I like the idea, it would thin their ranks, and if we took some with us, then those without light abilities, would be able to fend them off without being a liability. Said Gornath with a sparkel in his eye, Come let us go to see this "star stone".

OOC: Sorry, pass-turn...

Phal laughed a little. Heh, my bad. I guess with all the magic we've been exchanging I've started taking things too literally, she said to Shyara. She turned to them both.

The Star Stone would work against them in our world, but not in theirs. There is no light there... nothing can penetrate the darkness of their world. Shadow is just a force in their realm, just as gravity is in ours. You cannot destroy gravity with anything from the Shadow Realm, just as we cannot destroy shadow with anything from our world, Phal said, I used my starfire in there, and its light did not work. I can't glow as brightly as the Star Stone, but my fire is that bright. It hurt the beasts, but it did not actually shine. We could, however, use the Star Stone to seal the portal in some way. Phalynx stood silently in thought, wondering how they could accomplish such a feat.

OOC: I'm going away until Tuesday. Please don't skip me.

I see, Shyara said then delved into her thoughts to come up with an idea.

OOC: Short, sorry I got nothing

Gornath stood there waiting for Phalynx to deciede what to do.

OOC: Hey guys, I'm interested in joining... What exactly are you guys doing right about now in the story? Whatever it is, I'm sure Augustus would love to join all by himself .

OOC: Umm, it is a little late for someone else to be joining, but depending on what Draco and Kit say about it I may let you, but you have to read everything that has been posted.

OOC: I think it is a little late for you join, but what do you say Draco?

OOC: I honestly don't care, but if you do join make sure you read everything, and make sure you have something to contribute. There's not much left we have to do, though, so I'm not sure you'd wanna join so late...

OOC: lol I forgot that I was already here and that I was gonna post later...

IC: Phalynx nodded her head seriously, mulling over what her friends had said. If neither of their riders would know of a spell, then she would have to come up with one on her own. Surely she could manipulate the magic in such a way so as to lock the portal in place?

Alright. We can deal with that later. First, Gornath's right, we need to go shade-hunting, she said, Perhaps we should sneak up on them first, and make sure we know how many there are. That way we can be sure to get them all. Phal flapped along behind the huge white dragon, her eyes glowing gold as she used her sight to survey their surroundings.

Shyara jumped up behind Phal and Gornath. Lead the way, I can't see what you can.

OOC: Pass

OOC: Phals gettin more powers??

IC:
Gornath waited, untill the shades had been driven to him, then he attacked. He roared ferociously and slashed at them with his claws. He missed one, but the other hit home, sliceing right through the shade's heart. He ran as fast as he could after the other shade, but the cave that it ran into was too small, even for Phalynx to get through. Gornath began to tear at the rocks surrounding the tunnel in an attempt to get at the shade.

OOC: No, the star disguise I mention is something she's known how to do for a very long time. When she's flying she bends the silver light into a point, making it look like she's a star. You may be familiar with the fact that she travels like that. That's simply all I meant.

IC: Phal pressed her narrow frame against the cave wall to let Shyara pass. The dragoness was indeed quite stealthy, much more so than her. She smiled with amusement. There was no doubt she would have burst into the cave to confront them face to face. She saw the deaths of two of the shades, and the other two ran towards them. They skirted around Gornath to the outside. One was caught on the white's claws, but the other escaped into a hole on the side. Phal raced over and stood to the side as Gornath slashed at the rocks. She could see the shade trying to scramble out through a miniscule tunnel at the back, knowing it was outmatched.

Don't worry, Gornath. This shade doesn't look very skilled at anything except escaping, and it doesn't seem to have a good plan for that now that it's in the hole, Phal said, meaning that Gornath didn't have to strain himself digging the rocks away.

Gornath smelled the air and thought to himself, I hope Phalynx comes back soon. I can hear and smell the shadow beasts in the darkness that surrounds us. He looked toward the corner and saw a small tentacle. Then they wrapped around Gornath's mouth and stomach and he was carried off into the darkness, without Shyara's notice, for she was concentrating on something at the moment.

Gornath had been carried far, farther down that he thought possible, into a room that took all light away, when he tried to licht the cavern with his powers, it just took the light away. He sat there in the darkness wondering, Did they get Phalynx and Shyara, are they safe?

OOC: Thought I would add some drama to the story to kind of kick it up again.

Gornath roared in anger, when shadows began to come into the room. He began ot slash and burn the creatures, but it seemed to have to effect. He continued to fight, untill an extremely sharp blade shashed to the bone in his leg. He fell to the ground with a huge crash. His vision flickered twice, then there was naught but darkness. He passed between consciousness and left his body, in search of help. He saw Shyara some distance away and in spirit form went to her. He tried to tell her where his body was, but was unable ot communicate with her. He began to try to let her know he was there.

