Post Fate of a Riders Son
The sun beat down on Fenlore head as he walked beside Bree. He wore a cloak to conceal his elven armor, his father’s sword was strapped to his back under the same cloak, and his spear was strapped gingerly to Bree's saddle. In silence half-breed and immortal horse walked.
They had been traveling for several days heading for the center of the Hadarac Desert. Dangers had been growing the further they traveled. Both of them were alert and ready but for what was to come they did not know.
Bree nickered quietly breaking the silence suddenly. An image of a cloaked rider filled Fenlores mind. It was clear to Fenlore that was an image of a desert nomad. Not someone he would normally fear.
I understand but be calm. We cannot escape them in their own desert. Fenlore replied to Bree using his mind, speaking the ancient language. And it wouldn't help if we tried. We have to complete the mission we are on. Fenlore reached inside his cloak and felt for the letter that his former master had left him long ago. This was not a task that he was sure he was ready for but the longer he waited the worse thing got in world. And maybe just maybe this would make some difference. Maybe he could mean something to the resistance.
Bree came to a stop, in a panic sending wild images to Fenlore. With concern Fenlore stretched out his mind and soothed Bree while searching the surroundings. And even as much as Fenlore searched for whatever cause Bree to panic he found nothing.
"Friend, I'm afraid others have joined the nomads." Fenlore said aloud, not sure if they had actually joined the nomads or were they just another group keeping tabs on his progress. He didn’t like the idea of either thought.

Occ: okay its been a while so i may be rusty. anyhow i would like it if someone joined^^

Elfrida dismounted her black mare, and knelt to study the ground. "Nomads." she told her animal companions. "It doesn't smell like a nomadic horse. Blacknight said. "I should know since I had to grow up with them. Elfrida looked at her mare. "What is it?" she asked. "It smells like a horse filled with magic, or magic spells. I don't know. It's strange." Blacknight replied. Death Haunt sniffed the air. "There is a half-blood nearby, Elfrida" The wolf said. Elfrida stiffened. "Wulfe?" she asked. "No." Death replied. "This one is half human unlike you and you brother." Elfrida became less stiff, and stood. "Who would you rather meet? The nomads, or the half-blood?" Elfrida asked. "The half-blood." Horse, and wolf said in unison. "If the half-blood is an enemy it should be easy to take him out than a whole group of nomads." Death said. "Come on! Let's go meet this half-blood, and strange horse!" Death said enthusiastically as he started running in the direction of the half-blood. Elfrida mounted Blacknight who galloped directly after, behind the wolf.

Fenlore kept his mind open keeping tabs on the nomads. It was a simple task that even Bree could accomplish. His mind wandered to his quest, to many unknowns for his liking but his master had been like a father so he would trust the letter that was left to him.
Bree nickered lightly and Fenlore felt the walls around the horse’s mind strengthen. Fenlore turned his head and spotted a wolf running at them and not far behind a horse and its rider. An image sent from Bree of them galloping away entered his mind. But Fenlore wasn’t sure if it was an option, the nomads were aware of what was happening and he remember how he had worked as a bandit; it was best to strike pray as it was running from another foe, he thought remembering his first days as bandit and the lessons he was taught.
No, we stand our ground. Watch my back. Fenlore spoke to Bree in his mind. He unsheathed his sword from his back but did not dare toss aside the cloak to improve his mobility; it would only encourage the nomads to attack and possibly these new comers if they saw his elven armor. Fenlore felt Bree step away from him and strength flow to his mental walls. Keep careful watch over their minds let me know everything.
Holding his blade ready Fenlore shouted enhancing his voice with magic to make it so the Nomads close by could not hear, “Who goes there? And I suggest you call your wolf off.” Fenlore was not sure of the threat they possed but he was not taking any chances he knew of the dangers in the desert.

Death slid to a halt with an annoyed look on his face. "My wolf?" Elfrida laughed. "He is my companion, not my pet." Blacknight slid to a halt beside Death. "Who's side are you on?" Elfrida asked, running a quick eye over the other to decide how dangerous he could be. The first thing Elfrida noticed was that the other half-blood was short--well shorter that her by about half a foot. Easy to defeat if he attacks. My magic could wipe him out in a second. she told Blacknight, and Death. "Who are you half-blood? Death growled rather impolitely. Blacknight flattened her ears against her skull at Death, and he corrected himself. "Would you be so kind as to tell us who you are, and what you are doing here, and who's side you are on?" The wolf asked with as much politeness as he could muster. Blacknight's ears pricked forward again, and she spoke to the stranger. "You may put your sword away. Unless you serve Galbatorix I doubt we are enemies. Even if you do it wouldn't matter as we have friends who serve him." Elfrida slid off of Blacknight's back. "The nomads of this part of the desert are not the most friendly. They have feuds with most everyone, and if they don't have one they make one. For your safety put away your weapon, and depend on my magic to defend you. I know the way of these nomads. I was raised by them."

As Fenlore heard what was said it infuriated him. He wasn't a servant of Galbatorix, but he didn't need the shelter of others. Bree felt the anger growing in Fenlore this made the horse even more uneasy.
Bree come closer The horse obeyed and came to Fenlores side. He did not lower his blade.
"I serve no one." He said in a low voice his eyes narrowed. He let his walls around his mind fall he would fight this battle if needed. Power flowed through him as he prepared several spells in his mind.
Though he did not put his sword away he did lower it. Being raised by nomads was something that few admit to but maybe common ground for Fenlore to be able to avoid a conflict.
"I traveled with a group of bandits for twenty years of my life. I know of the risk that nomads present to me." Fenlore spoke in an even voice now his eyes no different though. He wasn't quick to trust and they had already looked down on him. Bree sent him an image of the nomads and how they had gotten close to hear what was going on. Tough luck with that He thought as he spoke to the three before him.
"And before you know who I am I would like you to answer what I have asked you."

"I wouldn't try using magic if I were you." Elfrida said. "It takes no energy from me when I use it, but from others, and I do not wish to take my friends' energy. I am Elfrida. I am called were-elf, half-breed, traitor, and many other things less pleasant. half werecats aren't the most popular people in the world--even less so than half elf, half humans." she said as she ran a finger down her scar. "These are my friends Blacknight, and Death Haunt. We are hated by almost all. Especially the nomads that raised us. I will warn you that they have numerous spell casters." Death spoke to Blacknight, and Elfrida. "The nomads say I have not repaid them for the skills I learned. They have come to die it seems." Elfrida allowed a sunburst to appear over her hand, and she considered expanding it, and throwing it at the nomads nearby that Death had told her about. Elfrida looked at it, and let it dissipate. "I hate visions." she thought she said it where only her companions could hear, but said it with her voice. "Blacknight, Death, wait here. The nomads are my responsibility." Elfrida told them softly, and walked towards the nomads. Death's fur stood up as Blacknight said, "Not again!"

Elfrida put her hand to the scar on her face, and pulled it away covered in blood. "Prepare to die, Wulfe. Come out of hiding, my scar tells me you are near." Wulfe smiled as stepped into the open. "Maybe I shouldn't have given it to you as a parting gift. I didn't know you could lie to your friends Elfrida. I am not a nomad little sister." Elfrida's eyes changed to angry red as she spoke in a dangerously soft voice, "You left me with them, which was about the only good thing you ever did. Prepare to die now. I will not serve your master!" Wulfe smiled again. "So be it. We will fight."

Death and Blacknight looked at the stranger. "We can talk after the nomads are dealt with. Let's just get rid of them!" The wolf said, and he turned to attack the nomads, with Blacknight's help.

Fenlore growled, and glared after the wolf and horse. He was no fan of nomads but he wasn't fond of being told what to do. Bree nudged him forward and Fenlore sighed.
"Fine but I have not the time for fighting." He said more to himself than anyone else.
Fenlore sprinted after Blacknight and Death, his elven blood giving him the speed he needed to keep up. His sword ready as he approached the first nomad, with a swift clean cut the nomad fell cleaved in two.
An image of Elfrida fighting another came to his mind from Bree. Fenlore sighed as he began to dance with the grace of elves through the nomads ranks, any that his blade touched did not rise again. I have no time for this conflict He spoke to Bree and he felt an emotion close to regret for having the conflict coming from Bree. Not your fault my friend
There weren't many nomads just a small scouting group of around fifteen.
Once he felt he had killed enough of the nomads for them to get the point, this didn't not take long thanks to his father blood, he then turned his attention to Elfrida and Wulfe.
"I have not the patients for this!" He shouted at himself. He was prepared to stab out at the minds of all of them if it would get him moving quicker.

Wulfe swung his sword at Elfrida. She smiled, and stepped aside. A sunburst appeared in her hand, and she threw it at Wulfe, hitting him with full force in the stomach. Wulfe's retaliation was quick, and his aim was true, but he did not expect Elfrida to do what she did. Wulfe's blade went through her heart. In fact it had not been aimed there, but Elfrida had moved where it would. Wulfe pulled his blade out in surprise. He looked at Elfrida, expecting her to fall over dead. "You can't do it Wulfe." she said. "Not like that. Find another way. Wulfe knew what Elfrida meant, and changed to cat form to give the killing blow. Elfrida lifted one hand in the air, and teleported Wulfe. A glowing orb appeared in her hand. It seemed to drip with Evil. She brought it to touch the scar on her face, and was healed immediately, though the scar remained, and appeared to be flaming. Elfrida teleported the orb away and turned to face Fenlore. "My foresight tells me you will meet Wulfe in combat someday, Fenlore. Since you are apparently a good fighter you should have no trouble." Elfrida told him in an emotionless voice. Her eyes changed back to green, as she surveyed the dead nomads. "This is just the beginning. You have a long journey ahead of you."

Death tore the throat of a nomad out when he saw Wulfe. Growling, with his fur all standing up he prepared to lunge when Wulfe disappeared. "Wait, Elfrida, how do you know that this person's name is Fenlore? It's not right to know someone's name before well... knowing it!" Blacknight gave Death an amused look, and went to stand behind Elfrida. "It doesn't matter Death, let the matter sleep." Blacknight told the wolf, even while she was wondering the same thing.

Fenlore's eyes narrowed as he heard what Elfrida said. He had met elves who knew thing about him before he told them but they knew their manners and not to tell him before he spoke of it.
"My name is Fenlore and my horse is Bree." It was a rough introduction that wasn't really needed but he didn't like the feeling of being known by someone he had never met.
Furious he sheathed his sword and walk over to Bree. He slowly checked every pouch and strap to make sure it was secure while he thought. He needed to address the situation carefully.
Eh what am I to do now. No one is supposed to no of my journey. Orome what is it I am looking for? He thought to himself. And who is this woman?
Fenlore looked up from his saddles with cautious but curious eyes. "A half-breed? Never met another one. I would like to know how you know so much about me. You seemed so clueless before on a few key facts like...well my name for one."

