I was wondering who the new dwarf king would be. Since Hrothgar was killed by murtagh, i think Orik will become king, because he is Hrothgars nephew.

Orik is the only logical choice 4 CP he cnt reali afford to add a new character + Orik is great!!!

But if Orik becomes king, how will that affect his relationship with Eragon? With orik dealing with being a king, they will hardly see each other.

aye. Orik and Eragon are good friends. i doubt kingly responsibilities from Orik will distance them or make them less friends than they already r. plus, Orik will b the next Rider (just my thought).

Yeah i dont know who elese would be the new king. I dont think cp would put some random dwarf in that position. Also i think somwere it says Orik is Hrothen (sry bout spelling) sucsesor.

yeah i remember reading that orik was Hrothgar's successor, so i don't see any reason why the new king wont be Orik.

Most definitely Orik simply because no other dwarves play a significant part in the book.

yeah orik is the only dwarf we really know, if it was some other character cp will have to introduce and whatnot which he really doesn't have time to do with all the loose ends he has to tie up

Eragon is Oriks brother... sort of thing....Hrothgar adopted him... i think or something like that bcos ERagon is part of Orik's clan now if i remeber correctly

ok, it would make sense for orik to be king, but if this was not a story, then as there are 12 or 13 dwarf clan leaders and they elect a king it could be anyone. unless their like pirate lords and all vote for themselves

and the next person to say that orik or a werecat or an urgal or anyone other than an elf or human is going to be the next rider will die!! Orik. He is the heir to the throne any way. Hrothgar had taken him in after his parents died and made him the heir.

he never made him heir and anyways, the Dwarven thrown doesn't work that way. it is elected by the leaders of the clans.

nah, he's Eragon's friend so they'll see it as a way to be able to get on the riders' good sides.

no, if theres thirteen kings, 1, likly orik, will be made king. normally, as a new succesor to the reins of durgest ingetnam, he wouldn't be made king so early in his rule, but it makes sense for the story.

someone just said that, and while he may be maid chief, and it makes sense for him to be king, it doesn't guarentee it, the dwarves vote on it

ok dwarves arent stupid and they dont decide who gets to lead by bloodline...they do it by the characteristics and how good of a leader theyd be...HOWEVER it may be orik because hesa great fighter with great characteristics,but as scarecrow said,hes gotta go through MANY people to become dwarf king

I SUPPORT ORIK!!! after all, it sounds like his relationship with hrothgar was pretty good. perhapes hrothgar's will will be found in the third book saying that orik is to be the next king. after all, he is his nephew, isn't he?

yes, i know he was adopted, but i think he was hrothgars blood nephew. i think he has a chance of becoming king because he knows eragon well, and arya, which gives him a wider range of experience that few dwarves can match. so he may be best qualified.

And he is one of the few dwarves whos name we know. So since making new names is always troublesome i think he will probably become new king.

i think the new dwarf king is goin to be orik i dont think cp with add a new name to the character list so hell just make it someone we slready know

well, i'll say those are more reasons why orik may be king

i know, LOGICALLY, he probably wouldn't, in maybe peace time in a real world, but its a story and in it he is an important character with unique expereience

he is a possiblility because hes hrothgars heir and that means he becomes grimborath or whatnot
