Hope you like my second charry!

Name: Solarae

Age: about 600 (she tells people that she doesn't really keep track, but in reality she lost track of how many years she was imprisoned by Kumaraq, an evil sorcerer dragon)

Gender: female

Skills: Solarae, like all dragons, can breathe fire. Her fire, however, is much more powerful than the average dragon's flame. It can melt most kinds of metal if applied long enough, and she can sustain a constant stream of fire for hours. This skill is closely related to another of her skills: that her scales are completely fire-proof and she can even swim in magma/lava. She can light her scales on fire and burn her way right through things, though she can't sustain this state for a very long time. If she stays like it too long, she can become exhausted.

Solarae is also a fierce warrior. Her wings are strong and she is a powerful flyer. She can fly through very strong winds and sandstorms. Her claws and tail are her most powerful weapons (other than flame). Her claws, teeth, and tail-blade are lethally sharp. She is extremely skilled in fighting, and can take down opponents most would think impossible for her. She is especially skilled at killing shades.

She recently learned that she possesses a magic fire state. She can turn from her fire state into her magic fire state. In this state, the flames around her turn blue fading to yellow on the edges, and her eyes begin to glow. While using this form, she can light things on fire at any distance and completely control fire. This state takes more out of her than her normal fire form. She loses even more energy and can stay in this form for even less time.

Character Personality: Solarae has always had one of the more fiery personalities of dragons. She is highly spirited and is usually quite cheerful, that is, unless she's fighting. Solarae loves to fight and is an amazing warrior, and when fighting she's completely serious. Well, not completely. She often has fun while she fights and the less important fights she treats as a game. She loves to explore and fly, and she is a huge risk-taker. One of Solarae's favorite passtimes is flying through the deadliest of storms, mainly sandstorms, as she comes from the desert, but any storm will do.

Solarae is also very reckless. She is courageous at heart and will put herself in extroardinary danger to protect her ideals or loved ones, and always tries to fight for a noble cause. She has clear thoughts, and is very selfless. However, this often leads to her getting in trouble or injured badly. She has no real friends at the moment, but probably needs some to keep her from killing herself.

Though Solarae is reckless and fierce, she is also compassionate. Her recklessness often leads her to help anyone in need, no matter the cost to herself. Though she is very intelligent and is a good problem-solver with clear thoughts, she often rushes into things without thinking; the worst flaw in her mental abilities. She will also never admit how compassionate she is, for she likes to keep her fierce reputation. She can also anger easily, and has a tendency to speak her mind. It's not that she doesn't think before speaking, it's just that she really doesn't care about any other's reactions.

Solarae is an extremely loyal dragon, and her selflessness (often to the point of foolishness) prevents her from being seduced by darker forces. She will readily sacrifice herself in order to save others. She doesn't have any friends currently, and believes that it would be better to stay friendless, for she knows that her reckless behavior would get any friends into huge trouble.

Solarae also does not let her small size deter her. She is a fierce fighter, better than most dragons, and her intelligence also gives her an advantage. She also appreciates good humor, and loves to have fun and laugh.

Character History: Many decades ago, perhaps many centuries, two dragons met far to the east of the Hadarac desert, above the Edda River. It was some time before the Fall. They were warm brass-colored Rutilidon, and reddish-purple Veristar. The two dragons fell in love almost instantly, a very fiery, passionate love. Rutilidon was, uniquely, half Fanghur. His size, however, was not much smaller than normal. Veristar, who was also a small dragon (though pure dragon) did not care in the slightest. An egg soon followed, an egg that would later become Solarae.

The egg was smaller than a normal egg, and their tiny female chick was extra-tiny. They named her Solarae for the sun, after her fiery personality and coloring. Solarae had an almost ideallic childhood, growing up with the care of both parents. Solarae left them eventually, determined to seek her own path and explore the land. However, she went farther to the east, instead of to Alagaesia. Her adventures there and her eagerness to explore all the way to the coast and beyond kept her away from her birthplace for many years. Solarae never became very big. Her growth rate was much smaller than a normal dragon, and she reached her adult size at only about thirteen feet long. She had obviously inherited this size from her Fanghur grandfather. (This had been an especially intelligent Fanghur; one who could speak with his dragon mate. Their wherabouts are unknown.)

