Sephora and Javen

Another Allatik.

I plan on doing Tyleek's sister next.

Name: Sephora (pronounced Sef-aura)-Ora (Aura) for short.

Age: Sixteen

Gender: Female

Skills:
- Air/Wind: Being an Allatik, Sephora not only has a bond with an animal, but also an element. Sephora can summon the gentlest breeze to the strongest gale. Even small tornadoes, although they give her a headache if she keeps them for too long, since it takes so much control to keep such raw power from causing havoc, and she must rest, depending on the size, for at least two days before she can make another. The female Allatik can also coalesce the wind into crude weapons, such as arrows or spears to injure her opponent, or she can simply drive them back with a blast of wind so she can make a quick and clean retreat.

- Release: Using a short chant, "Bak Na Tal", Sephora can deepen the bond between herself and Javen in a way that she doesn't exactly despise, for it has its uses, but can be dangerous. She has little control in this state, and is leery to enter it if she can help it. It enhances her senses and reflexes to that of her Guardian. As Javen is a jaguar, his physical abilities are great. In this state, she can jump farther, see in the dark, smell and taste things she normally can't, and even think faster. She rarely uses this, however, due to the risk. However long she is in this state, she usually is required to recover for triple that time. (a full day=three days of rest)

- Disembodiment: This skill takes almost all of Sephora's energy from her and using it causes her to have to rest for a full day, at the least. Allatik's have the ability to deepen their animal bond another way. Chanting "Ka ma'k te" will allow Sephora to literally become one with Javen. Think of it as two minds in one body, but because Sephora, in a way, is Javen's mistress, she is in full control when inside his body.

- Rejuvenation: Allatik's are able to look young even when getting into old age. But this 'enchantment' gives Allatik's the ability to rejuvenate plant life (dead trees, flowers, grass, ect). Only extremely talented Allatik's can actually make plant life. Sephora never really got the hang of Rejuvenation for plant life, so she rarely uses this skill.

Race: A Pureblooded Allatik
- Allatik is a race that connects spiritually with the animal world and the earth itself. Every single Allatik has an unbreakable bond with a single certain creature (Sephora's being Javen, a jaguar.). In extremely rare, special cases, an Allatik can have a split connection, where said Allatik has more than one spiritual bond with more than one creature. Allatik legend states that this, though rare, only runs through pure blooded Allatik's.
Pure blooded Allatik's are also able to touch a connection within them that deepens the bond with their Guardian, known as 'Release'.

Hair: Ebony black; mid-back length

Eyes: Muddy, chocolate brown; kind and sincere, but have an edge to them and are always slightly suspicious.

Home Village: Ca' teak, a small village just outside the Beor mountains. Destroyed in a massive fire.

Parents: Ceben (father; deceased) Fenia (mother; missing) Benec~Chocolate brown panther (Father's companion; male-deceased) Soletha~Albino clouded leopard (Mother's companion; female-missing)

Siblings: None known

Character Personality: Sephora can be stubborn and unmoving, or she can be pliant and willing. Stubborn and unmoving Sephora will go through with any task she is given, regardless of the risks (unless Javen is at risk, then she'll call it off instantly) and see it finished to the end. Pliant and willing Sephora will let others speak for her and keeps mostly to herself, letting others make the major decisions. There are some times when she is a mix of both, but these times are rare occurrences. Sephora is mostly a gentle spirit, compassionate and kind to those that have been injured. She hates seeing others in pain and being powerless to help, especially if they are a loved one. She does not trust very easily, but even if she is still leery of you, if you ask for her help in a matter, she will aid you however she can. She will also protect you from harm if prompted or asked. Though she is cautious, the edge in her chocolate brown eyes sometimes fades to a dull wariness, then to a warm affection. You are a lucky soul if you manage to lower her guard and see her in a relaxed and trusting state. This does not happen often. Nearly every single time that she has let herself trust, she has been stabbed brutally in the back, gravelly injured, or very nearly killed. And yet from time to time she still attempts to reach out and let herself trust in others. This is just how she is, though Javen heavily disapproves, both as herself and as a trait from her element. Retreat, recover, retry.

