Star Gazer sat at the top of the mountain, looking down at the world she had only recently returned to. All was different, and as she looked at the sacred home of her family rage burned deep in her heart. The once magnificent and stunning mountains her family inhabited for centuries was nothing but smashed caves. Something had gone down here, for none of the dragons remained. Star Gazer couldn't react as she stared at her once beautiful Dragon Mountain. She the queen of this place stared in horror. How could she have been gone so long as to have let this happen. She had let them all down, and now her failure stared her in the face. She wanted to know what happened!

Where once dragons splashed and played, there was a dried up hole, the river blocked. The training field nothing but a pile of rocks, and each and every cave was filled with piles of rocks. Now only small creatures lived there. She snarled at the scavenging creatures that had moved into the caves she had been raised in.

Reb walked over to her dragon, sorrow filling her own heart. It was her own fault. She had been the one to get them put under the shade's spell. One of dark, yet light. The rider of the untamed dragon. In this war of blood and glory, now the begining is the end of your story. To win you must go, your presence is now unknown. The words she knew so well, the ones that had sent both her and her dragon into an lengthy slumber. She didn't know what had awaken them, but now looking down at the destruction of this once sacred place, Reb didn't much care.

Reb climed down one of the rock faces, looking for signs that a battle had taken place, but unable to find anything.....wait she recognized the symbol staring back at her from above the cave. Faefnir(sp) and Star's cave! Reb began to dig frantically, moving rocks as she went, until a small hole opened up. She squeezed through and was thrown into instant darkness. A small flame appeared in her hand, lighting the way as she moved through the cave into the main cavern. Everything was as it had been, she even saw the small cave where Star's hatchlings had grown.

She was about to end her search and head back out when she saw it. Over on one wall, where Eriel and Reb had painstakingly painted a mural for the hatchlings, was drawn the royal symbol right through the center, as if daring them to come. Reb screamed in fury, the sound joined by the roar of fury that Star Gazer let loose. The noise echoing eerily around the mountains. It was time for payback.

IC: Hawke shuffled through a trail, his pack shifting positions with each step. Elisa flew several yards up in the air. He was uneasy at her being at such a height, but she had insisted it. Nevertheless, his eyes glanced around the skies wearily, almost daring something to attack her. Occasionally, his eyes also roamed around the sight of the large mountains. It was truly a marvelous sight, seeing as much of these large mountains as could fit in his peripherals. A large roar, follwed by a not as loud but still echoing scream snapped Hawke out of his stupor, and Elisa descended a few yards in height, hovering right next to Hawke's head. It was a roar and scream of anger, the former uttered by a dragon, while the latter came from that of a two-leg. Hawke ran along the trail, searching for the source of the sounds. Elisa flew as well, and Hawke stumbled in front of a cave. "Hello?" he questioned slowly. Elisa landed next to him, and Hawke used his sight for protection, in case the sources of the sounds were enemies.

Hawke tried to listen to their conversation, but they might as well have been speaking an entirely different language for all of the good it did him. His attention was drawn to in front of him when Star began to descend. Elisa glided to the cave floor and looked around. It seemed large enough for all of them to sleep comfortably, so she didn't have a complaint with their new accommodations.

IC: Hawke shrugged. "I'll reserve my opinion of you for now then, if you were so much different," Hawke replied, still laying against Elisa. He tried to fall asleep for the next few minutes, and eventually was successful. A faint snoring signaled that he was out for the time being.

OOC: Skip through the night?

OOC: I'll do it.

Nilarek lay at the entrance, angry at both those in the cave, and himself. He could have just accepted, it would have been so much easier. But no, I had to push myself away because life's so accursed difficult for me. Because I'm so different. Nilarek spoke a few curse words he knew from the Shadow realm before continuing his thought. They've been nothing but nice to me since they've met me. Or since I met them. Heck, they even trusted me enough to sleep in a cave with them. It's more than anyone else has ever done.
But could I really trust myself around them? Would I really want that? I loved what I did. I loved every second of it. But was that me? Or was it-

Nilarek's thoughts spiraled like that for the entire night, unable to decide which outcome was true. Or even which outcome he would have preferred. He was immensely glad when the sun arose the next morning, though when he realized that he was glad for it, it just sent his thoughts tumbling even further. He decided that it couldn't be too healthy and stretched to clear the night's thoughts from his head.
It's morning. He said aloud.
