 Island of mistsZantya and Eu'am walked along the beach in trepidation. Thick, nasty fog swirled around them as if alive. The waves lapped at their boots, the sound early quiet for what it should be. The island they were on was a rock covered, cliff divers paradise. "Eu'am?" Zantya questioned as they passed yet another rock formation along the waters edge. Eu'am ignored his wife, looking up at the cliffs they passed. They were here on a mission, one he refused to fail.
Though bounty hunting wasn't quit his specialty, the Varden had sent them here to retrieve a worker for the king. A powerful being who was said to hide in the caves here. He paused as he noticed the sand around one cave was disturbed. He ran for it, and knelt to examine the tracks. They led straight to the closest cave. Zantya sighed as she realized what her mate meant to do. " I personally thought that if something was to easy to find that it was probably a trap!" she wispered furiously, and then became furious as Eu'am ignored her. She stalked after him when he went into the cave keeping her senses open. |

 I think I will use Elcyon for this one. Her home is Illium so she would know the islands off of Alagasia pretty well, but a new island is always fun to explore! IC: Elcyon was flying over the ocean, ready to head home from a journey she had made recently. She clutched her journal close to her body, as it was a keep-sake of everything she had witnessed and documented. It wouldn't be long until she reached Illium, her home where she hatched and knew quite well. But not long after she had, a mysterious fog began to roll over the waves, as though some creature breathed it to life from somewhere far away. El knew how dangerous it was to fly over ocean when the mists came. She would have to find any kind of land, and soon. She spotted some sand below her, indicating it was an island of sorts. El carefully made her way down to the beach and landed neatly. She shook her wings out from their stiffness and looked around. Nothing could be described in detail, for here the fog swept over the land, cloaking it from view. Suddenly, she heard voices up ahead. El took a hiding place next to a jagged rock, as someone walked past. She couldn't make out their shapes in the fog, but she could tell that from one voice it was a woman. They were hunting something...or someone. They were going inland, that much was certian. Re: Island of mists Eu'am rolled his eyes as Zantya once again complained. He chose to ignore her.... Again. Lately she had been so moody. He couldn't fathom why his sweet wife had turned into a shrew these last few weeks. He probably shouldn't have brought her , but he couldn't stand not to see his love. He shook his head again resumed walking.
The need to be silent wasn't lost on Zantya, that's why she whispered er furious argument with her oblivious husband. If he wasn't so high an mighty, Zantya might have gottenthrough his thick skull that they could be walking into a trap. She shook her head. Granted she might be a tad shrewish, her husband was skilled, but she had a very good reason. One her husband was unaware of. |

Re: Island of mists El watched as these people headed towards a cave. Thinking quickly, she followed a few meters behind her. El didn't think they were hostile in anyway and it would have been better to make her presence known while she was still outside the cave in case if anything did happen.

Re: Island of mists El took a step back. Whoa there, take it easy! I'm not here to attack you or anything! She showed them each of her claws to show she had nothing except for her journal. I thought you guys might be lost or something so I figured I could help out. She shrugged. I've lived on an island for many years, I know how to prepare in a fog.

Re: Island of mists Eu'am walked over to sand beside Zantya. His little wife was all too trusting. He let her speak though, having no filter for his mouth.
"Thank you kind dragon, but alas we are here hunting someone down. That is our job you see, for we are bounty hunters at the moment." Zantya said, bowing to show respect, pulling a frowning Eu'am down beside her. "my name is Zantya, and the surly bear is my husband Eu'am ." she added upon rising. She kept the protective shield up as a precaution. Eu'am would never forgive her if she got their unborn child harmed before he knew about it. That was her secret reason for being so moody as of late. |

Re: Island of mists El bowed her head in reply, her voice becoming warm to show no hostility. She was glad the misunderstanding was somewhat gone. My name is Elcyon. It is a great pleasure to meet you both. Who is it you are looking for? Perhaps I can be of some assistance?
El was sure these people were good, and whoever they were hunting had it coming to he or she. Anyway, El knew that this island was unfamiliar to the three of them and it would probably do them some good if they travelled together. Zantya sighed as Eu'am turned away. "Please disregard him. He is so serious. We would appreciate your company." Zantya replied. She turned to look after Eu'am. She shook her head. He could be so abrupt and somewhat unfeeling. Then again he was so loving. She sighed. Maybe he would lighten up when the war ended. |

