Chapter 1- Unlikely Friends

The rain lashed down hard on Tahlonna as he rode over the last stretch of the plains and into the shelter of The Great Forest. The Great Forest was situated on the eastern border of the land known as Ilgedine, and spread for many miles up the coast. Tahlonna got down off of his horse and shook his hair dry, the tips of his ears stook out of his hair slightly so he placed his leather cap back on.
His leather jerkin glistened with rain as he took his bow and notched an arrow, he examined the floor around him and soon found what he was looking for, a pair of tracks quite fresh. Tahlonna followed the tracks for a few minutes, when at last he found what he’d been following; he raised his bow and looked down the shaft of the arrow. When his sight was aligned he let the arrow loose, it flew through the air and hit the prey with a dull thud. The deer fell to the floor breathing heavily, Tahlonna approached it and placed a gentle hand on its neck, its heavy gaze met his and he lent close to its ear and whispered in a calm voice “Go freely, you were a worthy hunt” With that the deer slumped into an eternal sleep never to be woken again.
Tahlonna attached his bow back to the horses harness and unsheathed his hunting knife; he knelt down beside the deer and began skinning it. When he had finished skinning it, it was getting cold and dark so he built up a fire and lit it, on top of the fire he placed a large pot with water in it to boil. He then went back to cutting up the meat and soon he had fresh strips of meat, some of them he wrapped up and placed into his saddlebag. The rest of the meat he placed in the pot with some herbs and vegetables and soon had a stew slowly cooking.
Tahlonna sat down next to the fire and served up the stew. He had soon finished his meal and washed up, so he was sat by the fire with his horse lying next to him. His thoughts strayed to memories from many years before of battles long forgotten and as he remembered them, he fell into an uneasy sleep
He woke up next morning with a cold sweat over his face and his heart beating quickly. He rose and walked towards the river rushing at the edge of the forest, when he arrived at the edge of the river he crouched down over the water and splashed his face with the cool liquid. The sound of a branch cracking a way off suddenly caught his senses; he got up again and went back to his possessions.
**********
The young man was aware that the branch he snapped had alerted the man he was following but he went on anyway. He had been following the man for many days from a small village by Uteh Lake; the man had stolen one of his horses out of his stable. He didn’t even know who the man was but he had been following his tracks to The Great Forest. The young mans name was Baluren; he was a stable boy, who sold horses to travellers. He was average height but quite strong for his age, he heard a noise in front of him and placed his hand on the hilt of his sword ready if there was an attack.
“Looking for something?” The voice was elegant and calm.
“Yes, you stole one of my horses.” Baluren replied
“Can you be sure it was me?” The same voice spoke except this time it came from behind him as though the man had moved silently moved around him.
“Yes, I have been tracking you from my village”
“Tell me, what is your name stable boy?”
“My name is Baluren”
“You are either very brave or very stupid Baluren, tracking an unknown person into the wilderness”
“Show yourself!”
“As you wish” As he said this Tahlonna stepped out from the trees and approched Baluren. He stopped a few feet away from Baluren and glanced at his right hand. “Are you expecting a fight?” he asked Baluren.
“Only if you don’t cooperate,” The young man answered
“What do you want me to do? And then I will decide wether I will cooperate or not.”
Baluren got down off his horse and walked a few steps forward. “Well” he said, “first of all I would like my horse back and secondly by law, you owe me a fine.”
“I’m afraid I cannot cooperate with that”
“Then choose your weapon”
Baluren turned around and unfastened his sword and shield, but Tahlonna walked through the bushes and returned with a small knife barely an inch long. Baluren laughed. “A knife, you think you can win with a knife?”
“No I’m not using the knife.”
Tahlonna walked towards the biggest tree at the edge of the clearing and unsheathed the knife. He began cutting a branch of, when the branch fell to the floor Tahlonna picked it up and chopped off the smaller branches until, a few moments later he had a smooth branch in his hands. He then sheathed the knife and slung the strap over a tree branch.
Baluren held up his shield in front of his chest, and his sword ready. He waited for Tahlonna to get into position but he didn’t move, so he started jogging forward at Tahlonna. Just as he was a few feet away he swiped his sword at Tahlonnas feet, but he merely jumped over the sword and struck Baluren hard on the back of the head making him fall head first into a tree.
“Do you give up yet?” Tahlonna asked with a smirk on his face.
“No, just warming up.”
Baluren jogged towards Tahlonna again this time Tahlonna didn’t wait until last minute to move, he moved left then right than ran straight at Baluren with inhuman speed. When he got to Baluren, he swiped at his head with the make shift staff knocking him out cold.

Chaos is my game.
Dragons of black and charchoal wings,
Has a breath of death, they're evil things,
At sunset they arouse and then soon take up flight,
Flying throughout the darkest of night,
Seeing their wounderous bodies soar through the skies,
Searching for a kill with their blood red eyes,
You better hope the dragon has eaten,
He'll fight to the death untill you are beaten,
When daylight breaks he'll fly home to his den,
But beware for nightfall shall come again
