Post Daughter of the Twilit Dusk.
OOC: Yea like okay. So this is my first thread I'm making, hope I don't fail miserably :P I'll be killing off Emrhyst, just as my sister had wanted to do so before the recession had started. This is set several years into the future, further than even some old thread in Surda my sister was in before. So yea. Here goes!

IC: Wingtip to wingtip, Emrhyst and Thorn were soaring in the sky above the Hadarac desert. Teeth bared, tails lashing, claws bloodied, wings torn and eyes bloodshot. They had been fighting in the air for the entire day, and Emrhyst was at the end of her limits. Thorn had the upper hand with a host of magicians committed specially to keep his energy reserves high. It did not remove the feelings of sheer exhaustion whose pangs Thorn periodically felt.

On the ground, twenty-thousand feet below, Eriel fought with Murtagh. She had a great head start, being able to successfully shoot several enchanted arrows into both his arms. The enchantment slowed down his movements and made it easier for her, but with the magicians backing Murtagh up, the arrows only served to cut several cords that were quickly stitched back together. She was tiring fast, and each blow from Murtagh was strategically aimed to make her twist in awkward positions. Her mental defenses were wavering as the ten magicians pounded into her walls of adamant, slowly but surely chipping away at it bit by bit.

With a great shout from Murtagh, Za'roc was sideways with both his hands, aiming for the elf's waist. Eriel's eyes covered in fire, she knew this would end soon for her if she didn't act. With skill and dexterity surpassing most elves she flipped her sword and parried the blow with the flat of her bloodied green blade. Throwing most of her body weight on her sword, she ran down the edge of Za'roc and slashed upwards, catching Murtagh on the chin.

Blood now steadily running down his neck, Murtagh let out a cry of rage. Then, howling in pain, he clenched his armored hand into a fist and let fly the punch of doom. It hit Eriel in the neck. Any scream of pain she would have uttered was silenced by the blood that bubbled its way out of her throat. She edged backwards, a huge bruise forming in the center of her neck. With only so little energy left to spare she healed the wound as best as she could and looked at Murtagh tiredly. Breathing heavily, Eriel found that Murtagh was once again refreshed by the ten magicians behind him.

Any cry of outrage she could have released was immediately cut off by a burning sensation in her neck. And a roar, from somewhere in the heavens above.

Emrhyst roared weakly as Thorn gripped her tightly around her neck, sinking his fangs into her soft flesh. Then, bloodthirsty and drunk with blood, he released his inner fire onto her neck and head. The green dragon roared and Eriel released a cry of pain, forcing her to her knees, clutching her throat. 'Emrhyst!' The elf cried out, only to hear a deep, sickening scream of pain from the bottom of hell itself. She knew Emrhyst was making the sounds of a dying dragon, and her Ignasia was glowing wildly, burning like lightning.
The red dragon, satisfied with the damage he had caused released Emrhyst to the desert below and flew downwards to catch his rider, who was standing in front of Eriel, a smirk on his face. Tilting her head up with his sword, he recoiled as the elements came to surround the two of them.
The elven lady shook with unimaginable rage and sadness. With a cry of anguish she beat aside Za'roc with her bare hand, ignoring the bleeding cut. Channeling every single one of her spells into a shining ball of pure energy, she shot it at Murtagh but missed, barely. It slammed into the ground near by and the shock wave literally blew him into the air, where he was caught by Thorn. Laughing about his victory without the use of his Eldunari, he returned to Uru Baen. The magicians, now totally petrified at the lack of a rider on their side of the battlefield immediately retreated on horseback.

Her mental defenses overwhelmed, and physical exhaustion taking over, she could only crawl towards her dying dragon lying in the dust.
'Emrhyst... Oh Emrhyst what have I done!'
The dragonness purred as gently as one with a punctured neck could.
I am dying little one... She whispered back into her rider's mind.
'I know friend of my heart. I know.' Eriel broke into tears and curled up on the underside of her dragon. In a choking voice, she said into her dragon's mind, 'I have no more energy left in me. You know what hurts most Emrhyst? Not loosing you, but the fact that I can't... Do anything about it.'
Emrhyst wrapped her bloodied tail around her rider, licking her face gently.
My Eldunari is still with me Eriel. They didn't have the opportunity to take it. With that Emrhyst convulsed within herself and laid the shining green Eldunari next to her rider.
Take it. She whispered gently, then, with all the energy she had left, gave out one last roar that was heard from the western seas to the unknown east. From the icy north to the fiery south.
And she died. Her Eldunari ceased to glow.