OOC: Hes not dead, its something like what happened to Phal in the other rp, but hes not visible at all.

OOC: lol, actually Phal's temporary foray into that state (in Guardians I assume) was caused by her over-curious investigating and experimenting. But this "leave-body" thing has happened in an island rp once before, perhaps the magic of the islands is similar. (Perhaps it even stems from the white dragons as an ancient way of dealing with major wounds or something.) lol I'll shut up now...

IC: Phalynx flashed through the tunnels at blinding speed. Anyone else would have crashed into the walls or some protrusion long ago, even if they had had a light. No light could give one enough warning at this speed. Luckily, Phal had a view of her course long before she passed each part, and her moves were all planned. She was aiming for the large lake chamber.

The tunnel finally opened out into it, and Phal burst out with no time to lose. She flew into a maze of side tunnels starting at the ceiling, finally ending up in the cavern with the Star Stone. She quickly began flapping her wings in a flurry near the entrance, sending clouds of Star-Stone dust into the air and floating down the tunnels. The clouds of glowing dust soon billowed out into the lake cavern and coated the lake itself in a glittery sheen. The shadow beasts, who had been persuing Phal with determination, fell back in a writhing mass as the dust coated their bodies. Phal finished them all off with a quick blast of starfire.

Deciding it was time to check on her friends, Phal headed out into the caves they had taken earlier. Being able to see almost the entire cavern system, Phal almost had a mental map of the place stored in her mind. It was to her benefit that she had a powerfully fast and intelligent mind, otherwise she would not have been able to cope with such vast amounts of information. Especially considering she could see all forms of light, colors that nothing else could even imagine. She laughed at the thought, thinking it no wonder how she could focus on her stealth if she were so occupied with such drawing things.

Gornath followed Shyara ot the Star Stonr cavern and was very happy, Maby they cannot see me, but maby Phalynx can see me. Gornath began to roar with all his might and make much noise. He began to breath some of his White fire, he continued to make noise an breath fire, untill Phalynx looked up.
OOC: Sorry, pass.

Shyara jumped when Phalynx did, What?! What?! She then heard her talk to Gornath, but she couldn't see him. Are you okay? she asked, Gornath isn't here, but if you're talking to him, please tell me where he is so I don't have to worry.

OOC: short

Gornath ried to talk o Phalynx, but to his sadness, she couldn't hear him. He beckoned for them to follow him.

OOC: Pass...sorry.

Shyara followed after Phalynx. She was practically useless because she couldn't see Gornath.

OOC: Pass

Gornath was in great pain when a shadow beast got past Phalynx and sinked its claws into him. He roared loudly in pain and was suprides ot hear his roar again, some hundred yards away. He then began to try to get Phalynx and Shyara to follow him to the place of orgin of the roar.

OOC: Pass.....

Shyara nodded to Phalynx, Okay. She ran after Phal keeping her eyes peeled toward anything that might interrupt them.

OOC: Do you guys want something to attack us? because I can edit this, otherwise that's my post

OOC: Are these the shadow crab-things, or an actual physical version of the crab-things? Or something else entirely, lol?

IC: Phalynx raced ahead after Gornath and into a tunnel, running as fast as she could, though her bulky wings slowed her down. Her sight warned her of something ahead, however. A sea of something was pouring down in a few narrow tubes above their tunnel, but the mass was so jumbled together that it was impossible to tell what it was through the rock. Every layer Phal had to look through blurred her vision slightly.

She stopped abruptly when the ceiling ahead opened and thousands of the things poured out. She backed away as she saw strange crablike things swarming around in a crazed mass. Waves upon waves of them fell out. She frowned and stood her ground, and then blasted a huge wave of them back with starfire. Though the attack killed hundreds, it barely dented the mass. Phal had to focus on simply keeping them away from her and Shyara.

OOC: They are a little of both, they were like the physical crabs that Gornath faced at the beginning, but these have been enchanted, so they are partially shadow.

Shyara nodded, Okay. As soon as Phalynx made a move Shyara did also.

She stayed close behind her aunt, while she was being bombarded by the little crab creatures.

OOC: sorry it is short, can't think of anything else to write

How are we going to do that? I only know a little bit about these shadow creatures, let alone the realm from which they come.

OOC: sorry it's short, but can't really say much more than this

OOC: Hey, I am still grounded, so whoever understands Gornath and his powers better, please god-mod.

OOC: I'll do it for this post.

IC: Gornath waited for Phalynx to lead the way to the portal. He stood behind them, watching his icy wall. The shadow beasts were continuously scratching and clawing at the ice in an attempt to break through. They soon would. He turned with relief when Phal said she knew where the portal entrance was. Good. Let's destroy this thing, he said, waiting for the others to start off.

