Post Blending in, running out
A slight breeze was blowing, cooling the people at the docks. The sun was not yet up but the glow could be seen on the horizon. Keralin hadn't been here for near two hundred years, even for elves that was not a short time. Maenir, the town just north of Carvahall. The boats looked exactly the same though, the blue of the sails and the boat with intricate designs meant to take travelers to distant shores. He had told Aelir to stay in the water a great deal away from the shore. Once Keralin had the fugitive he would need Aelir to get them quickly off and back to Du Weldenvarden. Another elf touched him lightly on the shoulder and said "It will be about 10 minutes before we can board you." Keralin thanked the man and looked over at the other elves traveling with him. one of these people is the fugitive but which is it? He thought quickly. Keralin had not done much bounty hunter work and he knew little about the trade. But everyone had to start somewhere, and Keralin thought he might start with this person. He had gotten word that the person was leaving the shores today, most likely never to be seen again so there was only one chance to grab him and this was it. The man had a very distinguishing feature, and that was a scar across the right of his neck, problem was that it was cold and everyone was wearing jackets that covered their necks. Keralin remembered back to when he first left, then what happened between then and now. It passed the time quickly and before he knew it he was being herded onto the boat. The sun now shone on the horizon, and it got warmer.

OOC: Hope ya don't mind. I'll just have Eriel in this.

IC: Eriel sighed softly as she gazed across the sea again. She had not done so in awhile and missed her friends and the sea breeze dearly. She boarded the boat quickly then stopped as she reached starboard. Someone who was familiar on the boat, she frowned then walked towards him slowly, trying her best not to surprise him. About ten steps away, he turned and placed a blade on her throat before suddenly withdrawing. Eriel moved a step backwards. "Hello Keralin." She grinned.

OOC: Hope you don't mind the gm.

OOC: I'll work around it.

"Eriel!" Keralin managed to say, his eyes staring disbelievingly. He put his blade away quickly before anyone noticed. He took a quick glance to see if anyone was looking. Luck was on his side today as nobody was looking in their direction.
"This is the last place I thought I'd see you again. What are you doing here?"

Aelir swam under the water, catching a few fish for his breakfast. He was bored and had nothing to do until his rider signaled him. So he thought why not have a meal before working?

Eriel smiled wider. "Just going for a short vacation across the sea..." She managed to say the tilted her head. "What's wrong? You seem... troubled." She asked softly, making sure no one around them heard. "There's news of a... fugitive who had escaped prison again..." She looked around. "Don't tell me you're looking for him too..." She frowned then smiled at him, trying to make the scene as... friendly as possible as she noticed afew staring at them.

Keralin smiled and brought his arm around Eriel, turning to face he sea together. He lowered his voice "As a matter of fact, I had heard a rumor that he might be on this very ship." He looked back at her face, remembering their time together. "But this voyage is long and the people on it are probably boring." He smiled at her. "How have you been?"

Eriel sighed as she felt his arms wrap around her. She heard Keralin's words and groaned. "We had best be careful then..." She said softly, wrapping her arms around his waist. "If he knew who was targeting him, he'd come for one of us and force the other into submission..." She sighed again. "Well, I prefer to prepare myself when he comes, its been so long since I've seen you..." She drifted off and kissed him softly.

"And I you." He said back, kissing her lightly. The sunlight on his body was warming, so much so that he grew hot in his sweater. "Excuse me for a minute." Keralin said to Eriel before taking off a layer of clothing. While Keralin was packing his sweater into his bag he took a quick look around at everyone else taking off theirs. He couldn't see anything from his vantage point on the ground though and he thought with a pang of regret that he was placing this mission over his time with Eriel, even though the two were mixed now. He stood back up and left his backpack sitting on the deck between his feet. Keralin remembered what he was concerned about before and said reassuringly yet quiet "We'll be fine, I've got an escape ready. Not to mention that we're both excellent fighters."

Eriel smiled and removed her cloak. "Much better..." She said softly, looking at Keralin, she replied with a grin, "No way! I still need training, my swordplay still needs alot of brushing up!" Eriel paused, "I could probably beat you silly in archery." She said with a slight wink.

"No doubt there, I'm on the low end of average..." Keralin admitted with a smile. "Besides, I never said sword-play I said fighting." The sun was getting too bright for Keralin so he turned to face the passengers, who were themselves, taking off their warm clothing.

Eriel smiled weakly. "I'm gonna bathe now, I haven't done so in two days." She said then touched Kerelin's left cheek before moving off to her room where she found an indent in the floor and a pail of water. Eriel sighed softly and filled the indent with magic then stripped and immersed herself in the water.

Keralin watched hesitantly as Eriel went below decks. She'll be fine. Keralin said to himself, he had mixed feelings about Eriel being here. He was worried that she would get hurt but happy that she was here. Keralin shook his head clear of the jumbled thoughts and concentrated on what he was here for. He took a quick look at the passenger's necks, trying to sight the scar. There were many necks but no scars and they kept moving between view. Ah well, I can always have a better look when everyone's asleep. Keralin said to himself again.
"Excuse me sir." Said one of the deckhands to Keralin, snapping him out of his mind and into reality.
"Oh sorry." Keralin apologised quickly and stepped out of the way. Keralin watched the man tie a rope around the hand-rail and toss it to a man down the side of the boat. The man down the bottom had a curious skin discolouration on his neck. Keralin accessed his magic and changed the water on his eyes into a liquid lens, magnifying his view to get a closer look. Keralin's vision wavered and zoomed in. There was discolouration on his skin that looked like a tattoo. A tattoo of a scar.

Eriel stiffened as she felt Kerelin use magic, anxiety poured through her as she heard blades clash. As she had just finished putting on her undergarments, a man weilding a double-edged blade shattered the door. Eriel gasped in surprise and used magic to place her sword in her hand. She sank into a defensive stance, grimacing as the man chukled and stared at her. He then leapt at her, blade poised to strike. Eriel parried it with difficulty, wincing at the force of his blows.

Keralin let go of the magic, his mind racing with a thousand different thoughts. Not only is he on the boat, but he's working for the captain! This'll make my job much harder. Keralin decided to wait till he learned more about this man before jumping into battle. He was about to ask the man up top why the rope was important there when his ears picked up the faint sound of clashing swords. He looked overboard again and saw the tattoo'ed man still hanging out of a porthole. Keralin walking quickly downstairs, towards the sounds of battle. The sound was loudest at the washroom. ERIEL! Thought Keralin and he panicked. He raised his foot and kicked the door as hard as he could. The door flew open so quickly it only just hung onto its hinges and embedded itself into the wall. Keralin drew his hidden blade and shouted at the intruder attacking Eriel;
"Get away from her or your life is forfeit!"

Eriel grimaced as he used her own blade to strike her left arm as the force of his blows caused her blade to tip and cut the arm with its blunted side. She groaned as he kicked her while stunned then thrusted his blade through her leg. Eriel screamed as Keralin entered. She groaned as he pulled his blade out of her thigh with immense strength, cutting through it like butter and twisting it slightly, perhaps to infuriate Keralin more.

Seeing Eriel hurt did infuriate Keralin. He couldn't believe that the man was torturing Eriel. It pushed him over the edge of his sanity. Keralin charged at that moment intent to stop the man from harming Eriel. Two steps and his fist made contact with the other man's face with enough force that the man was knocked off his feet. Keralin stood over the man and drove his blade into the man's arm that held Eriel's blade. The knife pierced tendons severing the man's control over his arm. Keralin, with his right hand, kept punching the man as hard as he could.

Eriel looked as Keralin punched the man's face, she heard him bellow in pain as Keralin did so, but he was reaching behind his back, fingers groping for a dagger. Eriel glowered at him as he stabbed Kerelin's bad leg then started stepping on it, shouting unpleasant remarks at him. Eriel's blood started to boil. Her eyes turned black and flames grew. Her sword beside Keralin started to take on a more dangerous appearance. Water surrounded it, whirling like a maelstorm. With a word, Eriel rushed the water at the man, hurling him towards the wash area.

OOC: Sry for the gm

OOC: don't worry about it, i'll gm you back! But later..

Keralin winced in pain as the dagger went through his leg, hurting as it did when he first received it. It was nearly numbing. Keralin didn't dare heal it, for fear that it would be the same. Distant voices seemed to be shouting at him, yet he couldn't make them out from the pain. Keralin forced his mind to force out the pain and concentrate at the immediate situation. He stared at the man with pure hatred in his eyes. He drew on his magic, preparing to cast a spell that would disintegrate him. That moment was however, taken from him as a tunnel of water hit the man and threw him across the room. Keralin looked at the rage in Eriel's eyes, which made Keralin's own anger look like a child's temper tantrum. He pushed himself out of the way and watched Eriel attack the man without restraint.