Eriel just lay there beside the body of her slain dragon with tear-stained cheeks as Murtagh proudly reported news of Emrhyst's death to Galbatorix.

Within her hand lay the Eldunari of Emrhyst and behold. It was a twilit dusk as the sun set, leaving Eriel with her dragon in perpetual darkness, broken only by the dimly glowing Eldunari, pulsing in rhythm with Eriel's heart.

Keralin felt it as soon as Aelir did, jumping out of bed and clutching his chest. Keralin looked at Aelir, at the emerald within his chest and saw it go dark. Both of them screamed into the darkness as they knew... Emrhyst had died.
Aelir's crooning woke every elf within Du Weldenvarden, but stopped as Keralin jumped onto his back, dressed for war.
Find Eriel, we have to find her. Keralin relayed his need to get to her and Aelir took off. Together they would make sure she was okay, then find whoever did this and make them suffer.

As they came over the desert they found Eriel clutching something close to her chest, and Emrhyst lying unnaturally still. Keralin jumped off Aelir's back and ran to Eriel while Aelir ran to Emrhyst crooning.
"Eriel!" Keralin said running for her, sliding to a stop beside her. "Eriel are you okay?"

OOC: Of course not :)

IC:"Am I okay...?" She asked softly as if in a dream. "Look at me Keralin. I'm wounded, my strength is gone and most importantly, my dragon. My sweet Emrhyst. Is dead!" She almost screamed the last word.
She curled tighter into a ball, clutching fiercely at the Eldunari. Her eyes were a deeper shade of blue now, and tears fell fiercely from them.
She looked at Aelir who was crooning over Emrhyst's broken body. There were tears from his eyes. So much that it made her own seem like mere puddles in comparison with the ocean.

The sky was darkening now, and the black silhouette of a Lerthblaka passed across the face of the moon, cawing out a black victory cry.

OOC: Gonna update Eriel's charry soon :P

Keralin cradled Eriel within his arms, trying to soothe her as best as possible. It felt as if half his heart was torn out, as if Eriel herself had died. He was half relieved that Emrhyst had managed to escape to her Eldunari but he still berated himself for not being aware of this sooner.
"It's my fault..." He began, "I should have been here sooner to help you, I should have kept closer tabs, I should have... It's my fault. I could..." He only noticed then he had tears in his own eyes.

Aelir couldn't lift himself from the ground next to Emrhyst's corpse, he couldn't breathe. It felt as if his entire heart was torn out, torn and... Aelir roared in fury, sadness, loss and helplessness. He kept roaring until he had nothing left in him.

Eriel turned her head and buried herself in the crook of Keralin's neck. "You couldn't have known..." She whispered in a shaky voice. Gradually, and as the evening turned to night, she looked up at Keralin and deftly kissed his lips. She allowed herself a wry smile. "Thank you. Without you I would have gone mad from this." She said. "Maybe as mad as Galbatorix himself." She joked.

The eldunari glowed a little brighter. From within it, Emrhyst gently connected with Aelir. Don't mourn too much for me my love. I'm not exactly dead am I? She sent him a mental image of her smiling.

Eriel looked at Keralin. "Now I need to get myself a new mount and a smithie." She smiled and then said. "I feel better, and Emrhyst needs a suitable tomb for this." She whispered the last part mentally to Keralin and Aelir, motioning towards them to step back.

It still hurts here... Aelir said, lowering his head towards his heart. I'll never be able to wrap myself around you again, smell your scent, I'll never... I know you're still here and I'll never forget that. It's just... I could have saved you the pain. I could have... I sound like Keralin now don't I? Grimly using humor.

Keralin still wanted to hold onto Eriel, almost as broken up as she was. "You know a smithy and... If you don't mind, I would like to create the tombstone for her." Keralin had his hands clenched so hard that they were visibly shaking. "I need to do something... Anything. Please."