Elfrida looked at Fenlore, and said "I don't know how I know what I do. All I know is that I had a vision of these things." Elfrida mounted Blacknight and added as an after thought, "I suppose I am stuck with you. You had better finish your quest quickly! I wasn't planning on spending the next however long this will take, with you. Why did I have to have the gift of foresight?" Blacknight walked a few steps forward, and Death trotted by her side. "I hope you know what you are doing." Elfrida said. "I am surprised that you have never met any other half-breeds before. We are more common than we used to be. Who are you? Elfrida wondered. Who is hidden behind your name, and face? Then another question came to Elfrida's mind, one that the possible answers made her cringe. Why did I know your name?
"You have a journey before you. Let us set out on it! Elfrida said aloud.

Fenlore sighed but Bree seemed to perk up. Stupid happy horse Fenlore though as he began to mount Bree only to end up hopping along, one foot in the stirrup the other still unable to swing onto Bree's back.
"Fine I’m sorry" Fenlore groaned and swung into the saddle as Bree stopped satisfied and still happy for the company. Fenlore on the other hand wasn't.
Fenlore wasn't happy about traveling with another person, even more so one he did not know. He began to ride off in the direction he had been traveling before he had been delayed.
As Bree walk slowly Fenlore pulled out the letter that Orome had written to him. It read as such:
Fenlore, I write the letter because I have seen my death and know it draws near. With hope the war is over by the time you read this and do not have to do as I ask of you.
But if the war still continues to rage you will need to fight against Galbatorix. I have left you a map I trust you will be able to decipher it for I gave you more than enough knowledge in this field to read it. When you reach the location something awaits you, a trial. Many fears will you face but by the blood of your father and grandfather before him you are more than capable of dealing with it.
Un du evarinya ono varda

Fenlore set the letter in the saddle in front of him, the map was a rough sketch of a consolation of stars. Fenlore knew this consolation, it was his father’s family’s consolation or so he was told.
"Why are you coming with me?" Fenlore said looking up and looked back down, "Truly are there many half-breeds out there?" He hadn't been accepted by humans before and elves accepted many things themselves so he did not know how common "his" kind was. His lack of knowledge on this subjeck embaraced him a bit but his face and tone of voice did not show it.

Blacknight picked up her step, until she was walking with Bree on one side, and Death on the other. Both Blacknight, and Death were happy for other company besides Elfrida--it had been several months since they had any company besides her. Elfrida on the other hand was unhappy about the situation. "If I had a choice, I would be out of here, and not have to be stuck with you." Elfrida said in answer to Fenlore's first question. "And yes, there are many half-bloods in Alagaesia. Most everyone I know is of mixed blood of some kind or another. Do you wish your journey to go pleasant? You don't have to talk. If you don't ask questions, I won't answer, and all will be pleasant, and your journey should go quickly."
Death laughed at Elfrida. "If you don't talk, I will. I certainly won't make this a pleasant journey for either of you." The wolf said. Blacknight looked at Death, and her already forward ears seemed to perk up more. "Tell us about yourself, Fenlore. Since we are traveling together, we ought to learn enough of each other so we do not do something that might offend." The black mare said. Elfrida stiffened on Blacknight's back, and glared at Death, who had a look of pure innocence on his face. Then the wolf asked Elfrida the question she didn't want to answer. "Since we are asking questions of Fenlore we will not spare you. How did you know his name, when you obviously had no clue as to who he was before?" Elfrida felt like giving Blacknight a hard kick in the ribs, and leaving that moment, except she knew the mare would only stop moving until Elfrida apologized. Death looked at her, and Elfrida turned her head to look at the desert in front of them.

Fenlore sighed at what was happening. If these three were truly going to be coming with him on his journey he thought they might hinder his progress with squabble from within. So he began speaking a little of himself.
"I am a half elf and half human. I am son to my father a dragon rider who fought against Galbatorix and my mother who I know nothing of. I was raised by a sorcerer of the name Orome. I was the one who brought his end." Fenlore sighed deeply as he said this. A memory that he wished he could have forgotten.
He shook his head quickly though and spoke not wanting to speak further about himself for fear of his mouth saying what it shouldn’t, "Both Were-cats and Elfs tell what they know in their own time so bother her not for the reasons she knows my name. She will speak of why she knows what she does in due time."
Fenlore wrapped his cloak tighter around him concealing more of his face now. A habit he had picked up from his twenty years of being a bandit.

Elfrida stiffened even more at being defended, and had to force herself to relax her tense muscles. "Interesting, and honorable background." Death said. "I suppose it's a good thing you are not a dragonrider yourself. Elfrida would have a harder time being around you than she is now." Blacknight reached out to Elfrida's mind, and Elfrida let her in, and locked it to all others. Blacknight noticed a change in Elfrida, and felt the hidden darkness of Elfrida's mind. Do not give in to the darkness, even when it tells you who people are. If I were you I would let someone introduce themselves to thwart the plan of ... Darkness. Elfrida trusted the mare, but she didn't want the mare to know every detail of her life, so she locked her mind to Blacknight. The black mare knew of Elfrida's curse, and knew the many secretes that Elfrida preferred to keep hidden, and yet while Elfrida trusted her completely she was afraid of Blacknight, because the mare knew everything about her. Elfrida closed her mind to thought, and simply watched the desert, and making a mental map of it as she had done during her childhood.
Blacknight looked at Fenlore. "Do not blame yourself. Self blame got Elfrida into big trouble, and weakens her ability to do many things. It makes her more accepting of a terrible curse that was placed upon her at birth." She told him. "And will you stop the self pity? You can't change the past." Blacknight spoke the last bit to both Elfrida, and Fenlore, and even with her mind tuned out to all that was being said Elfrida still heard it. This was going to be a long journey!

Fenlore roared with laughter. He had never heard such words spoken to him even by the wise elves. Bree tensed bellow him as a warning to keep his cool. He suppressed his laugh to a chuckle, "Pity? Self pity?" He asked, "I do not pitty myself for killing my master. It was needed at the moment, I regret that events I caused made me bring his death come about but I do not pity myself."
Bree relaxed knowing that the calm voice Fenlore had spoken in was good for Fenlore. Fenlore pondered though on why he spoke to these strangers of the past. It was not their business or their concern. He sighed and let it go.
"Tell me Elfrida what brings you to travel with such wise noble animals?" Fenlore was interested in what he asked but he was only going to make small talk for Bree at that time showed him the view through the mind of a nomad who returned to tend the dead, it wasn't a sight he wanted to see much less be this close to. The nomad’s eyes saw his dead comrades being eaten by what Fenlore could not tell the nomad’s vision was poor.
Thank you friend, watch the situation keep me updated. Fenlore spoke to Bree who complied. They weren't far away from the scene yet just a couple of hills separated their own view and this Fenlore did not like. He wanted more space between him and what was going on back there.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida decided it was no use to have a blank mind. others just kept interrupting her solitude. "It wasn't really my choice." She told Fenlore. "I found Blacknight alone when she was a foal, and Death when he was a cub. They have not left me since those days." Elfrida looked at Death, and said about him, "Death has a sense of humor. You do not want to be the subject of his jokes." She looked up into the sky when she heard the familiar screech of a desert vulture. "Wherever I go I leave death, and grieving behind me. Even if I do not inflict the death blows there is always fighting around me." Elfrida said softly.
Elfrida reached out her mind, and found the desert life nearby, she felt the remaining nomads as they took care of their dead, and said, "There is always a price to pay. It is often higher than most wish, but when it is over the knowing of what death does is often thrown aside, until warriors are willing to kill without a second thought."
Elfrida took her mind away from the nomads, and glanced at Fenlore. "Tell me this one thing please. How many miles do you expect your journey to last? How much time will this take? I would be gone now if it were not for my vision. Is there any way I can make your journey quicker?" Elfrida asked, and turned her head to look across the desert once more.
Blacknight almost stopped moving in surprise when Elfrida spoke, and did momentarily when Elfrida asked a question with a little politeness. It had been a long time since she had heard politeness from Elfrida--but then Elfrida could be polite to anyone, or anything if she wanted to get away from them as quick as possible. Blacknight continued moving as she worked things over in her mind. Elfrida always hated being in the company of two-legs, but never this much. What exactly had she seen in her vision? The black mare wondered.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore sighed, he had a dilemma now, he wasn't sure if these three could be trusted at all and he had no desire to show them the letter. But he wasn't sure if he had a choice in the matter. He knew the visions of were-cats, he studied them along with many other subjects under his master, and how they had an odd way of coming true, even if you resisted.
Bree nickered lightly and sent out a mental image of the letter. "Fine. Have your way." He whispered to Bree in the ancient language. But you will not hear the end of this if this turns out to be the wrong choice. He added with his mind.
Hesitating Fenlore offered the letter over to Elfrida. "My master gave me this letter a few weeks before he died. I was told not to open it till recently. The consolation of stars is our map along with a spell that I swore to remember in the ancient language. I am....unable to say it out loud....but as for how long this will take, I do not know. For what I search for is not supposed to be found by any but a dragon rider trusted by my father’s father." Fenlore shook his head and added, "Or so my master told me."

Elfrida slowly, and uncertainly took the letter. "Are you sure you want me to read this?" She asked. "I could be a spy, or servant of Galbatorix for all you know. I could be anybody, or anything with evil intentions." Then Elfrida added in the ancient language. "But I'm I am not here to hurt, or destroy you." She looked at the letter, and handed it back. "You have a heavy weight on your shoulders. I believe your master was wrong. I will help you to the best of my abilities. Lead on."

OOC: sorry for it being so short, but I have to go to bed or get in trouble.

Fenlore shook his head; he did not know what she meant. His master was wrong? If so he though, it would be a first time that he knew of. He took the letter back and returned it to his cloak.
“My master was very wise it is doubtful he was wrong. But I guess we will see.” Fenlore shook his head and laughed for a second. “As for you being a spy showing you the letter does you little good.”
Fenlore sighed, the feeling the spell was giving him was getting stronger all of the sudden but as if it were pushing him back. It was as if some unseen person was fighting to have him fall back and retreat.
Bree stiffened under Fenlore and came to a stop. Fenlore stiffened also power filled the air, raw pure power. One of strength that he had never felt before. As he looked around to see what was going on the sand around them seemed to rise on all sides. The sand moved and began to encase them Fenlore wasn’t sure what was happening. The power needed to move this amount of sand was unknown to him, and for a moment he felt fear in the back of his mind. He dwelt not on it though for he had not the time to dwell. The sand began to collapse down on them. Quickly Fenlore dismounted and unsheathed his sword. He stabbed it down into the sand and released power through it. He did not bother to form magic with words it would be to lengthy. But what he wanted still managed to take effect. Sand directly around them rose and hardened into a dome. As he felt the sand impact the dome his strength dropped greatly. The power that wielded the sand on the outside was far beyond his strength.

