Let me view the questions as of how things werte standing at the end of Eldest. 1] I cannot say Islanzadi, all the magic I've seen from her were flowers rainning. May have the knowledge and experience but we do not see her use it. 2] I cannot say Oronmis because we know his magical powers are "fading"; has the knowledge, but no longer the power. 3] Ayra, wow, she was able to break, slow down and hold the Star Sapphire allowing Eragon to kill Durza 4] Eragon killed Durza, battled in the Burning Plains, healed loads of people... 5] Murtagh immobilized both Saphira and Eragon, killed Hrothgar.... 6] Galbatorix was able to maintain the "illusion" of his armies being in one place, when they were really at another. Taught Murtagh a few of his tricks and he may have even taught the Twins a few of them (totally speculation on my behalf) My conclusion, Galbatorix is still #1 in magic so far on the dark side and on the side of the light it's Ayra in my book... _________________ ~.~.~.~.~.~ Last edited by AnnieBee on November 8th, 2006, 8:06 pm, edited 2 times in total.

I do not like Islanzadi, a mother should never banish a child because the child is an adult and as an adult made a decision that was not agreeable to the parent. Islanzadi sounds unfair, manipulative, stubborn and arrogant. She should get together with Vanir. They'd made for each other. We are not told the magnitude of Islanzadi's power. It seems that the flower thing is not much of a deal as long as you learn to manage the magic. I mean, Vanir freed himself without words when Eragon shut his big mouth; that doesn't mean that Vanir is the strongest in elven magic, does it? _________________ ~.~.~.~.~.~

Is not that being manipulative? Come on, since Ayra made her very own choice and not what she [Islanzadi] wanted her to do, she banished her and for 70 yrs she did not even look at her? And when she believes she's dead she does all this show of how she missed her and corners the daughter SHE banished into making ammends with her with no way out; it's either yes or no! Some mother, glad I have the one I have and boy was she strict!!! Ahhhhhh! Done ranting!! That's exactly my point, if we are to choose who is strongest in magic then we would have to stick to the characters we have seen do magic.
