Maybe it would, but I don't think it could happen. Now, are you implying the books were NOT interesting?????

I read that he had already plotted the three books. He is just developing them. Icannot help to end

with this; but I must: I HATE THE WAIT!

Hey Incomer! Welcome back!! What is it which you find strange in Roran. At least I did not catch anything weird about him.

I remember when i was young in 1777. I remember being a powerless man that could not control my fate much less that of the people around me. I temember hearing the howls of the wolves and wishing i could run with them. And then came that faithful day when i was attacked by a lone wolf looking for food. It turns out what he called a curse was a blessing to me. I was finally able to run with the wolves not just in my imagination but in reality with four paws of my own. I was no longer a mere man or a victim of fate but a creature of the night, an immortal, A WereWolf.

OK, let me get serious for a moment. If Eragon is forced to choose between Roran or Murtagh it will be a VERY hard choice.

On one hand is Roran, with whom he has grown up for the past 15 yrs and represents the family ties & roots. The one who lost his father and his farm because of his decision to keep Saphira. The one who became a warrior to defend and protect the people of his villege and rescue his Katrina.

On the other hand is Murtagh: the one who became his friend and risk his life to save him from the Empire. The one who he came to like and miss when he was gone, but was forced to serve Galbatorix.

I would not like to be in his shoes. Eragon is such a noble character that this choice will tear him in two if the time comes when he will have to choose.

Getting out of topic is so easy.

How did we get from "Who thinks Eragon will die?" to "Who is going to kill Galbatorix?" or "What life will Eragon spare?"

CP says he's not doing another series or book about eragon. He either dies in Empire, or doesn't die at all.

No, riders can't die of old age. As said in the books, they can only die if they are poisoned, stabbed, their dragon dies or overuse of magic. Rider's can't die of old age, so in theory they could have infinite lives.

Right now Murtagh is an enemy-if Eragon want to save Vardems and all things they represent he must know to do-like i said Murtagh is enemy that means Eragon can't just say: Hey buddy you had saved my butt so I can't kill you now even if you're the last thing before me and Galbatorix

Yeah and for Roran: This guy was able to kill trained warriors even when he was outnumbered (he was just with Katrina's father) and he wasn't hurt-seems to be strange don't you think (All people will die in this situation trust me in this)

INCOMER WROTE:(Your quote box is HUGE, so i did a copy and paste. Hope it's OK)

Right now Murtagh is an enemy-if Eragon want to save Vardems and all things they represent he must know to do-like i said Murtagh is enemy that means Eragon can't just say: Hey buddy you had saved my butt so I can't kill you now even if you're the last thing before me and Galbatorix Wink

Incomer you are absolutely right! He will have to choose to kill Murtagh if the time comes,
but I feel so sorry for the forced circumstances of his life. I cannot help but feel pity for him. On the other hand, Roran has proven himself a warrior beyond doubt. He has become a leader without him realizing it. He pursues his personal goal, but did not forget the common good of his fellow villegers. He will be a great asset to the Varden. (Once he saves Katrina) This is why I said in another thread that I would like if the third egg hatched for him. Unlikely, but hey I can wish until the book comes out.
Roran just needs some official polishing up!

Eragon the 1st elf wrote: (I did a copy & paste here too for the same reasons stated above)

and eragon will proberly chose roran

You are also correct!

Eragon is left in the same position as I am right now; but if the time to coose should come, he will choose Roran.

I don't think Roran would do anything terrible so that Eragon would choose Murtagh over him. And anyway, I don't think there's any redemption for Murtagh.

BTW I read an old interview with CP today in Alagaesia.com and it says that CP is following the "the hero's journey." in the story plot, so it is very improbable that he would die.

We know he needs to do a couple of things before rescuing Katrina. At this point of the story maybe he'll do something mad, I don't know. But at the closure of Eldest we have an Eragon that has "learned to think." So it could go either way.

Aj I was thinking about Roran-if he will do some stupid thing only to save Katrina which could kill a lot of innocent people (but id don't in the end) than Eragon will have many reasons to vote for Murtagh live!

Anyways do you think that refusing alliest because you don't like them is wise?

I dont't know. I would think he would be inclined to favor Roran, if we are to go by the happenings at the end of Eldest.

In regards to your second point:
Well, while discussing the Urgals, Oromis told Eragon that sometimes one has to ally with people you don't like or approve of and Nasuada had to do just that in order to have a chance for the Varden in the battle. So, I guess the answer should be , yes, when "the good of the many" in endagered.
