Honestly I couldnt decide where to put this, so I'll just settle for here.

Anyways, right after I graduate...so bout 6-7 months or so from now, I'm gonna be going into the Military.
At this point it looks like navy for me. So I'm gonna try to enjoy my time here while I can. After I join I'm not sure how long it would be before I could access a computer. Probably at least 2 months...afterwards most likely active duty forever how long. I'm not exactly saying good by mind you, but I'll absent for several periods of time.
I plan to stay on as long as I can =)

Since I have high enough scores for my ASVAB test, I can be an IT specialist, Crypto. Basiccally meet the requirements of handling things that require higher security access.
If I get training for that and got back out of the military, I could get a job at banks (security stuff), almost any agencies, (FBI, CIA, NSA), maybe work in the Pentegon.

I havent really thought that far ahead though, just taking things as they come.

It's not an easy decision to sign a contract that states that signing it may result in the loss of your life. I remember a little over a year ago when I signed the feeling of pride that I had, and also the nervous excitement I felt.

Just because you serve in the military doesn't mean you have to be away from Saphiraforums.

Your basic training will be a no go (as we say in the Army), for Saphiraforums, but that's only for about 8 weeks. After that you'll have the Navy's equivalent to AIT, which operates a lot like college. Plenty of time to search the internet, just don't forget your studies.

Since you're looking at Active duty in the Navy you'll have a shore duty station, and then you'll have sea duty. During Sea Duty internet access is very hard to come by, but when you aren't out at sea, active duty in the Navy acts very similar to a regular old job. Once again, plenty time for Saphiraforums

My active duty doesn't start until 2012, and I may just be an Army reservist, but I have several friends in the service in all different branches and jobs, so if you have any questions. Feel free to ask

When you get to where you're heading, good luck to you, man. I don't think I'd have the potential to serve, so good on you. Hope you keep everyone updated, I'm not on enough to count.
