Post My Own Eldest Movie Script
As all of you know, I wrote my own Eragon script and posted it here. Now, I have completed the Eldest script and here it is. There are just a few things you need to know before you read it. The T when Saphira and Solembum are talking means that they are talking telepathically. The numbers after the name of each scene is how many minutes and seconds it is. Also, unlike the Eragon script which I was able to fit practically all of the story into, this script has quite a bit left out of it which I was planning on using to make an extended edition. However, since there will be no extended edition, these parts are not included at all as, I believe, it would disrupt the story and lengthen the running time too much. Such scenes include the whirlpool and bits of Eragon's training. Please read and respond. Thank you and I hope you enjoy it!

And by the way, I have decided not to bother with making a script for an extended edition. I have a life you know! LOL!

Eldest Script- 3:01:45

Scene 1- “I Am Durza!”- 4:00

Company logos appear and disappear.

Dark, black. Soft music is heard in the background. Logo of Eldest appears and disappears.

Scene opens on a wide plain where a large group of tents stand.

Scene switches to inside the camp. A man walks by, and the camera scrolls over to a woman combing a boy’s hair in the shade of a tent.

Carsaib’s Mother: Oh, my dear Carsaib. How I love thee!

Carsaib: I love thee too, mother.

The mother smiles at her son, and gives him a kiss. They hug. A fire flame comes over the scene and it switches to a night scene, fires lit on torches. A large group of the nomads are in a circle staring at the father, the mother, and Carsaib. Some spit on them while others yell out oath breaker or things like banish them from the tribe.

Carsaib’s Mother: Carsaib, take my hand!

Carsaib grabs his mother’s hand. Together, the family flees out into a desert, the moon shining bright overhead.

Scene switches to Carsaib alone on a hill. Two graves stand at his feet. He is crying.

Carsaib: Mother! Father!

Carsaib cries more and stumbles back down the hill.

Scene switches to Carsaib lying in the desert, on the point of death. A hand moves into the screen and Carsaib hesitantly takes it.

Scene switches to an old man feeding Carsaib soup.

Carsaib: Thank you, sir. Who are you?

Haeg: I am Haeg, a sorcerer.

Carsaib looks at Haeg with surprise.

Carsaib: You’re a sorcerer?! Do you know about spirits?

Haeg hits Carsaib across the face, knocking him down and making him spill the soup on him. Haeg stands over Carsaib.

Haeg: So, you Desert Rat, you think you want to know about spirits?

Carsaib: Please sir, I want to know.

Haeg: Fine, then. I shall teach you.

Scene switches to Carsaib and the old man standing under a scorching sun. A lizard crawls in the sand.

Scene switches to night at Haeg and Carsaib’s camp. Suddenly, bandits jump out and attack. Fire is seen. Haeg lies dead. Carsaib cries.

Scene switches to foggy background. Carsaib stands there and calls upon spirits. His eyes turn red, his hair turns red. Slowly, he turns into Durza.

Durza: I am Durza!

There is a flash of red.

Scene switches to Eragon waking up in bed with a jump. He looks around.

Scene switches to him running down a hall. He enters a bathroom, pulls off his shirt, puts his back to the mirror and sees that the long cut from Durza is cut open and bleeding. It shines like fire. Slowly, the shininess fades away. Eragon sighs to himself. Scene goes black.

Scene 2- Ajihad’s Funeral- 6:15

Scene opens on snowcapped mountains. There are several scenes of mountains. Finally, the camera rises over a retired volcano and swoops down into it. There are clouds at first, but then they open to Tronjheim below. A bird soars past as the camera falls down through the volcano, enters the hole in the center of Tronjheim where the great star sapphire once was, and zooms in on the dead body of Ajihad which lies on a cot. There is a huge line of Vardens and dwarves behind him including Eragon, Orik, Hrothgar, Arya, and Nasuada. Nasuada is crying into a handkerchief while Arya is staring at the body. A roar is heard and everyone looks up to see Saphira fly down through the hole to meet them. She lands beside Eragon and smiles, humming.

Saphira: T. How are you little one?

Eragon: Telepathically. I’m alright. Glad to see you’re having fun.

Saphira: T. Who can have fun in such times as this?

A dwarf blows a horn and suddenly many dwarves begin beating their drums at a steady pace. Slowly, the line of people begins to move out of Tronjheim. They walk slowly through the settlement, the sun shining down. They enter a passage that slopes down into the ground. Many people are crying and men are bowing their heads. The camera goes from the entrance of the passage down through the earth to the front of the line which has now reached two huge doors. Two dwarves open them to reveal many underground halls with alcoves filled with a tomb and treasures. They carry his body down the hall, and Eragon looks into the different alcoves. They enter an alcove in which there is an open tomb. They lower Ajihad’s body into the tomb and back away, bowing their heads. Hrothgar stands by the tomb and begins talking.

Hrothgar: Ajihad’s life was not spent in vain, for he was a strong warrior and one of the bravest leaders of the Varden out of all who have ever taken the task. He led us through numerous battles and fought till the death to make sure that our lives carried on so that one day, our descendants might live in a better world, guided by the footsteps of our accomplishments. We are here today not to mourn for the loss of the dead, but to celebrate life. Crying is but selfishness of the living. Ajihad was a leader, a warrior, and… like a brother to me. May his spirit live on in the hearts of us all.

He steps down. Nasuada approaches the tomb and bends over her father, kissing him on the forehead. Tears begin to stream down her eyes, and she looks away, walking over by the others. Arya walks up next and bows her head over the body then walks away. Saphira nudges Eragon, who approaches the tomb warily. He peers over the body and runs his hands up the sword that is laid on his chest.

Eragon: Whispering. Rest easy, Ajihad, knowing that I swear that I will not let the Varden fall into chaos. The Empire will fall.

Eragon stares one last time and then moves up beside Arya. Orik dabs his eyes with a cloth, his face messed up from all the crying he has done. Twelve dwarves come up and move the stone slab over the opening of the tomb.

Scene switches to the night sky above Tronjheim. Camera pulls back and we see that we are in the center hall of Tronjheim. Eragon is gazing up at the sky through the hole. He is alone in the room, the sapphire shards of Isidar Mithrim are still scattered across the floor. There is a hum behind him and he turns to see Saphira looking at him.

Eragon: Choked. Ajihad’s gone.

Saphira: T. Physically, yes, but not in spirit. The legend of Ajihad will carry on through time.

Eragon gazes back up at the sky.

Eragon: I hardly knew him. Why did he have to die so soon?

Saphira: T. It is better this way. He died fighting. I am sure that that is what he would have wanted.

Eragon: I suppose so.

Eragon begins to sob, putting his hands in his face. Saphira puts her head against his body and he hugs it. The camera zooms out on the scene and fades into next scene.

Scene 3- A New Leader- 6:15

Scene fades in on a huge auditorium full of Varden people. On a platform in the center sits the Council of Elders. Scene focuses on Eragon and Saphira in a wave of people walking up the auditorium stairs to find seats. Eragon spots Arya.

Eragon: There’s an empty seat by Arya.

They walk down a line. Saphira fumbles around, running into people and bumping them off the side. Eragon takes his seat beside Arya and Saphira takes several seats on the other side of Eragon. Several people behind Saphira can’t see and begin complaining.

Eragon: Arya, what exactly was this meeting about?

Arya: Well, obviously since Ajihad died, the Varden need a new leader. The Council of Elders, who are sitting down there on the platform, have been busy ever since the death of Ajihad was known, going through files and having top secret meetings in order to decide who would succeed him.

Eragon: So it has nothing to do with me?

Arya: You’d like that, wouldn’t you? Now that you’re a high-ranking member of the Varden, you have influenced the decision. You know you will have to swear fealty to whoever is chosen?

Eragon: Well, what do I say?

Arya: You can come up with that on your own. But I would be careful, if I were you. The Council of Elders seems a little too power hungry at the moment. I believe that whoever they choose, they will use as a puppet. Thus, when you swear fealty to them, the Council will be able to control you through them. Just be careful.

A man on the platform rises from his chair and raises his hands, hushing the crowd.

Jormundur: May I have your attention please? Thank you. As of recent events, the Council of Elders and I have been forced to choose a new leader and to do so quickly seeing as we are in a war now more than ever. Over the course of the week, we have discussed and declined all those who would be fit to be our new leader. And so now, we have come to a conclusion. The new leader that we have chosen to carry on the duties of Ajihad is… Nasuada.

Several cheers come from the crowd. Eragon claps, while Arya merely frowns. Jormundur holds out his hands and helps Nasuada walk onto the platform, smiling. Jormundur raises his hands and the crowd goes quiet.

Jormundur: Nasuada, do you swear to carry on the duties of the Varden and to judge each member fairly, and by doing so accept the responsibility of a Varden leader?

Nasuada: I do.

The crowd bursts out cheering.

Jormundur: Eragon! Come!

Eragon gets up warily and the crowd hushes, staring at him. He walks down to the platform. Arya looks at them alertly. Eragon takes Nasuada’s hand and gets on one knee.

Nasuada: Eragon, do I have your word that you will help the Varden and serve me in all my wants for the good of my people?

Eragon looks up at Saphira and then at Jormundur, who is smiling.

Eragon: I give you my word and my blade, Nasuada.

The Council smiles brightly at each other. Nasuada turns to the crowd and speaks.

Nasuada: And know this, I will not be controlled by others and nor will Eragon. If you have any problems with that you may leave at once.

No one speaks. Nasuada sneaks a wink at Eragon who smiles.

Jormundur: There you have it, our new leader!

The crowd begins to cheer wildly. Nasuada and Eragon smile, but Arya is seen, frowning and quickly departing the auditorium.

Scene switches to Eragon and Saphira in the library, walking down the rows of books.

Eragon: Nasuada!

Saphira: T. Fitting, isn’t though?

Eragon: Yeah, I suppose. She’ll certainly be a strong leader! You know she fought in the battle, though she was told not to?

Saphira: T. Yes, so I’ve heard.

Eragon: I’ve gotten so caught up in all this about Nasuada and Ajihad that I’ve nearly forgotten about Murtagh and the Twins. I wonder what happened to them.

Saphira: T. Let’s not think of that right now.

Arya walks around the corner of the row and sees them. She walks fast toward them, as if mad.

Arya: There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!

Eragon: We’ve been here ever since the…

Arya: Interrupting. Never mind! What were you thinking?!

Eragon’s face turns to one of confused.

Eragon: Excuse me?

Arya: You know! Back in the ceremony! You pledged loyalty to Nasuada! Do you not listen to anything I tell you?

Eragon: She said that she wasn’t going to let anyone control her or me!

Arya: Look, Nasuada may be a devoted woman, but she is not as strong as her father.

Eragon: Are you questioning her authority?

Arya: No! I’m questioning her strength and wit. Don’t you see, Eragon? Everyone wants you on their side. You represent power that none of them posses, but they most dearly desire. The Council of Elders will still try to command you, and they’re going to sound very convincing to a weak mind. Just think before you act, next time, else it’ll be too late.

She turns and storms away. Eragon looks at Saphira.

Eragon: What was that all about?

Saphira: T. I don’t know, but I believe that Arya may have a point. I trust Nasuada as a leader, but we will have to weary still. There are many forces in the world, Eragon. And all now seem to be bent on controlling you. You will have to stand up for yourself, and let no one stand in your way of tearing the Empire and fulfilling your destiny.

Eragon stares at the place where Arya vanished.

Eragon: What is my destiny?

Scene 4- The Ra’zac’s Task- 3:15

Scene switches to dark clouds. It is raining and lightning flashes across the sky. Two shadowy figures emerge from the clouds and fly down to a large castle: Galbatorix’s castle at Uru’baen.

Scene switches to a soldier walks on a wall of the castle. Lightning flashes and a winged black figure is seen perched on the side of the wall behind him and hisses. The soldier turns around as lightning flashes again and the figure is not there.

The camera zooms up on the castle. We hear a man screaming.

Scene switches to the floor of Galbatorix’s throne room. There is a munching sound and an arm falls to the floor, blood oozing out. The Ra’zac are then seen sitting at a table eating. The dragon, Shruikan, is lying in the dark alcove that had once been covered by the king’s map. The creaking of a door is heard and Galbatorix enters the room. The Ra’zac stand and bow to him as he descends the dais. Galbatorix walks up to them smiling and peering into their hoods.

Galbatorix: Oh, I pray that you have enjoyed your meal. Consider it an honor, for I do not usually release useful slaves.

One of the Ra’zac hiss.

Galbatorix: My most loyal servants… You are the only ones who have not failed me. You are the only ones who have survived. And for that I am grateful. Do you know why you are here?

Another hisses.

Galbatorix: You are here because I have a very special task for you, my friends. You both remember the boy Rider?

They both hiss angrily at the mention of Eragon. Galbatorix smiles.

Galbatorix: I thought you might? Your mission was to kill his family and capture him for me. And you successfully killed the retched uncle.

The Ra’zac hiss.

Galbatorix: But there is still a survivor.

The Ra’zac look up with attention.

Galbatorix: The uncle had a son. And he was not present in the village at the time of your wrath. He escaped your claws.

Galbatorix walks over to a table and takes a scroll off of it.

Galbatorix: But, I think we can find a useful task for the cousin. He will be in the village of Carvahall, for he has been there ever since his father died. You will capture him and bring him to me.

Galbatorix unrolls the scroll and a picture of Roran is seen on it with a Wanted sign under it.

Galbatorix: He will attract the Rider, who will try to rescue him. But we won’t let him. And don’t worry. This boy’s not a Rider.

Camera zooms in on the picture of Roran.

Scene 5- The Ra’zac in Carvahall- 8:00

Scene switches to camera over the forest. It slowly comes down and we see Roran and Baldor walking along a trail. They have their bows and quivers with them on their backs.

Baldor: Now, Roran, it wasn’t too long ago that I spotted a whole herd of beautiful does just around the curve there.

Roran stops and looks at Baldor, smiling in disbelief.

Roran: Exactly how long ago has it been, Baldor?

Baldor: Hesitantly. Five months or so.

Roran smiles, shaking his head, and begins walking on.

Roran: Honestly, Baldor, you need to get better at timing these things.

They continue on along the trail. Suddenly, Roran’s nose scrunches up.

Roran: Hey, Baldor, do smell that?

Baldor takes a big whiff and his nose scrunches up too.

Baldor: Ew, yeah! It smells like something died just up there around the corner.

They carry on. Suddenly, muffled voices are heard.

Baldor: What’s that?

Roran: Sounds like people talking.

Roran turns to Baldor and puts a finger to his lips and then move on slowly and quietly.

Baldor: Whispering. Roran, what are you doing? Get back here!

Roran creeps up to the curve and gets behind a tree. He slowly moves his head around and sees a troop of thirty men or so sitting in a camp. In the center of them are the Ra’zac. A mad look comes over Roran’s face. He storms back to Baldor.

Roran: It’s those freaks! Those monsters!

Baldor: Who? What?

Roran: It’s the king’s servants! The ones that killed my father and ruined my life! They’ve got about thirty soldiers with them too, sent directly from the king I shouldn’t doubt!

Baldor: Well, they’re obviously after you, your whole family! You’ll have to run! Flee! If not you’ll bring devastation to Carvahall!

Roran: First, it was not I but Eragon that brought devastation to Carvahall! He runs away right after father dies and I never see him again! What a coward!

Baldor: That’s all behind now! I’ll tell the villagers all about the soldiers and you running. We’ll bring you food soon as possible.

Roran: Where will I go?

They turn and Baldor points with a finger to the Spine. Camera zooms in on the mountains.

Baldor: Up in the Spine Mountains!

Scene switches to Roran sitting on a boulder on a hillside. He can see Carvahall and the soldiers’ camp below in the trees. There is a ruffle in the bushes and Baldor appears carrying a sack of food. He hands Roran the food.

Baldor: I’ve been looking all over for you! I thought I’d never find you! There’s only enough food for about two days, so you’ll have to eat lightly. I told everyone about you and the soldiers. Those two cloaked things came into the village today. They searched every home. I suppose they were looking for you. All they would say was that they were looking for someone that the king wanted. I’ll let you get your sleep, now.