Eriel glared at the man then brought the water up, holding him in position and smacking his abdomen multiple times, once for each word she said. "Let me warn you, don't you ever show yourself to me! It WILL be unpleasant." She shouted her thoughts out at him and hurled him through the air back towards Keralin. Before he landed Eriel caused spikes to jut out, impalling his limbs. "Wench...Stupid little girl!" he cursed and tried to break free, only to have Eriel make more spikes jut out. He screamed and remained silent, not wanting more spikes impalling him. Eriel smirked then healed her wounds somewhat before regaining control of her anger. Eriel breathed heavily then walked over to Keralin, "You 'kay?" She asked, blushing softly, not used to exposing herself like this.

"Yes, I am. Thank you." Keralin got up slowly, being careful not put any more pressure on his leg. Damn that's gonna take a long time to heal. He thought to himself. Then he noticed Eriel in her night gown. "Ahem." Keralin excused himself. "What do you intend to do with him now?" Indicating to the man impaled on the floor.

OOC: Sorry not much help.

"Uh..." Eriel began, not sure of what to do with him. "At least let me put on my robes first." She said casually, placing a wall of fire that didn't not burn wood, just flesh, near the man. Eriel looked back then dressed quickly before coming out, girting her sheath and wiping off blood, her own mainly before placing it back in its sheath. "I don't think I'll need my corselet yet..." She thought to herself then released the magic around the man. "Well, what should I do with you? Barging into the wash area without so much as a knock..." Eriel asked him softly, releasing most of the spikes. the man laughed. "I have my reasons." Eriel rolled her eyes. "He's all your Keralin, I don't know what to do with him... Make it... Painful please." Eriel grinned.

"Certainly." Keralin said coldly. He moved over to the man lying on the floor and shifted his hand on his knife. He knelt down beside the man and whispered into his ear, "Understand this; I will hurt you for every wound on her, then I will ask questions. If you don't answer me truthfully, well, I'll leave that to my imagination." Keralin shifted away slightly. Then with quick strokes he cut the man's legs and arms, straight across, leaving a bleeding wound. Keralin chanted a spell, using unrecognisable words known only to him, the books in the library of Unfrecia and the Draconians that lay dead by his hand. He shaped his hand into a claw and drove it into the man's chest. While his fingers didn't pierce the skin, they pierced something else. The man's essence, his soul. Keralin grabbed the unseen force and drew it out of the man and hung it on the wall using invisible nails. The effort of doing this left Keralin quite drained, his body almost shuddering.
"Do what you will to his body Eriel, he will feel everything ten-fold and will be forced to watch. I, however, need to rest." Keralin shifted away from the body and sat with his back on the wall.

"Eh? Nice spell." She grinned then turned her attention to the man's body. "Well, let see, a little of this would hurt would it?" She grinned and pricked the man's neck, smiling as a bodiless, blood-curdling scream pierced the air. "Well now the real torture begins." She smiled at Keralin. "Thanks." She said softly, moved over to him and kissed him on the cheek then drew her dagger. "I don't usually use this, unless I have to. Even though I usually don't have to or want to. However, I hate you with every fiber of my being for wounding him and I will make sure you pay..." She said loudly and brought her runed knife down on the man's left bicep, slicing muscle, she smiled wider as another scream came. She started to chant a spell in the Ancient Language, her dagger glowed with a light. She looked at Keralin. "Looks familiar? I found some of the leaf that was used to wound you on the way, and I think this, will be perfect for his punishment." She frowned and stabbed the man's knee, through the knee cap, severing bone, skin and muscle. She twisted it and removed it then walked over to Keralin, sheathing her dagger. "Your turn." She smiled.

"There was only a few times I have had to use this spell and every time I do it, I can't help but cringe every time I hear the scream of the soul." Keralin visibly gathered himself and walked up to where the soul was hanging, a piece of the soul in the knee was missing.
"Now you know what I am capable of and what will happen to you if you don't answer my questions truthfully." Keralin spoke to him in the ancient language. "But you can't answer me any other way so I have nothing to fear. My first question to you is what are you doing hurting ERIEL!" Keralin voice was near screaming at the end of the sentence. After a few seconds of silence Keralin turned and went back to the body, knife in hand. He brought it straight down into the man's shoulder. The sound was nearly unbearable, echoing off the walls of the small room.
"Again! What are you doing here, hurting her!" Keralin lifted the blade preparing for another strike.
"Enough please!" The soul cried out in anguish. "I have to ask though, will your spell protect me from oaths given in the ancient language?"
"You are free from all bonds until I deem otherwise so." Keralin wasn't willing to tell the man more, knowing that if he knew what the spell truly did he would get no answers.
"Very well, I came here to kill her. And later, you. The man you seek paid me, and about half of the others on this boat to protect him. Although this goes far beyond a simple prison escape."

"Kill me huh..." Eriel looked at the door. "I'm afraid it wouldn't be so easy next time he tries." She said softly and wore her corselet then took her bow from the wash area. "More than a simple prison escape huh?" She turned her gaze towards the man. "And so, what will you do now? Considering the fact that I really wanna harm you more. My bow calls out for my arrows and the arrows for my bow's string and the whole weapon craves for your heart." Eriel said grimly, then in a flash, shot an arrow, hitting another coming towards Keralin's head.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"I will be free!" Said the man, laughing softly to himself. Keralin wondered what he was hiding but he had no time to think about it. HE looked about the room quickly, searching for any holes that an arrow would fit through. There were plenty.
"That won't happen," Keralin said defiantly, preparing to cast a ward around him that would stop all projectiles. "You will never be free." Keralin cast the ward around himself and Eriel. "Kill him if you want Eriel, but we have to get out of here now!"
Aelir, we need you now!

Aelir followed the ship a distance away in the water, having finished his breakfast. For the most part it was peaceful, a gentle swim in the ocean. A voice pierced the silence,
Aelir, we need you now!
He recognized the voice as Keralin's and swam quickly towards the boat, preparing for anything.

Eriel frowned at him, "I will Keralin, I would not risk him escaping." She drew her bow and aimed at his heart then released the arrow, cringing as a dull 'thud' was heard. She turned towards Keralin and said softly, increasing the power of the wards she had used before and adding a new spell to it. "Aiedail Brisingr, Bjart Adurna, Gedway Deloi, Vollar Vindr, Welden Gata, Skolir Wyrda!" Eriel leaned on Keralin's shoulder as her wards was deployed, it worked the same way most of hers worked with the term mentioned first being the weakest the the last being the strongest in absorbing damage.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"Spells might last for a little while, but we better get out of here fast. This whole ship, for all we know, could be a giant death trap. And from what I've seen, it's most likely going to serve its use." Keralin scrabbled frantically to end the spell, the man's soul still trapped on the wall.
"Embrace death, your body is broken beyond repair." The man's eyes seemed to fade as Keralin let go of the magic binding him to this existence. Then he was gone, the only reminder of his existence being the corpse on the floor. Keralin opened the door carefully, watching each shadow, taking note of every space that an arrow could come flying from.

Aelir stood ready, at any moment he would need to burst from the water and grab his rider and Eriel. Apart from that, there was nothing he could do short of tearing apart the boat with his claws.

Eriel cringed as a volley of arrows flew in their direction, easily shattering the ward's first layer, but the archers did poorly to do so, as Eriel released the layer at the last minute, sending out a wave of fire from both their bodies, incinerating the archers. Eriel looked back and fire an arrow into the leg of a sailor. By the time they had reached Starboard, the second layer was gone too with as well as a lot more soldiers on board. She could dimly make out the shape of Aelir underwater. Eriel looked back, soldiers armed with runed blades surrounded them. She turned to Keralin, leaning closely and whispered, "We really should jump..." The men whistled as they saw what they thought was a last kiss. Eriel looked into Keralin's eyes. "Ready when you are..."

Post Re: Blending in, running out
Keralin looked back into those ever changing green eyes. He admired how much faith she had in him. "On three." A row of archers were pulling their drawstrings, taking aim on the pair. A couple of young warriors disregarded the shouted commands of the captain and ran at Keralin and Eriel. The sun was high in the air, warming the day nicely from behind a few scattered clouds.
"Three!"
Keralin and Eriel jumped off the boat, as Aelir jumped out of the water to catch them. They grabbed Aelir's spikes and held on tightly as they were plunged into the water with arrows zinging over their heads. Sliding through the water, they got as far away as their lungs would allow. All three burst from the surface of the water sending droplets in every direction creating a miniature rainbow. Keralin looked back in time to see another wave of arrows flying towards them. "Adurna!" Shouted Keralin, rising a wall of water to protect them from the arrows.

