Did you ever think that Arya already might be a rider? That would explain a lot. When Eragon was at the Stone of Broken Eggs he finds a shard of a green dragon egg, meaning that the green dragon migght have already hatched. This is where Arya comes into play. She has green magic and the dragon egg is green. Coincidence? I think not.
Then you might say if Arya is a dragon rider where is her gedwey ignasia?
well like brom, she could've hidden it.
Also why doesn't Arya try to defeat galby?
Well she prolly thinks she can't do it on her own so she waited all this time for another rider so she and the other rider (eragon) could double team galby. Or perhaps her dragon is dead or weakened.
Since she already is a rider she must've already been trained which is why she thinks so highly of and respects so much oromis

great theory brom1, I'd never thought of that. She might be a rider already (she couldve already stolen the egg and been trained by oromis) but I doubt it. But it would be pretty cool if it was true.

Plus it would'nt be interesting because I don't think she will have to take training because she is an elf. So no I don't think she is fit for rider.

I'd hate it if Arya became a rider.
She's too much of a princess type, stuck up elf if u ask me and a rider would only make it worse.
She has also gotten too much attention i think, and there should be more focus on the other females in the story, like Katrina and Nasuada, but Arya gets all the attention. (no idea why, she's annoying, lol)
So if Arya becomes a rider, or Eragon and her get together, im gonna be pretty upset and disapointed in CP, but thats just me

Roran doesn't (as far as we have been told) have a drop of rider blood in him. Eragon and him are related through Selena and Garrow. The riders blood in Eragon is from Morzan (or Brom take your pick of theories). Therefore Roran would not have riders blood. and I think another boy from carvahal being the next rider would be a bit redundant.

As for the Arya thing.
CP wouldn't have to write about the new riders training. He isn't required to write about everything that goes on. He doesn't write about every meal they have in detail.
Arya already has a position in the book. She is ambassador for the elves. That is a large enough position itself.
I have no idea who the next rider will be but Iam fairly positive that it won't be Roran and hoping that it won't be Arya.

his being a good leader is not important for a rider at this stage. Eragon is the leader, so another isn't needed.

as to training, wow. you made the wrong poin. Arya needs: dragon training. that's it. Roran needs: swordsmanship training, dragon training, spellweaving training, and AL training. How much time did Eragon spend with those? Most of his time with Brom on top of the months he spent in Ellesmera. All this while, if Roran was to undertake such training, would Galbatorix and Murtagh go to the beach for some R&R??? NO!!! They are going to attack soon!!! The Varden and the Elves need a rider and they need one FAST! They don't have months upon months.