Baldor begins walking away. But then he turns back.

Baldor: Oh, by the way, those two hooded figures, they’re called the Ra’zac, just so you know.

He turns and walks away. Roran stares down at the soldier’s camp.

Roran: Muttering to himself. The Ra’zac.

Scene switches to the middle of the night. Roran lies on the boulder asleep. There are screams from below in the village and a light is reflected on his face. He awakens and sits up, staring down into the valley. He can see many fires in the distance where Carvahall is. Roran gets up and runs off screen.

Scene switches to him entering Carvahall. Many huts are on fire and people are running around yelling. Soldiers make their way through the village shouting commands. There is an explosion and a hut blows up in fire. Roran spots Horst trying to put out a fire with a bucket of water. He runs up to him.

Roran: Horst, what’s going on?

Horst: It’s the Ra’zac, boy! They’re after you! You shouldn’t be here! Go! Now!

Roran runs away. He finds a bucket of water and runs back and pours it on the fire. He turns to see some villagers and soldiers fighting. One of the villagers lies dead on the ground holding a hammer. Roran pocks it up and runs in among the fight. He slashes the hammer at the soldiers and hits one on the head. Then he turns and hits another in the side. He turns and sees Morn running down the street shouting.

Morn: Shouting. It’s them! It’s them! It’s the Ra’zac!

Roran turns to see where he was coming from and sees the Ra’zac coming out of the distant mist riding horses of black. One of the horses snort. The Ra’zac look around and when they see Roran they hiss. A villager runs past Roran with a sword.

Roran: No! Stop!

The villager runs at the Ra’zac and lifts his sword. But one of the Ra’zac reaches down and grabs his neck, twisting it. The villager drops his sword and goes limp. The Ra’zac lifts him onto his horse. There is a cackling scream in the night, and all the soldiers turn and follow the Ra’zac out into the mist. The villagers rush to put out all the fires. Roran stares into the fog and hears a scratchy voice.

Ra’zac #1: We have found you, Roran Garrowson.

Scene switches to gloomy morning in Carvahall. Many huts have been burnt down. Many people are gathered in the center of the village where there is a pavilion. Horst stands in the center on the pavilion. Roran sits in a chair beside him.

Horst: People, people, please, may I have your attention?

The crowd grows quiet and all stare up at him.

Horst: It seems that our small village has somehow made it onto Galbatorix’s list. Last night, three men were killed by the king’s soldiers. We have learned that they are under the command of two creatures known as the Ra’zac. These are in fact the same creatures that destroyed Roran’s farm and killed his father. All we can ask is for what reason is Galbatorix angry with us.

The crowd begins to murmur.

Carvahall Villager #1: Ask Roran there. It’s him they want!

There is more talking.

Horst: Silence! It is true that these soldiers and their crooked masters are after young Roran here, but for what purpose we know not.

Carvahall Villager #2: I say we give him up then and see if that’ll silence the king.

The crowd begins to talk again.

Katrina: Oh, shut up! You know we’re not going to give him up without a fight!

Sloan: Katrina, you stay out of this!

Katrina: No matter how many lives it costs, we should see to it that those things don’t lay a single bent finger on Roran!

Carvahall Villager #3: Why is his life more important than anyone else’s?

Horst: He is Garrow’s only son and have they not both helped everyone at least once before. I think we owe them something. What do you have to say to the matter, Roran?

Roran: I say we fight for the freedom that this village deserves. Starting tonight!

Scene switches to the soldiers’ camp at night. In the forest, we see the villagers of Carvahall crouched under the bushes. Roran looks at Horst, who nods at him. Roran lifts a hand. Archers behind him lift their bows and pull them back. Roran lowers his hand and the arrows shoot out, killing one or two soldiers. The soldiers get up and grab their weapons just as the villagers charge out of the forest. A large fight begins. Roran swings his hammer and clonks many soldiers in the head. Horst takes his sword and slashes thorough the soldiers. There are many fighting scenes. One of the tents catches on fire. The smoke rises to the sky and moon.

Scene 6- Departure- 3:45

Scene switches to Eragon and Orik walking down a hall in Tronjheim.

Eragon: I heard that the Varden are going to move west to Surda since they have been discovered here.

Orik: Yes, they will. King Orrin of the Surdans has always seen to it that the Varden are properly functional. He has always supplied them secretly with food, supplies, and soldiers.

Eragon: Well, I hope they have a safe journey.

Orik: So you are to leave with Arya on her quest to Ellesmera?

Eragon: Yes, I am to complete my training there with the elves. But don’t worry, Orik, I’ll write you.

Orik: Oh, you won’t have to worry about that. I’m coming with you.

Orik walks on past, but Eragon stops and stares at him, a somewhat disappointed and shocked look on his face.

Eragon: Are you serious?

He continues to follow him.

Scene switches to Eragon and Saphira walking outside of Tronjheim early in the morning. They see Hrothgar and Arya waiting by the gate into the mound. They approach them.

Hrothgar: Ah, good, glad to see that you are here. That just leaves Orik.

Saphira: T. If I know Orik, he’s probably still asleep, snoring away.

Hrothgar: Eragon, there is something I would like to ask of you.

Eragon: What is it?

Hrothgar: Well, now that things are changing and the Varden now have claim on you Clears throat and stutters. … well, that is, your services… I was wondering if you wanted to be a member of our dwarf clan.

Arya gives a sharp look at Eragon, who is forced to look away from her.

Hrothgar: That is, an honorary member. It is a great honor to be even asked. There have only been a handful of non-dwarves that have ever become a member of a clan.

Arya: There’s never been an elf before!

Hrothgar gives a small grunt at this statement.

Eragon: Of course I would. And I do consider it an honor to be asked.

Arya rolls her eyes and gives a huff.

Hrothgar: Good, good, and as a token of your alliance…

Hrothgar reaches into his robe and pulls out a small box. He opens it and inside is a necklace with a hammer hanging off. He hands it to Eragon.

Hrothgar: Here is a necklace of great power. Never take it off. A spell has been placed upon it so that whoever wears it cannot be scryed. That is that no being who uses magical ways to see you from far off will see you. Magical beings such as Galbatorix.

Eragon: Thank you so much. Is there any way that we can repay you?

Hrothgar: There is actually one way.

Hrothgar turns to Saphira.

Hrothgar: Saphira, I trust by now that you know you have upset the delicate pride of my dwarf clan, and rightly so. When you distracted Durza by shattering the Isidar Mithrim, you committed an unjust act. You destroyed one of their most prized possessions, and you have no idea how much effort it will take to make another. But, they have agreed to forgive you under one condition. Can you repair the shattered sapphire?

Saphira: T. Well, dragon’s fire is a powerful thing, and I believe that I could wield it back into one form.

Hrothgar: Excellent! I will hold you to your word then, Saphira. You will fix it when you return from your training at Ellesmera.

Eragon: Ah, and there comes Orik.

Orik walks up with a pack on his back, panting heavily under the weight.

Orik: I’m ready to go. I’ll show those elves that dwarves are much stronger than they are.

Orik stumbles over backwards under the weight of his pack.

Arya: Clearly.

Hrothgar: Well, this is it. Good luck and farewell.

They turn and begin walking away. The camera scrolls up into the sky.

Scene 7- Proposal- 3:00

Scene switches to Roran sitting in Horst’s dining room with many other men of Carvahall.

Morn: I say we give him up! If it’s Roran they’re after, we shouldn’t have to pay for it! I admit that we did a fine well job at getting back at them, but it’s carrying on long enough!

Horst: Easy, Morn! You know that we’re not going to give up Roran after all him and his father have done for us!

Baldor: Then what do you suggest we do, father?

Horst: I do not know, son. Roran, do you have any suggestions?

Roran: I still say we fight! I’m not the only one in danger! After that plunder last night, Carvahall has doomed itself to Galbatorix’s wrath, and it will not be an easy trip. First, I would suggest fortifying the village, in case they return.

Sloan: Which they’re bound to.

Roran: After that, we prepare for battle.

Scene switches to men walking around the village with tools and barrels. Some dig ditches, while others stack logs on top of one another. Roran is seen pushing a wheelbarrow of weapons down the street, tossing each man a weapon. He looks down one alley and sees Katrina alone. He leaves the wheelbarrow and walks up to her, taking her hands. When she faces him, we see that she has been crying.

Katrina: Roran, you shouldn’t be here! You’ve got work to do, and if father finds us here…

Roran: I have to talk with you, Katrina. It’s important!

Katrina: What could be more important than saving your hometown?

Roran: I can name several right now, if you’d like.

She smiles at him.

Katrina: You really are the man of my dreams.

Roran: Katrina, I’m no prince charming. I’m a poor farmer’s son who’s barely making it in the world and who will send Carvahall to its doom. I’m the reason for all this pain.

Katrina: No, Roran, have you not noticed? Everyone respects you as a leader, now. They’re always asking your advice. They would not make it through this if it were not for you.

Roran: I don’t know if any of us will make it through this. Katrina, I have something to ask you, something I’ve been meaning to ask for a long time now. I have naught to give you but my love, but still I must ask: Will you marry me?

They stare into each others eyes.

Katrina: Yes, Roran, I will.

They embrace one another. Sloan is seen peering around into the alley, frowning.

Scene 8- His Enemy’s Face- 5:00

Scene switches to the clouded sky. Thunder roars and lightening crackles. It starts to rain.

Scene switches to the men of Carvahall including Roran standing behind houses and in the road with their weapons watching the foggy road. They hear a noise like a horse’s snort and then out of the fog ride two figures on horses: the Ra’zac. They stop when they see the barrier of logs, their horses sniffing and neighing. Soldiers come out of the fog as well and stop. One of the Ra’zac takes out a small vial and throws it at the barriers. There is a large explosion and the barriers blow apart. The soldiers and Ra’zac run into the village. The villagers run to meet them and begin fighting. The soldiers send arrows in all directions killing several villagers. Roran swings his hammer and kills a soldier. Horst jabs with his pitchfork and other villagers hit the soldiers with wooden boards and planks. The Ra’zac swing their swords from atop their horses. There are more fighting scenes. Roran hears a scream and turns to see one of the Ra’zac hoisting a screaming Katrina onto his horse. He begins to gallop away, but Roran runs and leaps onto the horse, knocking the Ra’zac and Katrina off. Roran takes the creature by the throat and tries to strangle him, but the Ra’zac punches him in his face. Roran takes the hood of the creature and pulls it back revealing a cruel and twisted face with a long beak and lidless eyes. The creature screams and bites Roran on his shoulder. Roran screams out in pain. The Ra’zac throws Roran off, grabs Katrina, and runs out of the village. There is a low horn blow and the soldiers follow it out of the village. Horst runs over to Roran who is lying on the ground.

Horst: Roran, are you okay? What happened?

Roran: The Ra’zac! They’ve taken Katrina! We must go!

He gets up and darts out of the village.

Horst: Roran, come back!

Horst runs after him. They run down a trail and hide behind a bush. Peering over it, they see the soldiers’ camp with the soldiers sitting around the fire. The Ra’zac exit their tent with Katrina and Sloan following them. Katrina is bound, but Sloan is not.

Roran: Whispering. Sloan! He must have betrayed us!

Horst: Shh! What are they saying?

Ra’zac #2: We will be leaving now to take these prisoners to Galbatorix.

Sloan: Prisoner! I am no prisoner!

Ra’zac #1: Silence!

The Ra’zac slaps him in the face.

Ra’zac #2: You soldiers will stay here and make sure that the villagers do not escape the valley.

Empire Soldier #1: But what about food? We’re nearly out of food! We’ll starve if we stay here much longer.

Ra’zac #1: There is another troop of soldiers on their way here from Uru’baen. They will bring fresh food and supplies.

Empire Soldier #2: But…

Ra’zac #2: Hush! They are coming!

A slight breeze stirs the trees. Everyone looks up into the sky. Two shadowy figures descend from the sky, covering the full moon as they go. They land by the camp and it is revealed that they are the Ra’zac’s winged mounts. Their lidless eyes sparkle in the fire as they look around at the soldiers, who back away. They hiss and snap at them. The Ra’zac put Katrina and Sloan on each one and they themselves get on, too. There is a hiss, a screech, and then the mounts take off into the sky.

Scene 9- Tarnag- 4:45

Scene switches to a bright light. Eragon walks up into the light. He, Saphira, Orik, and Arya exit the cave and the door shuts behind them. An open meadow valley stretches before them that slopes down to lake. On the side of a mountain rises the dwarf city of Tarnag.

Orik: Ah, finally, we have reached the dwarven city of Tarnag, the capital of our religion.

Arya: I’m just glad to be out of that hole in the ground.

Orik frowns at her.

Saphira: T. At last I can stretch my wings!

Saphira stretches out her wings and flaps them up and down, stirring up the dirt. They begin walking toward the city. They pass large goat-like creatures eating grass in the meadows with their dwarf owners standing beside them or riding them.

Orik: The city of Tarnag was once abandoned by the dwarves when they hid from the wrath of Galbatorix. It was left a ruin, but now we have once again claimed the land and have rebuilt the city. See how the city rises on many levels upon the mountainside? Only dwarves could have had the skill and craft to do that, you know. And that dome that resides on the top of the city is the Celbedeil, the dwarves’ greatest temple. We will stay with the chief, Undin, while we are here.

They walk on down the path and the camera stops on a goat eating grass.

Scene switches to them entering the city and making their way up the road. Many dwarves stare and follow them as they walk. Finally they reach a palace near the top and from the door of the palace comes a dwarf in royal robes.

Undin: Ah! You have finally come, Eragon Shadeslayer! We have been waiting for you with the greatest of anticipation! I am Undin, chief of the dwarf tribe that resides here in Tarnag. Come, you have had a long journey through the darkness. Prepare the feast!

Scene switches to nighttime out in a large courtyard lit with torches and candles. There is a long table set out and everyone is gathered around it talking and laughing. Saphira sits on the ground at the end of the table. Some dwarves are off to the side playing music.

Dwarf #1: Bring out the Narga!

A door opens and out of it comes five dwarves carrying a huge boar on a platter. They take it to the table and set it down.

Eragon: What is that?

Undin: That is a Narga! It is a large boar native to the Beor Mountains.

All the dwarves grab at the Narga. Arya lays back in her chair and roles her eyes at the sight of the savage dwarves.

Undin: Ah, here comes the wine!

A pair of dwarves walks around the table carrying a huge barrel of wine and pour it into each one’s cup. After they fill Arya’s cup, she gently pushes it aside. When they reach Saphira, she grabs it with her teeth and drinks it all down. Everyone laughs. She burps up blue fire that lights the sky and everyone roars with laughter. Undin turns to Eragon.

Undin: So has the meal pleased you?

Eragon: Yes, it was excellent!

Undin: Good, good! It is a pity that you will be leaving soon! I really meant to show you more of our dwarven culture. But enjoy the night while you’re still here, okay?

Scene switches to Orik at the table with another dwarf. Both are drunk.

Dwarf #2: At least my mother didn’t marry a hog!

Orik: Is that a threat?

He hobbles up and puts his fist in the air, clumsily.

Orik: Do you want to fight?

The other dwarf stands up too and puts his fists in the air.

Dwarf #2: Give me your best shot!

They both stare at one another and then fall over drunk. Everyone roars with laughter. Scene fades on Eragon laughing.

Scene 10- Down the River- 8:45

Scene fades into an aerial view of the city of Tarnag. The sun is just rising.

Scene switches to Eragon and Saphira walking down a dock to where two boats float. Arya, Orik, Undin, and other dwarves are already there.

Undin: Good morning, Eragon, Saphira. I pray that you slept well last night.

Eragon: Yes, we did.

Undin: Good. Now supplies are on the ship. I will have a few of my dwarves sail with you to the edge of Du Weldenvarden where the elves will meet you. They will take you into the heart of the forest to Ellesmera. It was a most pleasurable meeting, Eragon, and may you have a safe journey. Farewell.

