It's not a matter of practice. . He thought to himself, but decided to drop it before he irritated Laiel more. Lying down, he felt compelled to somehow make up for using the trick. It was a last resort kind of thing. Are you all right?

A low growl released from inside Eteo as Laiel rolled over and asked him the question. But it was a playful one as he whipped his head around and rested it on the ground, eying the male. His tail habitually wrapped around himself.
You trapped me, rendering me practically defenseless. You did exceptionally well. He seemed to grin, he corner of his lips twitching.

If you'd be willing to separate yourself from your riddles, then sure. I'd enjoy knowing your secret. He grinned again, adjusting himself so he was more comfortable where he laid as if he was about to hear gossip.

Eteo was silent for a short moment, letting his mind wrap around the riddles that Laiel had spoken earlier. After he had seen how they made sense, he seemed to snort in disgust with himself. He couldn't believe he hadn't thought of that! He glanced to Laiel, a small, humorous twinkle in his eye. That was smart. I feel foolish for not thinking of it myself. I'll remember that next time if I'm ever trapped in a dome of darkness.

Laiel grinned. "That is the point of riddles isn't it? And If it's made by anyone else but me, then I doubt that would work. Actually...there are ways that I could make it so you couldn't get out, even if you could spit the brightest fire in the land, but that would be too hard." He said, rolling back onto his back.

Eteo scoffed, letting his eyes fall closed as Laiel rolled onto his back once more. He considered a moment, what it would be like to be trapped in eternal darkness. And though he wasn't one for light, period, even he thought that was a bit much. He sighed deeply, his chest rumbling. He was tired, too. Both from practice and the fact that he was technically still supposed to be asleep anyway..
"You should show me how you do it. Your powers, I mean. I have a special ability that allows me to copy certain skills and abilities. Maybe even a dragon with ice breath like myself could breath fire if I copied your magic."

Laiel glanced over at Eteo when he mentioned copying hsi magic. "No...my magic isn't like most magics in Alageasia. One could almost say it's Shade magic. I invoke the power of spirits threw my chants to do my bidding. The only difference is that I have befriended these spirits once upon a time. Who knows what could happen if a dragon became possessed by a spirit?" He would rather not think about a Dragon Shade, as a normal Shade was bad. One that was a dragon would likely destroy the whole land.

After a moment of thinking harder about it, Eteo silently agreed. A dragon Shade? That would definitely be a big 'uh oh' for everyone. Even him. "I see your point." The moment he finished speaking, there was an explosion off the side of one of the mountains. Eteo whipped his head around, just as a small black figure was thrown from the gaping hole that had formed.
Eteo stood to his feet curiously, watching as a large vulture like bird screeched and catapulted from the hole as well. It was amazing. The bird was almost half as big as Eteo, looking even bigger with it's wings spread as it tried to snatch the black figure out of the air with it's beak and talons. The black figure suddenly shot some kind of blue magic from his hand that hit the bird in the beak, just as it tried to swallow him whole, and the entire thing froze in a case of ice, causing the bird the frantically stop and flap his wings, shaking his head in hopes of freeing his beak, which wasn't likely.
Meanwhile, the figure must've realized he was still falling, because he righted himself and immediately began sliding on a trail of ice that seemed to form right below his feet, where ever he was heading in the air, and melted away a few feet behind him. He slid expertly down near the side of the mountain before he finally tore away and seemed to go faster, heading straight for the clearing Eteo and Laiel were in. But just as he reached the edge of the clearing, the vulture like creature snapped his beak shut and broke the encasing of ice, screaming angrily before heading straight for its escaped prey.


Raitfier whipped his head around, seeing that the vulture was free. His face grew contorted with irritation before he faced forward again and noticed there were two beings in the clearing, instead of one, the dragon, like he'd thought. When he got within twenty feet of the two, the ice beneath his feet seemed to vanish all together and he collapsed to the ground by Eteo, who took a step back. Dressed in nothing but black slacks, his caramel colored skin was covered in scratches and gashes. There was an extremely large one specifically on his right arm, where the bird must've gotten him with his talon. Struggling to all fours, he kept his head done, refusing to look to either male as he spoke breathlessly.
"I need help. . please."