OOC: I told ya I would GM you back! :D

OOC: lol :D I'm glad you did.

IC: Eriel looked back at the arrows then wrapped her arms around Keralin's waist. "What a trip..." She told him softly and kissed his neck, resting on his back, eyes closed in peace as they flew above the ship. "What're we gonna do now, I really suggest landing at the destination of the ship though they may have gone off course when we started fighting." She smiled up at him, opening her eyes again, she suddenly noticed airships, armed to the teeth, approaching. "Uh... We should fly faster..." She told Keralin mentally.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"No arguments here, Aelir?" Keralin said looking at the incoming zeppelins.
None from me either. Aelir said back in a slightly sarcastic tone before diving towards the water to gain speed. He angled up, and let his speed carry him quickly over the surface of the water. Aelir flapped his wings hard and tried to get as much speed as possible. It wasn't enough to escape the gaze of the commanders though, all ships opened fire at the three. Cannonballs and arrows were send hurtling through the air towards the dragon flying across the water. A few of the projectiles hit each other and fell out of the air, so many things were fired at them. Aelir weaved his way through the arrows and cannonballs as best he could. Keralin sent a few of them sailing over or under Aelir but he couldn't handle all of them. A stray arrow hit Aelir in the wing, tearing it.
How can one man have so many allies?! Keralin thought extremely frustrated. He decided to think on it later and heal Aelir's wound as they were getting a little too close to the water. "Weise heill." The wound sealed up just in time to stop them plunging into the water but it was also in time for yet another volley.

Eriel stood up, using her connection to Keralin to stay balanced. She raised her hands, palm facing them, heedless of the projectiles flying over her. "Vollar Vindr!" She exclaimed, smiling as an air of fire akin to the one on them surrounded the zeppelins. "Losna." She said softly, releasing all the wards around them and placing them on the zeppelins and watching as the soldiers on board started to panic. Eriel cloak flew as she cast her next spell. "Gath du Deloi, Vindr, Gata un Wyrda." Immediately the wards formed a layer of shining white with specks of silver and red in it. "Losna..." She said then sat down, ignoring the screams of the men on board as the wards burnt and crushed then.

OOC: Grrr, make me look up the book to know what you cast... Ah well it makes it look like the actual book.

Keralin watched in awe as Eriel showed off her impressive power. He felt bad at the losses but knew it was either them or himself. It still didn't make him feel better.
"Come and rest now. Aelir will take us to where the Elven boats anchor, I've showed him the way. I would never be able to do what you just did, where did you learn that kind of power?" Keralin knew he would never be able to summon that kind of power no matter what he did. And he also knew how sick it made him feel whenever he though about the city of Panellia.

Eriel raised en eyebrow. "I didn't learn it... It's just... natural for me a I guess... Sort of a way to make up for my blade skills..." Eriel smiled. "I'm beat... That took quite a bit out of me..." Eriel yawned and rested on his back. "Wake me up once we're there..." She trailed off as she entered the trance-like state of mind.

"Sure." Keralin said calmly, stroking Eriel's hair. He looked towards the horizon, unknowing of how things had changed within the past two or three hundred years.
Aelir, thank you for changing my mind and letting you come.
Just listen to me and nothing will go wrong. Aelir said with a toothy grin. Keralin just sighed and watched the water go past. He remembered the time when he was alone going over this ocean, how sort-of peaceful it was.
At least I can't get seasick. He thought with a smile. He thought of the city, Panellia, again, unable to rid the look of death around the city walls from his mind.

Eriel looked at Keralin stroking her her from her mind with a smile, then slowly, inch by inch, wrapped her mind around his in a loving embrace while browsing through her memories, concentrating particularly on the ones with Keralin in it, especially the time they became mates. Eriel laughed deep within herself as she relived the time when he fell on her after Emrhyst pushed him.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
OOC: I'm gonna skip ahead a few days, its a very long journey.

While the journey by boats took nearly a month, flying took only four days. When Aelir had to sleep, Keralin jumped into his body and flew using his own energy. Using magic, all three were able to keep themselves watered by drawing pure water from the ocean, and eating fish. The shore was visible now, to the relief of Aelir and Keralin, and no cities in sight. There was nothing on the shore. Just woodland.
What's going on here? Wondered Keralin. The Elven city looked was missing, like it was never there. Keralin let out a sigh of resignation. There was no possible way for them to find the man anymore. There wasn't even a town they could ask for directions. Keralin's mind was not working like usual either. Keralin watched the world in the water, seeing the reflections. Watching the world through different eyes. Keralin though off-handedly, he had seen this part of the world through a different set of eyes so many years ago.
Wait, different eyes? I can't believe I forgot about scrying! Keralin nearly slapped himself on the forehead.
"As soon as we get to shore, we'll have some rest. Then we'll see if the can scry our fugitive."
It didn't take long for the shore to meet them since Aelir was feeling very exited about putting his claws on dry land. His dream was realised 10 minutes later. Keralin slid off Aelir and lay in the sand for a good while, glad to be away from the repeditive flapping.

Eriel sat next to Keralin, took off her boots and placed her feet in the sea before lying next to him. "I never wanna eat fish again... I'm still better off with fruits..." Eriel told him softly, then faced him, smiling weakly. "Should I scry him? You've been flying Aelir all through the night you know..." She asked, making sure he got the message. When he didn't, Eriel laughed and punched his shoulder playfully. "Wake up..." She groaned.

"I don't wanna." Keralin said back playfully and rolled over. After some more incentive from Eriel, being another punch to his shoulder, he sighed and sat up. Keralin looked out over the water enjoying the view. Although so much had happened here before, it was still just as relaxing as it ever was. He thought back to when his leg was injured and felt an echo of the pain. Shaking the thought from his head he looked back at Eriel. "If you wouldn't mind. But a bit of rest on dry land wouldn't be such a bad idea now would it?"

"I guess not.." Eriel told him softly and kissed his cheek then walked over to Aelir and took out four ivory pegs and a sheet of cloth. Eriel quickly sang a stick out of a tree then walked back to Keralin. "Come on, give me a hand with these things, if anything, we should probably pitch tent before dark later on." Eriel smiled at him.

Reluctantly Keralin left his comfortable position on the sand and dusted the sand the collected on his clothes. Keralin gathered some strong sticks, then criss-crossed them. After singing a large leaf from the trees he placed it over the top. He looked briefly over to where Aelir lay, sound asleep, snoring lightly. He smiled and got back to helping Eriel with making a temporary shelter. He lifted the 'roof' and placed more sticks underneath to hold it up. The leaf hung over the sides, and provided walls as well. It wasn't fancy, but it did the job of keeping the elements out.
"After you." Keralin said, opening the make-shift tent.

Eriel smiled at him sweetly and walked into the tent, she saw the stick on top and prayed that it wouldn't fall. Eriel looked at Keralin, who had entered the tent with a sigh then lay on her back breathing heavily. After awhile she looked at Keralin. "So... I picked up a fragment from your memories when I wrapped my mind around yours..." Eriel winced slightly as his smiled turned into a slightly frown. "And I picked up some place you call err... Panellia of something." Eriel paused. "Wanna talk about it?" She asked him gently.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"Panellia... Cursed city of the Elves. Or at least that's what I call it. The Elves over here got the same idea as we did, which was sealing ourselves in from the world." Keralin sighed. "The city itself is a splendour magnificent buildings, beautiful fruits and vegetables, some very different from our own, the people are friendly. The wall surrounding the city was made to resemble the outside, trees engraved with many leaves. Some even had animals. It was what was outside the walls that made the place seem desolate.
"The amount of magic needed to create a wall of that size though, as you would have guessed, immense. They didn't use their own strength, they used the strength of the land. Everything around the walls is dead, not even the tiniest organism can survive. There is nothing. We are supposed to love life, to enjoy everything about it. That town however, is an abomination. While I wouldn't be sad to see it gone, I can't be happy to know that the people who lived there would be suffering. "
Keralin looked at Eriel, hoping that she would understand. "I should also tell you that last time I was here, it was fraught with war. All the major nations were trying to expand their territories. So be wary where you stand, any place could be a trap."

Eriel grinned then cast a spell then covered the tent with leaves and made the surrounding land become a gentle slope, camouflaging the tent. Eriel looked at her mate. "Come on, lets rest, we're gonna have a long night later on, and I'd really prefer walking in the night in such hostile lands." Eriel smiled then lay her head on the grass.

"Trust me, its better to walk in the light." Keralin mentioned lightly. "I want to watch for a bit and lay a few wards. I'll teach them to you in the morning as some are a little wordy." Keralin opened the flap and was about to walk outside when he remembered something he forgot. He turned around to face Eriel lying on the grass and said "Love you." He walked out after that and cast the spells that would ward anything away from them.