Scene switches to the boats slowly moving away from the dock and out into the lake. Undin waves from the docks.

They journey on down the river, through the mountains and out into the wide grasslands.

Scene switches to Eragon walking up to Saphira on one of the boats. Orik sits in the background smoking his pipe. Saphira is staring into the water. Eragon follows her gaze and sees a fish in the water. Then, suddenly, Saphira dips her tail down into the water, trying to catch the fish, but it slips away. Eragon laughs.

Eragon: What’s the matter, Saphira? Have you lost your sense of aim?

Saphira: T. Think you can do it better, do you? Go on and try, then!

She swooshes her tail around and knocks Eragon off the boat. He comes up out of the water gasping for air as Saphira laughs. Orik gets up and comes over to them.

Orik: Hey, that wasn’t fair for him!

Saphira: T. Would you like to join him, then?

She swooshes her tail around once more, and knocks him in also. He flops and splashes in the water alongside Eragon.

Orik: Help! Help! We dwarves can’t swim! Help us up! Help!

Saphira: T. Oh, alright!

She dips her tail in the water and pulls them up. As Orik gasps for air on the deck, Eragon gets up, laughing, and then he sees Arya who is standing on the edge of the boat by herself, gazing at the water. Saphira splashes him with water, though, and he turns back to Saphira.

Scene switches to the boats chugging along through the water. Eragon and Saphira are outside on the deck. Suddenly, Eragon feels a sharp sting and falls to the ground, gasping for air.

Saphira: T. Eragon, what’s the matter?

Eragon reaches into his shirt and pulls out the necklace that Hrothgar gave him. It is red and hot and Eragon fumbles with it in his hands.

Eragon: It’s the necklace! Someone just tried to scry me!

As they gaze at the necklace, it cools and returns to its normal color.

Saphira: T. Who do you think it was?

Eragon does not reply. He merely gasps for air and stares at the necklace.

There are several more scenes of them riding down the river.

Scene switches to the setting sun. Eragon exits the boat cabin and sees Arya.

Eragon: Arya, supper is ready in the cabin.

She does not answer. He slowly walks up to her. She stares on to the sunset.

Eragon: Is there anything wrong, Arya?

Arya: Nothing that concerns you. You wouldn’t understand.

Eragon: What could be wrong? You’re sailing on a ship to your home. You’ll get to see your family.

Arya: That’s just it. I don’t want to see my family. And they don’t want to see me either. It’s difficult to explain. If I told you, you would never think the same of me again.

Eragon: Arya…

Arya: Just go, Eragon.

He turns away and leaves her. She turns and watches him walk away. Then stares back at the sunset.

Scene switches to many other scenes of the boats floating down the river.

Scene switches to the boats floating down the river. In the distance is Du Weldenvarden.

Scene switches to Eragon and Saphira on deck gazing at the forest.

Saphira: T. There it is, Du Weldenvarden. Are you prepared for what awaits in the gloom of it?

Eragon: Telepathically. Yes, I am. I am ready to continue my training.

Saphira: T. It is as I have said. Brom would have been proud.

Eragon smiles.

Scene switches to the boats entering a small lake in the river. The trees come right up to the bank of the water. There is a low fog that lies on top of the water. The forest is dark. Everyone is out on deck looking around suspiciously. There is soft singing from somewhere.

Orik: Do you hear that? They’re singing an ancient spell upon us. We’re all going to be cursed, the rotten devils!

Out of the fog on the water floats two thin canoes, each with an elf in it. The singing stops and the boats float right beside one another. One of the elves steps out of their boat and onto the dwarven boat.

Nari: Welcome to Du Weldenvarden, travelers from the south. I am Nari and this is my companion Celdin.

Celdin: How do you do?

Celdin nods his head and everyone nods back. Nari looks at Eragon.

Nari: You must be the new Dragon Rider we have heard so much about, Eragon Shadeslayer. It is an honor to meet you.

Eragon: It is an honor to meet you, too.

Nari looks at Saphira.

Nari: And you must be Saphira, the brave dragon. My how elegant you are, beautiful being, yet you are strong as well.

Saphira: Smiles. T. I’m flattered.

Nari looks at Arya.

Nari: Arya?! Could it be? I have not seen you for a good many years! Queen Islanzadi will be surprised.

He bows to her, and she bows to him. Nari looks at Orik.

Nari: And who are you, dwarf, that you come so near the forest of the elves.

Orik: I am Orik and I’ve been ordered to see to it that the elves do a fine job at getting him trained.

Nari: Indeed. Best stay on your guard, dwarf. No telling what magic we have up our sleeves.

Nari winks at Eragon, who smiles.

Nari: We will take you now in our own boats. Eragon and Arya will ride with Celdin, and the dwarf… will ride with me.

Orik: Suit yourself.

They all climb into the boats.

Nari: I am sorry, fair Saphira, but you will have to either swim or fly. But I am sure that you would prefer these to riding in boats.

Saphira: T. That I would.

She lets out a roar and takes off into the air. The elves smile at her.

Nari: Come on, then. Best be going.

The boats begin to float away from the dwarven boats that begin to sail back to their home. Camera scrolls up from the floating boats to the tree tops that stretch on to the horizon.

Scene 11- Journey to Surda- 4:45

Scene switches to an aerial view of Farthen Dur.

Scene switches to many Varden men and women walking around carrying baskets and wheelbarrows full of items for their journey to Surda.

Scene switches to Nasuada and Hrothgar walking through the settlement.

Hrothgar: Nasuada, are you sure that leaving Farthen Dur is the safest thing to do? Sure, Surda has been a close ally of the Varden, but there is talk of war in those parts. Many of the citizens there are wishing to come open with the Empire and fight them. You would not be escaping war.

Nasuada: I do not wish to escape from war, Hrothgar. I think that by seeking refuge in Surda, we will be able to have closer bonds with King Orrin and his people. They will serve as great allies in the war that is to come.

Hrothgar: Are you sure that King Orrin is not too… too out there already. They say that he stays within his laboratory all day long, fiddling with bottles and liquids. It sounds like a mad man to me!

Nasuada: It is simply science that he deals with, and I know that he can seem to be a little odd at times, but he has helped the Varden so much over these past years. That is why we shall leave tomorrow for the land of Surda. You and your dwarves are welcome to journey with us, if you please.

Hrothgar: Oh, no! We dwarves prefer to stay here in our stone halls with our many jewels and gems. We could never leave here. And besides, what if you’re ambushed along the way?

Nasuada: If that is to happen, then we shall fight to our deaths, me included. We shall leave at dawn. Nothing will stop us.

They stop and Hrothgar stares at Nasuada.

Hrothgar: You truly are the daughter of Ajihad.

They smile at one another and then walk on.

Scene switches to the sun rising up over the Beor Mountains.

Scene switches to Nasuada walking down a line of Varden citizens. She happens to spot Angela, the witch with Solembum on her shoulder. She walks up to her.

Nasuada: Angela, is it? Why are you here?

Angela: I am going to journey with you. Where there is much is occurring, there will I be also. And besides, I feel that I might be needed on this journey.

Nasuada: Why do you say that?

Angela: Because… the clouds tell me.

They both look up into the sky and see no clouds. Nasuada looks at Angela suspiciously.

Nasuada: Very well, then.

Nasuada walks on to the front of the line where a white horse awaits her. She climbs up on top of it and Hrothgar appears at its side, looking up at Nasuada. The dwarves stand in a crowd around the long line of Varden citizens.

Hrothgar: I suppose this is it, then. No turning back?

Nasuada: No turning back. Farewell, King Hrothgar.

She bends down and kisses him on the forehead. He nods and then backs away.

Nasuada: Shouting. Soldiers, sound the horns. We’re moving out.

Scene switches to many soldiers on horses raising their horns and blowing into them, sounding a deep hum. Slowly, the line of Vardens begins to move toward a dark tunnel in the wall of the volcano. Nasuada looks back only once and then turns back around. Hrothgar waves to them and to his right is seen a bird which flies up and away into the sky. The camera follows the bird up over the mountains. It swoops down and we see the long line of the Varden as they make their way through the mountain passes. The bird continues to fly and it soars around a mountain, losing sight of the Varden. When it circles back around the mountain, it is raining and lightning. It swoops down at the Varden.

Scene switches to Nasuada riding her horse in the rain. The wind is howling greatly.

Nasuada: Shouting over the storm. We have to keep moving! Come on, people of the Varden! Whispers to herself. There’s no turning back.

Scene 12- King Orrin- 4:30

Scene switches to Varden soldier on horse. He rides through the mountain passes just a little ahead of the rest of the Varden. He rounds a corner and stops looking ahead, but the audience does not see what he is looking at. He blows a horn and rides back to the rest of the Varden.

Varden Soldier #1: Shouting. Surda! We have reached Surda!

Many of the Varden begin to smile at this wonderful news. They begin to whisper excitedly among themselves. The soldier rides up to Nasuada who rides on her horse ahead of the rest.

Varden Soldier #1: My lady, Nasuada, the city of Aberon in Surda lies just beyond that curve in the path! We have made it!

Nasuada smiles.

Nasuada: Thank you, my soldier.

They ride on around the curve and continue on into Surda. The camera scrolls up over them and looks on ahead into the far, flat land of Surda. In the distance lies the city of Aberon. Many of the Varden children run on ahead, while other people are hugging one another and singing and jumping with joy. Nasuada bows her head.

Nasuada: Whispering. Thank you, Ajihad, my father, for looking over our safe passage.

Scene switches to an aerial view of the city of Aberon.

Scene switches to the inside of the city’s walls. The Varden file through the gate, while the citizens of Aberon cheer for their welcome. Nasuada rides her horse in and then climbs off of it, handing the reins to a soldier. She looks up at the castle and sees a man peering out of a window. The man then turns away from the window. She stares at it, and then walks out of the picture.

Scene switches to her walking down a hall in the castle. She walks up to a door, puts her hand up to knock the door, pauses, and then goes on and knocks. A voice calls from the other side of the door.

King Orrin: Come in!

Nasuada opens the door and enters a room full of tables that have many bottles and smoke and vapor coming from them. She walks on down the room, looking at all of the strange sciences occurring. King Orrin rounds the corner of a table.

King Orrin: How may I help…?

He sees that it is Nasuada and smiles.

King Orrin: Nasuada!

Nasuada: King Orrin!

They run up to one another and hug. They pull away from one another.

King Orrin: My child! How you’ve grown! Last I saw of you, you were just a wee little girl! But now you are a strong and devoted lady!

Nasuada: And you’re still playing with bottles, I see!

King Orrin: No! No! It’s science, my dear, science! The thing that will propel this world in the future! Well, I see that you have had safe passage through the mountains! No troubles, I presume.

Nasuada: No, sir, none at all!

King Orrin: Good, good! Your father would be very proud! It was a shame that he had to die! Especially in these days! But I’m sure that you will lead the Varden just as well as he did!

Nasuada: I will try my best. I want to thank you for allowing the Varden to stay here during the war.

King Orrin gives a shocked cough.

King Orrin: War? War? Is that what you think I allowed the Varden here for, was to join them in a war. Nasuada, I intend to live my life as my father and grandfathers did: fighting Galbatorix in secret. I do not intend on fighting him openly. I am merely allowing you a place to hide.

Nasuada: No war? How can you say that? There is a war brewing outside the very boundaries of this land, and you say that there is no war? What a coward! The time has come, Orrin to make your stand! Surda can no longer hide in secret! Galbatorix already suspects that Surda is involved with the Varden. You cannot keep hiding!

King Orrin: I can and I will! Sighs. I think it is time that you go now, Nasuada.

Nasuada frowns and walks down the room and through the door, slamming it as she goes. King Orrin sighs and begins looking at his bottle again.

Scene 13- Ellesmera- 7:45

Scene switches to Nari, Celdin, Eragon, Arya, and Orik riding in boats down the river in a forest. Saphira swims behind them. They suddenly hear soft singing in the forest. Eragon looks suspiciously into the dense forest, but sees nothing.

Eragon: What is it?

Celdin: It is our kinfolk. They sing to the trees to make them grow. We draw close to Ellesmera.

The river turns a corner and we see a large harbor lit with lights on poles. Many elves stand on the bank of the river watching them silently as they make their way up to the docks. Once they reach them, the elves reach out and grabbed the boats, tying them down. They all climb out of the boats, while Saphira climbs up onto the bank of the river, shaking off the water, which gets all over Orik, who grunts. All of the elves stare silently.

Nari: This way.

They all make their way up a narrow, dirt path. The elves from the dock follow them, staring. They finally come into a village square of sorts. All around them, for as long as they can see are hundreds of houses formed out of trees. They stop.

Nari: Awake, Ellesmera! The Dragon Rider has arrived!

At first, there is no sound. Then, slowly, hundreds of elves make their way from behind tree trunks and out of houses. They slowly gather around the travelers and stare, saying nothing. Nari leads the travelers further into Ellesmera and up to a massive tree house lit in lively lights. From a door of this house, at the top of many steps formed by the roots of trees, appears a bright light. The light begins descending and when it dies down a tall, female elf stands before them, Queen Islanzadi, along with several handmaids and servants. Islanzadi is dressed in a radiant dress that shines above all else.

Saphira: T. Queen Islanzadi.

All of the elves bow, including the travelers. Islanzadi lifts her hands, and everyone gets up. Islanzadi smiles, until she sees Arya. She reaches out her arms.

Islanzadi: Oh, Arya, my daughter, I have wronged you!

Arya: Mother!

Arya runs up to her mother and embraces her. Islanzadi holds her tight and a single tear rolls down her cheek. Eragon looks at Saphira.

Eragon: Telepathically. Arya’s the daughter of Queen Islanzadi? She’s a princess?

Islanzadi kisses Arya and pulls away from her.

Islanzadi: Oh, my daughter, you have returned to me! I am so sorry.

Arya: Mother, it is I who has wronged you! I was immature! I am sorry.

Islanzadi: Bless you child, bless you.

Islanzadi looks ahead at the other travelers.

Islanzadi: You are Eragon Shadeslayer? We have heard much about you. Welcome to Ellesmera.

Eragon nods.

Eragon: Thank you.

Islanzadi turns to Saphira.

Islanzadi: And you are the noble dragon, Saphira. Welcome to you, too. It is an honor having you stay with us.

Saphira nods. Islanzadi turns to Orik and frowns. She walks up to him, and stares down at him.

Islanzadi: There has never been one of your race here in our halls. Why have you come?

Nari: Please, your majesty, we told him to turn back, but he insisted on coming.

Orik: I was sent here by King Hrothgar to make sure that Eragon has proper training!

Islanzadi: We promise that he will have a proper training, for my kind will train him. But seeing as that you are here to stay, welcome to our land.

She turns to Eragon.

Islanzadi: Come, there is much to do, and so little time. Follow me now to the Crags of Tel’naeir.

Scene switches to Islanzadi, who is barefoot, leading Eragon, Saphira, Arya, and Orik through the forest. They pass over rocks and large boulders, and walk around thick tree trunks. There is a rustle in the leaves of the trees and they all look up to see a white raven fly out of the sky and land on Islanzadi’s outstretched hand. She smiles at the bird and walks on. The bird keeps croaking.

Blagden: Wyrda! Wyrda! Wyrda is upon you!

Finally, they come to an open area on the edge of a large cliff. Beyond the cliff lies a deep valley and a waterfall and mountains in the distance. Islanzadi turns back to them.

Islanzadi: Behold, the secret of the elves.

There is a slight breeze that stirs the trees and the grass. They all look out beyond the cliff. Then, there is a deep roar that sounds throughout the valley. Eragon stares in awe and a huge shadow rises up and covers him, but the audience does not see what is causing the shadow.

Scene14- Rousing Carvahall- 4:15

Scene switches to a hazy vision of the Ra’zac’s storm through Carvahall. We see Katrina being taken off from the village. Roran runs after them. We see the slow descent of the winged beasts and then the Ra’zac taking her away in the night on the beasts. The Ra’zac give a screech. We hear Katrina’s voice echo.