Eriel let out a soft smile. "If you must, let Aelir join in as well. Dragons always did have a thing for tombs." She said, remembering Brom.

OOC: I hope you don't mind that I join. This is amazing so far, and Wil needs some new friends.

IC: Wil felt a great sadness wash across the land as the last golden rays sunk below the sandy horizon. The first lazing drifts of sleep were instantly dashed from his mind. He was suddenly wide awake. It took a few hours, but Wil finally located the source of the sadness. The desert around was black as pitch and as cold as the North. Wil wrapped his cloak closer around himself as he walked up to the great glowing mass. It was a beautiful tomb large enough for a dragon. There were intricate carvings in the material that spoke of the true love of the maker or makers. Wil ran a hand softly, gently down one side of the tomb, and his heart grieved. "A dragon has been lost to this world today." he said simply.

OOC: Wil showed up after the tomb was made. I didn't describe everything, I'll leave that to Aeraldi, but if this is too awkward I can change it or get rid of it.

Post Re: Daughter of the Twilit Dusk.
Aelir hated doing it, he didn't want to leave the body of Emrhyst but he knew that she would still be around. He reared and breathed onto her body, magic flowing through him as it had only done so little before. It was a raging torrent, threatening to sweep him away with it but under his control. Around the shape of Emrhyst rose a Emerald tomb that shaped itself as a dragon now sleeping peacefully, tail wrapped around itself. It was so life-like that it seemed as if it should be breathing slightly. It didn't allow too much light through, though you could see the dragon resting underneath it, posed like the crystal around it. In front of the dragon rose a plaque made of Metal, ready to be shaped.

Keralin walked up the tombstone and placed his hands on it, letting magic flow through him to inscribe the words that would let others know how much she would be missed.

"Here lies Emrhyst, dragon to Eriel.
Bonded to Aelir by love and child.

There are no words to truly explain how much she meant,
But know that she had strength beyond her muscles
And compassion that brought peace to the most wayward traveller
She will be missed by all, and she will be forever in our hearts.

Lie forever in peace dear Emrhyst,
Knowing that your memory will last till the end."

Keralin stepped back from the Tombstone, looking at his work. As much as he wanted to add more, he felt he would have stayed forever.

Eriel shed a tear as the grave was made and when it was done looked at it sidelong.
"It seems incomplete somehow..." She said softly then unbuckled her sword. Looking at it softly, almost tenderly, she sung an impression of her sword onto the Emerald.
Looking at the grave now she placed an enchantment that caused all against Galbatorix to look at it to feel a deep sadness within themselves, and know immediately what had happened.

A dragon was slain.

Gazing out into the horizon the elf gave a long shrill whistle. Almost immediately the whinny of a horse was heard, and her ears caught the thundering sounds of a galloping horse. "Now, while we wait for my mount to arrive, would you mind making me some armour Keralin?" She get out a grin at him. "Preferably some pauldrons to guard my shoulders. I'll take care of the rest." She smiled wider and changed out of her now tattered and torn white robe into a blue tunic in her bag. Then reaching back in pulled out a shirt of soft leather and some brightsilver.

Wil let his hand fall from the emerald carving. His eye lit upon the sleeping carcass of Emhyrst beneath the carving. Again his heart flooded with sadness. A tear slid down his cheek, and fell toward the earth. He reached out and caught the tear, feeling it sink into his fingerless glove. This memorial wasn't a place of sadness. There was an underlying tune of revenge here. There was a small voice yelling into the darkness beyond, challenging the great blackness. Wil's eyes hardened immediately. He scanned the ground and saw nothing. He cursed himself for forgetting how shiftless and impossible sand was. Instead, he sniffed the air, picking up the scent of elf, horse, and dragon. The scent was about an hour and a half old. Wil sighed and started off, following the trail at a light trot. If he was to play a part in this, he wanted to meet the soul brave enough to go on without her dragon.