Eriel listened closely to Keralin and when he said 'love you' she nearly ran up to him. Eriel flushed and then mouthed a short, "You too." before she lay on the grass again. After awhile, she opened the tent flapped and walked outside, joining Keralin on a rock. "You can go in, I'll take the next watch. After all, I can't sleep now." Eriel grinned. "Go on." When he opened his mouth to protest, Eriel just placed her hand in front of his mouth. "Go on, I'll be fine." She said softly.

Keralin knew he wouldn't be able to argue with Eriel. He nodded and slowly went back into the tent. The sun was now gone leaving only a glow on the horizon. With Eriel in front of it, the sight was perfect. He lingered a bit then went in, committing the sight to memory. He hadn't realised just how tired he was until he lay down on the grass. Keralin struggled to keep his mind open but the effort was futile. It was as if sleep was a creature waiting to pounce and found its opportunity. Similar to how it got Aelir it got Keralin as well. Both were sleeping.

Eriel looked at Keralin with a smile then stood, opening her mind to the outside to a radius of fifty feet in each direction. Before long she sat down again, eyes piercing the forest that surrounded them with ease. Eriel sighed softly and made a replica of herself then walked back into the tent. As she entered the flap she tripped on a root and fell flat on something soft. It was not until she felt a dagger pressed to her throat did she realize who it was. Eriel burst out laughing.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"You scared the hell out of me!" Keralin said with a huge sigh of relief. He removed the dagger from her throat and threw it into the corner. No matter how hard he tried then, he couldn't help but laugh. He wrapped his arms around her and rolled her off him gently. He looked again into those green eyes. He wanted to say something, but nothing came to him. Words simply couldn't describe what he felt at that moment.

Eriel smiled. "That scared the hell out of you?" Eriel laughed again. "Then I intend to do it a lot more." She grinned and rolled over to him, "That was the best expression on your face I've ever seen." Eriel grinned wider. "I look forward to viewing it again and again when I sleep." Eriel smiled. "What's wrong?" She asked suddenly. "Or rather, when will we move? Its nearly sunrise, you've been sleeping like a log the whole night through!" Eriel grinned at him.

"Well, thanks for letting me sleep anyway." Keralin said with a grin on his face. "This is a good time to leave now actually. I'll scry our felon and see where he is. If he's still out at sea, which is almost certain, we'll try to find Panellia as it is the only port that would accept an Elven barge. Not to mention-" Keralin was cut off by Aelir's loud yawning. Keralin looked at Aelir with a look of annoyance on his face.
What? Aelir said innocently. You woke me up with your talking.
"Not to mention," Keralin continued "that there are pirates and raiders all along these parts. Again I have to say that this was the last time I was here." Keralin wanted to find a recent map of the land, but for that he would need to visit one of the towns that actually welcomed Elves. "With humans, and those with life spans as short as theirs, time moves much faster and so much could have changed." Keralin went down to the ocean's edge and waited for Eriel to accompany him. When she was at the water's edge with him he cast the spell.
"Draumr Kopa." And the water smoothed and became like glass. He had a mental image of the boat the man was on. All that came up though was black. Keralin sighed. They weren't going to find him this way.

Eriel groaned. "Well, what do you suggest we do now? I'm no good in tracking him down without a map, and I'm not good with a map." Eriel yawned. "And yeah, you better thank me for letting you sleep, I'm tired, but I guess its worth it, especially since you reacted that way" Before long, Keralin moved again, keeping along the coast. Eriel looked around, curious of the land under her feet. Eriel looked up into Keralin's eyes, then quickly placed an arrow on her string, looking around warily, suddenly remembering his words. "So, what's the plan if we're ambushed? The standard 'you in front me at the back' I presume?" Eriel asked, trying to start a conversation despite the pickle they were in. They had lost a fugitive, and couldn't scry him, and violated a royal decree.

"I doubt it will happen that often. A single traveller has an extremely higher chance of being mugged than two travelling together. Besides, Panellia may not be the most illustrious city but it does have what we need. I suggest we head there now. It should be down the beach, if not... Then there is one place that I should go back to. I just wonder..." Keralin seemed to lose concentration as he departed in his own thoughts. Shaking his head, Keralin looked up the beach. "Either way, we should move. It'd be best to stay on the ground until we reach the city, sorry Aelir."
I'll be fine, just as long as I'm able to get some sleep tonight. He sounded irritated, which was new to Keralin.
Something on your mind? Keralin asked cautiously.
I'll tell you later. For now I just want to go. Aelir snapped back.
Keralin started to worry about Aelir, usually he was easy going.
He must be really tired. Keralin thought. "This way, it will be sunset by the time we get there." Keralin said, picking up his things and taking out a small round object with glass on one side and a needle in the middle. "Compass still works. Excellent." He looked up and hefted his pack, wishing that he had time to find out what he had left. "Lets head off." He waited for Eriel.

Eriel raised an eyebrow and followed after him after awhile she could see walls in the distance, and something swooping down on them, releasing a powerful cry that stunned her. Eriel tapped Keralin's shoulder, shivering as she did so. Eriel waited for him to notice then said softly. "What... is that?" She asked then suddenly stopped and fell into a stance she normally used when handling a bow. Keralin stopped and looked at her. Eriel quickly told him to be quiet as a bush rustled nearby. Eriel tightened her grip on her string, occasionally seeing human figures in the forest beside them.

"Put your weapon back Eriel," Keralin cautioned. "and make sure you keep walking calmly." He kept walking slowly, keeping his eyes on the ground in front of him. "That is just a scout, an elf that changed his body to a bird-like creature. He will report us to the guards. After that I cannot be certain." Aelir padded along beside them, keeping close and watching the tree line. The fleeting figures were still in the trees but they didn't come any closer. After a few more minutes of walking the scenery suddenly changed, the forest they had been walking past suddenly vanished, leaving a barren wasteland. Looking back they could see that the tree line ended a little while back. Just walking on the dead ground felt wrong and was extremely uncomfortable, Keralin had to stop himself from vomiting.

Eriel sighed and lowered her bow then placed the shaft back in her quiver. "If you say so..." She said softly then suddenly noticed that there was no more life around them. With a jolt, Eriel realized that they were no longer walking near the forest, but on sand... dead sand with nothing in it, not even a worm. Eriel groaned softly and placed her arm around Keralin's waist. "You 'kay?" She asked with a frown on her face.

"I had forgotten what it was like to stand on this ground again." Keralin said softly, regaining his posture. Looking back another one of his fears were confirmed. "The space is bigger now. This is only the beginning, the rest of this land had countless other atrocities done to it." Keralin put his hand on Eriel's shoulder and continued on. The wall was able to be seen in detail now, it had changed, but very little. Instead of a compltetely smooth outside wall, it had sharp spikes directed downwards to ward off ladders and grapple hooks. Archers could now be seen on the top of the walls, aiming their arrows at them. Using magic to enhance his voice, Keralin shouted in the ancient language;
"Eka fricai un Shur'tugal." While that wouldn't put trust in them, it gave them something to think about. "Keep walking Eriel, as I keep saying I have no idea how this is going to happen."

OOC: Hint, hint. Make something up, don't just wait for me.

OOC: But..but...*Tears welling up in eyes* I'm a blonde! I DON'T think! :( sigh, nvm I'll do something

IC: Eriel sighed and rested her head on his shoulder, breathing deeply, feeling suddenly someone draining on her strength. She looked at Keralin, raising an eyebrow when she felt an arrow embed itself in her shoulder. Eriel frowned and pushed Keralin's hands away then pulled out the arrow with a grunt. Eriel lurched forwards as Keralin pushed her downwards as a hail of spears flew above their heads. Eriel quickly pushed herself off the ground drawing her blade as file upon file of all pike and archers surrounded them, eyes studying the pair carefully.

OOC: There, I know it sux, but at least it gives you something to reply to.

OOC: LOL! Dw, I'm blonde too and I couldn't think of much else to put here. But it's alright it works well.