Katrina: Roran!

Scene switches to Roran waking up, his body drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. He looks around and finds that he is alone in a bedroom in Horst’s house. It is daylight outside.

Scene switches to Roran walking out of Horst’s house, a determined look upon his face. He passes Horst, Baldor, and Albriech.

Horst: Hey, Roran! Where might you be off to this morning?

Roran: Follow me!

Roran keeps walking into the village. Horst and the boys slowly follow him.

Baldor: Whispering to Horst and Albriech. What’s he doing?

Horst: Whispering. I don’t know, but he’s sure up to something.

Roran looks around at them, still walking. Then he turns back and begins shouting to the nearby villagers.

Roran: Come, my friends! Follow me! To the village center! Come, quickly!

Several people look up from their work at him. Slowly, they all begin to follow him as he makes his way up to the large platform that stands in the center of the village. Soon, a large crowd is following him. He climbs up onto the platform, takes a deep breath, and turns around to face them all. They all stare at him in silence. During his speech, there are various shots of Roran talking and members of the village watching him.

Roran: Shouting to the crowd. Galbatorix’s wrath lies upon Carvahall. This I have seen. This I know. My father was killed by those demons that plagued our village just the other night. Many others have died because of them, as well. You know who sent them? The king! The old king on his throne sent them here! I know now the true nature of Galbatorix and the Empire. They are vile, cruel, and utterly evil. Don’t you see? Galbatorix seeks to poison all of Alagaesia. He will burn our lands, destroy our homes, and kill our loved ones. There is no way out of this evil…unless we resist. True we have fought the Ra’zac, those desecrators from hell, but is that enough? Will that thwart the mad king? No! We will have to do more, move to the core of the problem. I will not stay here and die like a trapped mouse. I will leave Carvahall, forever, if I must. I will cross those mountains there, the Spine, and take a ship from Narda down to Surda, where I will join them in their conquest against the Empire. But I do not wish to go alone. Come with me. Come with me there and fight for the freedom we deserve. Come and be rid of the evils of this land forever. A hundred years from now, the people of this land will recite our saga. “The Epic of Carvahall” they’ll call it. Will your name be in it? Will you stand with me in what is bound to be the final struggle of the world? So join me in the final conquest. Please.

He pauses, letting everyone think. No one talks. He pants and begins to look disappointed.

Horst: Roran, that is enough for now. Let us have time to think things over. Give us until tomorrow.

Roran: Tomorrow. Those of you who wish to join me will meet tomorrow at the edge of the village. Thank you.

Roran steps down from the platform and begins to walk away. There are a few more scenes of villager’s heads bowed low, thinking.

Scene 15- Exodus- 4:00

Scene switches to the sun rising up over the Spine.

Scene switches to Roran walking through the foggy village. He stops when he comes to the edge of the village. He looks up at the Spine and the rising sun, and then sighs.

Roran: Whispering to himself. What have I done?

Baldor: Don’t worry, Roran, you’re not going alone.

Roran turns and sees Baldor and Albriech walking up to him with backpacks and bags on their shoulders.

Roran: Smiling. Baldor, Albriech! I’m so glad to see you!

Albriech: We wouldn’t let you journey through the Spine by yourself. But, we had to sneak out of the house. I don’t know if father is going to be all that pleased with our decision.

Horst: And why wouldn’t he be?

They all turn to see Horst and Elain walking up to them, also carrying their belongings.

Horst: Roran, it took me a little while to think about what you said yesterday. I didn’t know who to trust. Now, I believe you. Your father would be proud, Roran.

Roran smiles as Horst pats him on the back.

Roran: Thank you. But, Elain and the baby, they can’t go. Isn’t due sometime soon?

Elain: Smiling and clutching her pregnant stomach. It will be fine, Roran. I’m stronger than what you think.

Roran looks around at them, and his smile fades into a frown.

Roran: I guess this is all, then. Best start now.

Brigit: Think again.

Once more, they all turn to see several people approaching them. Even when they reach them, more people begin to emerge out of the fog. Roran smiles.

Roran: Brigit! You decided to come?

Brigit: Aye! I recognized the same drive in you that lies within me. We both want the Ra’zac dead.

Roran smiles at her and then moves on to Gertrude who stands beside Brigit.

Roran: Gertrude! I’m so thankful to have the village healer come with us.

Gertrude: Chuckles. My dear boy, you don’t think that old women can make adventures, too?

Roran laughs and then moves on to Fisk, who stands beside Gertrude. Fisk holds a long, wooden pole in his hands.

Roran: Fisk, what is this that you’ve got?

Fisk hands Roran the pole.

Fisk: Tis’ a walking stick, Roran. Made it myself last night. When the road is steep and your foot is slippery, use this to keep your balance, less you find yourself lost.

Roran runs his hands down the walking stick.

Roran: Thank you, Fisk. Now, I shall not stumble.

Roran turns back to Horst.

Horst: I, too, have something for you, Roran.

Horst hands him a long hammer.

Horst: This is the very hammer you used to defend Carvahall. Thought it might be handy latter on.

Roran: Thank you!

Scene switches to Roran and Horst standing on a low hill under the mountains. They gaze down at the large crowd of villagers.

Horst: You’ve got nearly the whole of Carvahall under your power, Roran. That’s got to be saying something. Now, only one thing left to do. Lead the way, Roran Stronghammer.

Horst pats Roran on the back and they turn back to the mountains and stare at the path that winds up into them. Roran takes a final sigh.

Roran: Whispering to himself. I’m coming Katrina.

Roran begins walking up into the mountains. Slowly, the crowd of villagers behind him begins to walk. Wagon wheels begin to turn. Goats let out grunts as they begin to be tugged along on their leashes. Children look back at the village while holding their mothers’ hands. They all begin their way up into the Spine.

Scene 16- The Anger of Galbatorix- 2:30

Scene switches to Galbatorix gently petting Shruikan, who hums with pleasure. Galbatorix turns and we see that the Ra’zac are there with Sloan and Katrina bound in chains. Galbatorix makes his way down from the dais.

Galbatorix: My loyal servants. You have failed me. Yes, I know of what happened in Carvahall. I have most recently received word that the boy fled the village along with most of its people. Those few who remained were killed, the village burnt.

Galbatorix stops in front of the two Ra’zac and stares into their hoods.

Galbatorix: I didn’t want those few who remained. I wanted the boy!

Galbatorix takes his staff and hits one of the Ra’zac on the head, who falls to the ground. He then takes the end of the staff and stabs it into the hood of the other Ra’zac, who also falls to the ground. The Ra’zac give out screeches of protest.

Galbatorix: Get up, you beasts!

Galbatorix spits on them, as they stand back up.

Galbatorix: Did you do anything good while in Carvahall?

One of the Ra’zac lets out a cackle and gestures to Sloan and Katrina.

Galbatorix: I care not for those others! I care not for these captives! Kill them! Eat them! I don’t care! Do what you wish with them! I have not need for them!

Galbatorix begins to turn away.

Sloan: My king, sir, your Excellency! We are not just villagers of Carvahall. My daughter here, she is engaged to the boy, Roran, of whom you seek!

Katrina: Father!

Galbatorix stops and then turns back to them. He then looks at the Ra’zac.

Galbatorix: Forget what I said before. Take them to Helgrind and imprison them there. I must think more on the matter. In the meantime, I shall send out a warrant for the arrest of this farm boy who has escaped me. He will not survive long out there in the wild. Besides, I have a more powerful weapon than him to lure the boy Rider.

Katrina: And what is that?

Galbatorix: Another new Rider.

Galbatorix turns and walks away, leaving Katrina horror struck.

Scene 17- The True Last Dragon Rider- 8:15

Scene switches to Eragon staring in awe and a huge shadow rising up and covering him, but the audience does not see what is causing the shadow. Then, a large, shadowed figure rises up from the valley below and covers the sun. It then lands with a thud on the cliff and we see that it is a huge, golden dragon with an elven Rider on its back. The dragon grunts when it lands, and we see that one of its legs is missing. The Rider is smiling. All stare in awe as the Rider climbs off of its dragon and walks up to Eragon. The golden dragon walks away, and Saphira eyes him, and then slowly walks over to it.

Oromis: We meet once again, Eragon Shadeslayer.

Eragon: Once again...? Have we met before?

Oromis: Yes, can you remember?

Eragon thinks and then looks at the Rider.

Eragon: You’re the Morning Sage, the Cripple Who Is Whole. You’re the one who saved me after the battle.

The Rider nods.

Oromis: Yes, I am the Morning Sage, the Cripple Who Is Whole, but from now on you will call me Master Oromis.

Eragon: Master…?

Islanzadi: Yes, Oromis is going to be your mentor, now. He will take up where Brom left off.

Oromis: How else did you expect you were to receive more knowledge of the Ancient Language and so forth? I am a Rider, Eragon, and my dragon’s name is Glaedr. We are both cripples.

Oromis touches his head.

Oromis: The Forsworn broke something within me when I was their captive. I am still able to teach and learn, but I cannot use magic, other than simple spells and incantations.

Eragon: The Cripple Who Is Whole.

Oromis nods. Oromis’s voice is a voiceover while a short scene between Saphira and Glaedr takes place.

Oromis: That is why I have not been able to make myself known. I know I was sorely needed, but I cannot fight with the likes of Galbatorix. Not now.

Saphira nudges her head up against Glaedr. He grunts and turns away. Saphira smiles and nudges him again. He growls at her and snaps a little. She backs away.

Oromis: Glaedr, come!

Glaedr walks over to him and gets down low, allowing Oromis to climb up on him.

Oromis: Come, Eragon and Saphira. We have much to talk about.

Eragon walks over to Saphira and gets on her.

Eragon: Where are we going?

Oromis: To my home, Shadeslayer, deep within the Crags of Tel’naeir.

Glaedr roars and then leaps into the sky, Saphira close behind him. Eragon looks back at Orik, Arya, Islanzadi, and the white raven on the cliff.

Saphira: T. Can you believe this, Eragon? There is actually another Rider and dragon! We’re not alone!

Eragon: Telepathically. Yes, it really is amazing!

Saphira: T. Another dragon! One of my own kind!

Eragon: Telepathically. Yes, but control yourself, Saphira. Don’t be getting too jumpy around them.

Saphira: T. Oh, hush! Wee!

Saphira lets out a roar and dives down into the valley, doing all sorts of flips in the air and curves and dives.

Eragon: Telepathically. Saphira!

Scene switches to the two dragons flying through the valley, a river flowing beneath them. Birds shoot into the air and fly with them.

Scene switches to a wide and tall waterfall. A cliff lies next to it with a nice hut on it. The two dragons land on the cliff, and the Riders slide off of their dragons.

Oromis: Welcome to my home, Eragon and Saphira. You will come here every morning at sunrise and leave every evening at sunset. During this time I will teach you all that I can about swordsmanship, magic, language, and other such skills that will help you defeat your enemies. Each morning you will bathe to relax your muscles and each evening you will bathe to clean your sweat. Saphira will go with Glaedr each day and they will train in the ways of dragons, learning to fly in awkward positions and breathe large burst of fire and hold it that way for sometime. But we will start that tomorrow. For right now, I want to see what you know. Lift that small boulder over there and hold it in the air for as long as you can. Concentrate and relax.

Oromis backs away. Eragon looks at the boulder that sits a few feet away. He raises his hand to the boulder.

Eragon: Stenr reisa.

Eragon’s scar on his hand glows blue. The boulder begins to wobble and then it begins to move up. Everyone stares. Eragon begins to sweat as the boulder is lifted a few inches off the ground, then a foot, then two feet. Finally, there is a sudden flash of red, and Eragon lets out a yell. The boulder falls back into place, and Eragon falls to the ground.

Saphira: T. Eragon!

They all run up to him, and he moans and groans in pain. They see blood dripping onto his white tunic. Oromis rips off Eragon’s tunic and turns him over on his back. The large scar where Durza had cut him has been cut open, blood pouring out of it. It is a fire red color, like it is on fire. Eragon cries out in pain one more time, then there is another flash of red, and the screen goes black.

Scene fades into Eragon lying on his back, bandages around his back and front. He sits up and finds that he is in Oromis’s hut. Oromis walks up to him.

Oromis: I am glad to see that you are alive and awake. You gave me a shock when I saw that cut. A cut from a Shade, no doubt. Perhaps Durza?

Eragon moans.

Eragon: Yes, it was from Durza. When we were fighting at Tronjheim, he cut open my back. The healers weren’t able to fix it.

Oromis: I see. That explains so much. Eragon, that cut is likely to never heal. You will never be able to use strong magic as you wish in battle without it affecting you. You are a cripple, just as me and Glaedr.

Eragon: You mean it’s like a part of me, much like yours is a part of you and Glaedr’s is a part of him. It’s even like Murtagh’s scar is a part of him.

Oromis: Murtagh? Why do you speak of him? He is the son of Morzan, one of the Forsworn. You do not share that much alike.

Eragon: How did you know all of that?

Oromis: Morzan, before he became one of the Forsworn, was my pupil, as well as Brom. They were both very good Riders, I must admit. But I feel that I failed in both of them. Brom would always cling to Morzan and praise him for his works. It was not until Morzan joined Galbatorix that Brom forgot him. But not everything in life can blossom. There are some things that wither away. After Morzan left, I gave up mentoring altogether, that is, until you came along.

They stare at one another briefly. Then, Oromis helps Eragon get up. They walk out of the hut to see the sun set over the waterfall. Glaedr and Saphira watch them from a few feet away.

Oromis: Come, now, Eragon. It is time for you to go. We will continue our training tomorrow. In the meantime, why not have a look around Ellesmera. You might find out some interesting things.

Eragon climbs onto Saphira.

Eragon: Thank you, Master Oromis.

Saphira lets out a roar and jumps into the sky. They fly into the sunset.

Scene 18- The Menoa Tree- 6:00

Scene switches to Eragon and Saphira walking down a path in the forest. Saphira’s stomach growls.

Saphira: T. Sorry. I’m just so hungry.

Eragon: Telepathically. Why don’t you go and find some fresh meat in the forest. Go on. I’ll be alright.

Saphira: T. Alright, if you insist.

She flies up into the sky. Eragon continues to walk on down the path. There is a squawk and a rustle in the trees. The white raven flies down and lands on a branch beside the path. Eragon stops and looks at it. He slowly approaches it.

Blagden: Wyrda! Wyrda! Wyrda is upon you!

Eragon: Excuse me?

Blagden: While two may share two, and one of two is certainly one, one might be two.

Eragon: What?

The white raven leaps into the air and flies off.

Blagden: Wyrda! Wyrda!

Eragon stares after it, wondering.

Scene switches to a large open area in the forest. A massive tree stands in the center. Several logs sit around it. Arya sits on one of them, gazing up at the tree. Eragon enters the open area. Arya turns toward him.

Arya: Eragon. Have you come to gaze upon the ancient Menoa Tree, also?

Eragon: Arya, I didn’t see you there.

Arya: Come, sit by me.

Arya pats the log she sits on. Eragon walks over to her and sits beside her.

Eragon: Arya, I didn’t know you were a princess! Why didn’t you tell me?

Arya: I had my reasons. You would not have thought of me the same.

Eragon: Yes, I would have.

Arya sighs.

Arya: Think what you like.

A light wind disturbs the leaves in the trees.

Eragon: Arya, who was that bird that came to Islanzadi on the way to meet Oromis?

Arya: Who, Blagden, the white raven. He is a bird with a story. My father, Evandar, king of Ellesmera, once fought in the struggle against Galbatorix. During one of his fights, a black raven saved his life by distracting his foe long enough to kill him. My father, being grateful for the raven’s help, gave to it intelligence and long life. However, the spell turned his feathers white and gave him the strange power to predict things. Why do you ask?

Eragon: Oh, nothing. What happened to your father, King Evandar?

Arya: He died not long after that in another fight against Galbatorix.

Eragon: Oh, I’m sorry.

There is a brief pause in which they stare up at the massive tree. Vines hang from it and the leaves are as big as a human head.

