I'm starting to doubt that it is the last season...they could easily make it into another season if the wanted. I'm not sure if this has been confirmed to be the last one. I mean there are 4 elements, there should be 4 seasons.

Theres always hope but i think the seasons are with the elements he hasn't mastered so i would guess there would only be three seasons but thats what i just think.

Yes, AND giant war balloons, made of metal and they have fire benders on tethers to defend them from attack by Appa. They couldn't destroy them so they couldn't keep them from destroying the subs. In the end, Zuko is following Appa in one of the canvas balloons.

Yup zuko is a slow learner. I forgot about toph's lie detector but i agree they will not accept him or trust him at the beginning.
