A Different Home
OOC: This is for people who know Kit very well. Draco, I'd like you to join; Fanghur, you too when you can, and that goes for you to Veonth.
IC: Kit was astride Shyara as they left Alagaësia, the land that had become his place of residence, but never home. That was why he had decided to make this trip. The sea shore was coming into view and the small town of Barret touching the flowing shore. The dark forest of Ecivres lay behind it stretching north, the crystal blue water of the North Sea was crashing against the green, mossy shoreline. He quickly glanced to the back of the town the lone house on the little rise, “Home,” he breathed.
Shyara let joy rumble through her as she neared the place she had spent much of her childhood. Her eyes focused in on the house, she looked for any signs of movement that might be Kit’s youngest sibling, Arora; the only other person to know of her existence when Kit was still living at home.
Shyra was riding on Ecivres, who was following Shyara, when she saw the familiar streets of Barret, a town she remembered well. It was there that she first met Kit, when she was pretending to be human and traveling with the traders. She remembered the nights he had snuck out past his strict father to come and meet her in the middle of the night.
Ecivres was eager to see the place his mate had grown up and where his rider made the first step that would lead her to his egg in Murtagh’s fortress.
None of them knew what that little visit would spark.

Re: A Different Home
OOC: Did they head west out to sea?
IC: Phalynx rose her head from her slumber, wondering what was occuring. She felt the sudden urge to head out to the northern sea, like something important was about to happen and she was needed. Without another thought, she jumped to her feet and was aloft in a single downstroke of her powerful wings. She was used to that feeling, and never, ever ignored it. It almost always led her to her friends, and to adventure.
She followed a trail that only her instincts knew, heading over the calm waters far, far below. At her current altitude, a couple tens of thousands of feet up, she could see the shoreline in the distance. It was unfamiliar, this far north.
In a few more hours, she had reached it, and was now surveying all that lay below her, wondering why her instincts had called her here. The reason soon became apparent. Far below, she could make out the heat signatures of two dragons. She dove a few thousand feet, stopped to hover, and could make out two smaller heat signatures with them. They were dragons with riders, young dragons.
Phal dove once more to get an even closer look, and she smiled when she recognized them. Her niece Shyara, her rider Kit, and their mates Ecivres and Shyra. Well, I didn't think I'd meet you guys way out here. What's going on? she said into their minds as she drifted lower. Since she was only a speck still in the sky, she made her scales glow so that they would know that it was definately her.
OOC: Edit: Oop, wait, I found it. The Northern Sea.

Re: A Different Home
OOC: No, they are north at the top edge of the North Sea, off the map.
IC: Shyara felt that familiar presence in her mind as her aunt spoke to her from high above. She stopped moving forward so that Phalynx could come straight down. We, she indicated Kit and herself, are on a visit to our birth homes, that small town up ahead. See that barn, by that house, on the back side? I hatched in there, behind a stack of hay, she said enthusiastically.
Shyra jumped in before Shyara could continue; Phalynx was still to far away to for Shyra to talk to her so she spoke into her mind. We are also going to visit his, well our, family. His parents, Delur and Alandry and his brother Pij and sister Arora. You'd like her, she has a knack for magic, she could've out do me when she three, she said happily.
You're welcome to join us if you like, just be subtle these guys didn't know I had a dragon, or 'eloped' with Shyra, so be cautious around my parents and brother.

Re: A Different Home
Phal laughed as she drew even with the group, pulling out of her dive. You hatched in a barn? How tame, she said with a grin, remembering her own hatching. She had emerged from her egg in the middle of the Hadarac Desert, completely alone, and had nearly been washed away by the storm of the century when it flooded the area.
She laughed again at Kit's comment. This should be interesting, then. I am eager to see how it plays out, what with all the new developments that your parents have yet to learn. Do they know how many battles you've been in? Phal teased, amused by the proceedings. Her cheerful mood was making her enjoy even the smallest of amusements.

Re: A Different Home
Kit laughed back at Phal's comment, "No, I doubt it, but my mother ought to take the news pretty easily, she pretty mellow about that stuff. My father, on the other hand, had quite the temper. Like one time several years ago, we went out to try and round up a wild herd of horses, I stayed out after everyone else went back home. I caught the lead stallion, but broke my leg in the process, I thought my dad was going to kill me, but thankfully my mother is a model mother, one that all others need to look to."
Shyara landed out behind the barn with a thud, the other dragons following suit. She froze suddenly and sniffed the air, Somethings not right, she said firmly.
Kit immediately quieted, and looked around his old home. Everything looked fine, but there was an uneasy feeling about the whole place, more like a tension that could be broken open by a slight breeze. The field grass looked completely over grown, there was no sign of any animal life, not even Knight or Nola.
Kit dismounted, "Wait here," he told them and ventured forward. He slipped up to the back of the barn and climbed through the window. The stalls were unused, the hay had begun to rot, and he could here rats scurrying around the dark floor. He cracked open the double doors at the front of the barn and peeked into the house. The house looked unkept and deteriorating quickly, but then he thought he saw movement in what was Arora's bedroom.
He began to step forward, but caught a glint of light flash across the door from something behind him. He pulled his sword just in time to block the blow that was meant to split his head in two.

Re: A Different Home
Phalynx's grin widened. I'm sure that your father was only concerned for your safety. Strict parents are better than parents who don't care at all, I suppose, she mused. She sniffed around near the barn as Kit went in to explore. She couldn't see anything out of the ordinary with her magical vision, only that there was almost no life within. She stuck her head in to take another sniff, needing to get closer. Phal had a very poor sense of smell for a dragon, almost as bad as a two-leg's.
She pulled her head out just in time to see Kit block a blow aimed towards his head. Phal hissed and flashed over, her wings raised and arched above her back threateningly.

Re: A Different Home
Kit parried another blow from his assailant, and rolled underneath Phalynx's chest. The man coming after started toward him again, but Phal's hiss halted him, and Kit took the opportunity and they a magic hold on him.
Shyara couldn't get through the solidly built barn, so she stuck her tail through the door and wrapped it around the man and dragged him out into the sunlight and pinned him to the ground. As soon as the sun hit his face, she said, Pij!
"Pij!" Kit jumped up and ran over. He dismantled the holding spell and looked into that face of his younger brother. It had become hard and mean, barely like it had been when Kit left three years ago. It was obvious that he was not recognized. Shyara, let him up.
Shyara removed her claws that had created a cage.
Pij picked himself up off the ground and turned toward that man that had trespassed onto his land, he would pay. His dragons didn't scare him, only threw in a few complications. He picked up his iron sword and rushed forward.
Kit had expected nothing less from his brother. He swung his sword to block the attack and his Rider's sword cut deep into Pij's simple metal one. While the blades were locked he said, "Stop this Pij, it is me, Kit, there's no need to fight!"
"Ha, my brother is a coward and would never come back here. Especially since he ran off with that **** Shyra, he no longer cares about us!"

Re: A Different Home
Phal stood protectively over her friend until Shyara's tail wrapped around the man and dragged him away. She walked over herself and watched as he attacked Kit once again. This is your brother? Quite the aggressive one, she remarked to Kit. She dearly hoped that Pij would realize that this was indeed Kit, and that neither she nor Shyara would have to pin him down again. What she, and most likely the others, had hoped would be a pleasant visit, was turning out quite different than she imagined. Phal folded her wings neatly along her back and waited for the fight to end.