"Only time will tell." Elfrida said. "Everyone I know has been wrong at some point in time or another." Elfrida looked around uneasily, something seemed to be wrong.
Blacknight went stiff, and for a quick moment Death looked at Elfrida. The only one he'd ever known to use sand in such a way was Elfrida, but he knew she hadn't done it this time. Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "Release your magic." she said, creating a shield of air around them. "Do not wear yourself out. Your strength is not mine apparently. I can use this magic without it taking energy, so please release. You cannot complete your journey dead." Elfrida made the shield of air darken to black blacker than the darkest night, and created a sand melting sunburst to go on the outside. after allowing the sunburst to dissipate she took away the dark coloring from the air shield, allowing light to enter again. "Do you know who is trying to hinder you?" she asked Fenlore, ready to strike out with more magic. Elfrida's eyes sparkled dangerously as she thought about more attacks, and the blood that would be spilled. Elfrida blinked, and her eyes lost their bloodlust. Where did that come from? she wondered briefly. When she remembered she searched her mind to find the darkness within herself, and try to cast it out, with no success. Elfrida stopped, and felt for the presence of others in the quiet--too quiet for even the Hadarac--desert

Fenlore released the magic, he didn’t like the fact that Elfrida seemed to look down on his ability, from what he thought.
He couldn't dwell on the fact though, a presence enter his mind. It said no words and no amount of mental walls he threw up could deter the presence.
"Son of Fen!" A voice roared, Fenlore was unable to figure if the voice was in his head or if he heard it. "Half-Breeds prove your worth to me!"
The presence disappeared from his mind and he found himself kneeling on the sandy ground. His instinct told him to run but the spell he had in effect told him to stay.
Again the sand around them seemed to come alive again and it had changed from before, each grain looked to be small diamonds. Energy emanated from every little speck. The small specks of Diamond become shards and they compacted and grew into different parts of a sphere that hovered above them. The huge chunks of diamond closed around them fast forming an encasement that pulsed with power that held it together. The power seemed to have increased from last time when it had controlled the sand before.
Fenlore let him mind explore what was going on. There was one overwhelming presence he could feel it was mysterious, ancient, and fierce and above all vast, like no other living thing he had ever felt.
Fenlore re-sheathed his sword and stood next to Bree. The diamond sphere began to sink into the desert sand. “It’s amazing.” He breathed speaking of the vast mind behind the power.

Blacknight reared in surprise, and for once Elfrida fell off. Elfrida quickly rolled to her feet and looked around. She felt the presence of one with might nearly beyond any she had ever felt, she remounted Blacknight, who stood stiff-legged, with her nostrils flaring. Death's fur was all standing up, and he looked ready to dig a hole, and bury himself in it. Elfrida allowed the darkness of her mind to take a strong hold, before realizing what she was doing, but she wasn't about to lose the extra power it gave her. "Who, or what is that?" Elfrida asked. "It is almost as powerful as..." Elfrida stopped herself from speaking of the one she feared above all. Any who admitted meeting the One she had nearly mentioned were not likely to live long after. "Why are we standing here?" Death asked. "Let's run while we still have legs." but while saying that he hunched down as if he would never move again. Blacknight looked at the encasement. "How do we get out?" she asked, to point out to the wolf that they were surrounded by a hard wall

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore sighed, he had never felt this vast of a mind before. He had once fought Galbatorix and even that evil king could not match this.
"I do not know who this is. Or what." Fenlore paused and pressed his hand against the wall of the sphere. The energy in that spot intensified but did not harm him. "But I can tell you that this power is not Galbatorix. I have fought him once, he was strong enough to play with me and several dragons and their riders. Though this energy is not the same as his. This is...well pure? Seems like the best way to describe it."
Fenlore moved back to Bree's side and retrieved his spear.
"Prove our worth?" He questioned out loud. "To many possibilities, to many unknowns." He muttered, the situation was grim and even though odd would not be bad in most cases he still did not like them. Light struck the bottom up the Sphere, all shade of colors reflected through the Diamond. As Fenlore’s eyes adjusted he saw outside of the swirling energy in the Diamond. It seemed they were in a huge cave or something of the sort for it was hard for Fenlore to see what was outside of the sphere.

OOC: I didn't get back as late as I expected.

"Not evil in any way." Elfrida said wonderingly. "Nothing can be pure if there is any evil in it." Elfrida unconsciously leaned a little back, towards the center to be further away from the surrounding dome. The Darkness within her seemed to shrink back even further at the thought of one who may not be evil, and have so much power.
Death stood up when everything changed and asked "Where are we?"
Blacknight felt Elfrida shrink back a little, and took a few steps closer to the wall, rather than the center. Elfrida dismounted, and walked to the center, looking around. "What is happening?" Elfrida asked quietly. Wherever she looked she saw vision, after vision. Through Blacknight's and Death's eyes Elfrida could see what appeared to be a cave, but all that met her eyes were visions. Elfrida closed her eyes to block out the numberless visions, but to no avail. Elfrida reopened her eyes, and the visions left. Elfrida fell to her knees, exhausted by the number of visions she had received. If Elfrida had had even a little strength left she would have cursed everyone, and everything she had ever met, as all her visions were of them. Elfrida stood using magic, but even though her magic required no energy she was too exhausted to use it, and fell to her knees again. "I cannot bear all the burdens of the world alone." She managed to gasp out.

OOC: I don't care if Fenlore ignores her. He doesn't have to notice her in the least. So don't let her be a block to your turn.

Fenlore looked at Death as the wolf spoke. "I would hope this would be our destination." Fenlore was moving to the wall again when he saw Elfrida collapsed, he moved quickly resting his spear against Bree, who wasn't happy with that. Fenlore knelt next to Elfrida.
"Burdens?" He questioned, not sure what was exactly happening. But he was sure on one thing Elfrida wasn't alone. "I know not of your burdens but from what I can see you are not alone."
Fenlore looked from Death to Blacknight, and then added in the ancient language, "I shall ease the burden if you except my help. For I may need your help soon." He did his best to look Elfrida in the eyes while speaking but one word played in his mind but made no sense to say at this time. Sill he spoke it, "Wyrda" The word seemed to hang in the air, as if it were a whispered echo.

Elfrida shivered when Fenlore said the word 'Wyrda'. He couldn't know what it was part of. Elfrida did her best to look Fenlore in the eye, and though she wasn't able to speak at the moment--not even with her mind--she used her eyes to try to show Fenlore the pain of the wyrda of her own self, and many others she bore. How can you help me with this burden? She finally managed to tell him with her mind. Wyrda -Elfrida shivered at the word, even if it had not been spoken aloud- In what way do you think you will need my help? I who am helpless now. Elfrida put a hand to her head as she felt around for something she could draw strength from. Blacknight offered her own strength, and made Elfrida take some, although Elfrida refused to take more than enough to allow her to speak, and use her mind freely. A short memory of one vision came to Elfrida. The vision she had had when they had first met, when she learned of Fenlore's name and journey. "I will help you not because you say you will help me. I will help you because my wyrda commands it." Elfrida said. "From now on things only get harder. The challenges begin now." Elfrida then remembered how low she was on energy, and that she could be of no help yet. "The littlest things of life are always the most annoying." she said.

OOC: It's okay. I just thought you might have different plans for him.

Fenlore sighed, thing were going to get harder from here, this he knew but he didn't need his companion in a weakened state. He stood unsheathed his sword and stabbed it into the diamond. The energy could not stop the sword of a dragon rider but the hardness of the stone itself did sope it from penetrating all the way through.
Fenlore knelt next to Elfrida and placed her hand on the jewel in the hilt of the sword.
"Take what you need for there is plenty to spare within the jewel. For long have I stored energy in that jewel use it to help."
Fenlore looked away from Elfrida but did not remove his hand. He wasn't going to get a no from her. As he looked out at the Diamond he saw that it wasn't a cave but a giant cavern and that soon they would reach the floor and the hard part was going to begin.

Elfrida flinched when Fenlore placed her hand on his sword hilt, and finally hesitantly took energy. "I hope you won't regret this later." she said in an emotionless voice. Blacknight looked at Elfrida, and said softly "Elfrida has never liked other two-legs that I can recall. They have only brought her more burdens." Elfrida now had enough strength to use magic, and enough to stand. She pulled her hand away--using magic to help her as she doubted she was quite that strong--and stood. "Why do you help me?" she asked. "You could have made me drain my companions to death to help you. I would have if I had to because of my vision. But then you probably could not know that. You have not lived enslaved by visions for nearly your whole life as I have." Elfrida looked at the walls, and through them. "I am almost sorry that I reentered the Hadarac, to be enslaved again by a vision. Your journey could end up leading me to yet another vision to enslave me." Elfrida looked at what appeared to be a cavern. She had not been in a place like this in a long while, and it reminded her of another vision for the future. The vision of her horse and wolf companions leaving for various reasons. Elfrida truly felt as if all the world's burdens were resting on her shoulders. For now.

OOC: okay. Sorry Elfrida has to use so many words in this one. She isn't really a talker, but she likes to learn new things, and assumes others do too.

Fenlore sheathed pulled his sword out of the hard Diamond and stepped to beside Elfrida. He could tell that she was under an immense amount of pressure from her "gift".
"Everyone is a slave to something in their life. You are a slave to your gift and I am a slave to..." Fenlore spoke in the ancient language and as he went to speak the word situations it got caught in his throat, he pondered for a few seconds and settled on, "My blood. As we are all slaves to something often we cannot handle the burden of what we are tied to." He shook his head slightly, "To put is simply you looked like you could use some help. And if I were to ignore this then I am no better then who I fight."

A few second later the sphere hit the ground and the diamond pulsed grew brighter and blinding Fenlore temporarily. He felt for the wall of diamond but it was not there. As his eyes adjusted he loked around and saw that the cavern was well lit by what he did not know for he did not try to search out with his mind for the fear of the ones mind he had felt earlier.