Eragon: What did you call this tree?

Arya: Tis’ the grand Menoa Tree, a great landmark of the elves.

Eragon: The Menoa Tree?

Scene switches to a hazy flashback of Solembum in Teirm.

Solembum: T. Listen closely and I will tell you two things. When the time comes and you need a weapon, look under the roots of the Menoa Tree. Then, when all seems lost and your power is insufficient, go to the rock of Kuthian and speak your name to open the Vault of Souls.

Scene switches back to the present. Eragon stands up and walks up to the tree. He glides his hands down the bark of the tree. He turns back to Arya.

Eragon: Tell me of this mighty tree.

Arya: Alright, then.

Arya’s voice is a voiceover with the hazy flashbacks scenes that follow.

Arya: Thousands of years ago, a fair elf named Linnea once dwelt here in Ellesmera. Everyday, she would devote her time to what she did best: singing and caring for the plants and trees in the forest. She was not married and had no children, and grew old.

Scene switches to a hazy flashback of Linnea walking through the forest and singing to the plants. She smiles.

Arya: But when a gentle male elf came knocking on her door and poured out songs and words of love, she left her ways to be with him. For a time they were happy.

Scene of hazy flashback continues to a male elf knocking on her door and singing. She looks out of the window, smiling. They walk down a path together laughing and holding hands.

Arya: But when the man left her for another woman, she lost all that was dear to her. In her anger, she stabbed the man till he was dead.

Scene of hazy flashback continues to the male elf walking down a forest path alone at night. Linnea jumps out at him with a knife and begins to stab him.

Arya: Knowing that she had done evil, Linnea fled here, to the oldest tree in the forest and sang herself into it. For three days she sang, until she was one with the tree. And so she has been ever since.

Scene switches to Linnea running up to the Menoa Tree and hugging it, crying. She begins to sing, and slowly she sinks into the trunk of the tree. The hazy flashback fades away.

Scene switches back to Eragon and Arya at the Menoa Tree.

Arya: So, whose fault was it to blame?

Eragon: Both. He did wrong to her, yet she left what was dear to her for something only temporary.

Arya: They were simply not made for one another.

They stare up at the tree. There are inaudible whispers that seem to come from the tree. Arya stands up.

Arya: Come, Eragon Shadeslayer. There is someone I wish for you to meet.

Eragon looks at her. Then, they depart the area. There is one final look at the tree, looming over all else.

Scene 19- A Rider’s Sword- 4:00

Scene switches to Eragon and Arya walking down a path in the forest. They turn and walk through a door in a tree. On the other side of the tree, the path opens to a large courtyard of sorts. An old, female elf works on a stone table in the center making chain mail. Eragon and Arya walk to the table, yet the old elf does not look up from her work.

Arya: Rhunon? Rhunon, I bring you the new Rider.

Rhunon stops her work and looks up at them with old, vague eyes. She stares at Eragon.

Rhunon: I heard you were dead!

Eragon looks taken aback.

Arya: You don’t get out enough, Rhunon.

Rhunon: Last I left this place was when you forced me to go to that blasted Midsummer’s Feast three years ago! I have too much work to do around here to go off to parties.

Eragon: Why do you physically labor your work? Why don’t you just use magic instead?

Rhunon: Then, my accomplishments would mean nothing. Accomplishment only comes when one works for it. Now, I suppose you wish me to forge a sword for this Rider? I told you I wasn’t to make anymore instruments of death! Never!

Eragon: But I already have a sword.

Eragon takes Zar’roc out of its sheath. Rhunon gaps at it in wonder. She holds out her hands.

Rhunon: May I?

Eragon hands her Zar’roc. She runs her hand up the red blade, admiring the work.

Rhunon: Zar’roc, I remember thee.

Eragon: You know of Zar’roc?

Rhunon: Of course, boy! I’m the one who made it, along with nearly every other Rider’s sword, including Galbatorix’s. But I did not expect to ever see this sword again. Only a few of my original swords remain: Naegling, Oromis’s sword, Galbatorix’s, and two others that elven families were able to save from the Fall. But now Zar’roc has returned to me, also.

Rhunon hands Eragon back the sword and he slips it back into his sheath.

Rhunon: Normally, a Rider’s blade matches the color of its dragon, but here is one exception. I heard you killed Durza, the Shade. Were you using this sword?

Eragon: Yes.

Rhunon: Well, at least one good thing has come out of it. Now, be gone! I grow weary of this talk.

Rhunon turns back to her work.

Arya: You will come to the Agaeti Blodhren with me, won’t you?

Rhunon gives a grunt and continues with her work. Arya and Eragon turn around and leave the courtyard.

Scene switches to Eragon and Arya walking down a path in the forest.

Eragon: Arya, what’s that Agaeti Blodhren that you mentioned to Rhunon?

Arya: It is also more commonly known as the Blood-Oath Celebration. It is a grand party held every hundred years to honor our pact with the dragons. It is held under the Menoa Tree. This year is going to be different, though. We will have another Rider in our midst.

They smile at one another and then walk off screen.

Scene switches to Orik walking through the forest, drunk. He is hiccupping and singing to himself. As he passes, the camera scrolls above him and up to the top of a tree where sits a massive tree house of sorts.

Scene switches to inside the tree house. It is dark, until light pours into the room when Eragon opens a door. He walks inside and looks around. A large bed sits in one alcove and a desk sits in the center with many chairs around it. Eragon walks into the bedroom to see Saphira sitting there, waiting for him.

Eragon: Telepathically. How did you get in?

Saphira looks at a large hole in the wall that was made so that dragons could fly in.

Saphira: T. Best get some sleep, little one. We’ve both had a long day.

Eragon smiles.

Scene 20- Elva- 4:30

Scene switches to Nasuada in her office in King Orrin’s castle. She sits at a desk writing and looking over documents. There is a knock on the door.

Nasuada: Come in.

The door opens and Jormundur enters the room. Nasuada stands up in surprise.

Nasuada: Jormundur, what brings you here?

Jormundur: Magic, ma’am, of the strangest kind. Come with me.

Scene switches to Nasuada and Jormundur walking down a hall in the castle.

Jormundur: Nasuada, do you remember the babe Eragon blessed while he was at Tronjheim?

Nasuada: Yes, of course.

Jormudur: Well, apparently he didn’t exactly bless her.

Nasuada: Why? What is wrong?

Jormundur: Well, she’s… different, ma’am, in a way not known. I thought you might find it… interesting.

Scene switches to them walking up to a door. Jormudur knocks on the door, and then opens it. He gestures for Nasuada to go inside. She enters through the door, and he closes it behind her. It is a large chamber with many alcoves. The walls are covered in dark purple velvet and the windows are covering with purple curtains. As Nasuada looks around, we can see her breath as if the room is cold. The room has no furniture in it and a single, dim chandelier hangs overhead. Angela stands to one side of the room. A small, pale girl sits in the center of the room, picking at a platter of food. Her back is turned to Nasuada. She sets the plate on the floor.

Nasuada: Where is this baby?

The child turns around and Nasuada steps back with a small shriek as she looks into the child’s face. She has large, violet eyes and smiles a big smile. Nasuada sees the dragon mark on her forehead. When she speaks, she has an adult voice.

Elva: Hello, there. I am Elva.

Nasuada takes a step back, fear on her face.

Elva: No, don’t run! I am your friend.

Elva pats the floor.

Elva: Please, sit. I have been waiting to talk to you.

Nasuada looks at Angela, who nods. Hesitantly, Nasuada sits on the floor.

Elva: More food!

An old woman comes into the room from another door and takes the empty plate away. She leaves the room. Elva turns to Nasuada and put her hand to Nasuada’s face.

Elva: You are a good leader, Nasuada. Ajihad could not lead the Varden the way you have. You’re name will be praised centuries from now for your bravery and leadership. Your father would be proud.

Elva takes her hand away. Nasuada’s eyes begin to water and she stares at the child.

Nasuada: What are you?

Elva: I am what Eragon made me. Eragon did not mean to, but when he blessed me using words of the Ancient Language he said, ‘Let luck and happiness follow you and may you be a shield from misfortune,’ instead of, ‘may you be shielded,’. You see, I am now a shield from misfortune that is fixing to befall a person. When I sense that they are in danger, I am forced to try and protect them, no matter what the cost. I hurts me greatly if I resist. I want to help the Varden and fight for them. I am with you, Nasuada. That is all.

The old woman comes in with another plate of food. Elva begins to eat it. Nasuada stares at her and then stands up. She looks at Angela and beckons for her to follow her. Both of them exit the room and into the hall.

Nasuada: Angela, what is this child?

Angela: She is as she said she was. All she does is eat and eat.

Nasuada: Has this ever happened before?

Angela: No. I tried to predict her future, but it was but a quagmire. Lovely word, quagmire.

Nasuada: Angela, she needs to be guarded.

Angela: The closest person she would come to killing is herself.

Nasuada: No, no. We need someone to look after her and keep her safe. Would you look after her, Angela?

Angela: Yes, I suppose I could.

Nasuada: Good. Thank you. We need her safe from any and all harm that might come her way. I feel she will play a key role in the events that are to come.

Angela: As do I.

Scene 21- The Secret Lives of the Ants- 6:15

Scene switches to the sun rising up over Du Weldenvarden.

Scene switches to Oromis exiting his hut, the sun rising in the distance. Glaedr stands on the cliff outside the hut. Saphira suddenly lands on the cliff and Eragon slides off of her. Eragon bows to Oromis.

Eragon: Master Oromis, I am here to begin my training.

Oromis: Yes. Now, Glaedr will take Saphira further into the Crags so that they may train alone.

Glaedr walks over to Saphira.

Glaedr: T. Come with me.

They walk to the edge of the cliff and then fly out and away deep into the Crags. Oromis gestures to Eragon.

Oromis: Come, we will begin your training now.

Oromis turns and begins to walk through the forest behind his hut. Eragon follows him.

Scene switches to them walking down a path in the forest. Finally, they reach a clearing in the center of which sits a large stump. Oromis gestures toward the stump.

Oromis: Sit.

Eragon looks at Oromis inquisitively and then sits on the stump.

Oromis: Now, close your eyes and open your mind. Listen to the world around you. And when you hear no more, come back to my hut and tell me what you have learned.

Oromis turns and begins to walk away. Eragon stares after him, takes a deep breath, and closes his eyes. The scene fades to black. Eragon’s whispering voiceover is heard.

Eragon: Open my mind. Open my mind.

Slowly there is a soft, scurrying sound.

Eragon: What’s that? It sounds like feet.

The scurrying sound continues and gets louder. There is a few, very brief flashes of red dots that move across the screen to the rhythm on the feet.

Eragon: Yes, I believe it is. It is feet. But what are they.

The noise continues.

Eragon: It’s… it’s ants! Yes, I believe that’s it.

More flashes of red dots come across the screen.

Eragon: Yes, yes! That’s it! I can sense it now! An entire army of ants! They’re gathering food and taking back to their hole. Yes, yes, yes!

Suddenly, the blackness ceases and we see Eragon sitting on the stump opening his eyes. He jumps up excitedly and runs off screen.

Scene switches to Eragon standing in Oromis’s hut. Oromis is sitting at a table looking at Eragon.

Oromis: Ants? Ants? Is that all you saw?

Eragon: Well, yes, master.

Oromis sighs.

Oromis: I believe that you have not understood all that I meant for you to. Go back to the stump and try again.

Eragon looks at Oromis.

Eragon: Yes, master.

Eragon turns away.

Scene switches to Eragon entering the stump clearing again. He goes to the stump and sits, closing his eyes. Scene fades to black, again. We can hear Eragon’s whispering voiceover.

Eragon: Open my mind.

The scurrying noise of the ants begins again. The red dots dance across the screen.

Eragon: Okay, there are the ants. But I need something else.

A large dot of brown falls from the top of the screen and hits the bottom it. There it stays.

Eragon: What was that?! I think… I think it was an acorn falling from its branch. Yes, it has to be.

There is a louder, deeper scurrying than the ants and a set of orange dots moves across the screen and stops by the nut.

Eragon: I know what that is! It’s a squirrel!

The orange dots grab the brown one and hurry off the screen.

Eragon: That squirrel took that nut! I’ve got to tell Oromis about this!

Scene switches to Eragon standing in Oromis’s hut again. Oromis stands with his back turned to Eragon, but the audience can see his face.

Eragon: And then the squirrel came and took it!

Oromis: Try again!

Eragon sighs and slumps out of the hut.

Scene switches to the dark, blackness again. We can hear Eragon’s voiceover once more. We can hear and see the ants move and the squirrels run after each other.

Eragon: There are the ants and the squirrels. What else is there to see?

A blue dots moves quickly across the screen with a chirp.

Eragon: Of course! The birds!

Scene switches to Eragon and Oromis in the hut. Oromis shakes his head.

Oromis: Go back!

Scene switches to the dark, blackness again. We can hear Eragon’s voiceover once more. We can hear and see the ants move and the squirrels run after each other and the birds flying across the sky.

Eragon: Listen, Eragon, listen! What do you hear?

A few khaki dots jump across the screen.

Scene switches to Eragon and Oromis in the hut.

Eragon: Deer?

Oromis shakes his head.

Scene switches to the dark, blackness again. We can hear and see the ants move and the squirrels run after each other and the birds flying across the sky and see the deer jumping across. There is a green line that slithers across the bottom of the screen.

Scene switches to Eragon and Oromis in the hut.

Eragon: Snakes?

Oromis points to the door and shakes his head.

Scene switches to the dark, blackness again. We can hear and see the ants move and the squirrels run after each other and the birds flying across the sky and see the deer jumping across. There is a green line that slithers across the bottom of the screen and a series of blue waves that go across the screen. A slight ripple shakes the screen. We can hear Eragon’s voiceover.

Eragon: Think… listen… know… see… understand… sense… what… is… IT!

Finally the black ceases and we see Eragon on the stump opening his eyes with a smile across his face.

Eragon: I’ve got it!

Scene switches to Eragon and Oromis in the hut.

Eragon: Master Oromis, I know what it is! I could not only sense the animals, but I could sense the wind and the very life in the trees around me. I could sense everything.

Oromis looks up at Eragon.

Oromis: Very good! I was beginning to think that you’d never get it! Yes, you are absolutely right. I had you sense everything around you so that you will know that it is important for you to do so. By doing this, you can detect whether the person in front of you is about to kill you or help you. You can also detect things that you can’t quite see, until they are upon you, such as a surprise attack from the rear. Trust me, this use of magic can come in handy during a battle. Very good!

There is a roar from outside.

Oromis: It appears that our dragons have returned from their training. We will continue our training tomorrow. Well done, Eragon Shadeslayer.

Eragon: Thank you, Master Oromis.

Eragon turns away and exits the hut.

Scene 22- Lectures- 6:00

Scene switches to a group of elves walking through the forest. Two elven children come running up in between them, laughing and playing. Eragon sits on a rock, Saphira by his side, looking at them as they run away in their play.

Arya: Children are very rare in Ellesmera.

Eragon and Saphira turn to see Arya and Orik walk up behind them.

Eragon: Why’s that?

Orik: Probably because elves don’t like to have too much fun.

Arya frowns at him.

Arya: It is simply because we remain pure at heart. When male and female elves marry, they are bonded for a lifetime, unlike the fragile balance in human and dwarven kind. Soon, the children grow and become adults. Tell me, Eragon, how old do I appear to you?

Eragon: I don’t know. Twenties… thirties.

Arya smiles.

Arya: I am over a hundred.

Eragon’s mouth drops open.

Scene switches to Eragon and Oromis in the hut. Oromis takes a scroll and unfolds it before Eragon, who sits at a desk. Many fine characters have been written on the page.

Oromis: Tell me, Eragon, how much do you know of the Ancient Language.

Oromis walks over to a large candle stand on top of which is a candle. He lights it with magic.

Eragon: Quite a bit, master, but I’m sure not as much as you wish for me to. The most I’ve said in the Ancient Language was when I blessed a child at Farthen Dur.