Post Re: Daughter of the Twilit Dusk.
Phalynx couldn't believe what she was seeing. The horrifying sight made her wince, even in her sleep, and she suddenly awoke with a cry as she watched her friend die. She shook her head, hoping that it had only been a nightmare. But she knew better than that. It was far too real, and she could feel a twinge in her heart that meant something was not right. She suddenly frowned, confused. Usually her instincts let her know when she was needed to help someone, especially her friends. Why hadn't she felt the expected urge to fly to the Hadarac? Why had she been able to watch it all happen? A tear rolled down her face from one of her green eyes. Phal felt so helpless.

I need to go there now. I need to- to pay my respects to Emrhyst, she thought with a choked sob. Emrhyst was one of her good friends. Though she hadn't known her especially well -Phal's lifestyle and the fact that she was still young had kept her from getting to know Emrhyst very well- Emrhyst was still part of her family, in a way.

Phal spread her large wings and sped upwards, into her domain, into the sky. But as she flew, she felt no joy as she usually did. She felt only sadness. She would need to hurry to the Hadarac if she was to get there before she lost track of Eriel, Keralin, and Aelir.

"I... I... Yes, I can do that." Keralin said uncertainly. She was taking the death of her dragon so well, it was scary. "It'll take me some time to forge, I do things the old fashioned way since I'm not strong enough in magic to make it here, nor can I make the forge. If only Hayren was here to do that." He felt the hurt lift slightly at the mention of their son. "The toy I gave him has been constantly changing shape since he got it. He's got talent that's for sure."

Aelir put his head against the tomb, laying one last spell on it. He wanted to make sure that none would ever harm this tomb as those who did have the intention would find their hearts stricken so profoundly that they would not be able to move. One day my body will join yours here, until then I have work to do. He said to Emrhyst in her Eldunari. He turned away and faced Keralin and Eriel, a touch of jealousy hitting him.

Emrhyst purred within her Eldunari at Aelir's remark and started humming a dragon lullaby in their minds. I know you will Aelir. Because I'd kill you myself if you didn't. Emrhyst said jokingly.

Eriel gave him a small nod. "I know you think I'm taking this lightly. I can because Emrhyst is still with me, in a way. Plus, I feel lighter. Almost, less dark. It's as if..." She trailed off, her memory suddenly flying back to the time when Emrhyst died.
The Eldunari.
The glowing.
The unnatural darkness that only occurred when a shade was born, and even then it was rare.
The shadow across the moon.
She searched deep within herself, and found Alcioraell gone.
Eriel let out a scream of surprise, so much so that she had to cover her mouth with her hand when Aelir and Keralin turned. "Alcioraell isn't there Keralin." She looked at him in open-mouthed wonder.

Emrhyst just sent her Indlvarn a mental image of her making a very toothy grin. Almost instantly, Eriel and Emrhyst were locked in deep conversation.
'But how did you-'
I purged he-
'I mean how could yo-'
I went inside an-
'No no no! I meant why didn't you-'
'Tell me?' Tell you? They both said in unison.

Eriel paused at the unlikely scenario before her. She felt Emrhyst closer to her even when she was dead physically.

'How is this possible?' The elf inquired.
Emrhyst laughed. Simple, I went in, roared, tussled around while you were still crying over my 'death', and drove her out of you.
'Wait... You're laughing over me crying over your death? Ho-'
Let me finish. The dragon chided. Do you remember that 'Lerthblaka'?
Eriel nodded.
That was no Lerthblaka. That was Alcioraell as a shade.

That was it. Her dragon had said it so straight, not a single flinch, that it all made sense.
'And that victory cr-'
Was no cry of victory. It was a cry of defeat. Emrhyst ended, smiling smugly at her Indlvarn.

"Well that makes sense..." Eriel mused to herself.
What? No thank you very much? Emrhyst said in a pouty voice.
Eriel grinned. 'Thanks Emrhyst'
You're welcome sweetie.

OOC: honestly, I'm not a major part in the story yet, so I'm not sure what to write. lol.

IC: Wil tracked the group through the desert for a good part of the night. He stopped when the moon was setting, before the grey wakes of dawn appeared on the horizon, created a small sand den, and crawled in for a couple of meager hours of sleep.

OOC: pass post. Like I said, I'm really not sure what to say to get into the loop of the story.

OOC: Well, as I've said in my posts, the only way Keralin can make the armor is to get to a forge. So if you want to say we trekked it to Du Weldenvarden then I will.