While in the east, Solarae met the dragons of the Tribe, and helped them in a fight against several very powerful rogue dragons. The help she gave them won her their eternal friendship, and though they gave her some of their magic paint marks, the paint was burned away, regretably. Solarae decided to go south and see what had driven these rogue dragons away from their homeland. When she was there, she was captured by the minions of Kumaraq, an evil sorcerer dragon. Solarae was held in his dungeon for an indeterminate amount of time, but probably close to a hundred years. Though she tells people that she's never kept track of her age, it was this period where she lost track. While in captivity, she befriended another captive: a phoenix named Rigel.

Finally, after another bout of torturing, Solarae discovered her fire state power. She used it to blast her way out of the cell and rescue Rigel. The two of them fled north out of the Scorched Lands. While travelling along the banks of the Burning Sun Sea, Rigel betrayed his true nature by attacking Solarae. She found out that he had been planning to use her all along, and now no longer needed her. However, because of her past and fighting skill, she was able to defeat him in battle, and though he escaped, he was dying and needed to regenerate. Solarae spent a few years by the Burning Sun Sea, sadness filling her heart. From then on, it was more difficult for her to trust others.

Solarae finally returned to the cave near the banks of the Edda, where she had grown up. She wasn't sure how much time had passed, but did know that it was at least three hundred years. Solarae returned to a scene of sadness. The bones of her parents lay in the cave where they had fallen next to each other. They had perished, like most of the remaining dragons, in the Fall. Solarae learned from a few passing elves (this was still during the killing of dragons, when there were still more than a few dragons left) about the Fall and Galbatorix. Solarae then set out for the Hadarac desert. She had spent most of her wandering time in the deserts east of the Edda, and loved deserts and heat more than any other place. She eventually regained her spirited nature, despite the recent blows, and took to her mission with determination.

Solarae spent a great deal of time perfecting her fighting technique and hiding from the Empire, for once she did not rush into things, for she knew that she would be needed later, after the Purge of dragons ended. 50 years ago, the danger finally reached too close to her, so she left back to her old home in the eastern deserts. She first visited the Tribe dragons and stayed with them for a while, and then went back to the Burning Sun Sea. She has only recently returned to see if she is needed yet.

After her return to Alagaesia, Solarae found that there was plenty of fighting to engage herself in. She found many evil enemies and many friends. She has made friends with the Royal Family of Alagaesian dragons, and was delighted to hear of their survival. She became friends with the ancient dragon Bahamut while exploring the Empire more. She also made friends with an elf by the name of Paconio and his young dragon Augustus. She went on a mission with him to kill a particularly dangerous shade, and made perhaps the best friend she's ever had in the process. She found a friend in a young dragoness named Syllwin on a mission to get an unknown treasure from the Empire.

Likes: heat, wind, storms, thinking, flying, fighting, fire, deserts, cooked meat, the sun, and some types of tropical fruit, which she tried on her travels to the east

Dislikes: cold, wetness (other than in storms, which she doesn't mind), cruelty, imprisonment, cowards, Galbatorix, selfishness, traitors, shades

Character's Physical Description: Solarae has inherited her Fanghur grandfather's small size. She is only about ten feet long, with a fourteen foot wingspan. She stands only about six feet high. Her scales are a very unique color: they are fiery orange, mixed with a little gold, brass, and red, though this is very faint. Her belly is a warm brassy gold, and her wing membranes are a darker reddish-orange color. She has a large crest of thing, long, mobile spines on the top of her head. The spines get smaller and loose their mobility as they go down her neck, back, and tail, but are all deadly sharp. She has a leaf-shaped blade at the tip of her tail, which is also lethally sharp. Her spines, horns (of which she has six going back from her head), and leaf-blade shade into blood-red. Her claws and teeth are also extremely sharp and are ivory in color. Her eyes are the same color as the desert sky on a cloudless day. Solarae's canines protrude prominantly from her upper lip, giving her a very dangerous look.