Re: A Different Home
Kit pushed Pij's blade away. "STAND DOWN! I don't want to have to hurt you. I AM your brother, where's Arora, she tell you the truth?"
Pij paused at his sister's name, a word he hadn't heard in almost a year.
Shyara stepped in when Kit paused. Pij, that is Kit and he brought Shyra with him. She turned to the approaching Elf, hoping that maybe, just maybe, he'd recognize her.
Pij was startled when he heard a feminine voice in his head; he looked at the two dragons. The green and blue one looked to be the one talking. She turned her head after she spoke and he followed her gaze, so another dragon he hadn't noticed and there was girl coming toward him. She was the most beautiful being he had yet laid eyes on and his mind instantly shifted to the odd girl that had come with the traveling merchants almost four years ago. He looked back to the man that he had engaged and recognition hit him. Relief hit him like flood, then came grief and despair and all the emotions that had built up in the past eleven months.
Pij came toward Kit and Kit readied himself for another attack.
Pij dropped his sword one step from Kit and fell on him, tears flowing like a river from his eyes. He pulled Kit down to his knees and his legs gave out underneath him.

Re: A Different Home
Phal's muscles relaxed when recognition crossed Pij's face. Shyra and Ecivres soon approached them, and Shyra drew in closer. Phal was surprised again when Pij broke down into tears and fell miserably onto Kit.
Little one, what has happened? she couldn't help asking into the boy's mind. Concerned, she stepped forward. Something was very wrong here, and Pij's reaction to recognizing his brother was proof of that.

Re: A Different Home
Pij pulled himself together enough so that he could speak. "Arora's gone, mom's dead, and Delur hasn't been seen," he said through gasps.
Kit couldn't help but feel completely drained and numb after those nine words. Kit grabbed his brother's shoulders, "What happened!?"
At the news Shyra moved quickly to Kit's side to comfort him, through what could be a very horrible ordeal.
Pij leaned against the blue and green dragon's leg, with little regard for his safety and he doubted he had to worry about that now. "It all started right after you left, well shortly before, but you'll understand later. The arguing began badly, Delur criticized mom for everything she did. That went on for a long time. Then a year ago Mom found him and Misty together-"
Alandry's best friend Misty?
Pij nodded. "Then that night they were fighting in their room, and Arora's room is right above it, so she asked me to stay with her. Then she showed me a hole in the floor that she could see into their bedroom. I looked just as Delur stabbed her through the heart with her dagger." Pij shuddered, unable to continue for the moment as he relived that horrifying moment.

Re: A Different Home
Phalynx glanced between her friends, her eyes travelling from Pij to Kit and then to the others to see their reactions. Though she had no idea of most of the people Kit's brother was speaking of, she could see that his words were having a huge impact on her friends. And of course, she could tell that this was devastating news to them.
Her expression turned to one of deep sympathy and concern as the story continued. She wanted nothing more than to find a way to comfort Kit and Pij, but wasn't sure how to do that. So, Phal waited and listened, her mood having lost all traces of its previous cheerfullness.

Kit had been on his knees but now fell backward even, he was completely numb with pain, something he had developed to cover all the emotions that followed his lifestyle, but now, that barrier seemed to be breaking.
Shyra gasped as Pij uttered his last words, she had had a good relationship with Alandry, but not an extremely close one. She pulled Kit into her lap to offer him her support.
The dam broke that held him together and tears ran from his eyes. He grip Shyra with a steel grip, he need her now more then ever.
Shyara was crying also, more because of link she shared with Kit then actually hurt herself.
Ecivres nuzzled her, trying to comfort her.
"What happened to Arora?"
Pij dropped the words out, "She was hid in the forest during a raid on house, about four months ago, and I couldn't find her afterward."

Re: A Different Home
Phal's heart ached with sadness for her friends, especially for Kit. She was glad, though, that he had his own best friends around for comfort. At least he hadn't lost everyone; he still had Shyara, Shyra, and Ecivres around. And Phal would try to offer whatever comfort she could give, as well. She decided not to speak yet; her words would only be unwelcome at the moment. But she had already begun thinking. Arora, it seemed, was in need of finding. Phal would voice the suggestion herself if none of the others did, and she would most definately lend her support to any undertaken effort.

OOC: Alright then. Here I come!
IC:
Quicksilver trotted gently along the forest with his rider above. Whinnying and neighing happily as he went along at a smooth, luxurious pace, eating the soft undergrowth of the forest.
Eriel just smiled and stroked her horse's side, taking delight in every joyful movement that her horse made. Feeling her sword gently bounce at her hip comforted her in this otherwise unknown land. Her cloak covered her bodily features and a hood hid the top part of her head and her ears. The necklace that contained Emrhyst's Eldunari shone dully underneath her blue robe as Emrhyst hummed softly into the minds of her Indlvarn and Quicksilver.
Eriel's ears picked up clashing swords almost as quickly as Quicksilver caught the combatants' scents. Neighing and rearing on his hind legs, the stallion rushed in the direction of the beach as Eriel lengthened her sword's hilt, forming a spear.
Emerging from the forest just as the second bout of fighting ended, the elf looked at the scene before her and gave a shrill whistle, long and clear when she spotted Phal.

Re: A Different Home
OOC: Ima do this one with Anthor & Gornath, but I need to use Anthor as I created him. Hes over 100 years old, so kinda ignor his past behavior.
IC: Did you feel that, Gornath? Asked Anthor as he and Gornath flew North from the elven capital of Ellesmera.
That I did, I think Kit is nearby and is in some sort of trouble, I can just tell when something interesting is happening and Kit is usually there, as well as Phalynx. Said Gornath as he wheeled in the air and headed toward the sea to the west. The great white dragon flapped hs huge wings and increased their speed, untill they were naught but a blur to those on the ground. After about three hours of hard flight, Gornath said, I can see Shyara, Ecrives, and Phalynx ahead, but there is an unknown horseman or woman riding toward them. He landed with a large thud and let out a roar of greeting to his friends. He said, What is happening here, why did you have your sword out? Asked the dragon to the entire group.
"Yes, was there some sort of confrontation here?" Asked Anthor as he got off of Gornath's back. He greeted the rest of the group and said, "Hello, horsewoman, no need to stay back we mean no harm. Join our little group, an elf os always welcome." He said with a smile.
OOC: Hes a old rider, so he just know things, lolz.

OOC: Sorry guys, I had alot on my plate these last couple of days, but I'll try and stay up to date.
IC: Kit's mood was had turned sour, he was in no mood to meet anyone, even old friends. He stared at the new comers, with malice, hoping that they'll know to shut up and be quiet.
Shyra was aware of all the emotions Kit was dealing and aware that anger was emerging as the strongest. She put up her hand to halt any farther movement and motioned for them to sit down, this was going to be a long day.
OOC: That's all I'll put for now so that you guys can get settled in for a 'short' time

Re: A Different Home
Phal was still watching Kit with sympathy when she heard a long whistle from the trees. She noticed none other than Eriel riding towards them. Hello, Eriel. It's nice to see you, she greeted, a little relieved to have something to take her mind off of the sad proceedings. A quick glance to the sky revealed other newcomers as well. Anthor and Gornath landed quickly, and Anthor dismounted. Greetings, friends. The elf over there is Eriel, and she is a friend. There is no confrontation here, but Kit just recieved some very bad news about his family, Phal spoke to the pair, giving them the last sentence privately.

IC: Eriel let out a smile. "Atra esterni ono thelduin Phalanx skulblaka." She smiled, dismounting once she did so. Acknowledging the rider with a smiled and a nod she sat down beside Phalanx's left front leg, letting Quicksilver splash around in the sea. Nodding in understanding, the elf turned to Phalanx 'What happened here?' She asked.

Hmm, Phalynx can you tell me what type of news this is, I don't want to get into the middle of a big fight here, I am just now sufficiently recovered from that stupid hydra. Said Anthor with a slight grin. He walked over and sat in the back, next to Gornath, wondering what had happened and how he would deal with Kit's new "attitude".
Gornath walked down beside Anthor he looked at Ecrives and Shyara, knowing that they may tell him something and said, Is Kit ok, can you tell me what has happened here?