OOC: Cause Keralin's magic is quite weak. The only magic he has that is strong is Dark magic, and that uses part of his soul to fuel the spell.

OOC: I'll find you in this post, Wil. And then Phal and Wil can track after Eriel, Keralin, and Aelir. They've met before, haven't they? I'll just assume so, to make it easier. :)

IC: Phal travelled south for a few hours. She didn't know how, but something was pushing her in the right direction. The land sped under her in a blur as she hurried as fast as she could. By the time she arrived, everyone else had already left. She could see the form of Emrhyst under a crystalline casing. It was strange; Phal gazed at her in infrared light, but there was no heat coming from her any more. Phal bent her head, tears dripping from eyes as green as Emrhyst's scales had been. She glanced at the stone above the grave, and placed a claw on it. With a long sigh, Phal turned away, but not before noticing something. Emrhyst's Eldunari was gone. Phal smiled, realizing that her friend was not truly dead.

After staying a few more minutes, Phal finally decided to try to find Eriel, Keralin, and Aelir. As she was flying into the air, she noticed the heat signature of someone else not far away. It took a while for Phal to recognize who it was. She hadn't spoken much with Wil, but she recognized him. Wil, what are you doing out here? she inquired, hovering near him.

"Well, we cannot stay here forever." Keralin said, putting his hand on Emrhyst's grave once again. "I suggest we head south, to the Varden. There should be an anvil there or at least a Stone I can reinforce on the way to make your armor. It'll feel good to make something with my hands again."

Aelir sniffed the air, catching the scent of a horse. Although, it didn't smell like the horses that Humans so often used. I believe your ride has arrived. He said to Eriel.

OOC: Tks for making Aelir sniff my horse :p

IC: "Yes, that would be good. I think I'll have rested up enough then to help too." She smiled at him. "We're going to be making stuff out of bright silver." She grinned wider and showed him the bright silver in her hands.
Emrhyst hummed gently as Eriel sung the Eldunari into a necklace.
Wearing it under her blue robe, she elf smiled softly at Emrhyst's grave.
Now the two of you look alike Emrhyst purred, comparing Eriel to Keralin.
'It would keep the empire off us for awhile. They've always gone on high alert for a man in blue and a lady in green.' The elf grinned.

Quicksilver's hoof's trod deeply into the sand as he made his way towards his owner. Letting out a loud whinny of joy when he say Eriel, the horse broke into a gallop.

Eriel smiled as Quicksilver arrived, placing her face next to his, she gently caressed the stallion's flank and jumped on his back nimbly, using Emrhyst's restored energy to help.
"How are you going to travel?" She asked Keralin.

OOC: I'm going to go just to get things rolling.

"We're hurt that you have to ask." Keralin and Aelir said together. Keralin put his hand on Aelir and looked up at him. "I've always got you." He said.
And I you. Aelir said back, lowering himself to allow Keralin onto his back.
"We'll be above you, searching for what we can use." Keralin reached out his hand to Eriel as if he could could her face from on top of Aelir's back. He wanted to say more but he knew it would come out wrong if he did. He lowered his hand and motioned for Aelir to take off and begin the journey.

Aelir felt the signal and took off into the air, feeling lighter than usual. He thought it was a need to get away from that area, but it didn't stop him from also feeling weighed down by it.

IC: Eriel looked up at the rider and dragon as they launched into the sky. Turning back towards Emrhyst's grave, she felt Emrhyst within her Eldunari purr gently. "Let's go Eriel. Like I said, I'm still alive right?" Emrhyst smiled.
Eriel just nodded and whispered a word into Quicksilver's ear. The stallion snorted and sprung forwards with the strength of a young adult dragon, easily keeping pace with Aelir flying above.

'How are things looking up there? Can you see Surda? From what I know it should be rather close by.' Eriel thought to Keralin.

Post Re: Daughter of the Twilit Dusk.
OOC: Heh, wrong dragon there.