Eteo gazed at the male before suddenly looking up to the vulture that raced towards the clearing. He hesitantly locked his gaze on Laiel, in question of whether or not he wanted to take the bird on and help.

Eteo simply nodded, taking one more quick glance to the new male, before leaping into the air and racing towards the large bird. As soon as he was in range, Eteo coiled in the air, like a snake, as the bird tried to snap his beak around his head. Then he sprung and tackled the bird, front talons gripping a hold on the bird's wings they began falling from the air, Eteo pulling in his wings. So long as he kept the bird underneath him, there would be no problem with what he would do. Luckily, the bird wasn't as smart as it probably thought. It didn't struggle, much. It only snapped its beak and tried flapping it's useless, trapped wings.
Finally, they hit the ground with an earth shuddering impact and Eteo proceeded to tear the helpless bird to shreds with talons, teeth, and horns. When the bird finally stopped struggling and screeching, Eteo roared, a low growl emitting from him long after as he contemplated on what to do with the kill.

Raitfier was extremely grateful for the help. And even though Laiel had told him it wouldn't hurt, he seemed to flinch a little, as a sort of habit. He could've healed himself, especially being around so much cold air and snow up in the mountains. But he was just so worn out, he was surprised he'd been able to use his abilities at all. .
When Laiel finished, he murmured a thank you, before speaking a little more loudly, examining the male's work. There wasn't a scar, or any mark that it had existed. "You do nice work," He stopped, suddenly, and lifted his head in question to the male's name.


He decided to leave it, for now. He had an idea, but he first had to get away from the newcomer. He headed back, just as the two were finishing up.
Not much of a challenge. . He griped, as if this was a bad thing.

Eteo made his way over, silent after Laiel had mentioned sparring again later and after he settled himself down onto his stomach, he replied hesitantly. I'll pass. . rather not face another dome of doom, today, thank you. Then, quietly to the new male. And I am Eteo.

"Raitfier. 'sa pleasure." Raitfier raised his hand to take the others, shaking it firmly before finally standing, with a bit of trouble. He could barely hold himself up, he was so tired. He looked to the dragon as he introduced himself and he nodded, a small sheepish grin on his childish face.
So. .what're you two doing out here? Up in the mountains.

Raitfier was hesitant, as if contemplating in his mind for a moment. He raised a hand, glanced to the sky out of the corner of his eye, and spoke slowly, as if thinking of each word right before he said them.
"Well. . I'm not really sure. I go where I go because it's where my feet take me. . so. . I don't know. I guess I could consider this a vacation." He smiled a little at the thought and laughed at himself before it suddenly hit him. He looked around slightly, before cupping his hands around his mouth and yelling out. "Glade!! Kipp!!" He paused, before he suddenly felt a small spark in the back of his head. He smiled a little and turned his attention back to Laiel. "My Guardians. . I remember now! Kipp, he wanted to come here to see what snow was like. And Glade thought it'd be a good chance to go hunting. They're on their way here now. But. ." He seemed to glance over at Eteo, cautiously speaking. "Kipp is really small and, well. ."

No, no. . I get it. I'll leave. Eteo stood again, stretching, before he continued and got ready to lift off into the air. Besides, I've got something to do. I'm sure Laiel has a friend he'd like you to meet though, later on. He glanced to Laiel as Raitfier looked over to him, as well, and smiled slightly, revealing a few of his white fangs. He hoped Laiel knew he meant Ese, instead of Eteo. Because right now, Eteo was dead tired and needed a nap for not sleeping the night before.
He lifted off the ground with ease and headed for a cave he hid out in higher up, near the to of the mountain. He'd find them later on as Ese. .