Re: A Different Home
Shyara shot a quick glance to Ecivres before she answered Gornath's question. She spoke into the new comers' minds so the explanation wouldn't have to be repeated. We came here for a visit our home. We soon found out that Kit's father, murdered his mother, and his sister was lost in Ecivres. She saw slight confusion appearing on the faces of those that knew them, Ecivres is the name of the dark forest behind us. Pij's brother here, was left to fend for himself and has been on edge ever since.
Kit suddenly rose to his feet, he had managed to repair most of his emotional dam, "Pij, which direction did you send her?"
Pij looked at his brother, completely new from the one he had a known; a more powerful person, who could destroy things at will, this was not his brother, but a different one.

Phal glanced towards Shyara as she explained things to the others, and bowed her head sadly, still feeling her friend's loss. She hated the thought of losing her own family members, one of which was with her here.
She looked at Kit expectantly when he seemed to take control once more, hoping he would come to a decision. From his question, he had made the decision Phal had hoped he would. Kit, I know what you're getting at, and I think we should find her too. That may bring some of your happiness back, my friend, she spoke softly. She began to peer around them with her infrared vision, as if she expected to see Kit's sister immediately. In reality, she was simply checking to see that their way was clear.

OOC: Righto. Short post.
IC: Eriel turned to look at Shyara and nodded solemnly. She knew what it was like to lose someone close to her. Without knowing, her hand had rested gently on the leather above her pendant. Looking up at Phal, the elf could only nod in agreement. "Well then, I don't know a lot of you too well yet so I suppose an introduction is in order." The elf grinned slightly. "Alright. I'm Eriel. I'm an elf, and seeing as Phal is obviously friendly towards all of you here, I'm a friend."

"Aye, and we will help ... if it is ok." said Anthor as he pulled out his bow and nocked an arrow. He began a slow, careful walk toward the forest, ready for any and everything that may come at him. He made sure his swords were next to him, and that his bow was still perfectly ballanced.
Gornath growled lowly when he heard what had happened and jumped into the air. He said, I will search from the skys, I am afraid that I will not be of much use down on the ground.

Re: A Different Home
"Nice to meet you Eriel," Kit said, "And yes, we'd appreciate your help.
Gornath, I would try that, this forest it better, or worse, then Du Weldenvarden; if you try flying over the trees, your muscles will lock up, for some unexplainable reason, and you will crash to the earth. I think you'd have to be able to fly into the upper sky, where Phal likes flying to go over it, but then I don't think even she could see anything. The only way to fly in this forest, it so stay below the trees, so, us four, you, me, Phal, and Ecivres, will be walking till we get toward the center of it, where the trees become several times bigger then the biggest in Du Weldenvarden. And remember, we are no longer in Alagaësia.
"Pij, do you still have Knight?"
"Yes."
"Mount up on him, you'll need him to keep up with us." Pij disappeared behind the house, then appeared again with a tall black stallion. His coat was silky midnight and reflected the sun like a mirror. As soon as he was ready, Kit took the lead of the group, knowing this area best, because this is where Shyara was found and had spent most of her younger months, hidden from the town folk. As he took the first step into the shadows of the trees, he felt the strange magic, or power, or whatever it was, filter through him.

Re: A Different Home
Phalynx thought she could probably be able to cut through the defensive magic of this forest, but decided not to say anything. Searching from the ground would be more interesting, and a relatively new experience for Phal. She had never liked the ground much, at least for more than a couple hours. If she was grounded for too long, Phal started to get somewhat nervous and over-cautious. That probably came from being so high up all the time, where the ground looked unreal.
Sure, Kit. It'll be interesting to search on the ground, for once, she said. She walked a little ways away from the main group and slid between the trees, a silvery shadow amidst the dark greens and browns. She loved the wild scent of the forest, filled with the rich smells of plants and animals.

The black stallion caught Eriel's eye. Slowly, she made her way to the horse and stroked his flank, cooing softly. Quicksilver, too, trotted and sniffed Knight, whinnying happily. The elf smiled. "That is a beautiful horse." She whispered to Pij then mounted Quicksilver. Spurring the white stallion into a brisk trot, Quicksilver quickly caught up to Knight. Neighing softly, Quicksilver nudged Knight. Eriel laughed. "Looks like Quicksilver has a new friend." She smiled at her mount and ran her fingers through his mane. Then, turning her attention to Pij, she asked, "So, where would you suggest we search first?"

Anthor walked up to the edge of the forest, his bow at the ready and said, "Since I have absolutely no clue as to where we are going, I will let you lead, Kit, Shyra, Ecrives, Shyara, and Pij. I think I will follow you from behind." laughed the old rider. He seemed at easte, but everything about the forest made him feel nervous and he was a tense at the bow string he was holding.
Gornath wheeled around and landed with a loud thud he said, Arrg, I hate walking. But, I will follow you. he dejectedly walked toward the forest. He was good enough for a short distance when walking, but hated walking any length of time at all. He had never had to walk a long way before and was not looking forward to it.

"Well,"Pij said, feeling unease at talking to this female elf, who was gorgeous on all accounts to him, "There are ruins about a mile in that we could check. When Arora first went missing I searched there, but it wouldn't hurt to double check them."
"Good thinking," Kit applauded his brother, the first time ever that he could remember. Kit could easily keep pace with the horse he had once owned. It had hurt him to give Knight up, but they both knew that Kit's life would not allow a horse, even one that built from stamina, strength, and understanding.
Ecivres grumbled as he went, he wanted to make sure that they knew he hated this place.
"Lighten up Ecivres, after all you were named after this place, maybe you'll get some super power after being here," Shyra teased.

Re: A Different Home
As Phal waited for the others to lead the way, she sniffed around the forest, looking at everything that caught her attention. One of the strangest things about this place was the magic. The magic swirled and contorted, sometimes blocking things from her view like a fog made of tiny mirrors. Phal narrowed her eyes and tried to examine some of the magic up close, but it swirled away as if it felt the drafts of her own magic. She tried to summon it towards her, but it seemed to always escape her grasp, like the tenrils of cloud she so often flew through. She heard bushes and twigs crackling a ways off, and glanced up to see her friends had begun the trek. She stayed to the side and distant from the group; an advantageous sentry point.

Eriel smiled sweetly at Pij. Inside however, she was troubled. No matter how far she extended her mind, something seemed to be blocking her. It was so strong, even Emrhyst couldn't break through. It was so elusive that even with her years of experience, it always escaped her grasp. It was so sinister, that it sent a chill halfway down her spine when she finally touched it. The elf let it go immediately, fearing any corrupting effect touching the... whatever it was would have. Eriel quickly turned to Phal then Anthor. They all seemed tense. The elf pulled out her bow and let her left arm hang loosely by her side. She didn't want to agitate Quicksilver yet. He was nervous too, and at the end of his tail there already shone blue fire.

Anthor continued to walk alongside, and slightly behind Gornath at the back of the group, to stop any sneak attacks. He extended his mind, but quickly retreated when he saw that the forest itself was magical and had a "mind" of its own.
Gornath growled both quietly and nervously as the trees, it seemed to close in around them. He said, We must get further in quickly, I cannot stand being here without flying much longer. I feel that I am surrounded and cannot move!

Re: A Different Home
Patience Gornath, don't you feel the danger we're walking. Suppose it wasn't just a feeling, suppose it turned out to be real, would you be willing to risk Anthor's life just so you could fly again?
Kit nodded in agreement with Shyara. "This place is very odd, a place where magic should exist. Phal, I'm sure you can see the dark and white magic here, coinciding, when they should be repelling each other and destroying this place? It isn't natural." He was quiet for a moment then continued, "My grandfather walked the length of this, the only person to this day to do so and stay alive. He told me stories about this forest, most of them I wrote off as not true, but since I found Shyara, they've been lurking, almost convincing them of their truth, but you guys don't want to hear about that do you?"