It appeard that Zantya was the more compassionate of the two, though Eu'am seemed to have a different compassion but towards whoever he was hunting. El was sure he was just intent on his hunt and not purposefully being blunt. But these assumptions could wait. El followed behind the couple carefully, picking her way through rocks. So what is your intent on capturing this murderer? El asked. I mean, do you have a motive? I'm just curious, because everyone I've come across has either done so for revenge or vengence. She walked after her husband, and sighed. "You know dear, you could at least say hello." Zantya called out.
Eu'am had knelt to look at a footprint, but rose on a sigh when he heard Zantya. He crossed his arms over his chest and turned to them. His little wife was standing there glaringat him, her face in an adorable pout. He couldn't resist walking up and kissing her scowl away. He leaned back after and smiled. "Yes of course dear." Eu'am turned to the dragon an bowed. " Welcome, we are honored that you join us." |

El laughed good-humoredly and turned her head away slightly to give the couple a little time to themselves as they kissed, and then looked back when they finished. Eu'am finally greeted her well-mannered and El bowed back in response. And I am honored to finally get a greeting from you, she added with another laugh. I knew there was a bit of sunshine behind that dark cloud of yours. She winked. Zantya rolled her eyes. Er husband was so primeval. She followed him though, prepared to throw wards up if needed. She loved Eu'am and would protect him with her life. She smiled. He had his moments of adorableness, and so she kept him around to amuse her. She grinned. |

Re: Island of mists El could only wonder as they continued on through the tunnel just what it was that made this man dangerous. But it could be discussed later. Eu'am was very intent on his hunt, and it was obvious as he found a set of footprints just ahead of him. El laughed at Zantya's expression towards her husband, though from what El could tell it was loving despite a slight annoyance.
El took a whiff at the footprints in front of them, then inhaling at the surrounding air. It's fresh, and he had taken a left turn about fifty paces ahead of us, she informed Eu'am and Zantya. Re: Island of mists Zantya thanked the dragon, and then followed Eu'am through the tunnels. She watched all around them. She was very aware of their surroundings. The man they were after was dangerous, and she was prepared for anything.
Eu'am thanked the dragon and followed the directions she gave. He drew his sword, and a curved dagger. The farther they went, the more he could sense. There was a very troubled soul only fifty paces ahead, and their heart was beating. They knew they were being followed. He barely had time to react before a black field slammed into his body, lifting him off the floor and slamming him into a wall. Zantya retaliated with an earth shattering ice shards. It exploded and a scream followed. She didn't take time to check her handy work before running to Eu'am. |

Re: Island of mists El was more alert as Eu'am was slammed up against the wall by an unknown force. Zantya shot ice shards towards the assailant, and it must have caused some damaged for the man let out a blood-curtling scream. El made sure that Eu'am and Zantya were alright before she charged in after the man to make sure he couldn't do anything else to harm her newly-found friends.
I should warn you, I have normal and shadow fire breath! At any time I could turn dark-side and it has no mercy for the likes of you! she hissed, making herself more fearsome by arching her back like a cat's. IC: Drake stuffed his purse in his pocket after staring intently at the money he had been payed. He had to admit, Galbatorix could pay quite well in assassination missions. He didn't exactly revel in killing people he didn't have to, but it was worth the pay. Movement caused him to lift his head sharply. He cursed he saw a man moving in the shadows, holding a curved dagger. Drake swiftly extended his palm, muttering a spell in some long forgotten language. The spell slammed into the man, throwing him to a wall. Drake smirked, satisfied, before his eyes widened as he saw ice shards speeding towards him. He hadn't been prepared for more than one opponent to track him. He let out a yell as some of the ice shards lay protruding from his shoulders and one from his stomach. He laughed harshly, a bone-chilling laugh that echoed off the walls as some dragon threatened him. "The likes of me? Ha! I have a better proposal. Let me go free, or I strangle your friend with magic right where I hold him," Drake snapped. Allena walked forward from the shadows and bared her teeth in a snarl. Leave my Rider be, dragon. Re: Island of mists Zantya began to chant, counteracting the spell holding her mate. He fell to the floor choking. Zantya threw her arms around him, holding on tight. After a few moments she threw a shield up, weaving the magic of te first attack through it.
Zantya heard te request and glared into the darkness. " I do believe your magic holds no power, and as for you. I would stand down. I'm a shade and he is a white warrior." Zantya called out.........even though technically she USED to be a shade. Eu'am stood, groaning as he felt a few ribs crack. |

Re: Island of mists El only growled angrily. This man sounded so arrogant beyond compare. And she hadn't known that a dragon was with him. He was a rider, apparently. It becomes my business when someone is murdered for money, El spat, her tail lashing as the man threatened to choke Eu'am. Whatever he was paid for, it doesn't equal the value of another person's life. This is my last warning. I do not know what will happen once I go dark side. If I should become angry enough, there will demons you must battle no evil force on this earth would willingly battle with, she murmured blackly, feeling the darkness rise in her, the curse edging slowly towards taking over her mind. In only a minute, she would have no control over what would happen.