Occ: i'll finish the discription of what the cavern looks like in my next post^^

"I hate my enslavement, but the day I am free of it will make the world curse me, as I was so long ago. I do not know which to hate more. My gift, or my curse." Elfrida said, while looking at the diamonds, wondering when they would leave. "You do not have to be a slave to your blood. It is a free choice. Whatever has happened Burn the past and be free of it. The past is not the future."
Elfrida finished speaking, just as the sphere reached the ground, and the diamonds grew brighter. She knew the others were probably blinded for a short while by the light, but her eyes were protected by transforming into a large golden cat. When the diamonds disappeared she changed back into her previous form and looked around. the lighting appeared to be unnatural, but that wasn't what interested Elfrida. "Are you sure your master is completely dead?" she asked. "I very much doubt that someone who knows little, or none about you would do this service for you."

Elfrida struck a nerve. He was now brought back to that time. His eyes could see now. The sword he held in this hand was covered in the blood of his master. His master’s eyes were blacker then night as he looked into them. His blood covered blade was thrust clean through his master’s chest. Blood flowed from the wound onto him, he couldn't move. Fear gripped him, fear and sorrow.
He dropped his sword and it fell to the ground with a loud echoing crash. The noise snapped Fenlore back to the present partly as he stared at his hands. "No, my blade pierced his heart he could not have live." His voice had lost all confidence; the thought of his master being alive was enough to bring him to his knees if his pride would let him fall. He looked around not wanting to pick up his sword and ignoring it completely.
He looked around the cavern was huge one end fell into darkness far off but the end they stood on was bright, the energy he had felt in the Diamond ore seemed to fill the air. At the closest wall there was a monumental statue of a huge gold dragon. At first Fenlore took it to be real but denounced that idea when he saw a monument in front of the statue.

Occ: well lets see where we can take it from here, shall we add some action soon?

Elfrida looked at Fenlore and said "I have had a blade pierce my heart and I still live. Many times it takes more than a sword thrust through the heart to kill." Elfrida looked around the cavern again. Something seemed to be in the shadows. Someone was a better description. Did I send Wulfe here? or is it someone else? she wondered absently. She glanced at everything thing else quickly, but her eyes kept returning to the shadows.
When Fenlore ignored his sword, and started looking at what appeared to be a statue Elfrida walked over, and picked it up. "You are about to need this." she said "We have company lurking in the shadows. Take it." Elfrida's voice was kind, but it was also commanding. She offered the hilt to him, hoping he forget what was past. "No matter how hard it is, Burn the past, be free of it. Do not allow it to dictate your future."

Death and Blacknight look in wonderment at all that was around them. Death sniffed the air, and his fur stood on end. Blacknight flared her nostrils when she smelled the same scent. Something is wrong here. she told the wolf. Something is very wrong.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore grasped the sword take it from Elfrida and sheathed it. He had no desire to wield the blade at the moment. He detested the act he had committed with the blade and could not help but detest it along with himself.
He looked back at the statue and for a second he thought he was seeing things but a swirl of green and maroon now colored the dragon. Something else was different now also he could see a much smaller dragon statue standing next to that one, the strange colors effected it also.
Before Fenlore could speak a two massive roars broke out from the dark side of the cavern.
"That doesn't sound good....." he said aloud.
Fenlore's face went pale as he saw two dragons. One larger than the other like the statues, the smaller one was green and the larger was maroon. On top of the dragons sat a rider each, both clad in bright elvish ring mail and wielding swords that looked similar to his in all but color.
Bree nicked and took his place beside Fenlore. Only the horse’s presence brought Fenlore out of his trance of fear. He grasped his spear and mounted Fenlore.
"I don't know what’s going on." He whispered lightly.
"We have told you...." Boomed a mighty male voice in the air.
"that you are to be tested...." fallowed more musical but commanding male voice.
"Now be prepared....” spoke a fierce female voice.
"to prove your worth to us...." Finish a softer much kinder but stern voice.
Fenlore watched as where the dragons appeared began to shine brighter and brighter filling the darkness with light. Moving quickly Fenlore unstrapped his bow from Bree's saddle and began to loosen arrows at the two dragons and their riders.
His own actions caught him off guard for he normally did not attack unless attacked. But the attack did not last long for the same diamond that had incased them before shot up from the ground engulfing Fenlore's bow.
"Good skill...." The larger male voice boomed.
"But we desire to test you two another way." the fierce female voice spoke.
The flash of light seemed to reach its panicle forcing Fenlore to look away closing his eyes. When he opened them, he found himself on the other side of the cavern the huge maroon dragon looming over him.
"We will be the ones to test you." spoke both male voices at once.
Fenlore reached out for Bree's mind and found the horse was being held by magic unmoving but through the horses eyes he saw that the small green dragon was now where he and Bree had once been challenging Elfrida.

Occ: okay the other 2 are in your control cause right now we sorta are separated….lets see where this goes for now^^

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida looked around the cavern with slight uncertainty. Something was wrong here. She closed her eyes and concentrated on the darkness within her. When she opened them again there were two dragons. Elfrida put her hand to her scar, and pulled her finger through it. Blood streamed down her face and boldness entered her. Even though Elfrida had lost her ability to use sword or bow, she knew she could prove herself a mighty warrior.
Blacknight and Death came to stand by Elfrida, and Elfrida could feel the fear they possessed. Elfrida put a hand on each of them and said softly to them, "Lose yourselves in your minds, and give me strength. Let your fear depart." The two nodded once, and did as Elfrida had told them.
Elfrida removed her hands, and created a sunburst, but instead of casting it at the pair of dragons she cast it directly in the air. It dissolved into dark bolts of energy to be cast at them. Before the dark bolts reached the ones who had just shown themselves they dissipated.
When the light reached it's brightest Elfrida looked at it, while feeling the pain her two animal companions had from the light. "Test me in whatever way pleases you." Elfrida told the green dragon and rider who remained. At that moment Elfrida had a vision, one she knew that was from the testers. A vision not of what was to come, but of something that might be. Elfrida thought it was the heaviest vision she had ever had.

Ic: Fenlore took a deep breath and jumped away from the dragon trying to run around it. He kept his eyes on the dragon who had not moved. He felt as if he was forgetting something now. And from the corner of his eye he spotted the other rider swing his sword toward Fenlores torso.
My wards will protect me. They will stop his blade The blade bit into Fenlore's chest cutting through his wards as if they weren't there. He coughed up blood as he swung his spear for the rider’s throat forcing him to retreat.
Gasping Fenlore grasped for magic that escaped him. His mind to jumbled to concentrate on getting the needed energy.
He stumbled back and used his spear to support himself. As the spear struck the ground though like his bow it was engulfed in diamond. Fenlore threw himself away from the spear and reach for his sword but stopped himself.
He stood his face becoming set. He place his right hand over his wound and it began to glow silver. The wound sealed quickly on the surface but on the inside he only healed his lung. The task drained him greatly and the dragon and rider watched making no move.
He then looked through Bree's eyes to see how Elfrida was fairing.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Sweat poured down Elfrida's forehead as vision after vision came. None were as hard to bear as the first, and many she knew were false. But the last one was a true vision. She knew it was because she had had it before this day. She hated being reminded that death would claim her wolf friend soon--or rather complete death. His body had already died once, but his spirit had been rescued. Yet still to Elfrida the first vision was hardest to bear, even when she very much doubted if it was true.
"Enough." Elfrida said said in a soft, dangerous voice. "I will not let you turn my gift against me." The rider on the green dragon looked at her. "It will not be enough until I say it is." the rider said. More visions threatened to enter Elfrida's head, but she blocked them out completely. "Very good." The rider said. "Now it is enough." The false visions didn't stop attacking, but Elfrida had them completely hidden from her mind. Elfrida could now only see the true visions, but those were all behind a cloud.
Then came the next test. Suddenly Elfrida felt the pain of a sword cutting her chest--no, not her chest, and not her pain. Fenlore's. The pain came as a surprise, but Elfrida did not allow it to rule. She felt Fenlore's drop in energy when he healed himself, and quickly gave him some of Blacknight's, and Death's. Elfrida fell to her knees as something struck her on the back. She felt Death lunge for the throat of the rider, she felt the spear enter his heart. She struggled to her feet and turned to heal the wolf, only to be encased in one of the diamonds. Elfrida burst the diamond with a magic she had never used before, and moved to heal the wolf. Elfrida knew it was too late the moment she glanced at the wolf. One vision was fulfilled. "It was good to know all of you." the wolf said as he poured his remaining energy into Elfrida and Blacknight, and died. Elfrida glared at the rider, and very nearly buried herself in the darkness of her mind. "Now we begin." Elfrida said, throwing a sunburst at the rider, even when she knew it would dissipate immediately.

Fenlore accepted the energy from Elfrida gratefully but when he felt the flame of Deaths life end.
Forgive me... He said to Elfrida with his mind. He feared not the death of this enemys or himself but when death took a comrade he felt responsible and this time he was.
He quickly unsheathed his sword and concentrated on a spell that Orome had taught him long ago. Light engulfed him and he disappeared only to reappear above the dragon where the riders stood. The spell had worn him down but the distance was small so he still had energy. He slashed at the rider’s neck but the rider retreated. Quickly he adjusted his blade so that he would stab down into the dragons spine. It worked but no blood came from the wound instead he felt the same flow of energy that he felt throughout the whole cavern.
Quickly he leapt back as the rider stuck; he rolled down the spine of the dragon till he caught a spike stopping himself. He quickly reached to his quill of arrows and threw three with surprising accuracy at the rider. Fenlore leapt from the dragons back toward Elfrida his cloak gone now and the light shined off of his blood stained elven armor.

Elfrida's eyes glowed red, and she changed into the only thing she could think of that could slice a throat. Elfrida lunged as a large golden cat, claws outstretched, and felt it tear through dragon flesh. Elfrida immediately changed back to her previous form, and used a dark sunburst to cast into the rider. It exploded, and Elfrida smiled grimly at the damage it did.
Meanwhile Blacknight grieved the final loss of one of her closest friends, and companion since his birth, while at the same time giving her energy. That was all she could do. Vengeance belonged to Elfrida.
Elfrida created many more things of darkness, and wounded the dragon, and rider to the best of her ability. When she finally realized what Fenlore had said she replied to him, It is no fault of yours. I lay the fault at the feet of these Testers, and their feet alone.
Elfrida jumped back at a warning from Blacknight, as a blade swung very close to her neck. Then the green dragon swung it's head in a way that threw Elfrida ten feet across the room. It's rider dismounted near her, and did a down stab that caught Elfrida in the arm, as she had been rolling away from the blow. The dragon laid it's claws on Elfrida to keep her from moving as the rider pulled the sword from her arm. Elfrida closed her eyes, and teleported to three feet away. She rose to her knees, but when she looked up it was into the eyes of the rider, who kicked Elfrida in the stomach, leaving her winded, on her knees, and coughing, as the rider once again lifted it's sword. Blacknight reared, and whinnied angrily she would not lose two friends in one day, but she discovered she was held in place by magic.