Phal nodded enthusiastically in reply to Kit. Oh, yes, I can. It's very strange, and I can't see through it! she exclaimed, finding the magic quite odd indeed. She frowned at Kit when he failed to elaborate on his grandfather's stories. I want to hear more about his stories! she said indignantly, and then shook her head. I sound like such a hatchling, she thought. Perhaps we could discern the truth from them. They could very well act as warnings of what we may face or discover, she added to her previous statement, trying to sound more mature. Usually Phal was very mature for her age, but her curiosity almost always got the better of her, and she would find herself exclaiming over the smallest of potential discoveries.

Re: A Different Home
The elf's head inclined backwards when Kit told them about the two forms of magic coinciding with each other. Emrhyst just snarled. What is this devilry? I cannot see, I cannot hear, I cannot even sense anything outside the forest. An arrow of water formed in Eriel's hand as the elf's keen ears picked up extremely faint footsteps. "They are here." She hissed. Frowning in concentration to locate the being, it was a good one minute before she found it. "Got you." She whispered, and let fly with the arrow. Wind splint like a tree before an axe as the arrow passed. Then, as quickly as she released the arrow, it disintegrated as it touched black magic, sending a shockwave hurtling outwards towards the party. "Get down!" The elf shouted and lifted a wall of earth before them to absorb the blast.

Anthor dove to the ground beside Gornath and loosed some arrows at the things he yelled, "Get down, dragons, get as low to the ground as you can, no need in providing a target any larger than you have to!"
Gornath looked at Shyara(I think) indignantly and said, I would feel safer with Anthor if we were in the air, there, I can better protect him.

"I'll tell you later Phal," Kit said from his spot on the ground.
Shyra was closest to Pij and jerked him off his horse and to the ground.
Shyara jumped over to block Knight from the blast. When she was laying as flat as she could, she still was taller then the horse.
The shock wave dissolved for the most part into the wall Eriel had erected. Kit jumped up, sword drawn and looked in the direction the Eriel shot but saw nothing. "What was it, I can't see anything over there?

Phal looked at Eriel, wondering why she was suddenly on alert. The dragon gazed out into the mirrorlike mist, and frowned when she saw something darker beyond. The mist acted like layers of rock mixed with mirrors; it blurred and distorted her sight to an annoying degree. She jerked a little to the side when Eriel's arrow flew past her and towards the thing, creating a large shockwave. Phal waited until the elf's wall absorbed the shock, not having to duck down because she had distanced herself from the group already. Curious to see what was there, Phal circled around the wall and crept through the trees, slinking just a little closer. Her advantage of sight was not effective in this forest. She glanced at Kit when he spoke. I understand, she said laughingly.

Eriel frowned and let whatever was left of the wall fall back to the ground. "My sight is being clouded by all these mist around us." The elf whispered. "It looked like this humanoid goat creature." Eriel sighed tiredly and looked at her burnt hand. Somehow the dark magic followed the path created by her arrow and hit her. Fearing that the remnants of the spell might still be in the wound, the elf could just tear off a strip of cloth from the hem of her robe to bandage the wound. "I've never seen anything like it."

Anthor continued to loose arrows at the beings who were moving amongst the trees, they were like smoke, they were there, but they weren't. He said, "Do you think these things are illusions?" as he continued to try to hit one of them.
Gornath growled loudly and loosed a large fire ball of "white fire" at the beings. He wtched with suprise as it bounced off of the trees instead of burning it and said, What kind of place is this, where fire does not affect trees?!

Pij spoke quickly, "Anthor, I suggest you stop that, unless you want to be dead. They didn't harm me when I was looking for Arora before, and they didn't harm Kit and his dragon when she was living in here."
"Well I guess it is time for part of my grandfather's adventures. He said that these being are like wraiths of damned, who died in this forest and their soul kind of merged with that of an animal. There are ones that resemble loins, goats, pigs, Urgals, birds, all sorts of wild animals. They simply protect it from damage by any means necessary, they could be the cause of the dark magic here, or maybe the light, I'm not sure. Anyway, they had to of done something against it for their souls to become trapped, and join the legions of other guardians. As long as we don't try and damage their forest, everything should be fine, according to what my grandfather had said anyway. If not, we're in deep ****, cause we can't do anything."
Kit continued after a few minutes, "But these are the nice guardians if my grandfather turns out to again be correct. He spoke of living landmasses that appeared as larger boulders and hills, even trees. Those ones, he said, were just out to kill anything and everything that's not supposed to be in here, which includes us. And I really hope that he proves to be wrong, cause we and Shyara never went vary far into where the trees open up enough for flying."

Phal had been busy walking as close as she dared to the creatures on the side, examining them and how they reacted to the others' attacks. She had discovered for herself several pieces of evidence that confirmed some of what Kit's grandfather had said. She glanced back at him when he finished his explanation on these more benevolent ones. Or, supposedly benevolent. Don't worry, guys. If they do turn out to want to attack us, my starfire will work against them. It works against spectral creatures as well as dark creatures and normal ones. I will believe Kit's grandfather for now, though, she said with a laugh. Her thoughts turned more concerned when he spoke of more dangerous creatures. Hm. Trying to disguise themselves, eh? Well, don't fear. Nothing can surprise me, as long as I can see it through this blasted mist, she said, fluttering her wings in annoyance.

Eriel smiled wryly. "So then, I suppose we have three choices now." She paused. "We can go on in the dark. I can, and I'm sure Phal can as well, but I'm not too sure about you guys. Or, we could make camp and wait the night out. And thirdly, we could do a mixture of both and send out a scouting party." She grinned. "I'm obviously up for the second choice but a group decision would be the wiser thing to do."

"You would be suprised at the abilities of some of us." said Anthor to the elf. He patted Gornath gently on the leg and covered his eyes slightly as the white dragon began to shine with a very bright whit elight for a few seconds, then allowed the light to fade. "But, I do like your idea to set up camp, I agree, also, I am tired." laughed the old rider.
Gornath laughed slightly when Anthor patted his leg and he began to glow, but he groaned impatiently like a hatchling when he heard that Anthor wanted to set up camp. He said, What part of I want to fly don't you get?!

Kit couldn't help but laugh at Gornath's last words and tone. "Haven't you ever heard the phrase, 'A tired warrior is soon a dead one'? That has alot of truth to it and I don't want to end up dead."
Kit picked up a few pieces of dry wood of the ground and threw them into a pile. "Brisi-" He stopped midword as the 'wraiths' started moving in on them and making low screaming sounds like a banshee. "Well, I guess we aren't having a fire tonight." Kit did however call forth a ball of light so they could see when it suddenly got dark.
Shyara curled up in a semi-circle and let Kit and Shyra lean against her, while Ecivres curled up by her head.

Phal grinned at Gornath. She, too, felt like continueing. Phal was a rather energetic dragon, but perhaps it had to do with the fact that she was quite young. She glanced at Kit when he was reprimanded by their forest friends. Phal laughed, and stepped over to the camp. No worries about heat. I can emit infrared light for you all tonight, and though you won't see it, you'll feel it. It's heat, she offered.
Phal found a nice area, partly secluded from the group, in between a few large trees. A large fallen log separated her from the others, though she was on a slight rise and could see them all clearly. Infrared light was coming off her in comfortable amounts, and she made sure to emit enough to reach and warm her friends. Phal curled up amongst the leaves.

Eriel cooed softly and stroked Quicksilver's nose in a secluded corner of their campsite. The stallion whinnied then lay on the ground. The elf smiled and sat beside her horse, stroking his flanks as he fell asleep. Eriel almost smiled at them. "They're so tired they didn't even decide who would keep watch." She mused to herself and deftly swung up a tree. Resting on the canopy, she plucked a leaf and twirled its stalked between her fingers as she lay on her back and watched the moon and stars go by. "Such a beautiful night..." The elf whispered to no one in particular. Emrhyst stirred within her Eldunari. You won't see a sight like this back in Alagaesia. The north star lies to the south. Eriel smiled. "We're going to have trouble navigating at night." The elf yawned and slowly drifted off into a waking dream of dragons and horses.