Keralin raised his voice and shouted in the ancient language "I mean you no harm if you mean us no harm!" He had to make sure that he would be able to defend himself, and more importantly, Eriel, if needed. The pikemen faultered for a moment, waiting for orders. The archers released the tension from their bows but stood ready. After a few seconds an elf with ornately covered armor emerged from the wall and walked over to them. He was about to speak when Keralin lifted his head to look at the commander.
"It cannot be!" The commander said in astonishment. "Keralin! What are you doing here after all this time!?"
Keralin sighed and lowered his head again. "Mudir, (Mood-ee-er) I am here tracking a wanted criminal, escaped from the prisons of the humans. He is also wanted by the Elves of Du Weldenvarden for practising the dark arts."
"And you think that by capturing him now, you can redeem yourself of what you did?" Mudir was clearly angry, shaking his hand at Keralin.
"I can never redeem myself, nor do I want forgiveness. I am only here because I don't know how this land has changed since I left. If you feel the need to punish me for what I did when I was a different person, then I shall accept it." Keralin seemed resigned to his fate, as it was in the hands of Mudir now.
"Keralin," Mudir spoke in a formal voice, "you were outcast from the city many years ago for crimes that I shall not repeat. You will be escorted into the city and placed into the dungeon awaiting time that a court will judge you. Your friend and dragon are free to enter the city or leave." A few soldiers grabbed hold of Keralin and put chains around his arms and legs. Then shoved him off towards the city walls. Tell Eriel not to worry, and that after this court hearing is over I will tell her everything. Keralin sent quickly off to Aelir.
Ok, but if they hurt you or plan to hurt you I will crush these walls to get to you. Anger resounded deep in his voice. Keralin was led into the city down a few secluded streets and into the dungeon. Aelir stayed with Eriel and relayed his message.

Eriel widened her eyes and looked at Keralin puzzled. Her eyes darkened and she took one step and slapped Mudir, hard, eyes already black when he turned. Mudir glared at Eriel then turned away, leading the rest of his squad back into the city. Eriel let a tear run down her cheek and contacted Keralin. "I am entering the city, I will be present at the court hearing, and I swear upon my blade and my position as a dragon rider and ranger of the northern woods that I will strike every single person in the city who has a audacity to strike you." Eriel said in anger, although sadness permeated the message then walked slowly to the city, blade dragging behind her, dividing the sand, she took a path which eventually formed the shape of a rune.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
OOC: I had been procrastinating for a long time because it's hard to write this part of my character's story, since it has to do with my fan-fic story. I have the major events played out in my mind, this having to do with one of them. Unfortunately you won't be hearing the full story for a few chapters yet. I'll do my best though.

Keralin was taken through the back alleys of the city avoiding the people at any chance they could, but eventually it was unavoidable. The uproar created was intense, almost immediately after the first citizen shouted "It's the betrayer, Keralin!" Soon the guards were surrounded with angry people yelling unflattering remarks and, in some occasions, throwing verious objects at Keralin. Keralin kept his head high though, showing the rest that he was not scared, but not proud of what he had done. He took everything in stride. Eventually the guards had to push the people aside and make a path for him, leading to the council chambers, which had the dungeon beneath it. The people yelled for justice and pushed against the rigid bodies of the guards, the guards trying hard to keep the crowds at bay. The crowds quieted down and shrank away as Eriel and Aelir came walking after Keralin. The council building looked exactly the same as it had three hundred years ago, formed at the base of a massive tree. The paths of flowers growing silently as the footfalls of the soldiers stepped beside them. Aelir was shown where he could stay for the moment, in the trees. He waited to see if Eriel would accompany him or follow after Keralin into the dungeon.

Keralin walked through the maze of corridors, being shown the way to the council chambers. He could see the great metal doors now, gleaming against the light streaming in from the windows. But instead of going through them, they took a detour to the left however, leading down a staircase. The only light that was available was coming from a shuddered lantern, no light from outside permeated this room. The two guards that were with him now shoved him forcefully into an empty metal chamber, obviously warded against magic of any kind. It was small, only four strides from wall to wall and slab of stone for a bed. Keralin wondered when the council would be asking for him. He had his story straight as it was one that he could not forget.

Eriel cried a little and pulled her hood down her face, the only sign of ehr crying were the occasional tears from her cheeks. With a sigh she pulled her cloak around herself and cast a spell, time stopped for awhile and she ran after Keralin, leaving dumbstruck people who were gaping at the place where she had stood.

Eriel looked at the guards who threw Keralin into his cell with anger, her dagger flashed gray in the light, she cast the spell again and stabbed the man's throat, then the other before the time resumed its course. Eriel knelt down beside Keralin's cell, clasping his hand tightly. "Fool..." She said as she pulled back her hood, her green eyes now navy blue, it was as if a sea moved in it if you looked hard enough. Eriel turned as she felt six people approaching, she strung her bow and took aim, blue eyes now black, ready to kill the first person to reveal himself..

"Please Eriel, don't make this worse than it already is! I won't be seeing any more of my people killed over me." Keralin sighed with sadness deep in his voice. "You deserve an explaination, as do the rest of the people of this city, and I will tell it after you get the hell out of here. Get these bodies out of here or they will execute me without any sort of trial." Keralin looked at her pleadingly, reaching his hand out of the bars. "I knew that when I came here that this would happpen, its all I deserve. If it comes down to it I will fight to survive, but until then I will tell everyone why I did what I did."

Eriel looked back at him, eyes rapidly shifting from blue to black. "Only because I love you..." Eriel said softly, she sniffed and froze time again, then burnt the bodies. The combination of burning and freezing time was taxing on her energy, but Eriel wouldn't let Keralin die like that, with a groan from Eriel, time resumed its course, the only signs of the bodies ever being there were ashes, which Eriel quickly swept into a corner. Eriel smiled at Keralin and then teleported behind the door which was opening. Eriel grimaced as one of the six spat on Keralin.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
Keralin knew this is was the least he deserved, yet the final justice was coming soon. One guard said in a disgusted voice,
"This is the mighty Keralin?" He looked Keralin up and down. "From the way the stories are told he was supposed to be near unstoppable. But he's just a pitiful peasant. The council has now ordered your presence, behanve yourself and no 'unfotunate accidents' will happen." The point couldn't be clearer. Keralin reached out to Eriel with his mind
Wait for a minute then come after me, nobody will suspect you. He also eminated a sense of contentment and peace. I know what I'm doing.
Keralin reached out his arms to be cuffed and said cooly in the ancient language "Do what you will, but I will attend this council meeting with you breathing at the end of the day or not." That took the soldiers aback. All of them took a step back and looked nervously at each other. Then they laughed forcefully, clearly scared now. Keralin's face showed only impatience as the guards muttered upon themselves about who would risk themselves to open the cage. Eventually one of the guards gathered the courage to open the cell door and escort Keralin to the chambers.

The large metallic doors looked the same as they had, the same patterns and swung open the exact same way. Aelir was present, sitting in the corner, a small light illuminating him. aside from the semi-circle table, the rest of the chamber was different. The thirteen council men and women were at their chairs, a chair for Keralin was illuminated in the middle and there was a crowd along the outside edge, all here for the sentancing. Eriel, after waiting for the two minutes, came to the chambers and was escorted to a seat next to Aelir. Three resounding bangs of the gavel silenced the whole room. The head woman stood up and said formally;
"We are gathered here today to assess the guilt of Keralin of Du Weldenvarden, scourge of the land." A resounding sneer went through the crowd, broken by another bang of the gavel. Keralin stood up at that point, his face a stone set of no emotion.
"Keralin, the charges against you are serious and able to be proven by everyone in this courtroom. Do you have anything to say for your crimes?"
Keralin took a deep breath and said loudly, "Before I can defend myself I would have what charges against me said aloud." A slight murmur went through the crowd, obviously confused.
"Very well. The charges against you are as follows: Practising the dark arts of magic, use of the dark arts of magic, killing of innocent lives, and finally, most serious of the charges, annihilation of an entire civilisation."
Keralin stared down at the floor and muttered "Sounds about right." He took a deep breath and stared into the crowd with sorrow in his eyes. "I admit that this body did those things, but I have to say that this was not my mind and power that could accomplish those tasks." Keralin took in a shuddering breath.
"During my time away from this city I travelled the lands, and during those travels, I met a woman." He knew this was going to hurt him and Eriel at the same time but it had to be said. "Her name was Meridel, (Mare-i-dell) and I fell in love with her. We lived together for twenty years having a happy life. The fates conspired against me however, Draconians raided our land and house, killing my beloved." Keralin closed his eyes, letting his tears fall. "I don't remember much after that, all I know was that I went into a rage. I killed as many draconians as I could lay my hands on, evnetually I wanted more power. So I could kill many more. I sought out any of the dark arts I could learn without killing myself. All I thought about was making those beasts suffer as much as I did. I accomplished my goal, gaining so much power that I was rivalling the 'gods' that the humans and Dwarves worship. I thought I could use the power to resurrect my dear Meridel, but I failed almost dying in the process. It was when I was lying unconscious on the ground, my rage subsided, that her spirit contacted mine. I had failed her, and she told me..." Keralin stopped for a moment, it wasn't because he couldn't remember the words for he could recite them perfectly, it was because what she had said had affected him so profoundly that he wasn't sure if they were for anyone else.
"She told me that she had been watching me, and that after seeing what I had done, hated everything about me and everything that I could be." Keralin burst into tears and sobbed out the last sentance, "With the last bit of energy her soul had, she killed me. She restored me to what I was before... Before everything."