Occ: I liked Death... :( makes me sad... I'm not a fan of good characters dying....

Ic: As Fenlore landed on the ground he sprinted for Elfrida, he could feel the other two bearing down on his back but he had to do something.
Do not give up. Do not! His mind screamed no longer bothering with mental barriers. He felt Bree's mind enter his and an enormous amount of strength came from the horse. But it wasn't much compared to what had already been used.
As Fenlore approached Elfrida's position he slashed a long wide slash at the riders chest fallowing the momentum regardless of his attack his he turned to the other pair who seemed to leisure their way over.
"Reisa!" He barked and felt and his energy drained to nothing almost immediately. He felt Bree tremble within his mind before the horse passed out. Fenlore released the magic knowing that it was all for nothing now. He collapsed to his knees beside Elfrida. He held his sword off the ground keeping it as ready as his worn body could.
"Good." Said the deep loud voice of the dragon, or so Fenlore thought.
"you care much for those around you Fenlore..." The other male voice said.

Occ: I do have a plan on where to take this but my intention was not an epic battle just yet, save that for Wulfe xP

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida knew she could not die yet. She had had visions of life beyond this day, and if there was nothing else she still had a curse to prevent her death.
Elfrida looked up when she felt an extreme drop in energy. Her eyes first went to Bree, because of hie lesser amount of energy, and she allowed some to flow through her into the horse to preserve his life. Still the feeling of extreme fatigue pressed on Elfrida's mind, then she noticed Fenlore. Elfrida gave him as much as she dared, which was very little by now. Blacknight stood, head down, with a look of pure weariness, and Elfrida knew that attempting to stand would meet with failure.
For a moment Elfrida could hear nothing, except the echos of the darkness in her mind, then a voice spoke in her head. You did better than was expected of you. a female voice said in her head. She lifted her eyes to meet the riders gaze who she was sure had been wounded badly, but now Elfrida saw no wounds. You have given your energy willingly, and have borne the physical pain and fatigue of others. The green dragon said. Are you more caring than you appear to be? Elfrida didn't know which of them asked the last question but she ignored it.
When the presences left her mind Elfrida thought to herself, Battles are different. I have no reason to be kind outside of battles. Although she knew that she was lying to herself.

OOC: Death is one of my favorite characters even if he is only an animal companion, and I didn't really want to kill him, so yes his body is, and he can't reenter it like he did before in an uncompleted RP, but his spirit didn't cross the void, and he's sticking around.
Okay about the battle. I'll be happy to keep Elfrida from continuing in battle mode.

Fenlore growled at their comments. He saw one die today, one he had just met. It was something that he wouldn't let rest so easily.
"What is the point to this? It was not necessary to drive one of us to death just to test us!" Fenlore spoke as loudly as he could but after a competition of strength that he had just gotten into he had little energy to show is burning emotions in his voice.
"We did not wish for death." Spoke the deep male voice.
"Let go and move on for we approve of you all." The second male voice said. Fenlore felt Bree's body drop as the magic that had been hold the horse in place was released.
"And you two worked together is that not something that you would have avoided." Both voices spoke and then the Huge dragon and its riders fells into the ground as if they were water running down a stream.

The rider and dragon pair who had tested Elfrida spoke one last thing to her before they too 'melted' into the ground. As they did Death's body seemed to burn, and Elfrida knew for certain that she could not resurrect it. Blacknight moved slowly and wearily toward Elfrida, and laid her head on her friends shoulder. "Why?" she asked. "Elfrida looked up. "I do not know. All I knew was that he would eventually die."
Elfrida blinked when she saw something familiar. Can it be? She smiled as the wolf spirit became more visible and solid. "So you still live my friend." she managed a smile, though she knew things were only beginning to be hard. "I will not die completely on you! I will put myself to use by cheering spirits, and scouting." Death said. Blacknight nickered a greeting. "So not everything turned out bad after all." She said. Elfrida echoed the mare, "Not everything. Thank you Fenlore." Elfrida was surprised that she had thanked him. She usually tried to make people hate her. Well she could be polite at the same time, she decided. "Do you know what those were?" She asked him.

Fenlore sighed and looked at Elfrida with pained eyes. She should not be thanking him was all he thought but he mumbled, "Your Welcome." He struggled to his feet and sheathed his sword. He looked over at Bree and explored the horses mind. "Good, he is okay. Rest friend." He looked over at the other two or three rather.
"Death." He said bowing his head in apology and respect for his actions. Then he turned his attention to Elfrida. His were eyes soft, as he offered her his hand to assist her in getting to her feet.
"I do not know what they are but I have been feeling this energy for a while, I believe its origin if over by those statues." Fenlore glanced away from Elfrida to the statues and back to her. "Though I loathe going over there. I feel we mush if we ever desire to leave this place."

Elfrida looked at the hand Fenlore offered her. Elfrida accepted his help hesitantly, and quickly released her hold on his hand, and walked slowly toward the statues, after once again thanking Fenlore. She hated being in debt to anyone.
Blacknight looked at Elfrida's back. "Pain fades slowly." Blacknight said. "She is afraid to make new friends since... Two elves disappeared and left her and two other mixed breeds to the wrath of the Varden who falsely accused them of making them disappear. She has done her best to keep away from others as much as possible." The mare followed her friend with Death's spirit.
Death smiled the best he could to Fenlore. "You are an excellent fighter, friend." and quickly sped up to be beside Elfrida who was now beside the statues, staring up at them.

Fenlore fallowed he wasn't sure what to think of Elfrida's actions as of yet. He himself wasn't sure of what to think of this whole situation. He passed by where Elfrida was walking toward the most front part of the dragons’ statue. He wanted to get a look at the smaller monument that stood in front of the beasts. When he approached it he saw that main part of it was a huge crystal looking orb. It was about 10ft long by 10ft high. The crystal was like nothing Fenlore had ever seen before. Green and Maroon ran through it swirling and dancing together. In front of the crystal two swords, the same swords the riders who had just fought them were imbedded into stone and between those stone a spot for another sword that lay empty.
Fenlore reached out to touch the crystal and when he did he felt the mind or the presence that had been controlling this whole situation. He wasn't sure what to think of it he had never seen anything like this before.
"Elfrida, do you know what this is?" Fenlore felt the mind but he could not enter it, he feared to even touch it. "I have never seen anything like this."

Blacknight, and Death's spirit went over to where Fenlore was much faster than Elfrida, and they did it slowly. Elfrida glanced away from the statues to Fenlore. "I know what it is not, that is why I avoided going over there." she said. "It is not Evil, or darkness." The last bit she said softly. "Do you know for certain what it is? I only have a partial idea. Maybe it matches yours. I can hear spirits whispering in this room. The spirits of vision."
Elfrida finally went to where Fenlore was and noticed the missing sword, but did not speak of it. "I have seen this place before. In a dream. Or the dream of a dream. But still a dream. I know what must be done, but you must do it without me telling you." Elfrida whispered a few words of the ancient language, while touching the orb. "A mind so vast does not belong where it cannot share knowledge. But that was it's own choice. Now, make yours Fenlore." Elfrida said, taking her hand away from the orb. She watched him out of the corner of her eye to see what he would do, but her main focus was on the orb, and the words echoing in her head.

OOC: Finally finished editing Elfrida's bio. I hope. I did awful when I first made her. I think it's easier to read now that I edited it.

Fenlore looked at Elfrida with confused eyes. He wasn't sure what to do. He looked back at the orb, it continually shimmered a dance of colors. He looked down at the swords. They were riders swords, one was maroon matching the bigger of the dragon statues it was shaped much like his own sword, the other was green and the shape was that of a shorter blade and single handed sword.
He stared for a while at the empty spot and said, "It would never fit." But never the less he unsheathed his sword and placed it down within the empty spot.
The orb flared, as the eyes of the dragon statues lit up. Before Fenlore could react the statues had moved and encased Elfrida, Death, Blacknight, and him making enough room so the dragon’s heads could move around.
"Whats going on?" He asked aloud in the ancient language his grip already reaching to where is sword would normally be.
The orb pulsed brightly, the dragons head moved and one by one each seemed to exhale onto the four of them and when they came to Fenlore he felt energy a great amount enter his body, any sort of weariness that had before was gone now.

Greetings, Blacknight the swift. Death the enduring. A voice rumbled through Fenlores mind brushing aside all of his defenses. And greetings to you Elfrida the seer and sister of Wulfe you’re your betrayer. Final greetings to you Fenlore son of the my riders son.
Fenlore was speechless, this voice was implying that it was a dragon and it seemed to know much. He looked to Elfrida to see what she would say.

Occ:I'll let you react xP

Blacknight shifted her feet when statues enclosed them, and looked around at them. When she lost her fatigue she knew nothing bad was going to happen and stood still looking at the orb.
Death returned the greeting, and watched all that was going on around him finding it interesting.
Elfrida smiled when she saw Fenlore unsheathe his sword and place it in the empty spot. She had almost been afraid that he wouldn't do it. The whole time while the statues encased them Elfrida's eyes never left the orb. She knew it would speak soon, as spirits of vision had told her before they left the room. Elfrida was surprised by the energy given from breathing of the dragons, but kept herself from showing it.
When the orb spoke Elfrida responded in the ancient language. "Greetings dragon, mighty in life, and now one of the mighty in wisdom in form of eldunari." Elfrida then realized that Fenlore was speechless, and seemed to be having a hard time believing the orb to be a dragon. "Do you not know of the eldunari?" she asked him. "Surly your master must have told you about them at one point or another." Elfrida looked back at the orb, "Life in death, Wisdom unending, The dragon's heart of hearts, Eldunari." Elfrida said the words her master had taught her so many years before to help her remember what the eldunari truly were, and that they were to be respected. Elfrida's hate for her brother was rekindled, but she ignored it. "You did not expect to meet one who was alive, did you?" she asked Fenlore.