You've crossed the border, if that's what you're asking. Keralin said back. I can see the smoke stack of a smithy, follow me and you should get there soon. Aelir dived towards the blacksmith's place and landed just outside. The Blacksmith stepped outside and said to them,
"Eragon and Saphira? No you're not them! Who are you?"
Keralin just smiled and said, "My name is Keralin and this is my dragon Aelir. We have need to use your forge sir. I would be willing to pay for the losses you will take by letting me use the forge for the day. I only need the one day."
"One day? You can't make anything in one day that will be of any use, let me sell you something I have already made instead."
"I cannot, what I make is for somebody special and can only be done by my hands. Surely you notice me as elf, I know things about blacksmithing that are lost to today's smiths that I can teach to you if you wish. Things that can make your items stronger and more resilient."
"Alright, you have me. You may use my smith, but make sure that the tools are replaced as they were. The name's Bornhald."
"I can guarantee it Bornhald. I just await the one with the ore." Keralin said.

Aelir had no care about the world of the two-legs for the moment, he lay his head on the ground and wished that he had stroked Emrhyst's scales one last time before leaving, taken one last whiff of her scent to remember for the rest of his time.

IC: Eriel checked Quicksilver and reined him in, dismounting beside Aelir, she walked over to Keralin. Giving him the bright silver that she had bought along, she raised a powerful barrier around them so that none could get in while they worked. Smiling at her mate she then asked, "Okay then, so what now?"

Emrhyst appeared as a semi transparent figure outside the forge. Smiling at Aelir, she lay her head beside his, licking his face. Don't mourn too much for me Aelir. I'm still alive. She smiled a toothy grin then disappeared with a strong gust of wind.

OOC: I'm not putting down everything on the forging... I just don't know it.
Anyway, if the others want to come in I suppose now would be a good time.

"First, I need to know exactly how large this armor is supposed to be. It'll be custom made for you so it'll fit like a second skin." Keralin took the measurements and recorded them in his head, he then went about to making the forge the right temperature. When it was done, he began the forging process. Every stroke was precise and, with the help of magic, made stronger than it ever could be. It would be made faster but it still had to take time.

Post Re: Daughter of the Twilit Dusk.
Phalynx tracked down her friends, heading south. She recognized the place where the border lay, and eventually caught sight of a familiar heat signature ahead, that of a dragon. She knew it immediately to be Aelir. Phal sighed with sadness that she would never again see the life-heat of Emrhyst, only her magic. Emrhyst's magic was at that time floating around a small area in a blacksmith's forge, which Phal guessed to be her Eldunari. Outside the forge was an unfamiliar horse, and Phal could see a magical connection between it and one of the elves inside, Eriel. That must be her new mount. How terrible it would be to no longer be able to fly whenever you wish, she thought, imagining what it was like for a rider without a dragon.

Phal sang out a dragon greeting, a long, pure call that quickly reached the others far below. From up here, Phal would still look like a star. She pulled into a steep dive, reaching the area outside the blacksmith's forge in moments. Her large wings pulled her fluidly out of the dive and allowed her to rest gently on the ground. Phal glanced at her claws, not sure what to say. I... I know what happened. I'm sorry, Aelir, she spoke quietly to the blue dragon outside.

Post Re: Daughter of the Twilit Dusk.
OOC: *tear drop* Time for the mourning to begin. Emrhyst is going to return, though. With time... -a lot- of time.

Faefnir flew slowly through the hot desert sky from Stronghold, his blue eyes tearing up too much. He kept Navarre and Teranor at the Dragon Fortress, and he wasn't sure if Star gazer was up to the task of attending Emrhyst's burial. He saw Phalynx and Aelir outside of a blacksmith near the edge of the desert and he circled down to them. He embraced his half-sister and Aelir without saying a word of greeting. I won't apologize for what happened to Emrhyst. All things of this earth must pass, and although Emrhyst was a powerful dragon, nobody can cheat death forever. She is in a good place now, feasting in the great Hunting Grounds of my father. She will miss us, and vice versa, but her time has only just begun. Faefnir stopped for a minute while he waited for everyone to come outside.

OOC: No. I don't think my sister would want that i-luv-saphira. Mind if I called you ils? Your name's kinda long xD

IC: Eriel kissed Keralin softly on the cheek. "It's just going to be pauldrons. I don't have enough for a whole suit anyway." She smiled gently.