Anthor went and lay down next to the large white dragon and just before he fell into a deep slumber said, "Tomorrow ... I promise you will fly." and began to snore gently and quietly as darkness covered the land.
Gornath snorted angrily and curled up around hsi rider and fell into a deep sleep, dreaming about flythin through the clouds.

Re: A Different Home
Kit awoke the next morning from his dream like sleep and stood. He suddenly gasped in surprise; a ring of the 'wraiths' encircled the entire camp, just inside a solid wall of trees. Kit looked around there was no light coming in through the trees and up above him was a solid layer branches, blocking all light from the sun out; the only light in the circle was the ball of light that Kit had conjured up the night before. Why didn't Eriel's eldunari sense the magic that was used to put these trees up, aren't they able to sense magic? Kit thought. Hey everyone, wake up, but be slow about it, no quick movements.
As soon as everyone was awake, a wraith stepped forward and started screeching, as if trying to tell them something. We have no idea what you are saying, Kit replied in his most diplomatic voice. Just then Shyra stood up in a jerking motion, her features completely blank. The head 'wraith' began 'speaking' again.
"We will talk through her," Shyra's voice said tonelessly. "You must get out immediately, or we shall kill you all." "All we're doing is looking for my sister, and besides that, you have us blocked in."
"You're sister matters not, you must leave."
"My sister matter a great deal, and we will continue to look for her. You will find that we are capable of getting past you and those trees."
Shyara arched her back and growled low, so show that they meant what was Kit was saying.
The wraith laughed through Shyra, "You wouldn't stand a chance."
The wraith reached back and touched the a tree. A giant shiver ran down trunk of the tree. The bottom half of the trunk split in two and two branches pulled down from the ceiling. A voice reverberated from the tree, "None of you will make it out of here alive if you try."

Phalynx awoke early, earlier than usual. Her scales were bristling when she opened her eyes, giving her a glittery, twinkling appearance. Phal rose her head in one smooth motion, her eyes narrowing. A band of the forest wraiths were assembling in a circle around the group. Phal gazed warily around the circle, though she was curious as well. What purpose did they have here. Kit awoke a few moments later and began alerting the rest. All the while, Phal stayed perfectly silent, watchful and cautious.
The silvery dragoness narrowed her eyes further into a distinctive frown when the wraiths spoke through Shyra, warning them out of their domain. Try and stop us, creatures. Nothing you can say or do will convince us to abandon someone in need. I, at least, will not heed your petty threats, she said calmly when the creatures finished with their warnings.

Re: A Different Home
Eriel dream was quickly marred by horrifying images as she felt a hostile presence closing in on them. She felt them coming closer, their white spectral shapes looked like wisps of mist from where she was, high in the trees. She lay still, so still that insects would have crawled all over her had she not incapacitated them with magic. Preparing to cast a spell, Emrhyst barged into her mind and blocked the spell from being casted. Remember the incident with the arrow? The dragon warned. Eriel frowned. "How could I not." She muttered and shifted into a crouching position to get a good look at the camp site. She was now behind 'enemy lines' and outside of the circle of white. Signaling to Phal to keep the wraiths distracted, the elf moved like the wind across the canopy and descended about a hundred meters from the ring. The morning dew that kissed the grass burned before her fiery tempest as the elf ran towards her friends, bow notched and ready to fire.

Re: A Different Home
Anthor woke to a great suprise. There were forest wraiths all around both himself, Gornath, Kit, Shyara, Shyra, Ecrives, and Pij. He drew his twin swords and said in a dangerously calm voice, "Leave us be, we have done nothing to the forest, nor you. If you will leave us be, no-one will be harmed and we will go on about our business and leave your forest alone."
Gornath stood over his rider, rising to his full height and already angry because he had not yet flown. He glared menacingly at the wraiths, white fire curling about his teeth and out of his nostrils and said, Let me, my friends, and my rider alone and I will not burn this god-forsaken forest to the ground!

Re: A Different Home
The wraith did not seem at all worried about the threats being made toward them, he simple flicked his wrist. "So be it," he spoke through Shyra again.
Suddenly the ground fell away from under each person in the company; the hole that opened up was barely large enough for each person, so none of the dragons would be able to open their wings before they were underground and just unable to.
Kit slammed hard into the floor under him, Kit's instincts told him to jump up and do something, but for that moment he hurt to much. He just opened his eyes and looked around; he could see the holes where everyone else had been and two more that were farther away, he assumed them to be Eriel and her steed. I hope they don't break a leg, he though, thinking of Pij's and Eriel's horses.
Kit jerked himself up, he had forgotten about his brother thus far; as he did the hole above sealed shut, casting them into complete darkness. Kit tried to call a ball of light forward again as he done the night before, but he felt an odd draining sensation, as if that little knob of magic in his mind was deflating, till he could feel it any longer. He tried a few more spells but none would work, he just felt empty.
After his eyes had adjusted to the darkness better, he could then see that there was an odd shimmering in the air, as if little particles of metal were in it and light had been reflecting from them, but there was no light except for what came off them.
Kit called for Shyara with his mind, but couldn't find her, the magic that linked them, and every other Rider to his Dragon, just was not there." All magic had ceased to exist in those shimmering lights. He called aloud then, "Hello, can anyone hear me? This is Kit, I'm... I'm somewhere, is anyone else here with me?"

OOC: Hmph. Do you want a boring rp, voenth? This sounds like an interesting plot development to me. (Though it won't really affect Phal, seeing as she has no rider...) lol
IC: Phalynx growled in defiance at the wraiths, raising her wings further and preparing to send small missiles of starfire at them. They would be harmed by her flames. Before she could let loose an attack, the ground opened beneath everyone in their party.
Phal plunged below the surface, panicking to close her outstretched wings but not getting the left one closed in time. The wing wrenched itself as the tip caught on the edge of the hole, and her wing twisted bottom-up. The awkward fall allowed Phal to get a firm grip with her claws on the earthen walls of the hole, but she was howling in pain as the muscles and tendons of her wing overstretched. Phal clenched her eyes shut and continued roaring, unable to get her wing free of the dirt and shut it, and knowing it would be extremely painful to do so.
Phal breathed heavily, her screeches turning into small whimpers of pain and her eyes inching open. The hole was dark, but she could still see. Tiny bits that looked like crystallized fragments of the magical mist outside emanated some sort of light, and Phal could emit enough light to see. She gazed at her wing, wincing again as she saw how much she had wrenched it. One wrong move and she could pop bones out of their sockets or rip membrane. Phal began to look for magic to heal herself with, but the only magic in the hole was that of the small fragments in the air, and she could not capture them. They eluded the grasp of her mind, and Phal realized that her mind's grasp was very weak. No... How will I get out? she wondered anxiously. She could not pull in her wing in this state without further damaging it, and the ceiling was too closed up to dig out. She was stuck.

Re: A Different Home
Eriel dashed forward and fired an arrow at the wraiths. Just then, the ground below her literally opened up. It didn't even give way. It opened. The elf, falling quickly, turned herself around and landed in a crouch, bruising her left knee. She looked around and found Quicksilver nearby whose knees had been saved only by the magic permeating his body. Eriel groaned. She felt somewhat sore but made all haste to her horse, who neighed happily, nuzzling his rider. The elf smiled and gently caressed his face, then, at some invisible signal, Quicksilver knelt just as Eriel was about to climb on. She reached into the magic within her but felt it slipping everything she tried to hold onto it. "Weird..." The elf muttered under her breathe and gave up then turned her attention to her surroundings. She could see humanoid figures around and something like a hook above. Eriel focused her eyes, merging with Emrhyst to take advantage of her eyes. It took more effort than usual. This is amusing... Emrhyst snorted. 'Easy for you to say. You're dead.' Eriel replied and, from the faint light given off by the specks of magic that she had just noticed, saw a glint of silver from the hook. Then turning away, she withdrew into herself and came before the door in her mind. It had pulsed green instead of red ever since Emrhyst purged Alcioraell. Smiling, the elf placed her palm on the door to open it, but it didn't budge. It started to dissipate, and with it, any chance of she and Emrhyst merging in the darkness. 'I feel like I've been drugged.' The elf groaned in annoyance then spurred her stallion onward in the direction of Phalanx's roars.

