I would even go further in saying that he started to train with Galbatorix even before Eragon arrived at Ellesmera. Somewhere I mentioned if Murtagh had any opportunity of redeeming himself, he lost it as soon as he killed Hrothgar. Murtagh may have had no saying in having to obey Galbatorix, but he did have a choice. For once in his life, HE HAD A CHOICE! Either submit to Galbatorix or die. He chose to submit. During his "conversation" with Eragon, we saw him as power hungry, (just like Morzan), as a tormented soul. I need to stop, or this post will be pages long!! _________________ ~.~.~.~.~.~

Maud the reason why I am asking you your age is because as human beings, be it in a story or in real life, we need to live up to some values and morals. I am absolutely sure your parents have instilled the right ones in you; however these stories are more than just an entertainment tool. They have lessons written between the lines and we as readers need to find them, ponder over them and come to our opinions in the light of our own morals. This is constantly discussed in classrooms when you read assigned books. And I assure the issues are going to get stronger as you go from one grade to the next. As honorable people with values, and a set of moral standards we need to choose between what is right and what is easy. Murtagh chose what was easy in this story, and the moment will come when he will have to pay for his choice. To my friends the Moderators I can only say this: I apologize for letting the Mom, the Grandma and the teacher in me run loose. I just could not walk away from this issue and make believe I never read it. As I said, I have a feeling Eragon wil first rescue Katrina, during which he or they (whoever goes with him) will find the third egg. The way I see it, it will hatch for Arya shortly after she comes in contact with it. Eragon will then return to complete his training with Oromis. I believe Brom mentioned that dragons are ready to mate when they're 5 or 6 months old; so while he's training, Greenie will be growing. By the end of the book, Greenie and Ayra will fight as Dragon and Rider for the Varden, THEN, they will mate. Thus, Eragon & Ayra leave Alagaesia with Saphira expecting to lay her dragon eggs. What I mean is that in another dragon series I read, when the females dragon has mated, she could not go out to battle "thread". (It has nothing to do with battles like in Eragon. It was a deadly spore that fell from the sky and would eat any living organism. Only stone and metal was immune to it). So I am having conflicting thoughts here. I am thinking that if Saphira has mated before the final battle, she wouldn't be able to fight if she has not laid her eggs. If she has then it wouldn't be a problem. _________________ ~.~.~.~.~.~
