*awkward silence resumes*

First of all, Saph, I am really sorry for your loss. I had a teacher similar to yours and if I found out that she was killed. . . Yeah. . .

But anyways, I'm back! I know I didn't return as soon as you expected, but that was for a reason. Soon after we had settled into our hotel in Park City, my millionaire auntie called. My mom was doing so well with advertising the essential oil company that my aunt works for, that she offered us to come and stay for a few days at her beach house in Newport Beach, CA after we were done here in Park City. Right on the sand too. I was going to give the news, but the power cord for our laptop broke, rendering us without internet until the trip was over.

So yeah, now to recap:
After swimming at the hotel for a couple days, we packed up our things and left the hotel. Going to the small amusement park next door, containing the famous Alpine Slides and the even more extreme Alpine Coaster. I loved the coaster the most, and I went on it a full 8 times over the coarse of the day. The rest of my family went on the Slides more because they were more gentle and controlled. (You need to ride a ski lift up to the top, and I am ridiculously afraid of heights, so I preferred not to go up there that much. )

Then, we came home to spend the night, pack a few more things, eat, change the minivan into something like a bed, and we were off again for a 12 hour trip. We came to Newport, which my mom practically grew up in, and had a nice relaxing time. We build a few gigantic sandcastles with my dad's help, went boogie boarding, and saw a few sharks then a seal carcass wash up on the beach before staying away from the water for a while.

Now I'm back, and I am REALLY tired right now. Just checking up to see what's going on before going to bed again. Also, my WNV was pretty much cured by the time we left Park City, so yeah, I'm better now.

I wish finding a job at my age and in my area wasn't impossible right now, I want a car so bad :<

My dad agreed to pay for lessons, a cheap car and testing but I'm gonna need some income to support running costs...

The thing is, being able to drive might open up a bunch of job opportunities, but if I can't find a job when I do have a car then I'm royally screwed :V

The legal requirement to drive is 17 here anyway, but by the looks of it I could be 19+ before I can get something -_-

I'd really like to move to the city where I wouldn't even require a car. I view private transport as something to be slowly phased out in favor of good, reliable and flexible public transport, but that really isn't an option in a small town with a terrible bus service and the nearest train station a 45 minute walk away.

Still, I can't ignore the fact that I've always loved cars and wanted to own one

I have a beat up white van with a bad transmission and no cd player and the tape-thingy is broke too. I also have a bike, which works here well. School is 30 minutes of country hills away. And my bros have a power skooter.... And then I have...

a dog. Just put on roller skates, scare her, and away you go!! you'll get there eventually!!

Probably one of the best and worst things about having an interest in fringe science, like me, is that there are no classes, high school or college, about them. Cymatics particularly. *prepares to give a medal to anyone who knows what cymatics is*

*sigh* It's been nearly a week since my vacation to Newport, and I am still shedding my sunburnt skin like a lizard. And I don't mean flakes. I can literally peel an entire layer of skin off my leg and foot in one piece like a snake. At least the layers underneath are not raw, so it's rather fun.

My school starts back in a weeks time!

i don't really understand what the riots are about. the news outlets can't make up their minds whether it's over that kid or not.

I never liked horror movies, so I haven't seen many. (They usually set me into a long lasting Fight-or-Flight mode, so if anyone dares touch me when I'm watching one, I have to hope that I can catch myself before they get a black eye.)

Even music from horror movies and horror tracks scare me. . . Although, if you are listening to horror Two Steps From Hell style, then the music, and your imagination, become the horror scene. . .

Well, I don't like horror movies, but for some strange reason, I like horror games. Especially zombie games. Strangely, zombies are just hilarious to me. Especially the Left4Dead ones. They all look funny, sound funny, and run funny.

And yeah, Selene, horror movies do have that strange air of predictability in them. "Oh, everything's gone quiet and they're all looking at that door. Sudden monster scare in 3. . . 2. . . 1. . . "

I don't jump when I've seen it enough times to know when it happens. That at least I can rely on. Either that or closing my eyes and pretending to stretch when I'm actually plugging my ears.

But I think that the modern horror genre has degraded to the point where the whole purpose of the movie is just to scare the watcher and/or gross them out with gore and ugly images and not give any good plot or story, hence why I watch little horror at all.

My gosh. . . Its the middle of the night over here. I would be sleeping, but a terrible thunderstorm just came out of nowhere and woke me up.

The house is literally shaking from the thunder and wind. My window keeps making noise because a bush is being rammed into it right now. . . Geez, it was perfectly clear outside when I went to bed just two hours ago.

Okay, now this is something that I also forgot to tell you. Within ten minutes of posting that, the storm suddenly stopped. And I mean not slowly dying down, but going from intense thunderstorm to dead calm within the span of three seconds.

I went back to bed, and it's perfectly clear outside as if nothing happened.

Yeah, sometimes I get freaked out by the random weather here.

Heh, if I wasn't a Utahn through and through, I'd move to Texas. I love constant high heat. . . It's the winters here in Utah that gets to me. I mean, what other place do you know that has 100+ degree summers, with intense thunderstorms, and then 0 degree winters with thick snow storms? (It actually got subzero with a foot of snow last winter. . . I'm so glad I have four thick blankets on my bed.)
