Oh, I get it, he thought Eragon wasn't worthy or something so he always put him down, but I still say he would not be a good rider.

I do not have my book here, so aI cannot cite pages, however some chapter after The Gift of the Dragons, precisely after the changing, Eragon fights Vanir and bests him in one. Vanir apologizes and explains his so called "contempt" towards Eragon. If you have the book, check it it!

yea he does..bt its also mentioned dat he WAS a good fighter..a master at d blade, tho nt as gud as Eragon..n v kno he s strong at magic, still v don kno exactly HOW strong he is..i feel he will hav sum part in d third book..mayb he s one of d spellcasters dat Islanzadi had sent n now when he learns dat Eragon n Roran r goin to hunt d Razac, he may accompany dem sayin dat he wishes to make up for his mistake in insulting Eragon n Saphira...den he culd b useful..coz I don think dat Arya wuld b abl to accompany them in this thing n Eragon wuld need help in fighting d Razac as Roran wuld b pretty much useless..besides he s young, mayb he ll want to roam d empire lol

No he wouldn't want to come I don't think. I say he would stay and prepare for the war. And I don't think Vanir is the type to apologize as well.
