Maybe Saphira and Thorn had a 'mind' conversation in the end of Eldest that we don't know about ? I mean, I don't remember Saphira saying anything to Eragon when Murtagh was giving his whole talk about him and Galby and them being brothers... You'd think she'd offer words of comfort maybe?

Yes, but I mean when Murtagh was giving his whole shpeal about Galby and joining Galby and being Eragon's brother and stuff. When the fighting was basically over, I mean.

I think they talked. It would've been weird if they didn't. Just because Saphira is always comforting Eragon when he's down and I found it odd that she was silent... Plus, I think since yet /another/ dragon does exist besides Glaedr, it would be kind of unnatural if Saphira and Thorn didn't talk at all...

Lol it's possible o.o;;;;; But we don't know much about Thorn, and something tells me we won't see much of him in Book 3 until the 'final showdown' or the 'final showdown before the final showdown' (before Galby). So maybe if in the next book, Saphira tells Eragon about a conversation they had, we'll have more of an idea of what kind of dragon Thorn is and more of an idea of why on earth Thorn hatched for Murtagh x.x

(btw, Annie, I reread the end of Eldest again and... I'm beginning to think that you're right about Murtagh... I hope not, but I think you're right.)

I've never seen Charmed... So yeah^^; I look at Murtagh as a 'Darth Vader" from Star wars. But I said that already and we don't need to go into that again ._. I just know that when I reread it, I lost a lot of my sympathy for Murtagh.

I think I just need to learn to ignore you, Chetowa. You totally didn't answer anything. How does Thorn being evil answer this? Honestly, Eragon talked to Durza and he was evil. Eragon talked to Murtagh in the end, and Murtagh is seemingly evil.

She probably was, as the most Saphira like thing she would have said to Eragon would be he's lying, or don't give in to the dark side or such. She probably was having a mind conversation with Thorn

she wasnt battling, she was only suspended in midair. and wat was thorn doing while murtagh was talking? nothing. so both dragons were doing nothing. so there is a posibility....

I meant before she was suspended in air. When they were still fighting and before Eragon knew that it was Murtagh he was fighting.

i think saphira and thorn had a conversation. i dont actually think thorn has choosen to be evil, i think he wants to be good but is being forsed by galbys magic to be evil, saphira may have been trying to help thorn break his bonds but murtagh finished wiv eragon before they could finish. i dno maybe these are jus thoughts

I agree. It seems odd that Saphira and Thorn wouldn't talk during that whole thing. I also think that Thorn didn't choose to join Galby, but has to because Murtagh is his rider.

that cant be... remember when eragon sweared fealty to nasuada? Saphira said that while he may be bonded to her she wasnt. and if there was trouble she would kidnap him. (not exact quote)

From the way she was yelling at the ther dragon whle there fighting i dnt think she may hav talked to him cause her mind may hav been closed to everyone like eragons was.

if he mind was open then there would not be much for a third book except gaby rolling over the varden and the elves in one fell swoop. beacue i believe that they where up in the air still and a fall form where they where battleing then would kill eragon in the proscess. because eragon was tired frome the battle.