Eriel clenched her fists and breathed heavily, not because of the fact that Keralin had loved another, for she already knew that a long time ago when he told her on an island, but because she felt powerless to defend him. Eriel felt a combination of rage and sadness swim across her mind. She sighed softly and turned away from the scene, she quickly took off her cloak and placed it on her chair. Eriel felt a powerful urge to jump right into the center of the thirteen and get the three of them out of there, but something was preventing her from doing so. That something, so she said later on in life, was her conscience.

Eriel placed a palm on Aelir absentmindedly.

OOC: I've actually been adding to this piece be piece so it might sound a little strained...

The council sat down at talked amongst themselves while the people in the crowd were either stunned silent or near the brink of outrage and voilence. Many yelled out in protest and others walked out. Keralin wiped his face and sat back down in his chair, he did not hide face though as his pride would never allow it. Aelir was stunned to say the least, as Keralin had not revealed everything about his past to him. After a few minutes of the commotion the lead woman banged her gavel, indicating that she intended to speak. Almost immediately the crowd quetened down and waited for the verdict, holding their breath. The head woman spoke formally, "Return the prisoner to the jail cells, we will call for him after we have reached an agreement." Keralin stood up at that moment and spoke loudly in the ancient language.
"I swear upon my word as a Rider, I am telling the truth." This took many of the Elves by surprise and dirvert their gaze to look at Aelir. A minute passed before a couple of the guards took Keralin from his seat in the center of the chamber to the great metal doors that led out. The guards were much more respectful this time around, giving only slight nudges and not making any unkind comments. The prison was the same though, unforgiving and unshifting. Keralin awaited for the next part of his fate. If they found him guilty, then he would plead that he be kept alive in a cell like this so that Aelir could live his life.
He shouldn't have to suffer for my mistakes. He thought absentmidedly.
No, but I should know who you are.
I'm sorry Aelir, I had hoped to avoid this. I had hoped never to revisit this part of my history.
But you are now and you have to deal with it. Just as you have to deal with the fact that I am asking now if there is anything else I should know.
There is plenty, and I will say it in time. But for now, I have something that I need to do alone.
I chose you for a reason Keralin, although I am not sure what that is I have never doubted my decision. We are together now and I share everything of you.

Keralin closed his eyes and fell to his knees, silently crying. "Meridel.... Goodbye." Keralin reached for his chest and grabbed something that was, yet wasn't there. In his hands he held his sins, his sorrow, his hatred, and his love for Meridel, although there wasn't anything in his hands at all. Symbolically he drew them away from him and cast them off into the darkness, ridding himself of everything that he once was. He could have sworn that he felt lighter, but he told himself that he had only replaced those burdens with others that were easier to carry.
A new day is coming Keralin, and we will walk through it together. And we shall also walk with the ones we love. An image of Eriel and Emrhyst passed between them and Keralin immediately felt better.

Eriel walked down the stairs silently. She looked at Keralin through the bars with a sigh and sat down outside the bars. "What can I say Keralin?" She said softly, almost to herself. "You or rather we, have gotten into quite a pickle eh?" She said louder, turning her head as a few guards came in.
They faced her without emotion and gently brought her to a side of the room . They quickly passed Keralin his dinner and walked off after locking the cell. Eriel laughed at the look on his face, she took out some food from her pack. "Here, this might help make it a bit more appetizing" She smiled at him and reached between the bars, placing the food gently on the floor.

"Thanks. I keep forgetting how bad the food is here." Keralin said graciously taking the food Eriel gave him. "You might want to go back to your room and sleep, it's going to take a while before they decide." Keralin sighed and said softly, "Thanks.... For being with me for this and not pushing me away. I honestly don't deserve you."

"Eh..." Eriel blushed, though she tried to hide it. "I wonder how long this will take..." She said softly after awhile. "I'm staying here, I'm not sleepy, and I don't intend to let the guard spit on you again." Her eyes flashed dangerously as she said this. "Come on, eat up. It won't do with you going into that chamber again on an empty stomach." She laughed and smiled at him then took out some food from her pack, sitting on the cold floor in front of him, with a torch above them. "How romantic." Eriel said sarcastically.

"Almost like a date." Keralin joked, giving a few forced laughs. Though the effort just made him feel worse. "Eriel, I should warn you. There are many more things in this land that I have to pay for and, unlike this incident, I have no excuse. This land shaped me as much as I shaped it. There are things about me that I would have liked to never revist, but I have a feeling that I'm going to have to repay for everything I did." Keralin sighed. "I'm scared that you will hate me for what I have done, but I'm even more scared that Aelir will be punished for what I did."

"Aww..." Eriel said softly, grasping Keralin's hand as she did so. "Don't worry, I won't hate you, I don't think I can do matter what you've done" She smiled at him, it slowly gave way to a look of anxiety. "It's so much more troublesome now that Aelir is bonded to you..." Eriel sighed. "We could always run, remember, that fugitive is still somewhere, and you could make up for your past crimes by capturing him." Eriel smiled and ate a grape. "Think about it Keralin." She said softly and winced as a guard gripped her shoulder tightly, roughly pushing her away. He tried to spit at Keralin but Eriel stopped it mid-air, turning his saliva back at his face. "Nice try..." Eriel mused.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
The guard wiped his face and shot a look at Eriel that could've been straight daggers. "The council has called for you, seems they've reached their decision." He pulled keys out of his belt and opened the door. As he escorted Keralin out of the cell he turned to Eriel and said, "I don't know why you're bothering to defend this traitor, he's done far too much to save himself." He pushed Keralin up the stairs and back into the council chambers. Aelir was once again present, as was many of the people. Eriel walked in after him and sat next to Aelir as she did last time. Three bangs of the gavel wasn't needed to get the people silent as everyone waited patiently for the sentancing.
"We are gathered once again to pass the people's judgement on what is to be done with Keralin of Du Weldenvarden." Keralin noted that they didn't add on the title 'Scourge of the land'. "While there are some that don't agree on what we have decided upon, it is our decision and will be respected by all the people." She paused and took a deep breath, clearly she didn't like what she was going to do which made Keralin uneasy.
"We have decided that Keralin is not guilty of all charges. We find that those crimes were commited by a being that is not Keralin and therefore we cannot punish him. You are free to do whatever you will." She looked at Keralin for that last sentance. Keralin smiled and bowed gratefully to the council, some of the crowd went wild with anger and attempted to exact their own justice. The council merely stood up and waved their hands, casting numerous spells of immense power. The crowds were stopped in their tracks and forced back until they calmed down and left. The head woman said to him while casting her spells, "What you wanted is on the table in the corner, as well as your artefacts. Now leave and don't come back for a very long time." Keralin nodded and collected his things as well as the map and docking notes he wanted. He climbed onto Aelir's back and helped Eriel up as well. "Hang on!" He said as Aelir reared and charged out of the metal doors and into the sky passage. They emerged with nearly the whole town in a riot, some even had the nerve to fire a few arrows at them. Keralin's magic turned them away and Aelir soared over the wall without a scratch. They flew for a few minutes until the town of Panellia was once again covered in magical forest. They landed after that and dismounted off of Aelir.
"Well, it's not every day we're escaping our own people huh?" Keralin said jokingly.

OOC: sorry for the God-mod.