Oromis turns to him.

Oromis: You blessed a child? With what words?

Eragon: I said, ‘Atra gulia un ilian tauthr ono un atra ono waise skolir fra rauthr’. It means, ‘Let luck and happiness follow you and may you be shielded from misfortune’.

Oromis sighs and closes his eyes.

Oromis: No, it does not, Eragon.

He looks at Eragon who returns the gaze.

Eragon: What do you mean?

Oromis: You used the wrong suffix. You actually said ‘Let luck and happiness follow you and may you be a shield from misfortune’. Instead of blessing her with protection, you cursed her by making her be a shield for others, offering herself as a sacrifice so that others will not be harmed.

Eragon gaps in horror.

Eragon: I… I didn’t mean to! Honestly!

Oromis: I’m sure you didn’t. But, still, we can only guess at what horrible fate is to befall that young girl.

Eragon: If there was anyway I could undo the curse, I would!

Oromis: I’m sure you would. But there is nothing we can do about it, at the moment. Let us not speak of it again.

Eragon: Yes, master.

Oromis: Now, we will begin the Ancient Language with you learning the Liduen Kvaedhi, the Poetic Script, as it is known as in your tongue. Now, I have provided you with ink and parchment. I want you to just copy the figures on the other page as you see them. Begin.

Eragon takes the pen and begins to write the figures on a blank piece of parchment before him. Oromis flips through a few other scrolls off in the corner. Eragon looks up at the wall to see a large picture hanging there. On it is a massive city with white walls and a green landscape surrounding it.

Eragon: Master Oromis, where is that picture depicting?

Oromis looks at the picture and smiles.

Oromis: Oh, I see you have been intrigued by my fairth of Ilirea.

Eragon: Your what of what?

Oromis: My fairth of Ilirea.

Oromis walks over to the fairth.

Oromis: A fairth is a picture made with magic. Riders could simply visualize a scene in their mind and then use magic to copy it onto the tablet. This is my own fairth of the city of Ilirea. Ilirea was capital of Alagaesia before Galbatorix came to power. Both elves and Riders would come and train here. But, when Galbatorix held a siege against the city, we could do not but flee to Du Weldenvarden. He took Ilirea and corrupted it, naming it Uru’baen. Yes, Uru’baen was once Ilirea. He stripped away all the beauty in it, though. He moved in his vengeance, his army, and his group of corrupted creatures. You have met them. They are known as the Ra’zac.

Eragon: They killed my uncle and Brom.

Oromis: Yes, I know. Ra’zac lay eggs, like dragons, but when the young hatch, they are pupae. They soon grow exoskeletons that mimic human form, allowing them to come close to their enemies without alarm. They can see through the night and move faster than most dragons can. But they do have their weaknesses. Bright light pains them and they are absolutely terrified of deep water, for they cannot swim. On the full moon of their twentieth year, they shed their exoskeletons, spread their wings, and emerge as the killing adults they were born to become.

Eragon: You mean those winged beasts that they ride on are really… their parents?

Oromis: Yes, it’s true. Of course, their parents are not called Ra’zac. No, they are called Lethrblaka. They are simply a foul and twisted image of a dragon. Us Riders tried to kill them all several decades ago, but those two and their pupae lived and hid from us. Galbatorix sought them out and bargained with them. Now, they are on his side completely. That is the truth of your enemy.

There is a short pause between them.

Oromis: Now, continue writing, Eragon. We have much else to learn today.

Eragon begins to write again. Scene fades out.

Scene 23- Narda- 4:45

Scene fades into a wide shot of the Spine at night. Firelights dot the surface of the mountains.

Scene switches to Roran, who has grown a small beard. He is in the mountains peering over a fallen log. The village camp lies behind him. Horst walks up to him and peers over the log. Down below is a small village with a high wall around it.

Horst: Is that Narda?

Roran: Yes.

Horst: So that means we’ve made it across the Spine?

Roran: Exactly.

Horst: Well, what do we do now?

Roran: In the morning, I will take you, Baldor, and Gertrude down into the village to gather supplies and see if we can rent a boat.

Horst: What if they recognize you? I’m sure word has spread of the flight of Carvahall.

Roran: Do you think I grew this beard for nothing?

Suddenly, there is a screech from the sky. They both look up.

Roran: The Ra’zac! Quick, flush out the lights! Spread the word!

Many villagers start to run around, as the screeches continue. They put out the fires with water and stamp them out. Many people grab bows and arrows and swords.

Scene switches to a broad view of the Spine. The lights slowly go out, one by one.

Scene switches to Roran and the villagers looking at the sky, waiting. The Ra’zac’s cry can still be heard.

Scene switches to a Ra’zac on a Lethrblaka. It flies over the sea, screeching and hissing.

Scene switches to a donkey in the camp neighing.

Scene switches to the Ra’zac turning, listening.

Scene switches to Roran turning to the donkey, lifting a bow and arrow, and firing it. It hits the donkey, who falls over dead.

Scene switches to the Ra’zac turning back and flying away.

Scene switches to Roran breathing a sigh of relief.

Scene switches to the sun rising up over the land.

Scene switches to Roran, Horst, Baldor, and Gertrude walking through the gate of the village. As they walk through the Narda, Roran sees a billboard with a poster wanting the arrest of Roran and Eragon. In the picture of Roran, he does not have a beard. Roran stares at them and walks on.

Scene switches to Roran walking up to a man on the village dock. Three barges sit at the side of the dock.

Roran: Excuse me, sir. Are these your barges?

Scene switches to the sun setting over the sea.

Scene switches to Roran standing on a rock in the middle of the camp. Everybody is looking at him.

Roran: While I was in the village this afternoon, I was able to get three barges that are on their way to Teirm. The owner has agreed to secretly allow us onto the barges in the morning. We will have to sneak in, though, and hope we are not caught.

Scene switches to the barges floating on the water.

Scene switches to part of the Carvahall citizens climbing onto the barges. The men are helping the women and children onto the ships.

Scene switches to the man that Roran had talked with. He walks up to Roran on the docks.

Clovis: You better not try to overtake me and my crew while we’re on this journey! I’m warning you, I’ll get the Empire after you!

Roran: Don’t worry; we’re just thankful for your services, Mr. Clovis.

Suddenly, sirens begin to blare throughout the city. Roran looks in horror and then runs to the barges. He jumps on one and begins untying the rope that holds the barge to the dock.

Roran: Hurry! Hurry! They know we’re here!

Suddenly, all of the village men begin to help untie the rope. Roran looks up and sees three Empire soldiers run out onto one of the docks and begin to shoot arrows at them. Baldor pulls out his bow and arrow and kills one of the soldiers. The dead soldier’s body falls off the dock and into the water. Clovis takes the wheel and begins to turn it. Finally the barges begin to move out from the docks.

Roran: Hurry! Come on! Let’s go!

One of the Empire soldiers runs out onto the dock that the barge was hooked to. Roran pulls out a bow and arrow, just as the soldier jumps off the dock and tries to land on the boat. Roran shoots the arrow and hits the soldier, who falls into the water. His body floats away, the arrow sticking out of it. Roran looks at the body and then looks out to the sea.

Roran: Whispering to himself. Katrina, I’m coming.

Scene 24- The Blood-Oath Celebration- 8:45

Scene switches to a full moon at night over Du Weldenvarden.

Scene switches to a large group of elves gathered around the Menoa Tree, Arya, Eragon, Saphira, and Orik among them. Islanzadi walks through a line between the crowd, holding a white orb. She walks up to the Menoa tree and breathes onto the orb which lights up and begins to pulse. She places it carefully into a hollow in the tree and backs away. She turns to the crowd of elves.

Islanzadi: May the Blood-Oath Celebration begin!

Music suddenly starts and the elves begin singing and dancing around the tree. Eragon and Arya join the dance, but Orik and Saphira sit to the side. Eragon beckons to Orik.

Eragon: Come on, Orik! Join the fun!

Orik: No! No! There is no way that this dwarf is going to join in to any wild ritual of any elf. Why, if the other dwarves knew that I was here, they would…

Saphira gives him a nudge with her nose and he goes flying into the crowd where he is caught up in the dance. Eragon and Arya laugh. Saphira sits to the side humming and moving her head to the music. Many elves’ feet can be seen hanging from the branches of the trees as they point to the shooting stars in the sky. Some elves stand around Glaedr.

Elf #1: Come on, Glaedr! Do it again!

Glaedr takes a deep breath and shoots a burst of golden fire into the sky. All the elves laugh and smile. Camera fades out on fire.

Camera fades into the group of elves gathered around the Menoa Tree. In the center in front of the Menoa Tree are a few elves. One is dressed like Eragon; another like Durza; another like Saphira; and another like Arya. While they perform, the crowd watches closely.

Durza Elf: You shall die, Eragon!

Eragon Elf: No!

Pieces of glass drop down on them from above. Saphira Elf and Arya Elf come into the scene. Durza Elf looks at them.

Arya Elf: Eragon!

Durza Elf: What?!

Eragon Elf takes his sword and pretends to stab Durza Elf in the heart.

Eragon Elf: Death to you, Durza!

Durza Elf gives a cry and falls down, pretending to die. The crowd stands up and begins to cheer and clap. All the actors stand up and take a bow. Arya smiles and pushes Eragon to the front of the crowd. Eragon gazes at the crowd of elves who eye him closely.

Eragon: I have a… a poem I wished to say: In the kingdom by the sea, In the mountains mantled blue, On frigid winter’s final day, Was born a man with but one task, To kill the foe in Durza, In the land of shadows, And thus it was, And thus it is, That I that man may be, For I, the Rider, journeyed there, To the land of shadow, And I killed the one named Durza.

Eragon sits back down in the crowd and the elves applaud him. Two female elves dressed in leaves designed like a dragon come out before the crowd. Music begins to play and the two begin to dance. The song and dance is mesmerizing and Eragon begins to watch them more closely. The dragon appears like it is moving in and out between them, and suddenly, it springs from their dresses and begins to fly in and out between them. Then, the dragon apparition flies out and stops in front of Eragon. Everyone is eyeing them suspiciously.

Arya: Eragon, your hand.

Eragon looks at his hand and sees the scar begin to glow.

Dragon Apparition: T. Yes, hold out your hand.

Eragon hesitantly puts his hand out to the dragon. The dragon slowly inches closer and closer to Eragon’s hand.

Dragon Apparition: T. This is your gift from the dragons.

The dragon moves forward and touches the scar. There is a crack of light and the dragon apparition vanishes. There is a flash of red. A scene of Durza. Eragon falls in pain. Another flash of red. The dragon apparition. Eragon cries in pain. A flash of red. The scene goes black. There is a whisper.

Dragon Apparition: T. Our gift to you.

Scene fades in on Eragon asleep in his bed in the tree house. He moves and then sits up in bed. Saphira and Arya stand beside his bed. The stars are shining brightly in the sky outside.

Eragon: What happened? Did you see that dragon too?

Arya: Yes, I did, as well as everyone else.

Eragon: What happened? I… I don’t feel the same.

Saphira: T. Take a look in the mirror.

Eragon looks at them suspiciously. Then, he climbs out of bed and slowly makes his way up to the mirror that is hanging on a wall. A look of awe comes across his face when he sees his new reflection. He glides his hands up over his new pointed ears and rubs his face over his hairless face. He looks at Arya and Saphira.

Eragon: I… I feel stronger! I feel energized! And… my back…

He turns back to the mirror and lifts his shirt to look at his back. Durza’s scar is no longer there.

Eragon: The scar! It’s gone! I’m healed! I’m like… like an elf now!

Arya: Yes, you look much better.

Eragon stares at Arya, and then moves toward her.

Eragon: And so do you. You look beautiful.

Saphira: T. Eragon! No!

Arya: Excuse me?

Eragon: Yes, it’s true! You… you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!

Arya: Eragon, no!

Eragon: Oh, Arya, why won’t you have me? See, I’ve changed! Will you have me now?

Arya: Eragon! I’m nearly a hundred years older then you! And of a completely different race! What are you thinking?

Eragon: Please! Please!

Arya: No! Eragon, we are not meant for one another. My feelings for you are that of a friend. Stop pursuing this quest of yours! It will only bring you heartache!

Eragon: Why must you be so cruel?

Arya: I’m not being cruel! I’m just pointing out the facts.

There is a silent pause.

Arya: I will be leaving for Surda tomorrow. We have received word that Nasuada is asking for back up.

Eragon: I’ll come with you!

Arya: No! You will stay here and finish your training with Oromis. And don’t try looking for me when you awake in the morning. I will already be gone. Goodbye, Eragon Shadeslayer.

She turns and walks out of the tree house. Saphira grunts at Eragon and walks away rolling her eyes.

Saphira: T. To herself. Boys! Honestly!

Eragon stares out after Arya.

Scene 25- Teirm- 5:30

Scene switches to several shots of the barges sailing out over the sea.

Scene switches to Roran peering over a large rock down at the city of Teirm. He begins walking back and we see that the barge has been pulled up close to the shore. A few people are off the boat on the shore.

Roran: The city of Teirm lies just beyond the way. I want a few people to come with me into the city so that we might find some equipment for the rest of the journey to Surda.

Fisk: Roran, is there any other way to Surda besides the sea? Many of the people are beginning to despise the crowdedness on the barges.

Roran: Fisk, if there was a way that we could get a larger boat, you know I wouldn’t hesitate another second. But I don’t think that’s possible.

Roran turns to the rest of the villagers.

Roran: Alright, all those going into the city follow me. The rest of you stay out of sight.

Roran and several villagers begin walking in the direction of Teirm.

Scene switches to an aerial view of Teirm in the sun. We see Roran and the rest of them walking through the gates.

Scene switches to Roran and the villagers walking through the city. They pass the docks and Roran looks up to see a massive vessel docked. The name Dragon Wing is painted on its side.

Roran: That’s what we need.

They continue to walk on.

Scene switches to them walking up to Jeod Longshanks’s door. Roran knocks on the door. A man answers the door.

Butler: How may I help you?

Roran: We are looking for a Jeod Longshanks. It’s concerning his auction.

Roran holds out a flier that describes Jeod’s auction.

Butler: Ah, yes. Come in.

They enter the house and the butler leads them into a dim den.

Butler: Mr. Longshanks will be with you in a moment.

The butler leaves the room. After a very short pause, Jeod enters the room puffing his pipe.

Jeod: Good afternoon, strangers. Now, who might you be?

Roran shakes Jeod’s hand.

Roran: Stronghammer, at your service.

Jeod: Aha, and I at yours. Now, my butler mentioned that you had come concerning my auction. Wanting to get into the trading business, are you? A waste of time, if you ask me. It was horrible. Lost four ships in one month. That’s the reason I’m having this here auction.

Roran: Well, we need a great amount of food and whatever else might come in handy for a ship out at sea for a good while.

Jeod: Well, what kind of food?

Roran: Well, we’ll need vegetables and a great deal of meat and such.

Jeod: Exactly how many are you to be feeding? It sounds to me like you’ve got enough for a hundred or more people. But I’ve never heard of such a host around these parts. But now that I’m out of the trade who knows what’s been going on.

Jeod begins to look more closely at Roran.

Jeod: You know, you look awfully familiar. But where would I have…?

An expression of awe comes across his face.

Jeod: You… you’re Roran Garrowsson!

Roran looks at him in horror for a moment.

Roran: How did you guess?

Jeod: Brom and Eragon were here not but a few months ago. You look a lot like your cousin, you know.

Roran: Eragon was here?

Jeod: Aye. And Saphira too.

Roran: Who?

Jeod: Well you don’t know? Roran, I think it’s time we start talking openly.

Loring: Why should we trust you?

Jeod: Because I know answers to many of your questions. And I will tell you them if you tell me the true reason you have come to Teirm.

There is a slight pause.

Roran: Alright, you want to talk?

Jeod: I believe it’d be best if you start first.

Roran: Alright, but if we’re not satisfied with your answer after we’re all done, we’ll have to kill you.

Jeod smiled and crossed his arms.

Jeod: So be it.