He turned over, on horror to see that his legs had been badly twisted and that he would at least for a time be unable to walk. He said to Gornath, I am hurt. but began to panic when he connection to his best friend was severed. He shivvered with nervousness, then said to Kit, Shyara, Eril, and Pij, "I- I don't think I will be able to walk, and my connection with Gornath has been severed. D- Did they do this to us?!" pointing at the wraiths above.
Gornath began to fall into the pit, his suprosed roars drowned otu by the screeching of the wraiths as they saw that they had captured the intruders. He landed in the cave, only to be unable to talk to his rider. He roared angrily, sad to not be able tro communicate with Anthor.

Re: A Different Home
Shyara heard Kit calling from a short distance away and tried to answer, but couldn't. She let loose a loud roar, and jumped at Shyra voice.
"Not so loud, you'll blow my head apart, Shyara." Shyra recognized the roar from Kit's dragon. "Come on, let's go toward Kit's voice, and figure something out." As she walked her foot suddenly hit something.
Pij groaned when someone kicked him.
"Pij?" Shyra bent down and felt along the leg she had hit. The clothes got moist as she got closer to his thigh, till her hand touched bone, that was sticking out. She gasped.
Pij asked groggily, "What is it?" He could feel his leg, the only way he knew someone kicked him was the jolt it sent up his back.
"Nothing good. I'm gunna put you on Shyara's back for now." She carefully lifted him and put him on her back, suddenly she felt something touch her and jumped. It didn't attack her so she reached out and touched it, it was a horse, Obviously Knight, she concluded, Since Eriel's horse is with her.
Ecivres could hear talking and moving a short distance away and moved toward the sound.
Kit heard Anthor, but couldn't find him. "Keep talking Anthor, so I can find you."

OOC: Ah, I see.
IC: Phal closed her eyes, clinging to the wall and staying perfectly still so as to not aggravate her wing injury further. I can't move. I can't move. I can't talk to the others, she thought anxiously, having already tried to call out. She wasn't ready to ask for help, yet, though. If the others were injured, she had to get to them!
Phal's legs quivered as they struggled to keep her frame from moving, holding on to a vertical, slippery dirt wall. It took all her effort to stay like that, but she knew she couldn't do it much longer. I can't hold on, she thought, her eyes desperate. Suddenly, some of the dirt began to slide under her claws, and a brief moment of intense panic seized her just before she slipped several feet down. Phal roared in agony as her wing wrenched itself even further, and she heard an awful sound coming from her shoulder. The wing was about to pop out of its socket. No no no no no, she muttered rapidly, then panicked again as dirt fell away. Her legs tensed even further, gripping the wall for dear life.

Re: A Different Home
Eriel's look of relief at finding Phalanx gave way to utter shock as she fell, almost wrenching her wing loose. Phalanx! Emrhyst roared from her Eldunari and materialized as a ghostly apparition. She growled low and rode on non-existent currents towards her in-law, bracing herself against her weight and keeping her up. Relax Phalanx. Emrhyst cooed softly in her mind, trying to keep to a minimum the strain in her voice. The elf watched on as her dragon supported Phalanx and then, searching herself, caught hold of a knob so deep within her that anyone else born without her natural talent and decades of training would not have been able to find it. She grabbed it tightly, refusing to let it go, and raised her hand, emitting a wave of magic towards the cave, forcing it to widen. Normally, it wouldn't have been so taxing, but due to the inherent nature of the area they were in and the compactness of the cave walls, the energy used was more than five times the norm. Eriel collapsed on Quicksilver's neck, panting, as Emrhyst quickly brought Phalanx down. She looks bad Eriel. Emrhyst muttered as she dissipated. Eriel? The elf weakly waved a hand. 'I know, but we all need to rest. I'm tired, and I don't know if I can reach the magic again.' She said, letting go of the magic as she did so. Quickly neighed softly and trotted over to the downed dragon, nuzzling her nose.

Anthor continued to talk, his legs burning with pain as he said, "Ok, Kit. I am over here, la la la! Please hurry, this is very painful... Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii." said the old rider to anyone who was listening as he attempted to get Kit to him through talking.
Gornath, blinded by rage began to tear at the cave walls, brteakign them apart one by one. He bit, clawed, and burned until there was a large hole in the wall, but just as it looked like he could get out, the wall filled itself in. He looked up when he heard the laughing of the wraiths and cursed them.

OOC: Kit is looking for Anthor, not Shyra looking for Veonth. Also it is almost completely pitch black. We're in like a bubble in the dirt, shouldn't be able to see the wraiths.
IC: Kit walked toward Anthor's voice till he stepped on a hand. "Oh, sorry, sorry." Kit picked Anthor up, "It s/ucks having a broken leg, I've had a few, luckily my sister healed it, that was before I had magic. Where's Gornath by the way?"
Ecivres flew over to help Emrhyst bring Phalynx down safely, he could alittle from the slight glow she was emitting. When she was on the ground, Ecvires crawled under her wind and let it rest on his back so it wouldn't drag on the ground. I think the others are this way.

Re: A Different Home
Phalynx breathed a deep sigh of relief as Emhryst materialized and detached her wing from the wall, helping her down. Ecivres was waiting, and rested her injured limb on his back. Phal winced as it was moved. Thank you, she said, her voice full of relief and gratitude. She examined her wing, flinching as she saw how stretched and injured it was. She wouldn't be flying until she had healed it. And if she couldn't fly, how could she get out of this hole?
Phal's head snapped around as she surveyed the rest of the cave. We have to get to the others. I can't tell from this distance, but I think some of them are hurt, she said anxiously, turning her body slowly.

Re: A Different Home
Emrhyst purred softly from her Eldunari. We're practically sisters. There's no need to thank me. She smiled. Eriel kept her head on her stallion's neck, contemplating the consequences of Emrhyst's actions just now. Thanks to that, everyone around her knew she was Indlvarn now. 'Oh well. I suppose it doesn't really matter.' Eriel thought to herself.
She looked at the pendant and grinned. She was strangely fortunate. The magic in the cave tried to prevent them from using magic and communicating with one's dragon telepathically as well. Obviously, the elf managed to use magic just a minute ago, so she figured it didn't stop the magic from flowing, just slowed it down and made it more 'slippery'. The fact that Emrhyst was in an eldunari made it impossible for whatever magic in the cave to sever their connection completely. She could no longer meld their minds together, but she could still talk with her by reaching into the Eldunari.
Eriel finally turned her attention to Phalanx's wing. She winced. Dismounting quickly, the elf knelt beside the downed dragon and very gently brushed her fingers over the entire wing structure. She quickly found a slight fracture in the middle of the main bone. "As well a semi-dislocated wing, badly, but not overstretched tendons, and a small little tear in the membrane over here." She pointed to a rather small hole in the wing. The elf sighed and unbuckled her sword, placing it under the fracture and using some cloth from her cloak to bandage it up.
Turning to Phalanx, she said, "I don't intend to use magic to heal you. Just that tiny act of widening the ceiling a little took so much out of me. I shudder to think how much energy healing will need." She paused. "So, if you don't mind, I'll disable the nerves around your wing joint." And I'll push it back into it's socket. Emrhyst grinned. Materializing again.