Character History: Sephora was a good kid, did her lessons to the best of her ability, and didn't want for anything more than she had or that her parents could give her. At the age of seven is when she found Javen. Ceben had taken her out for a hunting trip to teach her how to use a bow. Benec had offered himself as a 'target' for the soft-tipped arrows. While shooting, Ora had abruptly felt a powerful urge come over her. Lowering her bow to the ground, she had darted into the foliage. What she was drawn to had come across her quickly. A huge dark brown jaguar. Having been taught of her heritage, she instantly knew that he was her Guardian. She had no hesitation, no fear, as she approached the gigantic cat and wrapped her arms around his neck. He had purred softly in a welcoming sort of way, and that had been it. Once the two of them returned to the clearing where her father was waiting, they all went back to the village, where her family had a small celebration for her finding her Guardian.
The rest of Sephora's life was rather uneventful. She learned more about her element and her Race. Her Guardian protected her when necessary. She finished her schooling a year early, though she could not leave because she was not yet thirteen. On the eve of her birthday, her father came to her with the Longbow. She was greatly pleased and honored to kind that he'd been working on it for several weeks, just for her. She went to sleep curled up with Javen in her bed, the Bow leaning against the wall of her room.
At the dawn of the next day, she was thirteen and could legally leave the village to be on her own. She did not relish the idea of going away like some of her friends did. Her home was Ca' teak, where her family was. Javen, being the slightly more excitable and adventure hungry half of Sephora, convinced her to leave for a week, see if she liked it, and if she didn't, they could come back. She agreed to the deal. After gathering her supplies and her weapon, she bade farewell to her family. She had only been gone for three days max, and hadn't even gone that far, perhaps a league or two, when she heard the explosion.
Javen carried her without hesitation back to Ca' teak, but by the time they arrived a day and a half later, it was much too late to save anyone. The village was a black smoldering mass.
Brokenhearted, she searched the remains of her home for anything she could use, and came across the Samurai sword. She took it into her possession and, finding nothing else, she and her Guardian left their destroyed home behind with the haunting thoughts of who would do such a thing.
Now sixteen, Sephora has grown mentally and physically. She was not insane and stupid enough to go after whatever had demolished Ca' teak. The village had not been small in any form of measure. To completely destroy it as it had been would take something bigger than she could fight, even with Javen's help. She goes around Alagaësia to various towns and villages, offering her services in exchange for whatever amount of coin they deemed her to be worth. She never asked for payment, though somehow she always received it.
In her traveling, rumors of a man named Lukia Ursl reached her, and of a great War that he was planning. Most anything else she heard on that topic was so astronomically unlikely that she simply stopped listening to such hyperbole. But she did believe the rumors of Lukia and the War. She wanted to help, though didn't know how. She travels still, searching for any other information that she could use.

Weapons:
- Straight Samurai Sword; She scrounged this from the remains of her village. She is not exceptionally skilled with it, but good enough to survive when the weakness comes over her. The blade is double edged and about as long as her forearm, perhaps a hands width longer. Its color is a deep, glinting silver that glitters and sparkles in the sun. The metal seems to glow at night when the soft moonlight pours over it. She has named it Ceben Benec in honor of her deceased father and his Guardian. Though it is kind of a mouthful, so she simply calls it CB if she is speaking about it.
- Longbow; A gift from her father when she turned thirteen, crafted by his own hands specifically for her. It is better suited to her, as she can use her element to control the arrow's flight, to a point. She rarely ever has it unstrung, unless the weapon is in dire need of attention. The bow itself she unsure of what wood it is made from, though doesn't question it too much. It is strong and sure with no signs of wearing out soon. She keeps it strung across her back from her right hip to her left shoulder, as well as a rather good sized hand-made quiver hanging at the opposite angle to give her more ability to grab another arrow as fast as she can.

Likes: The sky, Javen, open places.

Dislikes: Galbatorix, the Empire, dark and enclosed spaces.

Fear: Losing Javen. She fears losing him because he is what keeps her focused and sane.

Weakness: Enclosed areas. She feels trapped, unable to breath or move properly.

Animal Companions: Javen (Juh-ven) is a powerful dark black jaguar with darker rosettes covering his body, as well as kind white-gold-yellow eyes. He is three times the mass of other jaguars, to better protect his Allatik. Javen's element is, strangely, lightning. He is perplexed by this, as he's never heard of a Guardian with that element before. Javen rarely uses it, however; lightning is unpredictable at the best of times, and he is always afraid of accidentally hurting Sephora. He can charge his thick fur electrically, so that whoever touches him is jolted into a stupor. He doesn't have very good control over how much power goes into the shock; it mainly depends on his mood. It may just shock enough to stun or knock someone back. Or it could be powerful enough to kill. If he's angry, little arcs of lightning will crackle between his strands of his fur. If Sephora is in danger or in pain, its likely that small lightning bolts will arch from his coat toward whatever/whoever is causing the danger and/or harm.

Character's Physical Description: At 5' 5", Sephora is averagely sized for a woman, petite even. Everything about her bespeaks delicacy. Her long, thin legs; small feet; skinny torso; slender fingers/hands, and seemingly frail shoulders lead everyone into thinking that she is a defenseless child. She makes up for her lack of strength in flexibility and agility. Much like her element, she can bend and twist in amazing ways without batting an eye. On the underside of her right jaw there is a small, pale white fang shape encircled in a dark brown rosette; a birthmark, symbolizing that she is an Allatik and can go through with the Release.

Dreams for the Future: Find who destroyed her home and killed her father. Track down her mother. Find out more concerning Lukia Ursl and this 'War' that he's planning.

Reason for Dreams: She has no other reason to be alive in her opinion, other than keep Javen alive.

Alignment/side: She doesn't know yet, though she's leaning toward the Varden.
