Personality: Aregan has plenty of different sides to him. At many times he is careless, generous, happy, or moody, sometimes each on certain days. He got his temper from hard training, so he has a short fuse. He likes to be physical at times, mostly participating in events whenever he feels like it. A lot of the time some would call him an "Average Joe", but he has different thoughts about things. He likes to work alone on assingments or missions he receives. He is not a very shy person, sometimes intimidating. Mostly hes very straightforward, he gets down to the point quickly. He'll only carry out long conversations if he really thinks it will be worth it. Going back to the physical part, he likes to keep his health up. Tends to prefer colder, hilly places as more of a challenge. He also loves to practice his fighting skills. Whether it be archery, magic, but mainly swordsmanship. When it comes to any of these he is VERY determined, this is when he can be at his moodiest. When it comes to battle he knows how to think and react quickly, he is ready to sacrifice himself for his fellow man.

History: Born into a somewhat soft world in a forgotten region of the Beors. At age 10 he began to train as a warrior, a true fighter. He continued this for as long as he has lived. Raethyn was about the same as he was at age thiry-four, his current age. His life was not without tragedy however.

He had heard of the tyrant king Galbatorix and the story of his rise. At twenty he sought out the Varden...unsuccessful for three years. On the fourth he was found, starving, by a scout for the Varden. After a trial he was admitted in. Aregan was usually out challenging the empire, he quickly rose through the vardens ranks.

After a while he went to visit his two brothers, but he was followed. Galbatorix had heard of Aregan's exploits, and sent a squad to track him down. When he arrived, his village was ambushed. Knocked unconcious, he was unable to defend the few who dwelled there. When he awoke most everyone was dead, except his brothers, the location was unknown to any of the survivors. He ran through the forrest, wearing only his leather and mail armor with a very mysterious and ancient sword found by Aregan on a strange, island. The sword was half buried in ice in a frozen region. his chase was unsuccessful, leaving him nothing but a blazing hatred.

After returning to the Varden, he once again began his training, but increasing the rate at which he learned magic, hoping to make the full extend of his weapon, and his skills to fight, and find. The only task in his mind, was to find his brothers.

He found numerous leads, leading him all over Alagaesia. Cities he had long forgotten gave him ideas and different leads, like Teirm, Feinster, but maily Dras-Leona. He encountered magics far better than he thought could be possible, then he remembered the elves.

For years he sought their help in Ellesmera, knowing that he needed much more powerful spells to find his brothers through such a mass of empire magicians. He trained for around two years before he became impatient and set out on his quest once more. Ever since leaving Dras-Leona for Ellesmera he had found nothing. He decided to retire back to the Varden to do whatever he could in future battles, or an assingments he was givin, but still hoping to find his brothers...or whats left of them.


Weapons: A mysterious sword he found while exploring, and training in frozen wastes. He stumbled across a sword half buried in the ice. When he pulled it out, runes in the ancient language said Anguendal

Physical Description: Aregan is about 6 ft. tall. He looks very fit, and strong. Has normal human ears, nose isnt very big, or small, something like medium. Doesnt have very long hair, up to his brows and ears. Has average sized hands and feet. He has a few scars from close calls in battle, and serious wounds hes had in the past, most of them are under the arm and torso part of his armor, most others have be healed.

Dreams: He mostly dreams of becoming a rider. But he also hopes to find his two long lost brothers.

Reason for Dreams: He feels that becoming a rider will provide him the greatest relationship to fill a void in his life, making him feel better about everything. Also, that this will only increase his prowess, and become his salvation to finding his brothers and bringing down the empire. For his brothers, they are all the family he hopes he still has left, and Aregan is not ready to let that go.