"Im not sure." said Anthor as he winced with every step that Kit took. He whished fervently that his legs would be ok. He looked about for the white dragon, but was unable to see him.
Gornath sunk to the ground, both exhausted and sad beyond words. He looked about, but could see nothing. He called throughout the cave, Anthor, anyone! Where are you!

Shyara heard Gornath's call but just barely. We're over here, she yelled to him, Just follow the sound of my voice. Shyara kept talking loudly in order to give him a direction.
Shyra lead the group farther, till she could a faint glow in the distance. She then yelled out, "Hey, can anyone hear us?"
Kit heard Shyra's call. "Yeah, I can. Can you see the light? Come towards that," Kit yelled back as he too approached and came into the faint glow. "Hey, Shyra, who do you have with you?"
"I have Knight, Pij, and Shyara!"
"Good, that is everyone except Gornath. Ew, Phal, you look bad. We need to find Gornath and get outta hear so we can heal you guys, this crystal things are taking away my magic."

Phal shook her head. No, I need to be able to feel what's going on, as well as see it. And it's not completely out of its socket, luckily, she replied to Eriel and Emrhyst. She noticed more of her friends coming to join them. Oh, I'm glad you're here. I was worried about all of you! At least you're still relatively safe, she said with relief as her friends reached them. She laughed at Kit's usage of "ew" to describe her state. She would probably react the same if she saw her wing from a distance. In fact, she was reacting that way now, and wanted nothing more than to dig her way out and heal herself. She turned her gaze towards Gornath, who she could see a distance away from the others. I'll glow brighter, Gornath! Just follow it, and we'll all find our way out and get healed! she cried towards him, brightening the starlight of her scales enough to make it obvious where they were.

Eriel just nodded and stood up again. Smelling blood, she turned towards Anthor and looked at his legs. She cringed. "Ehh... That doesn't look too good." The elf frowned and drew her dagger. Then, once again drawing cloth from her cloak, placed her dagger on the broken leg and wrapped it tightly. The elf sighed, imagining the state of her cloak now made her want to laugh and cry.

Anthor looked at Eril and said, "Thanks, I wil be sure to repay the favor, if we ever get otu of here. So, anyone have any ideas as to how we will do that?" asked the rider as he grunted with pain as the cloth was tightened, as well as when he was sat on the cold stone floor.
Gornath turned toward the light and ran as fast as he could toward Phalynx. He said, Thanks, I didn't knwo what was happening there for a minute. Also, remind me to after we escale this to burn this god-forsaken forest to the ground.

Re: A Different Home
Levina ran through the trees of Ecirves. Winter was soon upon them and the snows were to soon come. The thought of the cold, brisk winter air excited her. Her long legs, made Evi run faster then the average horse. She weaved in and out of the trees, but screeched to halt at the sight of a hole. What the hell? She thought looking down into the pitch black hole, it seemed to go forever, even with her amazing eye sight she couldn't see where it stopped. Those damn wraiths and their holes! If they keep this up, every creature in Ecivres is going to fall down them and die! Is that what you want wraiths?! To kill every creature here!? Levian yelled at to nobody. She pit down the hole and walked around it. Man, I remember when I fell down that hole. I was running through the forest minding my own business, then BAM!! I'm in a dark hole with a nearly broken foot! I wonder who fell down the hole this time?Levina thought, chuckling to herself. She stopped dead in her tracks, and looked back at the hole. Her eyes widened and ears perked up in shock, at the voice she heard coming from the hole. No ... there's no way, She thought. She slowly walked backto the hole and leaned her head in, listening to the voices.
"I have Knight, Pij, and Shraya!"
"Good thats everyone except Gornath. Ew, Phal, you look bad. We need to find Gornath and get outta here so we can heal you guys, these crystal things are taking away my magic."
Evi staggered back, in utter disbelief at the voices. S-Shraya, Pij, Shrya, and .... and Kit? Well, I, have to get them out of there! But, how? Levina thought for a moment, trying to remember how she got out. The cave! There was a cave nearby with a tunnel that lead from that hole back to the surface. She ran to the cave as fast as she could and ran down the tunnel. It was pretty long and narrow, a dragon like Shraya would have to make it bigger for her to get through, but then the risk of a cave in could happen. A human could just haunch over and get through. She stopped at the opening of the tunnel which lead into the hole. Four?! Levina thought seeing all the dragons. The she saw Kit, four, she thought, referring to how many years it had been since she'd last seen him. Burn the forest? Evi thought hearing the large white dragon. Um, I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see this forest is my ... home, as odd as it is. So I'd appreciate it if you didn't destroy it. How bad are the injuries? I know a way out, Levina said out loud.
p.s she's always in her natural form unless I say so =P

Kit about jumped when he heard a voice inside his head that he did, but didn't recognize. Years of having others speak to him this way told him that it came from behind him. He tried to remember who that voice belonged to.
Kit turned around as the voice continued. "Who's there?" he asked, but as words left his mouth realization struck. "Evi?!"
"Who the hell is Evi?" Pij asked from Shyara's back.
"Evi? That werecat that lived with you when we first met?"
Shyara answered for Kit, Yep, that's her. Which direction to get out Evi? Shyara asked as if her and werecat had never lost contact.

Re: A Different Home
Phal's head jerked up and angled to face the direction of the voice. A gold glow emanated from the stripe in her right eye as she examined the newcomer with her sight, for the pain distracted her from keeping her eyes normal. The girl was short, and a familiar magic was around her. What is she? Oh, wait, she's a werecat, Phal realized. She glanced towards Kit, Shyra, and Shyara when they spoke of this werecat as if she was familiar.
As soon as Phal noticed the girl, Evi Kit had called her, she had also noticed the tunnel behind her. A tunnel that led neatly to the surface. Phal could probably just fit up the passage, but Shyara would have a slightly harder time, and Gornath would find it near impossible. Evi, is it? I'm not sure we can get out... not without widening the tunnel dramatically, Phal called to the werecat girl with concern. She could not fold her wing, and the limb's excessive size meant that she would need quite a bit of room.

The elf turned in the direction of the voice. She stared, trying to make out what the creature was then relaxed as she realized the girl was friendly. "Please to meet you Evi." Eriel grinned and turned her attention to the tunnel, a frown quickly passing over her features. She wouldn't risk using so much magic again here. "Well, we're gonna need to get up there somehow..." Turning to Phalanx, the elf said, "Phalanx, if you're gonna get up there, we're going to have to disable your nerves at the joint. Emrhyst will then push it back it and I'll take care of the... debris. I'll obviously give your sense of touch back once we're done." Eriel then placed a hand above the wing joint, a pale glow emanating from her hand. Emrhyst materialized slowly, nudging Phalanx's nose with her ethereal one.

Anthor looked up to see an odd looking creature comign toward them, a were-cat. He smiled widely when he saw that mroe help was coming. He waves and said, "Hey, can you help us out of here?"
Gornath walked back to the rest of the group, wide eyed when he saw what Anthor looked like. The only thing that made him feel slightly beter, was the fact that The connection also stopped Gornath from feeling th pain Anthor was in.

Re: A Different Home
Thanks for remembering me Pij, Levina thought slightly annoyed. Well, to be fair, he never did learn my name, or even what I was.Evi relaxed a bit when Shraya spoke to her, the years apart had done nothing to their relationship. She looked over at the silver one, Actually my name is Levina. Ever since the day we met, Kit's been calling me Evi.I've only heard him call me Levina like once, Evi chuckled. She go out the tunnel and walked under everyone, looking at the wounded and the size of all the dragons. Hmm, Humans go first, then horses, then the smallest to largest of you dragons.
Levina looked over at the other two that greeted her, she smiled and gave a small head nod to the female elf. But the other one, he was weird. She tilted her head at him and stared at him for a moment. Not only was his behavior odd, but so was his question. Will I help you? I said I would didn't I? Levina said to him. Well, he seems to be injured, so maybe the pain he's in is numbing his mind. Or maybe he's just weird, Evi thought. She walked over to Kit and grabbed into his pants with her mouth and pulled him towards the tunnel. Here's the tunnel, it's a quarter mile long, so it shouldn't be too bad. You guys go first and I'll go last. If something happens to the tunnel while the dragons get out, I'll find another way.

