See, the truffle eater is a wild pig, and the snuffle hunter is a badger. So when the pig comes, the badger leaves because it doesn' exactly want to get killed.

When the truffle eater eats, the badger is waiting for it to fall asleep.

By "Swole" it means the truffle eaters' family got bigger, meaning that it had babies, of course.

The snuffle hunter grew means that it ate the piglets.

As for the first one, here's a hint:

Later on, however, the yellow ribbon is drawn down through the blue silk, fading away in darkness to be replaced with a fire-red ribbon that dances in exactly the same way, but for a shorter time, before going into total darkness and being replaced with a shining silver button near the top and small traces of silver glitter.

That should give you some idea, just think of real-life things that could, in any way, resemble what's been described. XD