OOC: If it's not really an eldunari then I will edit. I like it when things are obvious :) (i.e the sword thing)

Fenlore looked at Elfrida, his mind had processed what he had said but he knew nothing of what she spoke of.
"A dragons heart of hearts? My master never spoke of such a thing." He asked his eye brows creasing in thought.
YES! But we are not one dragon. The voice boomed in his head again.
We are two. The voice spoke again but it was different this time, like one of the female voices that spoke before.
Our riders were mates and we grew to be mates. Both of us were forced to retreat into our eldunari. But my mates was damaged to the point where she would die soon. Our riders pooled their knoledge of the aincient language and mecanics of magic to creat such a spell that would merge both of our eldunari without us losing our identities. The spell was a sucess but the cost was great, both of our riders lost their lives then. Fenlore your fathers parents died to keep us alive. The male voice finished, his thoughts viberating through his mind.
Fenlore felt the vast mind around him it was in perfect synce like a sing mind. Not two but one, he was still young and knew little compared to many in magic but was such a spell even possible.

Elfrida was focusing on the Eldunari, but allowed her attention to wander when Fenlore said he hadn't been spoken to of the eldunari. "You are about as ignorant as my younger brothers--well two who are like younger brothers--were when I first met them. Only they were ignorant in other things, not this." Elfrida said. "Then again it is usually only riders who are informed of eldunari, and not until they have been riders for a long time." Elfrida focused on the eldunari again when it--they started speaking.
"Some spells are not meant to be used." Elfrida said. She had used many spells, and broken many rules in magic, and had done what others thought impossible, but because her magic required no energy, and she rarely used words with it, those who tried the same spell often died, or were fatigued for a long time afterward. "That was one of them. But if the riders were willing to die then it was worth it." Elfrida said while going over the many uses of magic in her head.

Fenlore sighed at what Elfrida said to him, she was right he was ignorant in the ways of magic. He knew many complicated forms of magic but his education had been short.
You know much Seer. Said one of the voices. But the banter of words is not why we have brought you here. We swore to your father Fenlore that we would use our power to give you a blessing that no words can give. The two statues heads moved till they separated Blacknight and Death from Fenlore and Elfrida. The small of the two was facing Elfrida while the other faced Fenlore.
"And what type of blessing will be given?" Fenlore said unsure, he didn't know if he wanted a blessing that was predetermined so many years ago for him.
And we were also told to bless the one who came here by Fenlore side for we were told by Fenlore mother that "she would be one with darkness within her mind." The dragons ignored Fenlores question.

Elfrida what the blessing would be, but did not ask aloud as Fenlore had. The only blessings I have received are curses. Why should this one be different? Elfrida wondered. Elfrida looked at the eldunari of the dragons combined. For some reason she remembered what she had been taught about sharing a body being a defilement. Elfrida told herself that this was different, and eldunari were not bodies. It still seemed the same. That is why combining was made one of the forbidden spells. Elfrida thought.
Elfrida blinked when the dragons had said something about her being one with darkness in her mind as was foretold. If any knew the true amount of darkness then she knew she would be hunted by more than she was already. "If a blessing must be given then it must. It does not matter what the blessing is." Elfrida said to Fenlore. "If you hate it you deal with it after." Elfrida had learned that lesson long ago, and had learned the consequences of resisting blessings before they were given. Especially if the 'blessing' is the curse of Darkness. Elfrida thought making her face completely expressionless. No matter how bad--or even good--the blessing was Elfrida was prepared for it.

Fenlore looked at Elfrida his interest in her past rising but he couldn't dwell on that the dragons roared through his mind and the statues heads moved to one in front of him the other behind.
Fenlore you have yet family left. She has been alone for long now. She was bound and her bond was shattered. We have been tasked to renew the bond. The Eldunari pulsed and the two colors seemed to brighten. The eyes of the statues flashed and each tip of the nose on the statue touched Fenlores head. It felt as if someone poured molten metal into Fenlore mind the mind of the Eldunari entered completely into his mind filling it. He gasped in pain but before he could call out in pain his mind was taken from him. The dragons did not tamper with any memories within his mind, they did not even move a muscle of his but they seemed to plant something into his mind, something foreign but not necessarily bad. As the mind of the dragons left his he collapsed to the ground his eyes shut as he returned to his mind.
The statues moved and surround Elfrida in a similar fashion but not as close giving her room to move. Elfrida, long and hard we thought on a blessing for one with darkness. Light was our first thought but light could destroy darkness and destroy who you are. We do not desire to destroy the mind of a fried on our riders kin. Tell us what would come to be if we blessed you with a mind filled with light.

Occ:im not sure on what type of blessing for elfrida so because you know her best I leave that to you.^^

"Light would destroy me." Elfrida said. "Darkness would fill me completely, and I would no longer exist, but darkness would exist in my form and become so powerful that the world would fall to it quickly after. I would rather be cursed than endanger the world in this manner a thousand times." Elfrida's mind showed her all that would happen if she received the blessing, and the darkness within her seemed to grow, and urge her to accept that blessing.
Elfrida shivered, and thought a moment. When she spoke again it was where only the eldunari could hear. The only blessing I desire is to bear others burdens more effectively when I bear them. To take the brunt their pain as my own, and their fatigue. I would rather take killing pain upon myself than upon the one who is to receive it. Even when the burden is heavier, I would make it heavier for the sakes of others. As I said, I desire no other blessing than the one I have requested. Elfrida wondered how the eldunari dragons would react, and wondered if she would receive what she asked.

Fenlore struggles to his feet slowly as he heard what Elfrida said. His mind was a buzzing making it hard to concentrate on anything. He looked at Elfrida, his eyes saw the ocean for a second then flashed back to this location. A new weight pressed onto his mind something he had never felt before.
He watched and listened to what the dragon said after what seemed like a break for the dragons to think or so Fenlore thought.
This is what you ask so it shall be. But we will do what you have asked. Just know that it will cost you greatly! Fenlore felt the pulse of energy leave the Dragons. He imagined the same thing happening to him happen to Elfrida. He was wrong in a way. The dragons did not enter Elfrida's mind rather the blessing this time was more of a ward in nature though it would use her own energy to pull the burdens of others to herself, not burdens of the body but burdens of the mind and heart.

Occ:I hope i didn't go out of line here.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida received the blessing, and thanked the eldunari. "No cost is too great if I can at least relieve my few friends of their heaviest burdens." Elfrida felt burdens and pain, but she accepted them eagerly as they would keep the darkness within herself from becoming greater quickly. She felt the darkness in her stir, and she heard the whispers of anger coming from it. There was a quick fight in Elfrida's mind for control of her body, but was quickly ended as the darkness within her was not yet strong. Elfrida felt the presence of her wings that came from darkness, and forced them to disappear again. She would not allow darkness a crevice anywhere. Or so she thought. She could not see that darkness had turned one eye red and looking like a cat or dragon eye, while the other was green, and looked like a normal elf eye.
Elfrida saw a flash of light, and when she looked around she was no longer in the room she had been in. Everything appeared misty except for a building that appeared to be part of a castle stood. Ferns grew near it, and somewhere the sounds of a waterfall echoed. Elfrida looked at the one who's back was turned. She turned around slowly.
"You have taken a burden on you that few would, seer." She said. Elfrida knew her... She just couldn't remember where she had seen her before. "It was not part of your duty, but it is something desired of those who have the gift of foresight--whether in dreams, or visions. Use it well, and do not mistreat it. Continue the journey, and learn your blessing. You do not seem to desire any more friends since you were betrayed, but at least you can try to act friendly to the one on a journey."
the giver of dreams, and visions said. Elfrida had remembered who she was only moments before finding herself back in the cave.
"The broken path is hard to find, but you must journey on it, the same as all your kind. The pain and loss is hard to bear, but soon you will not be alone, do not despair." Elfrida finished speaking the section of prophecy she had been ordered to tell. She did not know what it meant, only that it was meant to be said.

OOC: If you don't mind telling, is Fenlore bonded to a dragon now?

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore raised an eyebrow at what Elfrida said as well at what the dragons said. He wasn't sure on what was going on, there were to many wholes in what was happening. He figured that Elfrida talked to the dragons without his knowing and he wasn't sure as to why.
His mind was clearing though and he was able to stand. He looked at the eldunari of the dragons. Expecting it to say something he was right in his expectation too but it still didn't make sense.
Your sight is rather broad and very far seeing. It reminds me of her sight for she foresaw much that other seers thought impossible to see. But bare your burdens well forget not that you will not bare it without a cost. For those who bare the physical pain of others can survive but barring the burdens of the hearts of other have broken many. After it had spoken the dragon statues withdrew back to their normal positions. Fenlore was content with what the dragons had done to him, he wasn't sure what it was but his mind felt fresh and open as it had when he first learned to reach out with his mind.
He turned to Elfrida then, "What did you mean when you sai....." He let the thought die as he saw her eye. He couldn't help himself as his hand moved caress lightly around the eye. "What happened?" He asked his voice saturated with a concern that surprised himself but he didn't dwell on it. His mind was still in a light fog even though he could think somewhat clearly now.

Occ: sorta, he isn't directly bonded yet but the dragons made it possible for him to bond to a certain dragon. That wont happen in this topic though. hehe^^

Elfrida looked at the eldunari again. "I know the cost. I would rather myself be broken than others. At least it would save the world the pain I may later cause." Elfrida watched as the statues moved back in place. "Your true journey has now begun." she told Fenlore.
Elfrida knew her wings had left too quick to be seen, but she had not realized that one eye had succeeded in reflecting the darkness within her. She attacked the darkness in her mind to force it to release control. Meanwhile in her body she drew back and tried to answer Fenlore's unfinished question. "I do not know what I meant. It was a portion of a prophecy. I am not good at interpreting prophecies, while I find visions easy." She ignored the second one for awhile.
The darkness within her attacked harder, and for a moment her wings returned before Elfrida was able to defeat the darkness--temporarily. The darkness retreated, and Elfrida knew her eye would be it's right color now. "I was cursed at my birth. Since you probably heard what the eldunari said about my darkness, then I will tell you a little." Elfrida hated lying, but she didn't want to tell what her curse would make her into. "I was cursed to have darkness control me later in my life. That is all you need to know." Elfrida said the last bit slowly so Fenlore would know that she did not wish to speak of it. "You have a journey to complete. You can't do it standing here."

Fenlore withdrew his arm. His mind was on fire now with thought. He thought his journey was done for a while. Where should he go, he didn't know. For now he felt as if it was his fate to stay with Elfrida for now. His emotions seemed to be out of control he couldn't compose his face to its normal cold look.
Fenlore stepped away and looked around for Bree, he was wanting a change in subject. To much seemed to push him in certain directions he wasn't sure if he liked his. He felt his face with one hand and knew right away that he was an open book for all to read. What have those blasted dragons done to me and what did Elfrida mean..... His mind wondered through the cloudy haze of emotions.
Bree trotted over ignoring Fenlore confusion and just radiated thoughts of happiness to his master. Fenlore couldn't help but smile.