Re: A Different Home
OOC: Sorry my weekend started Wednesday last week, so this is pretty much the first time I've had to post since then.
IC: "Okay, Okay," Kit said down to Evi. He followed her, with Anthor in his arms to small tunnel that led to the surface. He had to duck down to get through, but was glad when he was back on the surface. he took Anthor over to near tree and set him down. "I'll heal you as soon as we get everybody out, that way I can help."
Shyra took Pij back in her arms and took Knight's reins and led him to the tunnel. "Knight, I need you to crawl for me, can you do that?"
"Down," Pij commanded and the horse crouched down as low as he could; Pij was glad that Kit had taken so much time and care in training Knight.
Shyra then led the horse to the surface and left him by Anthor and then set Pij down next to him.
Hey Evi, can is there a way for us dragons to just go straight up?
Kit called down to Shyara, before Evi answered, "The ground held all you dragons up when we were over the hole, it probably has some sort of magical compound, so I don't think you'll get out that way."

Re: A Different Home
Phal grimaced at Eriel's words. I still don't like that, but I suppose it will have to be done in order to get out, she replied, staring forlornly at her wing. She hated seeing it, and feeling it, in such condition, and would breathe a massive sigh of relief when she had it healed. She didn't feel safe with a useless wing. Phal looked forward at the tunnel.
Is there any way to dig out the tunnel quickly and hold it up with magic while we get through? We can obviously supply energy for the magic, and if the tunnel is unstable, it may need to be held up, she called. Phal thought if the tunnel was widened just a little more, she could just slither through it. Her body was very slim and small, though. The others, especially the large Gornath, would have trouble.

Eriel nodded solemnly. "Don't worry. This won't hurt a bit..." She muttered and severed the electricity flowing in Phal's wing nerves. Emrhyst placed a claw on the joint and pushed it back into its socket. The dull thud that was amplified by the cavernous hall made Eriel cringe. Trying to smile, the elf reached into the Eldunari and drew upon Emrhyst's energy, piecing the fragments of bone and tissue back together. The unnatural effort required left Eriel sweating profusely. Emrhyst, ethereal as she was, was heaving as well before she withdrew into her Eldunari. Eriel cut off the connection to her magic, allowing the electricity to flow again. Before she did however, she whispered to Phalanx. "Bear with the pain for awhile. It should be over in a second or two." The elf stopped her ears as Phalanx let out an involuntary roar.

Anthor gave a sigh of reilef when he was sat outside. He looked about, the dragone, of course were still in the cave, but Pij, the were-cat, Kit, Shyra, as well as Eril were all out, even the horse. He grinned, giddy from the great pain and said, "Woah! Glad to be out o ther aint we!?"
Gornath rolled his eyes, Anthor was somewat crazy when he was in a great deal of pain, but then again, weren't we all? He moved toward the exit, but said, There is no way I will be getting out of here through that, unless someone or something does something.

Levina pushed the elf girl legs with her head, leading her to the tunnel. Go,get out! She said to her. Now that all the humans and elves were out it was the dragons turn to go. Levina looked at the sizes of all the dragons, for the white one it would seem impossible to get through the tunnel. The silver one could probably do it. And of the tuneel was only slightly bigger then Shraya would also be able to.She listened to what Kit and the silver dragon said, she didn't that much about magic though. The silver dragon's idea might work. But I'm not sure, might as well try, Levina said.

"I suppose that'll work, but let me try and make it wider with magic first, that way, it'll be stabler." Kit used several spells to open the tunnel up, but had to stop half way as his magic would go any farther. "Okay, you dragons will have to claw your way half way up the tunnel, I can't get any farther."

Phal smiled as Eriel and Emrhyst were finally able to heal her wing, but raored when they let the nerves reconnect, surprised by the sudden pain. She closed her eyes for a second and took in a deep breath, and then examined the wing for herself. It wasn't completely healed, but she could finish easily when she was out of the cave. For now, she could tuck her wing up to her side again. The motion made her relax as she felt more in control.
Phal went back to listening the conversation again. My name is Phalynx, Levina, for future reference, she added with a smile. She watched as Kit slowly tried to open the tunnel wider. Phal glanced at Shyara when she suggested going last. Well, now that I can fold my wing, I'm the smallest. And if all else fails I can dig my way through if the tunnel collapses, she said.

Eriel nodded towards Levina and nudged Quicksilver along, gently pushing him towards the surface. The elf grinned as the flow of magic within her sped up again. "I feel much better now." She laughed then stopped short as she noticed the length of her cloak. "So much for my cloak." The elf sighed and looked at Anthor's leg for the first time, flinching at the blood that was seeping through the cloth ; it seemed poised to drip down his leg already. She grasped the knob in her mind effortlessly and, drawing upon Emrhyst's and the energy stored in her sword's hilt, began to heal Anthor's wound.

Anthor looked at the blood dripping from his wound. He knew he didn't have the power to heal it, so seat there, his face grimaced. He sat there, waiting, then he said, "Hey, Gornath, you come before the others, if you make the tunnel large enough for you, then the other should have no trouble getting through!"
Gornath did as he was acked, and walked ahead of the dragonesses. He tore at the rocks and the soil with his powerful claws, pulling it away, and largening the tunnel with each blow. He stopped, but onlymomentarily for a breather. He said, This is going to take some time, so just sit tight.

OOC: Alright.
IC: Phal stood near the entrance of the tunnel, waiting for Gornath to finish digging his way through. Eventually, he reached the other opening and had emerged. The silver dragoness inspected the walls and ceiling of the tunnel to make sure it still looked stable, and then turned her gaze back to Shyara. Go ahead. I'll follow after you, Shyara, she said, motioning with her head towards the entrance. If the tunnel started to collapse, Phal was the smallest and most agile, so she reasoned that she would have the easiest time escaping from a possible cave-in.

Anthor's legs began to itch more and more, as the elf; Eril began to heal them. He fought the urge to claw at them to get at the itching flesh, but restrained himself. When it was all over, the pain, as well as the dripping blood was gone. He stood up and gave the elf a hige bear-hug. He said, "Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!" then the old rider stood up and said, "Come on out of here guys, we have to go find that little girl, she could be scared comewhere out here, I know I am!"
Gornath clawed at the rock and dirt until he created a hole large enough for himself to walk through. He went on through, knowing that he would be in the wy of the dragonesses if he stayed. He walked out ant roared loudly, and happily, glad to be free of the dirt, then his roar died down as he realized that he still could not fly here.

Shyara followed after Gornath, her wings tight against her back. She wasn't paying much attention to where she put her feet, more to how close her wings got to the edges. She was still in the bottom part of the tunnel, where magic couldn't react.
Suddenly Shyara's foot went through a soft spot in the tunnel floor that Gornath had managed to miss. She instinctively flared her wings in an attempt to keep her from falling. They smacked against the ceiling and walls. Shyara gasped and pulled them away quickly, but that damage was done.
She quickly pulled her foot out of the hole and put them where Gornath had stepped and ran up the tunnel, banging against the sides of the small corridor. The dirt and rock had begun falling as soon as she pulled her wings down. Phal hurry, Shyra's holding up the top end.
Shyara could clearly tell where the dividing line was, nothing was falling and everything was smooth. She had to jump to the top end as a large piece of the dirt fell out from under her into the caverns below. She quickly moved up to make room for Phal.
