noticed that too. but i also think that if i remember correctly dumby told him about the orcruxes, but they really arent explained till they go see slug or whatever. that old teacher that tought voldy about them. then he really explains it and they are discussed more in depth in the next moive. in the next two movies there will be alot more detail and action to cover.

Go right ahead!! It would be less painful than what I had in mind...
*pictures locking him in a room with sharp tools where he is duck taped to a chair and little kids are experimenting on him.*
Yes, you may have him. Because Gotren and Yrefet would kill him off too fast.
BOT, I hope they don't downplay the ending, and include the "## Years Later" part.

YOu don't understand how Voldy dies? It's simple! When Malfoy disarms Dumbledore, he becomes the master of the Elder Wand. Harry later overpowered Malfoy at Malfoy Manor and took his wand. Harry then became the master of the Elder Wand. The Elder wand would not turn against his master so it couldn't kill Harry. The curse rebounded and hit Voldemort. Ding dong, the wicked wizard is dead.
On another note, SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I's get to go and watch it when it comes out at midnight! I got my dad to do it and my whole family is going to go! It's going to be epic!

I'm getting excited...less than a month to go! *Does dance*
It looks really awesome. Shame part one isn't in 3D
Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts I & II
You remember in the books when Ron's supercalimagiclisticexpectopatronus mad at the lot of them and the world in general (LIKE HE ALLLLWWAAAYS DOES WHEN THINGS GET HARD! THE LOUSY SOT OF A NERF HERDING "FRIEND"!!! *Chokes him*) welllllll he sort of said the "F" word right at those points, except they spelled it so he was saying "Effin'" which I thought was annoying. J.K. is an idiot. A bleedin' idiot. I mean, why write the first few books and make them geared toward younger audiances when at some point you plan on throwing around nasty stuff like that. She has NO brain whatsoever. I don't care that the kids who would originally be reading the books would be small and be the right age to deal with it every year when the new book comes out, now the books are all out and some little eleven year old is going to love book one and get a disgusting shock when they get to four and five and onwards. It's not fair. J.K. Rowling needs to be keel-hauled....*Mumbles to self about what an idiot she is*
But yeah, we're going to see it on the day it comes out as well XP YAAAAY! Except...it's right after the trip to the eye-doctor...and the eye-drops....ooooookaaaaay...lol ^?^

Well.... when the books were first written, the audience gets older as the books go on. I was 10 when the last book came out and after having lived with brothers for my whole life, bad language (while I don't use it) doesn't bother me.
Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts I & II
*Grumbles to self* I'm still annoyed with her, and I'm throwing Wake at the screen if Ron even THINKS about saying that in the film....grrrr...
XD HOWEVER, I'm excited about the firefirefire scene in the room of requirment EPICNESS! HOW good was that? Super fantastic! ^?^

Ah! I saw it on Friday! And I LOVED it! Compared to the other movies, it was amazing! Sooooo much better than the 3rd through 6th (the 5th and 6th were absolutely horrible) but Deathly Hallows Part 1 was wonderful! I don't know if I liked it better than the 1st and 2nd, but it included more from the books than any of the other movies. I'm so glad it's in two parts, that makes it so much better. However, I feel bad for anyone who only watches the movies and doesn't read the books, as they might be a little upset by the ending of this one. Maybe. lol.

lol well obviously shame on them. Heheheh. And of course there are a couple things I would have liked them to put in the movie that were in the book, but not nearly as many as there were for the earlier movies (they missed huge things!). I want to see it again, though. It was a good movie. And the cliffhanger was good, yes.

I saw it Nov. 21 in the I-Max. I loved it. I really like that part at the beginning when they show Hermione modifying her parents' memories. I almost choked myself at the part when Harry dives to get the sword and Ron saves him. My friend was there, and she kept making me laugh.

"Dobby never meant to kill!!! Only to maim. Or seriously injure." God, I love Dobby. You know, the only thing I wasn't pleased with was the Regulus/Kreacher part. They could have done a better job of explaining it. But the Charity Burbage scene in the beginning was really cool. I jumped when they did that part where they zoom in on the sanke. That would have been FANTASTIC in 3-D.

Dobby is my hero because of that movie lol. I liked it a lot, I do think they rushed the beginning, but that does make since they had to because it was so long and they wanted to focus on the more important stuff. I like the ending the most

That would have to be my favorite line in any of the movies. And now I'm wondering why it's not already in my siggy.
When exactly does the next one come out? Somebody said June, but I'm really hoping they don't make us wait that long.

Now I'm really sad.
Why on earth do they have to make us wait so long? There's no way it's to boost ticket sales, they'd be off the charts no matter when they release the movie.

It was really good though they could have made some of the events better. Like the epic flight from the Aunts and uncles house...I mean coming on...they were supposed to CRASH into the pond...

I've never seen a movie in IMAX... What's it like, I understand it costs more?
Yup, I'll definitely be seeing part 2 when it comes out. Why the wait, probably marketing and such, doesn't make sense to release them right next to each other. Like Lord of the Rings, Twilight, etc.
Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Parts I & II
The imax is a tricky business, Frodo. It can sweep you up and, if you don't keep your feet...oh never mind I forgot the quote....Meh...anyways, the Imax would be a lovely place to see the film! NOTHING beats action in the Imax lol, onetime me and Katie were in the imax and were watcing this weird movie about various inside things (Brain, heart, lungs, the like) and it was funny because when they were jumping off buildings I'd look and Katie wouldn't, then when they were showing inard stuff I'd look away and Katie would watch lol ^;^
But Harry Potter would PWN in Imax ^;^

And did y'all notice the music at the start sounded like a musicbox that was coming to the end?

Are you sure you actually watched the movie? 'Cause the whole reason it's 2 parts is because they wanted to put everything in. Which they did.

It's like with all films, they miss something out and they change things. I like a movie which is just like the book it's based on, like The Lord of the Rings.

And I say again, are you sure you watched the movie? They only added in a few things, and everything from the 1st half of the book was in it.
