Empire is going to be the last book in the Inheritance series but not his last, CP is still young. For the fans I bet he'll make a few more series in Eragon's world, it will save him the trouble of having to recreate a new world and customs.

Yes, but they're not very big books. You could probably cram a couple of them into one book, and still have a decent trilogy. If you tried to cram Eragon and eldest together, it would be massive.

i agree and would like to say that although in the U.S.A The inheritance trilogy is big not many people have heard of it in the UK and i don't think cp could retire on it like J.K.Rowling

It's true. In some interview, CP said if he were to make another book based around alagaesia, it would be about Brom.

It will be the last book of the trilogy but in a press review he said that he plans to write more series. I hope that he continues to write this genre because I really like fantasy and he is a very talented fantasy writer