Eriel just hugged him, not bothering to answer his question. She felt herself suddenly being wrapped in his arms as well, one about her waist and the other on her head. Eriel sighed. "Now, I suppose it's time you told me everything... And I mean everything Keralin." She looked straight into his eyes until he flinched

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"I did promise you." Keralin said, lowering his gaze. "Aelir, you deserve to hear this as well, this will be a very long story." Indicating that they should both sit. He cast a quick spell that would help him remember the details, and began slowly. "When I first came here, I had not the slightest idea of what was happening. I left Panellia and was ambushed by a few Draconians, during that encounter I recieved this nasty wound." Keralin said patting his leg.
"Anyway, I was brought to the city of Unfrecia where someone died trying to heal my wound. I shall never forget his name, Naej'al. I stayed there for a year, my wound slowly healing on its own. I also learned a lot whilst there, in fact its where most of my knowledge came from, I also trained in sword-play. Well at least what the human's had to offer, which was a great deal. I also taught them the use of the ancient language. They had magic users that weren't using the language and were controlling it brilliantly, but there were problems as everyone found with the magical skill were taken for training. But thats another story, after a while the Draconians theatened to attack the city of Unfrecia and I was forced to negotiate with the Elves for help.
"I was sent back to Panellia and there asked for the council's help, very much in the same way that I was tried just moments before. It seems that the Elves of that town didn't want to leave their city and attacked me at every turn, killing many of their own soldiers in the process. Elves don't believe in God's or higher beings. But something was watching over me in that city as I somehow managed to escape every situation. Eventually the council decided that it was not worth sending their soldiers and banished me from the city. They didn't want any more of their soldiers dying becuase of me, and I don't blame them either." Keralin sighed.
"I returned to Unfrecia ashamed, but alive. The Draconians hadn't attacked but they were gaining in numbers. As I entered the town I was given a warm reception, glad that I had actually decided to come back."
Keralin laughed lightly,
"How could I not go back? That place was more my home than any other. Two days after that the siege began, fiery boulders being flung through the air and slamming against buildings and people I had come to know. Swarms of arrows flying everywhere, killing all but the most resourceful. Magi dying from over expenditure. I had never seen so much death, I was so scared. I ran. I ran and kept running until my friend Leo stopped me. He said something that I had not forgotten in all my years.
'Could you live with yourself if you ran? These people gave their lives to prtoect this city and the people in it, that includes you. Make their sacrifice worth while and fight while you can.'
I stayed and fought, and earned my first kill. Then my second and third. The problem I found with that was I enjoyed it, I enjoyed the adrenaline pumping through my veins and the power I felt when the life drained from my enemy. That was the beginnings of evil in my soul, but that comes later. The seige lasted for a week before the Laenuru arrived and drove off the remaining Draconian forces. The next night there was a party like none other, everyone joined in the celebrations me included. After that though I knew that I had to leave, I said my goodbyes and left the town that was my home for three years."

Keralin stopped for a quick breather and some water. After so many years his memory had degraded somewhat and some memories were comletely missing. He renewed his spell to help him recount the tale.

OOC: I'm breaking this up into parts so its easier to read and allows Eriel to add a comment or two.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
OOC: Sorry for the long wait, I've had to think about the little details which wer quite infuriating for me.

Keralin took another breath and continued his story,
"The map that Leo gave me was very detailed but I simply couldn't make heads or tails of it, so I wandered over the roads unsure of what I was going be next. After a few weeks of travelling and not seeing a single soul I heard a noise. A small 'tink, tink, tink.' It reminded me of metal banging against metal like in the siege. I thought I could run and help whoever needed me. Turns out if was only a smith working on his latest achievement, A sword made for a nearby king. The smith was kind and showed me how to use the map properly, which made me a little angry as I had passed several towns without realising it. He told me his name was Gerald and offered me a place to stay for the night in return that I help him carry a few materials he needed. I gladly accepted.
It was actually quite simple what I had to do, just pick up a few pieces of raw ore put it into a furnace and repeat. Then add coal from his stockpile to keep the furnace running. I found the work calming, and enjoyed it. He thanked me for the help and offered me dinner with his family, I didn't want to intrude but he insisted that I come after giving him such a great amount of help. After a little bit of arguing he convinced me to come. His house wasn't too luxurious, but it was large. Most of it was in disrepair and needed fixing, as most human buildings do, but it warming to see his family around it tending to the small patch of farm they had to feed themselves. Gerald had four children, two who helped in the fields, one that was not yet strong enough to lift a shovel and another who was unborn." Keralin smiled at the memory.
"The children were curoius about me and my pointed ears, trying to touch them when they could. Anyway, Gerald introduced me as the traveller who turned up at the right moment. I told them who I was, where I came from and why I was here. They said that I was lucky to have shown up at this time, they were going to deliver Gerald's ultimate masterpeice. The king's sword. He said that he had worked for months on this one sword trying to get it perfect. Unfortunately he had spent too much time on it and had to deliver it within the next few days, so it was fortunate for them that I came along. Gerald asked if I could stay for a few more days and help him with the sword as his children were too busy tending the fields to keep them fed. It was an offer that I was more than happy to accept. I thought that it would be good to stay a couple of days, to rest a little and help them. Gerard explained to him that although he had few luxuries his work was respected and used widely, he had even had a few special orders from mercanaries and travellers. This got me thinking that maybe I should get a real sword for myself instead of the one that I had been using since I left Du Weldenvarden so I thought I might just learn what I could while I could.
For the next five days I helped Gerald with his smithing and asked him about the trade. Gerald was more than willing to share what he knew about smithing, saying that at he was grateful that someone had finally asked. I enjoyed smithing with Gerald, he said I had a natural skill with the molten metal. 'Patience' he said was the difference between good quality and excellent. We made the king's sword perfectly, to the exact specifications requested and when the King from the nearby town visited to pick it up he was stunned that it was crafted so beautifully. He thanked Gerald for his work by giving him a house inside the city with his own furnace and personal work for the Castle. That night, Gerald and his family celebrated with a large feast. I asked Gerald that night if he could help me craft a sword for myself and he was more than happy to oblige. After the entire family was moved we got to work on it, and before long it was almost complete."
Keralin sighed heavily.
"All it needed was a gem for the pommell. I decided to show Gerald some magic, taking him to where I felt the perfect gem for the sword. It was in the city so I had to do it at night. I used my magic to pull it from the earth, actually I pulled out two. One for him and one for me. He looked at me with amazement, then ran for his house. After I caught up with him at his home he drew the sword we created and pointed it at me. He kept screaming 'Get away from me demon!' and 'Only the devil's work can unmake the world God created for us'. I fled the city and back into the country. I only ever saw that town once again, but it wasn't for many years later. The gems I pulled from the ground that day are the ones I have in my swords today."

Post Re: Blending in, running out
OOC: I'll skip alot of it but I have say in detail this part of the story, the time when he becomes encased in darkness.

Keralin continued to tell his life story to Eriel and Aelir, revealing those aspects about himself that were supposed to remain hidden. He recounted how he went from town to city to village across the land, making friends and enemies in different parts of the world. How he fought numerous battles and how his thirst for swordfighting increased and how his want for power kept increasing. He also narrated how he loved smithing and how it helped him order his thoughts, as well as his endless quest for knowledge. He slowed down though when he got the most important part of his story.

"At that town I got a job as a mercenary guard for the King and his family as I needed some money. It was there I met Meridel, she was another mercenary like me but, she had an indomitable spirit and a loyalty to her comrades that made their blood burn like wild fire. I liked her from the moment that we met, but I didn't know what could have been coming. We travelled for three months and we fought with words and swords many times along the way. As much with each other as well as anyone who tried to harm the King. One night we were aruging and my temper was getting to the straining point, she kept insulting my beliefs and I kept poking holes in her's. Swords were drawn and we duelled, with fists. For a Human she fought well, but compared to Elven standards she was but an ameteur. When we finished fighting and were tired and panting we kissed for the first time. We made love that night.
For the rest of the time we got closer and closer, enjoying each other's company. When we finished our duties and got paid we left together to the next town. When we arrived in the next town, I think it was called Panea (Pay-Nee-A), a monk wandered up to us and congratulated us. Both of us had no idea what for and when we asked him he said it was because Meridel was pregnant. We were both stunned and had nothing to say in return. Little did we know what was coming around the corner. We stayed at the town for a month making our way as guards for whomever payed the most. After that..."
Keralin stopped, chocking on his own voice.
"The Draconians attacked. They swarmed through the town killing anyone they came across, except me and Meridel. We fought our way through the legions of Draconians together until we were separated and both of us tiring. Thats when... she was killed." Keralin sighed and closed his eyes.
"I don't remember much after that except that I was in a rage and casting spells everywhere there was a Draconian. When I got to her she was already dead and my decent into madness was assured. I used the knowledge I gained from my travels to use the dark magic and increase my own power. With every Draconian I killed I lost a little of myself yet gained so much power that I had lost my mind. My only thought was revenge, to make them feel the knowledge of loss, to know how it felt to tear everything inside into shreds and set them aflame. I reached into the realm of Shadows and harnessed their power for my own. I had become more powerful than any Sorcerer or Shade so their power was my own. Every soul I sent to the afterworld I captured and forced to work for my own ends, to take the punishment that my soul should have taken by using the dark arts."
Keralin found it hard to continue yet he managed to spit out the words of his story.
"What I didn't know was that instead of controlling the shadows, they were controlling me. I ramaged through the land killing everything that reminded me of the Draconians, that included my own people. I arrived at the Draconian's last settlement, their birthplace and their stronghold. I broke their defences easily and started killing everything. That's when Meridel slipped through the gates and stopped me. She whispered into my ear that she was fine and happy now, that she resented me killing these innocent mothers and children like they had killed her. When I saw what I was doing I couldn't continue but the Shadows had their grip on me so firmly that they weren't going to let it go without a fight. Meridel used the power of her own soul to banish the shadows inside me back into the nether where they belonged. I left the town in tears and chose exile, and there I stayed contemplating suicide. I wanted so badly to end my pain because I could never forgive myself for what I had done or live with the fact that she wasn't there with me." Keralin placed his hand over his heart.
"I had thought it would never heal that I would stay in the world alone until the day someone could kill me. I spent the rest of my days helping who I could, learning what I could about smithing so that I could live my life thoughtlessly creating for others. I longed for the warmth of my parents and my own home where I knew I could sleep without one eye open. So I organised for myself to come home."