"Guardians." He put emphasis on the s, smiling a little himself before sighing quietly and thinking carefully before speaking. He raised a hand to scratch behind his ear as he did, though. "Ah, well, to put it simply - since it's a really long story - I am an Allatik. My race has animal Guardians, from birth, but we don't find them until later on in our lives. Their our bonds. Kind of like a Dragon and his Rider, but we're not sure of the differences. An Allatik has never been reported bonded to a dragon once in our history. But even so, it's the rarest of the rare that an Allatik has two Guardians, but I guess I'm just lucky. ." He grinned, just as an extremely unlikely pair wandered from the treeline.
The absolute ginormous leopard was the first to be noticed, obviously. His coat of fur looked lush and silky soft. But underneath that beautiful fur, there was sheer power in the form of muscles, which rippled his fur like water as he walked with grace and ease.
The next to be noticed was the little ball of fur riding his back. It's ears were huge, as was it's tail, being a little bigger than his actual body was. But his coat of fur was a shiny, bright red-orange and when he lifted his head, he seemed to see past everything else other than Raitfier. He jumped up, front paws landing on the leopard's head, before he pounced off him and straight to his companion. Raitfier greeted him with open arms, wrapping them around the small fox and hugging him as he licked his face and neck. He laugh heartily, full of joy to be by his Guardians' sides. He looked to Laiel, motioning to the fox in his arms, and then to the leopard.
"This is Kipp. . and Glade. Guys, this is Laiel. You just missed Eteo, a dragon."
Woooow. . .a real live dragon, Rai? You mean like the ones we met in Kuasta? Those dragons were cool. I wanna see them again, do you think we can soon?
Raitfier covered Kipp's head with his hand, chuckling slightly as he nodded at all his questions, then looked to Laiel. "He's still. . . really young and talkative. ."

Kipp struggled against Raitfier's hand until his head was free, poking out from between two of the male's fingers as he gaze at Laiel. If foxes could smile, he was grinning like a mad fool.
Nice to meet ya, too!! Glade thinks the same, he's just an old grouch.
I am not old. He said simply, eying the fox with a small glare. Then he turned his fiery copper gaze upon the one he'd been introduced to as Laiel. He nodded his head. It's a pleasure. Your aura says your powerful and clairvoyant. I assume that means. . you're a spell caster? One who uses chants and magic and what not. Might I point out, your aura is abnormally extremely strong. I could sense you miles and miles away. Exactly what are you?
"Glade, don't be so rude! I, myself, just met the guy not too long ago. ."

The three of them looked at Laiel oddly, never hearing of such a thing before. They each looked at each other a moment after the other asked the question though, and Raitfier smiled, looking to the male as Kipp climbed up upon his shoulder and laid down after getting comfortable.
"Well. . any creature that is living has an aura. Even things like trees and plants, though theirs aren't nearly as strong as, oh, say a human's, or a dragon's. And each creature's is different. So, there are billions upon billions of auras, but for us Allatik's, if we sense one once, we'll never forget it. Some actually have smells or colors. . We're not really sure why only certain people can sense it, but. ."
If you focus hard enough, you're bound to see it one day. It just takes a long time to master seeing something that's physically not there. It's like seeing a smell, except what you're seeing and feeling is information about the other person, or creature. Depending on the person, various things can come from the aura.
Things like what kind of powers they have, or how long they've been living. Even what they are and what they're thinking, but you have to be really powerful to sense that, like Glade! His nose is the best, so to speak. It's just little tid bits of stuff. At least, that's how it works for the Allatik's, like Rai. .
"Yes. . like me. And the Guardians of Allatik's also have the abilities to sense aura's. I'm not sure if it's the same with other people. . who have the ability to sense aura." Glade took a seat by Raitfier's side, huffing a breath of air as he thought and added something.
And one must not forget the punishment for being able to sense an aura. You can drown from your aura. At least, Allatik's can. Which is why many Allatik's are very afraid of small, closed-in places where there isn't much room to move around or get away. If they're in there for more than a few days, than their aura can easily drain their bodies of energy. Aura's feed off the things around them, the energy, but mostly other aura's. We're not sure why this happens.