Occ: well Im not sure where I want to take this one now....so yeah...any suggestions?

Elfrida nearly sighed in relief when Fenlore went over to his horse, and didn't ask anymore. She hadn't lied, but she didn't think that Fenlore could guess what the darkness within her would later do. Elfrida turned to look into the darkness in the cavern.
Blacknight and Death joined her. She started speaking where only they could hear, and they knew what she had to say was important.
Fenlore will become a dragon rider, and it is my duty to prepare him for the first meeting with the dragon. If he is finished training all that can be trained before meeting his dragon then good. I hope he is a quick learner. She told her friends.
Blacknight looked at her, and said You should act friendly even if he is not your friend in your eyes.
Elfrida returned the look. You are the second to tell me that. Elfrida said.
Death moved to in front of Elfrida. What else did you want to talk to us about? I know you. There is more. Death said to his friend.
Elfrida looked at both her friends and knew she would have to tell them of the danger nearby. The Varden are nearby, as is Wulfe. They on one side, and he on another. She told them.
The Varden may not be hunting you. Blacknight said. Elfrida shook her head slightly and replied, Can we take that chance? If they knew I was here they would come after me immediately. And why would Wulfe hunt anyone else?
Death looked at Elfrida. Ignore them until they come. Begin teaching Fenlore now, and if the Varden or Wulfe come think about it then. he said.
As you wish. Elfrida told the wolf spirit. The three turned and walked to where Fenlore was. "Your journey must begin sometime. It might as well be now. This journey will be different. You will learn what your master did not teach you. Are you ready?" Elfrida asked while her mind felt the enemies nearby.
"By the way. Are you on friendly terms with the Varden?" Death asked Fenlore.

Fenlore stiffened, he was proficient in many magic’s that elves didn't teach each other till they were of a certain skill level. He had missed a few basics here and there but he grasped those quickly on his own. So he wondered what he could be taught that his former master had kept from him. And he was confused further on what the Varden had to do with anything here in the desert.
He chose to not comment on what Elfrida said but answered Death. "I have a mutual respect with the Varden. They respect the fact that I’m against the empire and don't find the means in which I do so wrong. And I respect them for the same thing. Why do you ask?" Fenlore walked to his sword and grasped the hilt removing it from where it laid. The jewel in the hilt he felt was overflowing with energy. He stared at Eldunari in amazement, wondering how much power dragons truly wielded.

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "How much do you know? Demonstrate your hardest spell. I will replenish your energy when you are done." She said ignoring the response about the Varden. "Can you manipulate minds without magic? Can you make yourself invisible without using more energy than it takes to snap a finger? This journey is one I saw that I would help you with the most. Teaching you what you will need to know soon."
Death and Blacknight watched to see how the human would respond. "I have an endless supply of energy." Death said. When Fenlore is drained he can use some of mine. You will need yours later. Elfrida nodded once, and felt the approaching Varden again. "We need to leave this cavern to continue his journey, but with them out there... We need to leave as quickly as possible." Elfrida told Blacknight, and Death. "We will probably have to depend on the Eldunari to get us out, as the Eldunari brought us here." Blacknight said. Elfrida looked at the mare, "Most likely. Do either of you want to teach him about eldunari?" Elfrida knew the answer to her question before she finished asking it. The two just looked at her, and she didn't ask again. "Tell me Fenlore, can you use dark magic? It is the most important thing I need to know about the training you have received." Elfrida said, looking at the darkness in the cavern around them.

OOC: They need to leave the cavern now so if you can make the dragons/eldunari transport them again, that would be good.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore sighed, so many questions about what he knew. He wasn't fond of it. He still felt the presence of the dragons mind fallowing the conversation.
"I know of dark magic and often was instructed on counter measures to many forms of it; for that was one of subjects that my master was investigating before his death. I was not trained to use it though I know of it."
Fenlore got quiet as he sat in thought for a while trying to come up with spells that were extremely complicated but not one that required the death of another. His mind seemed blank until he remembered his encounter earlier in the cavern.
Dragons. Help me complete this task with ease so we may be on our way. Fenlore said casting out his thoughts to the dragons showing them his plan. They did not speak but he felt their presence enter his mind and their strength was at his disposal.
He reached for magic and began speaking in a normal toned voice the words in the ancient language that would teleport Elfrida, Death, Blacknight, Bree, and himself to a small Oasis fifty miles to the north from here. He felt the drain of energy from the Dragons it didn't seem to dent their energy. Fenlroe found himself engulfed in light and once the light subsided he saw that he was standing ankle deep in a small pool of water with the hot sun beating down on his back.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
"Good." Elfrida said when Fenlore had told her he couldn't use dark magic. "It kills most who use it, and affects the rest, like a disease that will not leave when someone is healed of it. Magic with the smallest amount of darkness will leave the desire for more, and more until it destroys the user." Elfrida added in her mind where the animals could hear. "There very few of us left. Most of us who can use it were, and are hunted down by all. Death or service are our two choices. But because three of us resisted, we are hunted."
Elfrida had not heard the ancient language used with magic in a long time, and had nearly forgotten how. Elfrida felt all of them being teleported, and she prepared to use magic. Though the teleportion happened in an instant Elfrida felt each bit of it. She grabbed magic, and used it to teleport to a spot about one mile away from the place the rest would end up. If he knows how to recognize dark magic then he should be able to counter it. She told Death before using it. Then she made a mistake, and used the type of dark magic that could not be identified as magic, and was therefore difficult to counter. Elfrida released it in annoyance and began to walk to where the others were.
Death and Blacknight looked around. Somewhere nearby Blacknight could smell the herd she had been born into. They traveled constantly from oasis to oasis. Elfrida walked up and said in her mind. Not today. It will be a little while yet.
"You did well considering you used the words, and the right ones." Elfrida told Fenlore. "You could have picked a better spot. Everyone gathers at oasis' and if you have enemies this would be the most likely place to meet them." Blacknight and Death looked at Elfrida. She wasn't telling all, but she had her reasons. They both wished they knew what she was holding back though."

Fenlore wadded out of the water and looked around. Elfrida was a long ways away. He thought over his magic and there had been no flaw. The words were absolute and the flow of his magic was not interrupted. It confounded him on what had happened.
When Elfrida finally joined them he listened nodding his head and the logic behind her words.
"I chose here for the water. And as it is I fear nothing in the desert unless Galbatorix flies here himself to kill me." He grabbed the reins to Bree and swung up into the saddle. He then amended his prior statement. "And I fear the dragons we just met. For their power was......amazing."
He looked up at the sky, he figured there was four hours of sunlight left.
"We have four hours till dark. Where are we to go?" He asked Elfrida.

Elfrida heard what Fenlore had said, but she wasn't paying attention. "Why this oasis? of all that you could have chosen, this is the worst." she said as she walked to the deepest section of water. At that moment she realized what the man had said. "Their power was great" Elfrida said, turning to face Fenlore. "But I have felt greater. Galbatorix would never waste time in the Hadarac. He would send his many servants first as you very well know." Elfrida turned away again, and used magic to pull the object she had been protecting for a while out of the water.
The yellow and black egg glowed faintly and Elfrida glared at it. If she hadn't been asked to watch it she would have left it in this oasis forever. She almost used magic to teleport the egg away, but something held her back, so she continued holding it, while glaring at it.
"This is the Hadarac. It is not likely to rain." Elfrida said, turning just enough to look at Fenlore, and keep the dragon egg hidden. "It would be best to find a place dry, and lifeless. A place nobody can survive--not even fire--Unless you would prefer staying with the Urgals. There is an Urgal city not too far from here." Death moved to where he could see the egg. "Oh, that's one reason you've been secretive. You think the egg Ebony, and Felena will hatch for you, and you despise dragon riders." Death started laughing at his friend. Blacknight glanced over when Elfrida turned completely around, and the yellow egg with black veins was revealed. "Death is right. I doubt Ebony, and Felena would give you the egg if they didn't believe it wouldn't hatch." The black mare told Elfrida.
Elfrida ignored them, and glanced at Fenlore. "The Urgals, or a place in the desert? It is your choice." she told him.

Fenlore sighed as she mentioned feeling greater power. He knew this, he had fought Galbatorix once and he knew that his power was greater. With a silent sigh he accepted the fact but when Elfrida mentioned staying with Urgals he wasn't sure if she was feeling okay.
"Urgals?" He asked, "Really Urgals? You must know something I don't about the Urgals cuase last time I saw one it tried to kill me."
He wasn't offended at the thought of meeting Urgals nor was he scared he just wasn't sure what was going through Elfrida's mind and he needed to know.
"No no no, I trust you so if you feel Urgals is the place to go so be it. But I do need to know what your overall plan is. What are you planning on doing? Where are you planning on going? What is my part in this? I need to know what is going on." Fenlore stared hard at Elfrida, his eyes unwavering.

Elfrida smiled. "So little trust. The Urgals are not evil, they have just been used wrongly by Galbatorix and his shades." She looked at Fenlore, returning his hard stare with one of her own. "You must learn. That is your journey--or all that I can reveal to you. There is much the Urgals can teach you, and you probably know little, or nothing of these things as they are reserved for... Higher up magicians."
Elfrida noticed that Fenlore seemed to be trying to guess at the truth, and her eyes started to do a little laughing, while she made the rest of her face stone hard, and expressionless.
"Galbatorix will stop at nothing to see those who threaten his rule dead, or in service to him. The Urgals will provide a safe place for as long as needed. Few know of their hidden city, and those who do are one's who would not betray them. If any word of their city, or it's location escapes you, and Galbatorix hears of it... I will just say that many will not live long after." Elfrida said as she stood unblinking.
She was determined not to back down first, as Fenlore had in the werecat portion of Elfrida's mind, challenged her, and her intentions.

Fenlore sighed shaking his head after a few minutes of silence. So many things he wanted to know and wouldn't be told. Bree seemed to agree with him on staying away from Urgals but the horse felt a regret for having to leave those three.
"Elfrida, I have no desire to die yet and seeing how I seem to know so little I ask you to do what you must in my instruction. But I do not follow anyone blindly. It was for that reason I gave up the life I led, out in these vast deserts. I will and do trust you. For I have no reason to not trust you but I still ask you to not keep me in the dark for long." Fenlore let his head drop a little in a small show of submission but his pride did not allow himself to go along blindly with Elfrida.