Phalynx saw that her friends were ready to leave. Stay close. We'll be there in a few minutes, but remember to stay as close as possible at all times, she warned, her voice serious. If any of them got separated by even a little, the shadow beasts would take advantage of it. They had to stay together to be strong.

Phal roared and leapt through the wall of ice, breathing starfire before her to clear a path through both the ice and the shadows. The frozen shards burst out in a cold explosion, and the fiends beyond fell back as the cavern was illuminated with starlight. Phal ran as fast as she could for the tunnel entrance on the far side of the room. She dashed into it, glancing back only once to make sure her friends were following safely behind.

OOC: Kit has been gone a while, should we god-mod?

OOC: I'll pm him, and if he doesn't respond in a few days then yeah.

OOC: Well, that is just it. I have sent him pms over the last few weeks and he just hasn't been on, I don't know where he is...

OOC: Oh, then he must still be busy with moving. You can god-mod his next turn if you want, or I can do it. Doesn't matter.

OOC: I guess you should... I will try to next.

OOC: Voenth, you skipped me, i think. What's the order?

IC: Shyara looked behind her again to check the distance between her and the horde. As much as she wished to deny it, they were slowly gaining and the tunnel was becoming more cramped. She had taken to the ground when the tunnel walls didn't allow flight anymore and now it looked as if they'd restrict walking also. You're going to make it. You're going to make it, she kept repeating in her mind.

OOC: Sorry, Kit, I totally didn't mean to, it was midnight when I posted it, I wasn'th thinking clearly. I am so sorry...

OOC: Just make sure to wait for Kit this time, voenth. I know, this is an exciting rp, but we'll all just have to be patient.

IC: Phal let out a small groan, wanting so badly to help her friends, but knowing she had to concentrate on her task of closing the portal. She felt so torn, between doing what she knew she had to, and trying to keep her friends safe. She knew that one day, she would probably have to make an even more difficult choice like this, and she dreaded that day.

She shook her head, concentrating on narrowing and finally destroying another tendril of dark magic keeping the portal open. Phal knew that the Shadow Realms would start pumping more and more energy into the strongest rope of darkness, but she was careful to eliminate the smaller ones first. One by one, the threads of darkness were extinguished, and fewer shadow beasts could make it out of the portal. Just a little more, Phal thought, her face set in determination.

OOC: Sorry, Kit, didn't mean it to be like that, just that Shyara without light abilities gona have a hard time fighting through to the others, lol. Also, this one is about ready to be ended.

IC:
Gornath continued his mad dash toward Phalynx and the portal. He stopped beside the silvery dragoness and began to blast the portal with a powerful flame of white fire. He roared angrily and fell, his left hind leg giving beneath his weight from exhaustion and the small wounds inflicted upon him by the shadow beasts. He continued his flame, burning at the shadow portal with all his might,

OOC: no, it's fine, Shyara's frustated with herself, because she can't do much, nothing to do with you guys

IC: Shyara flew up beside her aunt. Yes, we're okay, or at least I am, Shyara said, almost in dismay. So did they open another one, or is that the last one here on the island?

Shyara rocked alittle on her legs from the sudden loss, but regained her control after a few seconds. Even at this point she was sure she had more energy then Phal had had. So I guess we're all set then, anything else?

OOC: I guess this RP is over then huh?

OOC: Yes, only one more round of posts, well the finishing posts, lolz.

TIME SKIP

Two Weeks.

IC:
Anthor walked about the rubble and stone that was being used to build the city on Sharktooth. He watched with wonder as the green, and white dragons worked the stone, by melting it, then as those with ice breath abilities froze it when it was in the wanted shape. All this was caused by three, Gornath, Shyara, and Phalynx. They had defeated the shadows and were now creating a wonderous home on the island to keep ot safe from the darkness.

Gornath oversaw the work, his friends; Shyara and Phalynx were nearby. He smiled at them, his wounds were nearly completely healed and his energy was restored. He said, In only a few day's time, my home will be finished, and there will always be a place, for both you, Phalynx, and Shyara, as well as your families if you have some in the future, Shyara, let Kit and Shyra know they are always welsome here, as is Ecrives.

OOC: Very well. I shall make my last post!

IC: Phalynx perched on a rocky outcropping, surveying the scene below her. She felt almost as though her heart were glowing, so happy was she to see the dragon race growing in strength once more. Our race is healing, she thought, closing her green eyes and smiling. She thought of the events that had led to this joyous victory, and remembered how she had recovered her strength and ascended the tunnels with her friends. She had left a few days later, and this was her first visit back to the island in almost two weeks.

Phal turned to Gornath, the golden stripe in her right eye glowing faintly. Thank you, my friend. I am only glad that we were able to secure another victory for our kind. We are recovering, and growing stronger once more. It is a sign of hope, and a of a bright future.