*Time skip to when the forging is done.*

The elf looked at her mate's handiwork and could not help but laugh. "Now, what Emrhyst said is true." She paused and looked him in the eyes, her teal irises now turning their usual green hue. "We do look alike." She whispered into his mind with a smile and donned the pauldrons, just in time to hear Faefnir and Phalanx's descent.

"Shall we leave this place?" She asked Keralin, bringing down the wards and nudging him towards the blacksmith, who was half amazed and half cowed by the sudden presence of so many dragons.

"For you, anything." Keralin said to Eriel. He turned to the Blacksmith, who has shocked at the quickness it took to make the Pauldrons.
"I trust you learned something from my smith work?"
"Learned!? I've never seen metal forged so quickly, not to mention the way you used the tools. Yes, I did learn many things." Bornhald stared at the elf in disbelief. Keralin just smiled, he still had one last thing to pay for the man.
"As for the day's work, I can give you this;" Keralin pulled out several gold pieces that were commonly used in Surda. "I can get more anywhere, take them."
"Your generosity is amazing, not to mention that I've seen three dragons in one day. I will remember this for the rest of my days."
Keralin patted him on the shoulder and left the Blacksmith. The first sight he saw was none other than the great golden dragon, Faefnir. "It is good to see you Faefnir, it really has been far too long."
He heard the words from Eriel and said back to her, "There is no reason to stay, but he question is now; where do we go?"

Aelir looked at Phalynx, sorrow still in his eyes. The worst part of it all, is knowing I could have done something. If only... If only I had been there. He breathed in a deep breath and let it out slowly, crooning slightly. I don't mean to burden you with my sadness, for she is still here with me. I just miss her presence.

IC: Phalynx brushed her wing comfortingly over Aelir's side. That is upsetting for everyone, my friend. We will all miss her presence very much, she replied. She, too, was upset that she had not been there to help. Phal sighed, realizing that she could not be there to help all of her friends when they needed it, as much as she wanted to be.

She glanced up as she heard distant wingbeats, and gave a sad smile as her half-brother joined them. It's good to see you. At least Emrhyst is in her Eldunari, so we can still speak with her and be with her, she spoke, her usual optimism pressing through.

OOC: I don't want to chide, you are new here, but please try to avoid spam posts like that. Louis will delete them.

Faefnir rumbled in his chest deeply and went to the spot where Emrhyst's body was buried. He looked down at it, the scales already falling off the corpse, her eyes closed in the peaceful everlasting sleep of death. As he looked at his longtime friend, Faefnir couldn't help but feel a sense of vulnerability and weakness. This could be anybodies fate, even my own. He sighed a dragon sigh as his sad, soul-piercing blue eyes took in the body. Then, all of a sudden, he raised his head to the great desert sky and roared, long and mournful, in memory of his friend, who had left him in all but the mind that was immortalized in her Eldunari.

Post Re: Daughter of the Twilit Dusk.
OOC: I know. Was just busy yesterday :P
Also, I'm not too sure about the direction of the thread. I initially planned it to be a smallish one. Just to introduce Eriel as an Indlvarn. So, right now, I'm opening up to the floor for suggestions. :P

IC: Eriel looked away, northward. She was still suffering from Emrhyst's passing, and images of her dragon dying flashed by now and then in her head. It was traumatizing, to say the least, but with Emrhyst safe in her Eldunari, and the entire royal house around her, she felt better.
Turning back to look at Keralin, Eriel could only force a smile as another flashback occurred in her mind.
"I'm thinking of consecrating the Eldunari, so that she can appear as an apparition long enough to help me break a magician's mind." The elf said softly and strode out of the tent. Looking tenderly at her horse, she called Quicksilver over. Then, turning to the other dragons, she introduced her horse.
"This is Quicksilver. He is perhaps one of the swiftest horses ever bred by an elf." She smiled wryly. "And he is now my mount. He can run as fast as you guys cruising through the air. Right now I'll be heading across the desert to the eaves of Du Weldenvarden to consecrate Emrhyst, and to rename my sword." She smiled wider.
Turning to Faefnir, she asked "What do you think is the swiftest way to Du Weldenvarden?" She asked him privately.
