"Yes, brisingr." The fire flared, and a shiver ran through Eragon. SOMETHING ABOUT THE WORD MADE HIM FEEL INCREDIBLY ALIVE.

I'm guessing that CP will release the book on his birthday.

I dunno, could be, but I think it has something to do with his true name. That we know of, he never felt that shiver for any of the other words when he first learned them. Could have something to do with it being his first time, or it could have someting to do with his true name. That's what I hate about waiting!! You can't be sure until the book comes out. AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! Why can't it come out already!

Dear friends, I doubt we will ever know Eragon's true name. Recall that CP tries to maintain that mystery surrounding the Riders and what they do. Recall in Eldest that he didn't elaborate too much on Eragon's actual training, but more on his stay in Ellesmera. Recall in Eldest that when Glaedr taught him and Saphira how to seperate their consciouses so they wouldn't feel each other's pain, CP cut away from that. He cut away from when Oromis taught Eragon the words of death. Those are just a few examples, and I really believe that CP will continue that trend. Eragon's true name is for him and Saphira alone to know.

What do you think he is going to say at the Vault of Souls? It has to be his true name.

I'm telling you we will, because Eragon has to say it at the Vault of Souls.

My guess? It's probably at the forefront of his mind, since he was defeated by Murtagh. If he was beaten by the apprentice, what chance does he have against the master, without some sort of aid?

everyone, perhaps the VoS thing will not occur in this book. It's obvious CP is going to write further tales from Alagaesia (heh, that would be a good name for a series of short stories. Tales from Alagaesia). So maybe he is going to test our memory and put the VoS in a future book. Who says that all has to seem lost when Galbatorix is ruling? Just something to think about.

well, perhaps. but I really do think that if CP doesn't pull away from it, it's going to be included in future books. I mean, that is his style. He pulls away from things that he feels the reader shouldn't know about, as if Eragon were a real person and this was a real world.

okay... that is a cool idea... i mean the whole brisingr thing. And I agree the vault of souls thing should happen within the trilogy. I did not know about the brom story book... that would be awesome!

I agree, but it is so true for most of us on SF. Myself included. I told my grandma that anything we had planned on Saturday would have to be canceled or just not include me. And I just had a horrible thought. My great-aunt wants me to come help her with a garage sale on Thursday, Friday, and SATURDAY!!!! AAAHHHH!!!!

i have no idea what peoples true names are like, but thats a great idea. hadn't ever thot of that before. good thinking!!