I haven't harmed either of you, so back off," Drake retorted angrily. Drake fingered the amulet around his neck at the dragon's threat. "Really? I suppose I can say the same of myself then. Unfortunately, I don't feel like fighting people who are off to kill me for no reason. I've had enough if that in my life," Drake murmured, and with a flicker of movement, his hand was pointing at the rocky ceiling in between them. A dart shot from his hand and struck the rocky ceiling, causing a portion of it to collapse. Rubble soon separated them.
Drake then pointed his hand to the wall behind him and shouted, "Jierda!" The rock structure collapsed, and he and his dragon passed through it. Re: Island of mists Moon and her mate were hovering above the island, waiting for their riders. Movement below them caught her eye and she dove down to check it out. She was aware that her rider had been attacked, her mind link with Zantya revealing all. When the murderer emerged into the light she let out a roar. She opened her maw and sent ice shards raining down on them.
Zantya heard her dragon roar and grabbe her husband's hand. She bolted back the way they came, rushing to make it outside and aide the two dragons. |

Re: Island of mists El was about to chase after the murderer, feeling her dark form taking over slowly. She wasn't afraid what that two-leg had; a mere amulet. Her shadow form was caused by a 300 year old curse; it was one of the darkest entities in the surrounding areas. Just then, she heard the call of another dragon just outside the cave. She noticed her companions begin running towards the roars, and immediately followed. She assumed these dragons were friends, and were ready to help them in capturing the murderer.

Re: Island of mists Drake prepared to weave a counterspell, but Allena shot a torrent of fire which met the ice shards dead on. Both the fire and the ice shards dissipated. Drake frowned at the turn of events. He wasn't expecting those two from inside to be Riders. No matter how skilled in combat Allena was, she was still young, and couldn't take down three dragons on her own. Take to the skies! I'll try to cover you and redirect their blows! Drake said in Allena's mind as he scrambled onto her saddle. Her powerful leg muscles flexed as she bended down as if about to pounce. She then lunged into the air, her massive wings allowing her to take flight with ease. Drake placed his hand over his amulet, feeling the warmth of the gem upon touching it with his free hand. In his other hand, he held his signature dagger. He observed the others intently, ready to reach magic at a moment's notice.

Re: Island of mists Garason swooped in to hover beside his mate, his bright red scales shunning in the light. He growled at the dragon below, his teeth barred. His mate was the stronger strategic fighter, but he looked scarrier. He blasted fire below them. Making a circle of fire.
Eu'am burst from the tunnel and called his dragon. The male drgon swooped and picked his rider up. As soon as he rose to the sky he sent Moon after Zantya. Finally the two riders faced the murderer. "I don't plan on killing you, but I do plan on giving you to the Varden. They are displeased with your involvement in the murder." Eu'am called down. |

When he stopped, Allena flapped her wings before diving into a cluster of trees, disappearing from view. Re: Island of mists Zantya watched te fire come, wishing she was Reb at that moment. She called on everything she was, and slowly a fire shield began to form just as the attack hit. She began to sweat as the attack continued, and screeched whe her shield weakened and failed all together, slamming into Moon. Garrason was there to catch them before the plummeted, but the damage was done. The murderer was gone.

Re: Island of mists Elcyon shot her shadowy breath to deterierate the flame wall, but some got through and hit Moon. She growled with frustration as the murderer and his dragon escaped, dodging through trees to lose them. I'm not giving up so easily! she exclaimed, taking off after them. There was no way a fire wall was going to distract them all. Making sure everyone was alright, El flew off after the two, unsure of whether she would find them or not.

Re: Island of mists Drake thought that he and Allena were in the clear, but then a crashing sound came from behind him, and he recognized that annoying dragon from earlier. "Brisingr!" Drake shouted, his hand pointed at one of the trees. A sliver of flame shot from his hand. As soon as it came into contact with the tree, it began to spread quickly. The fire would not only potentially keep the dragon from following them, but the smell of smoke would mask their scent, making them much harder to smell.

IC: Elcyon dove towards the trees anyway, realizing that the murderer had presented fire to the forest, to make sure that the smoke and flames would mask their scents. El growled, frustrated that all she could smell was burning wood and brush. She backed off a little as the flames became bigger, ascending to the skies again. She looked around everywhere, but couldn't see them through the thick canopy. Feeling defeated, El flew back towards Moon and Zantya. They appeared alright except for a few minor injuries.