Keralin finished his story with how he met Aelir and raised him, to the crafting of his armor and finally to meeting them for the first time.

OOC: It's a bit long but that should finish it, at least until I finish my Fan-fic.

OOC: *gasps in shock* caterpillar I just realized something but I'll pm you abt it hehe.

IC:Eriel looked at him through tears well hidden by a mask of magic. "I never knew..." She said softly. At that point her concentration slipped and the mask dissipated. Eriel quickly wiped her tears away. "I'm just emotional right now..." She sighed and looked at him. "Well... That marks the end of our story telling session I guess."
Eriel stood up and looked at the sky, breathing heavily. It was almost sunset. "I have an idea... You said that we needed to get into a port which accepts elven barges..." She stopped.
"Therefore, if we can get into that city again... And down to the port disguised, we should be able to catch him... right?" Eriel grinned.

"In theory yes, but our escape plan would have a difficult time getting to us without causing undue alarm." Keralin indicated that he was referring to Aelir. "But if we played our cards right, we could just get him outside the walls. But we'd have to wait for tomorrow, they will not accept travellers after sundown."

Eriel groaned. "Right. So in that case, we better pitch camp again. I'm not gonna watch this time..." She grinned at him and started setting up the tents.

OOC: Scene *set* Now, if you want, we'll just wait until we find out abt the kid... then continue.

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"Eriel..." Keralin said with an unsure tone in his voice, "I haven't told anybody that story because," He paused involuntarily, "because I was afraid. I was even more afraid of telling you because I thought it might make you hate me. I have to know, do you hate me for what I have done?"
Keralin braced himself for the answer, even if it did turn out bad.

Aelir pondered the question himself. While he was annoyed that Keralin didn't tell him about all of this before, he knew he couldn't hate him. He thought that he might do the same if Emrhyst was harmed.

"Well..." Eriel sighed. "Yes..." She paused. "And no." She ended. "Yes because I can't stand evil and no because my love for you is more than enough to suppress it." She smiled.
"No. I do not hate the new you. I hate the old you if that makes any sense. So forget about it. We love each other don't we? And if we love each other we can't hate each other right?" Eriel said.

"No, I suppose we can't." Keralin admitted, smiling. He was grateful for Eriel's words. "Here, let me help you with that." Keralin said holding his hands out to help with the tent. "It gets cold at this time of year."

Eriel smiled at Keralin and pushed the last support into the ground.
"It looks... decent." She let out a smile and put her hand on her hips, admiring the tent that they had made within an hour.
The sky was getting darker fast. Eriel could barely make out the last rays given out by the sun.
She turned to Keralin. "I'm gonna go in now. The cold is killing me..."

Will you be fine out here? Keralin asked Aelir. I could make something for you as well.
I'm ok. I can make a fire if need be. Aelir gave a toothy grin.
Keralin nodded and entered the tent, the air much warmer than it was outside yet it was still quite cold. It was a medium sized tent, enough to hold four people if they were cramped together. Keralin had to hunch his back a little to fit inside of it standing up.
"Eriel, I know I was a little anxious to have you here on this mission at first, but now that you're here. I couldn't imagine doing this without you."

Eriel ignored him and walked over, gently removing his armour.
She ran her left hand down his back, feeling every groove and bump and scar that he had amassed over the past 400 or so years.
With her right hand she traced the outline of his chest and his Rectus abdominus (OOC: That's the 6-pack)

OOC: Short caus i'm getting nervous... xD

OOC: Lol, could have just said muscles.
IC: Keralin helped Eriel remove her daggers and brought his own hand down Eriel's cheek and down to her arm. He brought her closer and they kissed. Slowly they removed their clothes, the coldness not bothering them anymore. They revelled in each other eyes, in the warmth of their bodies. That night, both warriors forgot about their troubles in the outside world and had concern only for each other.

OOC: This was hard to keep 'G' rated.

OOC: Just a short one.

IC: Eriel sighed as the pain she was initially feeling gave way to a wave of sensations akin to her mother's love for her yet stronger, deeper and a thousand times more soothing than what she had ever experienced.

*Eek... You're right. It took me quite some time to replace the Pl word which I will not utter here... Wow... Tough... Anyways, Time skip!*

Eriel smiled weakly and placed her hand on Keralin's shoulder, looking down at him.

OOC: Can't think of much... I'm still a virgin so... that's the best I can do. *shrug* btw think Star or Shade would come after us for this?

OOC: Only time will tell, we've kept it a 'G' rated as possible, but there might be something we're missing.

IC: Keralin stirred and opened his eyes slowly. The first thing he saw was Eriel's face looking down at him with the sun radiating from behind her. He knew this would be the most memorable moment he would have in a long time.
"Hey." He said, stroking the hair out of her eyes. "How are you this morning?" Keralin voice had changed a little, it was calmer than usual but it still sounded like him.

IC: Eriel smiled at him. "Well..." She lowered herself onto his chest. "Refreshed... Sore... Cold... and... Wide awake I suppose?" She whispered into his ear and stayed in that position.
Eriel twirled a bit of her hair and started to tickle Keralin behind the ear, all the while thinking of last night.
"I'm glad you're with me Keralin..." She said softly, trying to push all thoughts related to the danger they would face soon out of her head.

OOC: Well, I'll change it in a moment. Either way, he has a fair amount of muscles due to his blacksmithing and swordsplay.

IC:"And I'm glad that you let me be here with you." Keralin said back. He could have lay there for the day but the buzzing of Aelir in his mind forced him to listen.
Get up, there's something you should see out here. Aelir sent an image of a large column of smoke in the distance, away from the town. Keralin sighed and wrapped his arms around Eriel, enjoying the scent and feel of her body. Keralin then resigned himself to the morning and rolled Eriel off of him.
"Somebody else wants us to get up." His head motioning outside.

OOC: In short, a hunk haha.

IC:Eriel wanted to say 'Should I' but instead just sighed and sat up. Looking over her shoulder she saw Keralin getting dressed.
With a deep breath Eriel got up and changed. She looked at her robe and smiled then dyed it purple and tweaked it a little, now being held in place by a concealed band that fit nicely around her waist in addition to her hauberk. Eriel put it on and smiled. "Heh. Those elves would never be able to tell the difference between me and another woman now." She smirked walked out and looked at the column of smoke then back at Keralin.
"So... What now?"

Post Re: Blending in, running out
"First, I change my hair colour." Keralin said, casting a small spell. His hair changed from the shiny silver it was to silky black. "Didn't like this colour too much myself." He thought out aloud. "Aelir, you'll have to stay behind this time. People don't forget a dragon like you the next day."
I understand, but I'll be coming in after you in anything goes terribly wrong.
"Wouldn't have it any other way. You'll also have to carry my armor, it's far too recognizable. Apart from that, I need my cloak. I haven't worn this thing in years." He pulled out his dark blue cloak, with silver highlights. Keralin stared at it for a moment, remembering how he had recieved it. "This was my parting gift from the Magi at Unfrecia, calling me gifted from fate." Keralin shook his head and donned the cloak. "It doesn't matter anymore, it has come in handy many times." Keralin belted on only one of his swords and his dagger. "When you're ready, we'll go."
Keep an eye on that smoke, it reeks of death. Aelir cautioned.
"And you worry too much." Keralin reassured.

Eriel let out a weak smile and took two locks of hair from her fringe, twirled it, and secured it behind her head with a red band to match it then changed her cloak's colour to a blueish, greenish yet grayish shade of gray. It was just that. One single shade of gray overlapping all the embroidery.
She looked at Keralin and smiled. "You might wanna get rid of the highlights. If we needa run you don't want light shining off it." She laughed then stopped short. A fire flickered in the depths of her mind, warm and getting larger, stronger, livelier. She knew what it was at a glance.
"Keralin..." Eriel began. "I think I've conceived..." She said with a tone somewhere between excitement and anxiousness and a volume somewhere between a whisper and normal conversation, her eyes wide with amazement.