Scene switches to an aerial view of Teirm at night.

Scene switches to back inside the den. Candles have been lit all around the room for light.

Jeod: So all of Carvahall is just beyond those hills?

Roran: That’s correct. And Eragon is really the new Dragon Rider?

Jeod: As real as grass is green.

Roran gaps in amazement.

Roran: I can’t believe it! But why would he try and keep it a secret from me?

Jeod: I know not. Perhaps he was trying to protect his family.

Roran pauses thinking.

Roran: Well, a downright good job he did of that!

Jeod: So, you are leading this village to Surda to join in the rebellion against Galbatorix?

Roran: Yes, that is the plan at the moment. But we need another ship, something larger and quicker.

Roran turns to Jeod.

Roran: What do you know of the Dragon Wing?

Jeod: Well, I know that it is one of the fastest ships in the king’s navy. Why do you ask?

Roran: I need that ship. But we’re going to have to fight to get it.

Jeod: You’re mad! There are guards posted on it at all times!

Roran: I know, and that’s the thing. You know this kind of stuff. You’re going to help us steal it.

Jeod pauses for a moment and twirls his beard. Then he looks up at Roran.

Jeod: What did you have in mind?

Scene 26- Escape- 5:30

Scene switches to an aerial view of Teirm at night.

Scene switches to Jeod, Roran, Birgit, and a few other villagers walking down a street and up to the gates to the dock. A few of the villagers are carrying carts behind them with tarps laid over their contents. A guard stands beside it. Roran looks at Jeod and Jeod takes out a scroll and hands it to the guard. He takes a look at it and hands it back to Jeod.

Empire Soldier #3: You may pass.

The group passes him and heads out to the docks where the Dragon Wing looms over all else. Jeod turns to Roran and whispers.

Jeod: It’s a good thing he couldn’t read.

They continue up the docks and stop.

Roran: Alright, start laying out the powder. But be quiet. Bring the rest of it with us.

A few of the villagers take the tarps off some of the carts to reveal several barrels of explosive powder. They begin taking them out and pouring out the contents along the boards or setting the barrels in hidden spots.

Scene switches to a shot of two armed guards patrolling the deck of the ship. The camera scrolls over the side of the ship where we see Roran, Jeod, Birgit, and the other villagers come to stop.

Roran: Alright Birgit, you know what to do.

Birgit nods and begins to climb a rope up the side of the ship. Roran turns around and gazes out into the water.

Roran: And here come the rest of them, just on time.

Scene switches to a few small boats where women and children ride out on the water coming to the docks. The men of the village are swimming beside them.

Scene switches to Birgit’s boots landing on the deck. The guards turn to look at her with questioning glances.

Empire Soldier #4: What are you doing here? This is unauthorized territory.

Birgit: Oh, I didn’t mean to break the rules. I’m just lost. Can you help me?

She smiles and begins moving closer to them.

Scene switches to Jeod, Roran, and the other villagers below.

Roran: Alright, come on.

Slowly, they begin to climb the side of the ship.

Scene switches to the two guards looking at one another and smiling.

Empire Soldier #5: Sure thing!

Birgit: Oh, good. It’s always nice to have strong, handsome men around in the world.

She brushes up against one of the guards and stokes his chest. She starts moving in for a kiss. But then Roran and the rest appear over the side of the ship and the other guard spots them.

Empire Soldier #6: Hey, what do you think you’re doing here?

Roran: Now, Birgit!

Birgit punches the guard in the face and then kicks the other in a certain area. Both fall to the ground. Roran and the others run over to them and begin to tie them up. Birgit spits in one of their faces.

Scene switches to the two guards tied up and gagged. They are sitting on the dock. Roran and Jeod and the other villagers are helping the other villagers out of the water and up the ship.

Scene switches to a guard on a tower in the city. He looks out and sees them all climbing aboard the ship.

Empire Soldier #7: Pirates! Pirates! Sound the alarm!

Another guard begins to blow a large horn on the tower.

Scene switches to Roran on the dock with the others. They hear the alarm sounding throughout the valley.

Roran: Hurry! They’ve spotted us!

The hurry the last of the villagers up the side of the ship and then climb up themselves.

Scene switches to several soldiers bursting through the gate into the docks.

Roran: Hurry, Jeod! Let’s get this ship moving!

Jeod hurries to the wheel and begins to turn the ship. Slowly, the ship begins to move.

Scene switches to the soldiers on the dock. Some of them pause and fire arrows up at the ship.

Scene switches to the villagers lining the railing of the ship holding their bows and arrows. They fire back, killing a few soldiers.

Roran: Light the arrows!

They quickly light the tips of many arrows and aim their bows out to the dock.

Roran: Hold! Hold! Wait till we are a good distance away.

Scene switches to the soldiers on dock rolling up a large cannon. They begin loading it.

Scene switches to the villagers on the ship, including Horst who is holding his bow.

Horst: Roran. The cannon.

Roran: Wait!

Scene switches to the soldiers rolling a ball into the cannon.

Scene switches to Horst.

Horst: Roran, hurry!

Roran: Just wait.

Scene switches to the ship moving further away from the docks.

Scene switches to the soldiers lighting a torch.

Scene switches to Horst.

Horst: Roran!

Scene switches to the soldiers lighting the cannon.

Scene switches to Roran.

Roran: Fire!

The villagers release their arrows. They soar down to the docks, lighting the powder. Abruptly, the entire dock area explodes in a large furl of fire. The soldiers cry and jump into the water.

Scene switches to the villagers cheering and laughing.

Roran: We made it.

Scene switches to the ship moving out into the vast and open sea. The sun is rising.

Scene 27- Uru’baen Unleashed- 5:30

Scene switches to a wide shot of Uru’baen. The sky is clouded and lightning and thunder are seen and heard in the background. We hear Galbatorix’s yell pierce the sky.

Scene switches to the inside of his throne room. Galbatorix stands on his dais looking down on two guards.

Galbatorix: No! How can this be?! He has escaped again!

Empire Soldier #9: My lord, I…

Galbatorix: Silence!

Galbatorix lifts his hand, his scar glowing black. The guard begins to choke and falls to the ground. He gasps for air. Shruikan snorts a black flame.

Galbatorix: I’m growing weary of this little game! It is time for something I should have done long ago! I will send every soul in my castle to kill them all.

Scene switches to the gates of Uru’baen creaking open. Out from its doors marches thousands upon thousands of armed soldiers.

Galbatorix: Voice Over. My will be done in every corner of Alagaesia. I will not rest till all their blood stains the land and mixes with the waters. They will all die.

Scene switches to Galbatorix in his throne room circling a hooded and caped figure. The audience can not see who he is.

Galbatorix: Whom do you serve?

Murtagh: Galbatorix.

Galbatorix: You will lead my army out into the battlefield. You are my last hope. Win me a victory and I shall make you as a god. Fail and I will split your throat. Now go.

Scene switches to the army still marching from Uru’baen. The line of soldiers continues on and on for many miles. There is a roar and a red dragon with the hooded Rider on it flies out over the wall and into the distance. Slowly the gates close once more. Scene fades to next scene.

Scene fades in on Eragon lying asleep in his bed. The camera passes over his face and then drifts off into blackness. A hazy dream flushes before the screen. Carvahall burns while the few remaining villagers flee and run as Empire soldiers set fire to the village. The scream of a Ra’zac can be heard in the distance.

Scene switches to an aerial view of Carvahall. The charred remains of buildings stain the ground and thin strings of smoke rise up from the ashes. A few wolves plunder through the destruction.

Scene switches to Arya, Nasuada, Orrin, and Elva in a tent looking over plans for battle.

Scene switches to a vast army of soldiers from the Empire camping in a desolate wasteland of ash and rock. Lava springs out of a fissure in the plain. There is a flash of red.

Scene switches to Eragon sitting suddenly upright in bed, breathing hard. Saphira looks up at him beside the bed. He looks at her with a face of horror.

Scene switches to Eragon packing several bags on Saphira’s back the next morning. Orik is standing beside her.

Orik: And where are we going again?

Eragon: To Surda, the Varden are in trouble. An army of Galbatorix’s lies just outside their tents. They are planning battle and I need to be there.

Orik: Well don’t you think it’s a little dumb to go off and not tell anyone?

Eragon: I’ve left a letter in the tree house that will explain everything.

Oromis: Have you now?

Eragon turns to see Oromis and Glaedr walking up behind him. Around Oromis’s waist is a large satchel.

Eragon: Master Oromis, I can explain.

Oromis: There is no need to. I too saw the visions of the Varden and Carvahall. I have only to give you these gifts and I will let you be on your way.

Oromis reaches into his satchel and brings out a belt with many gems around it. He hands it to Eragon.

Oromis: This is the belt of Beloth the Wise. While the stones themselves do not possess any power, they can hold magic for the user. Simply by transferring some of your energy each day into the stones, you can save them for use during the battle. The same applies for the ruby that is set into Zar’roc.

Oromis takes out a large bow and a quiver of arrows. He hands them to Eragon.

Oromis: This is a gift from Queen Islanzadi herself. It is an elven bow which she herself sang from the trees. The string will never break and you will be hard-pressed to miss your target.

Eragon: Thank you so much, Master Oromis. I don’t know what to say.

Oromis: Say nothing, for when you talk, time for action is wasted. We will continue your training when you return to Ellesmera.

Eragon climbs up onto Saphira’s back.

Eragon: Oh, I promise, Master Oromis, I will! Come on, Orik! It’s time to go.

Orik hesitantly climbs onto Saphira’s back.

Orik: Must we really fly there? Dwarves aren’t meant to be airborne.

Eragon: It is the fastest way there. I’m sure you’ll get used to it.

Eragon looks at Oromis.

Eragon: Farewell, Master Oromis.

Orik: Farewell, Eragon Shadeslayer. May the stars look over you.

Saphira: T. Goodbye, Glaedr.

Glaedr: T. Goodbye, Saphira. Keep your heart pure.

Saphira gives a roar and leaps into the sky. Orik begins to yell and scream. Oromis watches them from the ground below, smiling.

Scene switches to many shots of the three flying through clouds and over the Hadarac Desert. In between these shots, it shows the belt of gems. One by one, the stones light with power, representing that Eragon is gradually putting his power into them.

Scene 28- The Gathering Birds- 4:15

Scene switches to a wide shot of the Burning Plains. Saphira flies into the shot and sails over the plains.

Eragon: What is this place?

Saphira: T. I smell the faint stench of dragon blood.

Orik: Aye, you should. A great battle was fought here many, many centuries ago, during Galbatorix’s struggle against the Dragon Riders. It was fought solely between dragons. Their fire scarred the land even until this day.

Scene switches to Saphira soaring toward a long line of Varden tents.

Scene switches to Arya, Nasuada, Orrin, and Elva in a tent looking over battle plans. Eragon and Orik walk through the flap, while Saphira pokes her head in. The others look up at them in amazement.

Nasuada: Eragon, what are you doing here?

Eragon: I had a vision that there was to be battle and I came as swiftly as I could.

Nasuada gestures to Orrin.

Nasuada: Very well. Eragon, Orik, Saphira, this is Orrin, king of Surda. He has helped the Varden through many struggles.

Eragon and Orrin shake hands.

King Orrin: It is an honor beyond heaven to have met you, young Dragon Rider!

Eragon: Well, it’s an honor to meet you, too.

Eragon looks down at Elva.

Eragon: I… I know you.

Elva: And I know you. We have a sort of bond, you and me.

Eragon: You’re that girl I blessed at Tronjheim, except I cursed you instead.

Elva: Yes, it is I.

Eragon: I am so sorry for having cursed you in this manner. I swear to you now that if ever I find a way to undo this curse, I will change you.

Elva: It is alright, Eragon. You meant no harm. Besides, I like the way I am. It is me.

There is a slight pause.

Nasuada: Well, getting back to the situation at hand, we have much work to do. Even if we have a chance against those hundred thousand soldiers, it will not come from lying around.

Eragon: A hundred thousand! Where in the world could you get such a large mass of people?

Nasuada: We know not. But I’m sure Galbatorix can find a way. And there is a chance that he himself will appear during this battle.

Eragon: No!

Nasuada: Yes, many of our troops have claimed to have seen a dragon in the camp. And that can only mean that he is out there also…

They all look out of the tent at the Empire’s army.

Nasuada: …waiting to finish us all off.

Scene switches to Eragon walking through the Varden campsite. He passes a cloaked woman with a cat at her feet. Eragon stops and bends down to look under her hood.

Eragon: Angela?

She raises her head and lowers her hood.

Angela: Well, hello Eragon. How have you been?

Eragon: Uh… well… what?

Angela: I understand.

They look out at the army and the rest of the plains.

Angela: Death is passing over this plain. I can feel it in the air. Even Solembum has not been purring as much. And the birds… they are gathering.

Scene switches to a large flock of birds flying over the plains. Several land and chirp and caw.

Scene switches to Eragon and Angela again.

Eragon: Gathering for what?

Angela: A feast.

Scene switches to Nasuada and Eragon walking through the camp.

Nasuada: I have received word that Hrothgar is sailing here with an army of dwarves. I pray that he will make it here in time. Eragon, I must ask you a deep favor. If it is true that Galbatorix will appear in the fight, I want you to face him. None of us have the power to stand and fight against him.

Eragon: Well, I don’t either.

Nasuada: You have more of a chance of holding him off for a while. I know you can do it, Eragon. I have faith in you.

There is a slight pause.

Eragon: Alright, if it is the will of whom I gave an oath to, then I will do my best.

They smile and continue to walk through the camp.

Nasuada: This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for: the time of death and sacrifice. Not all of us will live through to see the sun again. But this has never stopped me before. I go now into battle for my father, Ajihad.

Orik: I go now into battle to smite the army of he who has slaughtered so many innocent people.

Arya: I go now into battle representing the elves of the forest.

Saphira: T. I go now into battle to reclaim the honor of the dragons that died at the hand of Galbatorix.

Eragon: I go now into battle… to do all these and more so that I will see that sun once more.

Nasuada: Then we are together, whatever the risk. Then let us fight.

Nasuada, Arya, Orik, and Saphira with Eragon begin to march out into the plains. Behind them marches to Varden army.

Scene switches to the faces of the Empire’s soldiers.

Scenes of Solembum fighting. He growls and pounces up into the face of a soldier, clawing and ripping it apart.

Scenes of Eragon and Saphira fighting. Eragon stabs a soldier. Nasuada runs up to him.

Nasuada: Eragon, you must destroy those catapults!

Eragon: I’m on it! Go Saphira, go!

Saphira gives a roar and leaps into the sky. She circles the catapults for a moment. During this time, Eragon draws power out of one of the stones around his belt. Saphira then dives down on one, crashing into it and sending the large planks of wood flying in all directions. Eragon destroys another with blue magic while Saphira destroys one with blue fire. The Varden cheer for them as Eragon and Saphira fly through the sky.

Scene switches to an aerial view of the battle. Saphira and Eragon fly here and there. A large ship comes sailing in on a distant river.

Scene switches to the bow of the ship splashing forward through the water.

Scene switches to Saphira and Eragon flying through the sky, watching the ship.

Saphira: T. Is that Hrothgar with his army?

Eragon: Telepathically. No, that’s a ship from the Empire!

Saphira: T. Well, if it’s carrying another backup army, we can’t let it reach the plains.

Eragon: Telepathically. We’ll sink it before it gets here. Come on!

Saphira flies in the direction of the ship. They come closer and closer to it. And just as Saphira is opening her mouth to release fire upon it. Eragon sees Roran and the Carvahall villagers on the deck. Roran is waving his hands franticly.

Roran: No, don’t! Stop!

Eragon: Roran?

Roran: Eragon?

Eragon: What… how… when?

Roran: There’s no time to talk now. I’m going to land my ship up closer and then I and the rest of the village onboard will join the battle. We’ve come to help the Varden.

Eragon: Alright, be careful!

Saphira and Eragon fly back toward the battle. Eragon is gapping in awe.

Eragon: Telepathically. Did he say that he had all of Carvahall with him?