Again, all three of them looked to each other as the male said he was suppressing his powers. They all felt it. This guy was powerful. Raitfier sat himself down in front of the male and Glade simply laid down where he was, sighing as Raitfier began explaining in response to his question.
"Well, all I can see is gray. But that's because I've been around so many different aura's lately, my mind hasn't yet adjusted to yours. Glade on the other hand. ."
It's green. He said candidly, closing his eyes and resisting a yawn. And when you speak, it flickers blue-green. And when your power spikes, like when you use it, it seems to turn black and have a faint glow of white around it. Kipp would be able to tell you a little about yourself, if you want any further examples shown to you. I can sense color and smell. He senses useless facts.
They're not all useless! Kipp abruptly stood on Raitfier shoulder, crawling to the other one so he was closer to Glade. He reached down and batted him in the head with his paw once before frantically jumping over Raitfier's head and back to the other shoulder, curling into a ball. Glade, opening only one eye, growled in annoyance, but stayed silent.

Glade was obviously the most interested out of all of them. When Laiel revealed his sword, Glade had the urge to stand and examine it closer, but after the male's next words, decided not to. A low, but friendly growl ripped from his chest as he stood, though.
We're friends, you have need not worry of that. Besides, Raitfier is in your dept for healing him.
At first, Raitfier looked to the leopard with confusion, as if to say 'I am?'. But the look his Guardian gave him made him think twice, and he slowly stood, Kipp still clinging to his neck. He looked to Laiel and nodded slightly, crossing his arms over his chest and speaking after some thought.
"I suppose Glade is right. . ever since that incident with her, I haven't been one much for debt. Haven't had much thought about it." Then he looked up slightly, out of the corner of his eyes, as if contemplating. "Of course, now that I think about it. . it would only be fair to pay you back. In thanks. I'll just have o figure out how. Guess that means I'll be sticking around until my debt has been paid." Raitfier grinned to Laiel. Kipp, from behind him, inwardly groaned. The one known as Laiel officially scared the living daylights out of his furry fox hide.

"Ai, ai. I'll show you." Raitfier let out a hearty laugh, leaning his head to the side as Laiel went on with showing his power. He was amazed at what Laiel held inside him. Even he didn't hold that much power. And he was honest enough to admit it. Glade was purely focused on Laiel and nothing else. When he asked, Glade took a step closer to the male, sniffing the air around him. The air felt cold to Glade, because of so much aura in such a short time being released, but he couldn't define a smell even still.
That's absolutely amazing. I truly have never seen anything so full of power. You say you obtained this fro the spirit realm?
Obviously, Glade knew a lot more than Raitfier and Kipp did about any of that kind of thing. They kinda just stood to the side, trying to follow along.
"Glade. . that's probably personal stuff he doesn't want to remember. ." He raised a hand, rubbing the back of his head as he looked to the side. "Don't you think you should be a little less. . .assertive?"

Kipp peaked out from behind Raitfier's head and cocked his own head to the side a little. He had a little grin on his face in thanks. Then he jumped off Raitfier's shoulder's and hopped onto Glade's back, sitting himself down as Raitfier took a step back and grinned excitedly. He liked showing off, regrettably. He was still very much a kid at heart.
"It's nothing much, truly it's not. Not compared to what power you wield. I have control over liquids and solid liquids. Meaning I can create water and move it to my will, along with ice and anything else that can be hardened to a solid that used to be a liquid."
He used the hand he had behind his head, holding it palm face up. He spoke quietly as he moved his fingers a little, causing a ball of water to form in his hand. "I mean. . so long as there is water in the air and around me, I can create water. Or, more so, pull it together to form this. I can't actually create it without taking it from my body and that could be lethal to my health." The sphere of water was the size of a soft ball, revolving in Raitfier's hand. And the he tensed his hand, focusing hard on the sphere, and it suddenly became a solid ice ball, falling into his hand. His grin widened again. "But no matter what it is. . so long as it's liquid, I can harden it. And Vice versa. But I can do more than just make water and ice balls. I can basically do anything I want because water is so versatile. I can morph it any which way I want. I'm kick-butt at ice sculpting, too." He laughed a little.
