Sarai
She popped into my head around two in the morning. She should be interesting. I Accept.
Name: Sarai (Suh-rye); Rye for short.
Age: Just hatched; will grow through Rp's.
Gender: Female
Skills: Sight; Though hatched blind like her Uncle (Zeke) and cousin (Tel'aeír), she can see much more than they can. Through her paws, she is anything but blind. From her mother she inherited the ability to see a type of Truth. It so happens that this Truth is in her surroundings. She can feel the smallest vibration of approach through her paws, the thrumming of energy in almost every plant close to her. It is impossible to sneak of up her, unless you come down from the air. Her hearing and sense of smell are weaker than the average dragon, giving any enemy a slight edge over her. She is easily overwhelmed with her powers. She can not turn off her power like her mother, uncle, and cousins can. She Sees everything, all the time. It gives her a headache all day, and it makes her very disoriented when a great scuffle takes place close by her or even when a dragon lands. She would say she hates her power, but it has saved her tail, as well as her mother's, several times.
Race: Wild Dragon
Hair: Two pale lavender horns that curl back from her skull, similar to a goats.
Eyes: Pale amethyst with flecks of grey, rimmed at the edge of the iris with black.
Home Village: She doesn't remember; her mother is constantly moving her around to protect her from her father.
Parents: Johdzsia (mother) Shruikan (father)
Siblings: None known
Character Personality: Rye can be cold and ruthless at times from her father, but the warmth and love of her mother always breaks through the shell of her heart. Rye resents not being able to show her mother the proper love and affection she wants to, but she understands that Jia doesn't want anyone to know of her father just yet. She bridles at her mother's protectiveness (especially since Jia found out she was completely blind), but tolerates it because she understands that its instinctual. Rye is quiet and shy, rarely speaking first when she meets someone new. Like her mother, once she warms up to a person, she considers them a part of her family. She also believes that everyone has a semblance of good within them, and they all deserve a second chance. Including Galbatorix. He was hurt by the death of his dragon. Not his fault. He was wronged by the Urgals who killed his dragon. Again, not his fault. Could he truly be blamed for his actions, when he'd been put through so much pain? Being a strong empathetic personality, she can understand more. She wishes greatly that she could meet her father, and is frustrated that Jia insists that its too dangerous. Rye knows Shruikan is the great black menace of the Empire, but she doesn't care. He is her father and is worthy of the knowledge that he has a daughter.
Character History: Sarai was first brought to being when Johdzsia and her Rider, Kale, were taken prisoner into Urû'baen. During that time, the two of them were tortured brutally to the last edges of life. But Galbatorix went one step further with her mother. He ordered Shruikan to go to Jia and mate her. He did, feeling sick with himself afterward. Jia went away from the Citadel, unknowingly carrying his child. A few months later, her mother began to show. And memories began coming back, popping up at random times. Jia was horrified, and she told no one. Not even Ka. She hid from everyone, secluding herself deep into the Beor's where no one could find her. She only had to wait a few more days before the egg was laid. She hid the egg deep inside a cave, telling the hatchling inside to not hatch until she returned. Rye did not know why she couldn't hatch now, but she obeyed her mother and waited. It was a few days later that Jia returned, and told her that she could hatch. Someone was with her this time, and Rye wasn't sure about him. But her mother reassured her that it was safe, and she broke free of her egg. She met Ka, Jia's Rider, but he didn't know that Jia was her mother. Rye, through some instinctual bond between herself and her mother, understood that Jia wanted to keep that quiet for now. She is now raised by her mother (in a silent, indirect way), and Ka, being taught the ways of right and wrong and how to use her powers. No one knows yet that Jia is her mother, but Rye becomes more and more impatient with being unable to show her mother any affection at all.
Weapons: Strength; Rye has unusual strength from her father. Despite her small size, she is about as strong as a four or five year old dragon. Though strong, it is very subtle. She can run faster, fly and breath fire longer (when she gains these abilities), and all around only has more endurance than the average dragonet would. She can't lift huge boulders onto her shoulders or tear down a tree with one swat of her paw. Her strength, and coupled with her powers, is a potentially lethal opponent on the battlefield.
Likes: Her mother and the rest of her family. Even Shruikan.
Dislikes: The Empire and everything that Galbatorix has done to her father.
Fear: That no one will trust her because of who her father is.
Weakness: Being overwhelmed by her powers; if too much is happening around her, she will become dizzy and unable to function, or simply pass out for a few minutes.
Animal Companions: None
Character's Physical Description: Rye is physically built the same as her mother, though with the slight muscle from her father. Also from Shruikan she inherited his black scales. Unlike him, however, she has a thin line of gold in between each scale. It is slight and nearly unnoticeable, but there. Her eyes are pale amethyst, almost lavender, with flecks of light grey through the iris color. Around the iris is a thin band of black, also from her father. Two pale lavender horns curl back from her skull, curving slightly inward toward her spin. Spikes of the same color line her back from the juncture of her neck and shoulders to the very tip of her tail, extending into two long, sharp spikes that she can use to jab and slice. Her teeth and talons are a pearly, ivory white.
Dreams for the Future: Prove that she is trustworthy.
Reason for Dreams: Everyone she meets is untrusting toward her. She strives to prove them wrong, that parentage and bloodlines have nothing to do with loyalty.
Alignment/side: With her family, of course. The majority of her family, anyway.