Saphira: T. I believe so!

They fly on back into the battle and land near the Twins.

Eragon: You two?!

Twin #1: That’s right! We’re not dead!

Eragon: But how?!

Twin #2: We were the ones who killed Ajihad in the battle. And then we captured Murtagh and fled back to Galbatorix’s castle. We serve him.

Eragon: Then die you filthy traitors!

Eragon draws out power from a stone and releases a burst of magic on them, but they disappear and reappear behind them.

Twin #1: It’s no use. Even with time, you are still the same pathetic magician boy you were last we saw you!

Twin #2: But we have other places to be right now, so if you’ll excuse us…

The Twins disappear.

Scene switches to Empire soldiers on the bank of the river. The Twins appear beside them as the Dragon Wing pulls to a stop on the river in front of them.

Twin #1: Well, well, well, what do we have here?

Twin #2: Apparently, Galbatorix has sent us some more troops for the battle.

A ramp is lowered down from the ship and over the top appears Roran. He lifts his hammer and runs down the ramp, the rest of Carvahall at his feet.

Twin #1: What?

Twin #2: No, wait!

Scene switches to an aerial view of the plains. On the distant river sails in many long, short ark-looking ships.

Scene switches to Hrothgar standing up on the deck of a ship. Eragon and he meet eye contact. Eragon nods and so does Hrothgar. Then Hrothgar lifts his staff and gives out a battle cry before rushing into the battle as well.

Scene switches to the dwarves fighting in among the soldiers. One runs through spinning his axe and taking out many soldiers. Another launches a spear into the air that falls and penetrates the armor of a soldier.

Scenes of Hrothgar fighting. He spins his staff and then stabs a soldier with it with a yell.

Scenes of Eragon and Saphira fighting. They fight at many soldiers. Then, there is a horn and the beating of drums sounds through the air. Eragon and Saphira look up.

Scene switches to a red dragon with a cloaked Rider on its back descending from the red clouds.

Scene switches back to Eragon and Saphira.

Eragon: Telepathically. That’s not Galbatorix! That’s a new Rider!

They circle the plains before the dragon dives down near the battle. The Rider release huge bursts of red magic onto the battlefield, causing massive fires and large explosions.

Scene switches to Hrothgar. He looks up and sees the dragon and Rider quickly diving down at him.

Scene switches to Eragon watching in horror.

Eragon: Hrothgar! No!

Scene switches to the Rider and dragon swooping down near Hrothgar. The Rider releases a burst of magic upon Hrothgar who disappears in a whirlwind of ash and smoke. When the smoke clears, Hrothgar lies dead.

Scene switches to Eragon.

Eragon: No!

Saphira runs over the Hrothgar and Eragon leaps off her back and runs up to Hrothgar. Eragon puts his arms around the body and begins to cry. The explosions of battle rage around them. Eragon looks up into the sky and sees the red dragon and Rider flying through the air.

Eragon: Telepathically. I will kill you for this! Come on, Saphira!

Eragon leaps onto her back. She gives out a roar and jumps into the sky. They watch as the other dragon rises into the clouds and out of sight.

Eragon: Telepathically. Follow them!

Saphira: T. Will do!

Saphira soars up into the red clouds. They become engulfed in a vapor of red cloud. They continue flying through it, while Eragon draws more power from his belt.

Eragon: Telepathically. They must be around here somewhere!

Suddenly, the red dragon dives from out of the cloud and tackles Saphira in flight. Together, they fall out of the clouds, wrestling and biting and clawing at one another. Finally, they separate and fly in opposite directions.

Eragon: Saphira, are you okay?

Saphira: T. I’m fine! Just concentrate on the battle!

Eragon: Right!

He looks up and sees the dragon soaring through the sky. Saphira turns her flight and begins heading toward the dragon. The dragon begins flying toward Saphira. After a moment, they collide in air once more, wrestling and roaring. The red dragon grabs hold on Saphira’s neck with his teeth. Saphira roars in pain.

Eragon: Saphira!

Saphira struggles to break free. She swoops her tail around and hits the dragon on the head. She does this a second time and the dragon loses its grip. Saphira breathes a burst of flame into the dragon’s face. Finally, they break apart and fly in opposite directions.

Eragon: Saphira, you’re hurt!

Saphira struggles to stay in flight.

Saphira: It’s alright, Eragon. I’ll be okay.

Eragon: Just hold on, Saphira. We’re going to get through this. I have a plan.

Scene switches to the red dragon and Rider swooping in close to Saphira. The Rider releases a burst of magic at the Saphira. It hits her in the back where Eragon should have been, but he is not.

Scene switches to Saphira’s tail, where Eragon holds on.

Eragon: Telepathically. Now, Saphira!

Saphira swooshes her tail, and Eragon is hurled off of it and at the Rider. They collide and the Rider and Eragon fall of the red dragon and down to the ground. They struggle with one another while they fall. Saphira appears beside them, diving. The red dragon appears on the other side, diving as well. Together, they all fall. Finally, the two Riders hit the ground hard at a place a little ways from the rest of the battle. The force at which they hit the ground sends each of them hurtling in opposite directions. Parts of their armor fly off and they finally come to rest lying on the ground. Eragon breathes heavily, before slowly getting up. He turns to the other Rider who struggles to get up as well. The Rider’s helmet has been knocked off. The Rider slowly turns to Eragon and Eragon sees that it is Murtagh.

Eragon: No!

Murtagh lifts his hand, his scar glowing red.

Murtagh: Thrysta vindr!

Eragon is knocked several feet into the air, only to land hard once more. Murtagh slowly approaches Eragon, who looks up at him.

Eragon: Why, Murtagh? Why did you betray us?

Murtagh: I had no choice. Once the Twins captured me at Farthen Dur, they took me back to Galbatorix’s castle. He punished me, Eragon, punished me severly. And then, when my dragon, Thorn, hatched for me, he made us swear loyalty to him.

Eragon: So you’ve become your father.

Murtagh: No, I am far stronger than Morzan ever was. Galbatorix has taught me secrets of magic that not even the elves would dare to mutter.

Eragon: Things that should remain secrets.

Murtagh: If only you knew, you would not say that.

There is a slight pause.

Eragon: So what now? Are you going to kill me?

Murtagh: No, Galbatorix wants you alive.

Eragon: For what purpose?

Murtagh: Galbatorix’s last dragon egg, the green one, is male as well as my Thorn. Saphira is the last female dragon. With her, we could raise more dragons and ultimately rebuild the Dragon Riders.

Eragon: He’s the one who destroyed them in the first place!

Murtagh: And for good reason. They were old, fat, and corrupt. It was time for a new rule of power to take hold.

Saphira swoops down from the sky behind Murtagh and nearly releases a burst of fire. But Murtagh raises his hand, his scar glowing. She stops and dangles in midair. Eragon makes a move to try and stop Murtagh, but Murtagh lifts his other hand and Eragon is hurled back into the air. Eragon lifts himself off the ground and shoots a jet of magic at Murtagh, who dodges it. Murtagh shoots a jet of magic at Eragon, who reflects it back at Murtagh, who reflects it back to Eragon, who dodges it. The ball of magic explodes on a nearby rock. Both of the Riders lift their hands and shoot jets of magic at one another. But Murtagh’s jet of magic engulfs Eragon’s and continues on to hit Eragon and sends him flying back once more. This time, Zar’roc flies out of Eragon’s hands and lands nearby.

Eragon: You know, Murtagh, if you send us to Galbatorix, you will be lost forever and you will never be able to come back to the light side.

There is a slight pause. Murtagh finally releases his hold on Saphira. She falls to the ground.

Murtagh: My task was to come and try to capture you. I have tried. Do not let us cross paths again.

Murtagh bends down and picks Zar’roc off the ground.

Murtagh: And I think I’ll take this with me. Besides, Morzan’s sword should have gone to his eldest son, not his youngest.

Eragon’s face turns to one of horror.

Eragon: No! It… it can’t be!

Murtagh: Farewell, brother, son of my father, Morzan, and of my mother, Selena.

Murtagh raises his hand, his scar glowing very brightly, like a lighthouse. Thorn drops down out of the sky and circles in. Murtagh leaps onto his back while he is flying. Together, they soar up over the battlefield, Murtagh’s hand shining brightly in the sky.

Murtagh: Soldiers of the Empire, fall back!

Thorn gives out a roar and they sail away in the sky. The troops of soldiers move out and away, back to Uru’baen. Scene fades out into next scene.

Scene 31- The Reunion of Brothers- 4:45

Scene fades in on Arya and Nasuada walking through the wreckage of battle.

Nasuada: I feel that we have had both a victory and a loss.

Arya: That is the way all battles feel. We are safe for the moment, and we need to take this moment and begin planning for the next battle. Do not mourn for the dead. They died nobly. The songs of the dead are simply the lamentations of the living. It is all vain.

Scene switches to Orik running through the wreckage and kneeling beside Hrothgar’s body. He cradles it and cries.

Scene switches to Eragon and Saphira standing in the middle of the plain looking around at all the devastation.

Scene switches to Roran, standing by Horst. They too are looking over the plains.

Scene switches to Arya and Nasuada in a tent at the campsite. Eragon walks into the tent.

Arya: Eragon…

Eragon gives out a sigh.

Nasuada: Eragon, are you alright?

Eragon: No. That new Rider… it’s Murtagh.

Nasuada: No!

Eragon: Yes, he has joined with Galbatorix. He has betrayed us all. He is nothing but a coward. And… he’s my brother.

Arya: What?!

Eragon: I am the son of Morzan! We are brothers!

Eragon begins to cry. The others stare silently at him. Saphira pokes her head in. A single, large tear slips down her face.

Scene switches to Eragon walking in a tent. Roran steps out and gives him a punch on the shoulder.

Eragon: I guess I deserve that.

Roran: Yes, you do. Eragon, we need to talk!

Eragon: Must we now?

Roran: Yes! Katrina has been captured by the Ra’zac. Remember them? The ones that killed my father.

Eragon: He was like a father to me, also.

Roran: So while you’re off traveling the country, I was stuck at home to defend all of Carvahall! Why did you hide the fact that you were a Rider?

Eragon: I did what I thought was best!

Roran: Well, look what you ended up doing!

Eragon: Our father’s death was not my fault!

Roran: You mean my father.

Eragon: Being a Rider is harder than you think!

Roran: Well, leading an entire village from the north of Alagaesia to the south is not so easy either!

Eragon: Alright, I’ll go with you to rescue Katrina!

Roran: Well, I’m going to… what?

Eragon: I said I’ll go with you to rescue Katrina. I think I know where she is.

Roran: Where?

Eragon: My guess is Helgrind. That’s where the Ra’zac’s lair is located.

Roran: How… how do you know this?

Eragon: Well, it helps when you’ve traveled the country.

There is a slight pause and then both of them start laughing.

Eragon: I’m sorry, cousin, for the way I acted.

Roran: No, not cousin: brother.

They both smile.

Roran: So you will come with me to this Helgrind and save Katrina. Together, we will kill the Ra’zac and avenge our father’s death. As brothers?

Roran lays a hand on Eragon’s shoulder. Eragon nods and lays a hand on Roran’s shoulder.

Eragon: As brothers.

They hug.

Scene switches to Galbatorix at Uru’baen opening the door into the throne room. He walks in and there stands Murtagh. Thorn stands with him and Shruikan sits in his alcove.

Galbatorix: Where is he?!

Murtagh: My lord, I tried.

Galbatorix walks by and punches Murtagh in the face. He falls to the ground. Thorn gives a growl and makes a move at Galbatorix. Shruikan stands up and gives a roar to silence Thorn. Thorn gives a growl and backs off.

Galbatorix: Come, Shruikan. We are leaving.

Soldiers come out and begin putting armor onto Shruikan. Galbatorix has soldiers begin to put on his armor, too.

Galbatorix: It seems that no one else has the capability of getting the task accomplished. So now, I go myself out to finish the job.

Scene switches to the outside of Uru’baen. Shruikan gives a roar and leaps out of a window in the castle, Galbatorix on his back. Together they fly away into the night sky.

Scene switches to Murtagh looking at them leave from a window.

Scene switches to the king and his dragon flying away, shadows against the moon. Scene fades out into black.

Scene 32- Credits- 9:00

Credits roll.

Quite well done Icebear! I know you put alot of work into it too but the only problem is that sometimes a few of the characters can get out of character and that didn't happen so much in your Eragon script. It doesn't happen too much but just tiny bits that all. A little confusing here and there with small setting up parts but altogether you did a very nice job and I really like it! Are you going to do a Brisingr one once the book comes out (I do know you have a life XD)

Yes, I can totally see what you are saying and I agree that sometimes the characters do get out of hand. But really! I'm only 15! LOL. And I also understand that it can be confusing. The point is is that it is a script for a movie. The actually movie would be alot clearer, if you know what I mean. I didn't really even edit it, so I can see where you can say these things.

But if you would, could you tell me some of the parts that the characters get out of character and the parts that seem unclear? It would really help me out as a writer. :)

And to your other question, yes, I will make a script for Brisingr as will I with the final book. In fact, I had planned not to make an Extended Version for Eldest, but I think I will just to make sure I get most of the book in.

Thank you so much for reading it! It really means a lot to me that you would take the time out to read it. Thanks again!

Post Re: My Own Eldest Movie Script
Umm... Its extremely difficult to exactly pinpoint where small things got out of place. I'm no editor, lol, and its most likely me just being picky and don't really worry about fixing it cause its a great script and it doesn't really need any fixing. Its just Glaedr doesn't seem such a great, big and proud dragon, Oromis seemed a bit plain and so did Islanzadi, Arya talked too much out of Ellesmera (remember she is pretty gloomy) and Saphira just needs a litte more sarcasim and to be a little more haughty (just a little). Rhunon's charactor was brilliant and so was Roran's and Katrina's. There was nothing wrong with Orik's and Hrothgar leaned over a bit was otherwise was grand.

Well you can see now that I am very picky and your probebly now thinking I'm really b****y :( But here is the best of advice even though it may seem corny: You do whatever you feel is best for your writing. If something feels good, then leave it! Thats what I have to say...

No, no, no! I don't think you're picky at all! In fact, I honestly agree with everything you said! I will see what I can do to make it a little better. I will definitely go back and add some humor throughout it. I was just wanting to see what other people had to say about it. Thank you so much for reading it and giving such a detailed response. Honestly, it really helps out and it makes me feel good. Lol. :D

That's some pretty good writing! The only thing I saw was some spelling and grammatical mistakes, but that happens to everyone.

Yeah and I didn't really edited it before I posted it. And I don't think my English teacher would like this. She is kinda... kinda out there with things. She's a really picky person, but not just as an English teacher. She just a picky person.

Once again, well done. You certainly have a future in the screenwriting business. There is one critical aspect I have to stress, though: I think what you write for this one is not realistic to the time allotted for each scene. I think you need to lengthen it a bit more and give it a few trial exercises to make sure what is written fills up the time assigned to it. And I still think you should make your own independent version of Eragon and Eldest, and post it on Youtube.

wow, I just finished reading it, and it was awesome! I think if you showed this to a director, they might actually consider making it into a movie!

Thank you so much for reading it! I'm glad you liked it. I will be making one for Brisingr and Book 4 as well. I might be done with the Brisingr script by Spring of 2009, but that all depends on my schooling and such. :D

Well keep it up! I find it much more enjoyable than the actual movie.

Post Re: My Own Eldest Movie Script
Thank you. I'm sorry I haven't been on the site in like the past month. I just didn't want to find out any spoilers before I had finished the book. However, I am done now, and I am gald to say that the first scene of my Brisingr script is written. So I'm one step to being through. LOL. I should have it all ready by at least the spring time, maybe sooner. Once again, thank you for reading and I hope you look forward to my Brisingr script. :D

Edit: Ok, good news! I am only a few weeks away from completing my Brisingr script. All I have left is to write the final battle and resolution, and then take a little while to edit it. It think it's pretty good. So just stay on the lookout because I will post it when I'm done. :D