"You cannot trust me." Elfrida said. "Not for the smallest thing, not for the largest." she allowed her eyes to soften some. "I am sorry I cannot tell you all. It is not my place. I will not step outside the boundaries that have been laid on me. All I can tell you is that I have been given the task of seeing you trained, and prepared."
Elfrida started to use magic to teleport them, and quickly stopped herself. Using dark magic too often could bring about unwanted results. Elfrida formed a sunburst, and stared at it until she had remembered how to use magic of light. She contacted the Urgals, then said to Fenlore, "The Urgals are expecting us. This tribe is different than any other. They have given themselves to study, and not fighting. They still learn to fight, but magic, and learning histories are what they enjoy the most. There is no reason to be uneasy about these Urgals. Please, do not try to kill any, even if they challenge you. Are you ready to meet them?" Elfrida asked the last question in a way that said 'ready or not', and she prepared a portal. "Step through when you are." Blacknight, and Death went through quickly. They had stayed with these Urgals before, and knew that only good came from them. "Come on, we don't have all day!" Death said to the others.

Fenlore stared at the portal. She said he couldn't trust her but that was not the way he was raised. Trust was something that he had no right to not give it until there was a reason behind not giving it.
"Know this about my past quickly. When I was a bandit in these parts I killed many Urgal. I do not know if they were from this city or not but I know that vengeance is something that Urgals are known for." Bree inched close to the portal and stopped right before as Fenlore turned lightly in the saddle to speak again.
"Don't throw away or push away the trust of others. In this you still have much to learn." And with that said Bree walked through the portal.

Elfrida saw the Urgals greet those who had already entered the city, and stood unmoving. She knew she should follow, but she did not want to be in contact with the others. Those who trust her will she betray... Elfrida remembered the words spoken about her, and although she knew it was meant for the future she didn't like the idea of allowing others to trust her.
Slowly Elfrida stepped through the portal, and allowed it to dissipate behind her. She greeted the Urgals, and watched them leave to go about their business.
Elfrida had made the portal to the courtyard of a house that had been given to her by the Urgals. Blacknight immediately went to the horse area of it, and Death went with her. Elfrida looked at Fenlore and Bree and said, "Bree may stay here, wander around the city, or go inside. Whatever he prefers. There is a room for you, the second door to your left. It is probably filled with dust, and who knows what else, as it has not been used since... I don't know when--if ever."
Elfrida walked out of the courtyard, and to a hill she knew quite well. The last time she had been to this city was with her first non-animal/Urgal friends. The last time she had been here was when she was hunted. Nothing seemed different. Nothing except the egg she still carried.

Fenlore was on his toes as he entered the Urgal city. But it wasn't as he expected. The Urgals greeted him some speaking in their own tongue others in the common language. He didn't say much but held his chin high remembering the lessons that Orome had taught him about Urgals and their internal structure and culture.
He felt he did his best to not offend any of them or hoped. Once the Urgals left he listened to Elfrida and looked around. It wasn't a bad looking place and seemed to have a homely feeling about it.
Once Elfrida told Fenlore where to go he dismounted and Bree happily trotted after Blacknight.
He felt that something was off around Elfrida. She was disturbed he thought. So as she left the court yard he followed quietly behind. He came up behind her when she reached the hill and laid a reassuring hand on her shoulder. He wasn't sure what to say but he knew he must say something or anything so he didn't look like a fool.
"Our fate is never written in stone. No matter what others tell us we can change what has been seen." Or so his master had told him.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida flinched when Fenlore put his hand on her shoulder--she was not a very touchable person at best--but didn't move. When he spoke Elfrida shook her head slightly. "You are not the first to tell me that." she said. "But I cannot see how my fate can change. Not since I have tried, and failed to change it too many times to count." Elfrida looked over the Urgal city. It seemed more prosperous than it had before--not that the fact mattered much, it was just something to keep her mind off of fate, and duty.
A small jolt brought Elfrida back to her troubles as she noticed the dragon egg move a little bit. She looked westward to see where the sun was--The Urgal city was a little ways east of the oasis they had just left. The sun was had a few hours left maybe. She turned around and looked at Fenlore. "I hope you know how to prepare your own food. Don't expect me to do it even if I own the house, and you are a guest."
Elfrida walked slowly back towards the house, although she felt like dropping the egg, and creating a portal to some place far away. She could feel the unhatched dragon with her mind, and felt the young dragon touch her mind. Elfrida walked into the courtyard, and set the egg down on a small stone basin about three feet in the air. She knew the egg was about to hatch, and she didn't want to be around when it did. The only problem was that the young dragon seemed to sense that, and seemed to gather strength to destroy the egg shell. Elfrida dropped down just as egg shards flew in every direction, and nearly hit her.
The yellow dragon looked at her with her strangely black eyes and yellow pupils, and hopped down to the ground on wobbly legs--landing on Elfrida's left arm. It--well she had had a name before hatching--Ameris touched Elfrida's left hand, and created a bond before her "new" rider could move. Elfrida shook the young dragon off, and stood. Her hand didn't feel the shock most riders received as she was protected by the type of magic she used, but she felt a different type. Elfrida nearly groaned when she realized she had a dragon to deal with, and from nearby she heard Death laughing at her.
Elfrida picked up Ameris--quite annoyed--and looked at the little yellow dragon. Immediately the little dragon started speaking, and making rules. Elfrida nearly dropped her in surprise. She had thought dragons couldn't speak with their minds for a while. "Be careful! I am still fragile" the little dragon said in a commanding tone. "You are not going anywhere without me from now on! You will do as I say." Elfrida closed her eyes, wondering how much worse her day could get. Behind her Death was laughing so hard she thought he would laugh his spirit to death.

OOC: And here comes Ameris the over protective dragon.

Occ: ROFL "You will do as I say" HAHAHAHA I was laughing soo hard when I first read it. Poor Elfrida she has one demanding hatchling. Oh and sorry its short xP

Ic: Fenlore watched Elfrida as she left. He knew she was hiding much from him, he would say the same about him hiding things from her but he had nothing to hide. He continued to ponder the turn in events for a few minutes longer until Bree touched his mind and complained about his saddle and how he wanted it off. With a sigh Fenlore headed back to the house.
He entered courtyard and he stopped in confusion at the sight of the little dragon. He walked suspiciously closer but stopped before he was to close. He didn't speak but just watched the little dragon and Elfrida. He reached his mind out to touch the dragons and Elfrida. He wasn't sure what to do, the dragon look harmless but he still didn't trust dragons, he knew to little about them.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
OOC: I've been pitying--and laughing at--Elfrida ever since this dragon was planned. Elfrida's going to hate the restrictions Ameris puts on her.

IC:Elfrida opened her eyes and looked at the hatchling. She felt like sending it far away, but she knew she couldn't. Ameris bit Elfrida on the arm. Hard. Elfrida knew that she had failed to keep her thoughts secret from the little dragon. She had never liked dragons, or dragon riders very much, and becoming a rider was one of the worst things she could think of. The little dragon walked up Elfrida's arms, and stuck her face in Elfrida's. Stop thinking like that! You always nearly get yourself killed without a dragon, so I will keep you alive, and away from battles! Elfrida healed herself where Ameris' claws, and teeth had torn her. Things were not going the right way.
Ameris looked at the other two-legs who had just entered the courtyard, and reached out her mind to his. "Hi, I'm Ameris. Good to meet you." Although her voice was friendly Ameris watched the two-legs carefully, not quite trusting him. She dug into Elfrida's mind, taking memories, and learned about as much as she could of Elfrida's past before her 'rider' closed off her mind, and buried her memories. Ameris flicked her tail into Elfrida, and said where all could hear. "Don't you dare close me out of your mind! Open it to me! Now!"
Elfrida shook her head slightly, and slowly opened her mind--but only a little. The young dragon didn't seem pleased about that, but Elfrida refused to open it anymore that that. Elfrida nearly flinched when Fenlore touched her mind. She didn't want him, or even the young dragon to know her dark secrets. Ameris stretched her wings, and worked them until she seemed confident that she could fly. She jumped off of Elfrida's shoulder, and immediately fell, to the ground. Elfrida healed Ameris quickly before the hatchling could order her to. Elfrida looked at Ameris, then looked around. The only way she could leave without the dragon was magic, and at the moment Elfrida knew that wasn't an option. Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "Do you know anything about caring for dragon hatchlings?"
Blacknight walked up and looked at the little dragon. "Raising dragons is the one thing you haven't done." Blacknight said in an amused voice. "By the way Fenlore. If you leave that saddle on your horse much longer I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes displeased with you enough to require an apology." Death came up--still laughing at Elfrida. "Elfrida, it's time you learned something new. You haven't done that in a very long time." Elfrida sighed. "I do not want to be a rider. I have never wanted to be one, and now I am. I wonder if Ameris would settle for an Urgal." The last bit made the young dragon growl. Elfrida finally found a smile for the dragon--although it was hard. "This does not mean there will be a pause in your training." Elfrida told Fenlore. "You had probably do something to gain strength for your training--such as eating or sleeping. Since I am assigned your trainer by fate, and dreams I will see that you are trained, even if it nearly kills you." Elfrida had been intending to say 'even if it kills me' but with Ameris looking at her she decided against it.

Fenlore was a little startled by the dragon speaking. He didn't know anything about dragons but he figure that like every other intelligent creature out there knowledge such as speech had to be gained through time and from the looks of the egg shell everywhere this little dragon had just hatched.
"Greetings Ameris...." He paused for a second as he tried to think of a polite way to honor the noble but little beast. He came up with nothing so settled on a normal greeting, "The pleasure is all mine."
Fenlore looked at Elfrida with quizzing eyes after the little exchange. He moved slowly to where Bree was listening to everything. Caring for a hatchling? He questioned himself quietly. And before he answered he heard what Elfrida said about his training and his eyes narrowed. He quickly unstrapped Brees saddle and tossed it to the ground.
"So even though you will have your hands full with that little one over there you think you can still train me? I may not know as much about magic but I know enough to stay at par with elfs; I have even beaten many elves in combat. I have even killed a Shade! So why do you continue to look down on me for this small lack of knowledge I have?" He wasn't angry though his voice may have sounded it. He was truly confused on why Elfrida always seemed to undercut his abilities; even the elfs respected him for his ability. But he wondered why Elfrida constantly questioned it.

Occ: Well I know the shade didn’t die but Fenlore truly thinks he killed it.

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. "I have been trained as a rider, and only Ameris needs training--which I cannot give her. I will have plenty of time to teach you as my fate commands." Elfrida told him. "You have much more to learn than you seem to think." Elfrida blinked when Ameris jumped from the ground to her shoulder. A very unusual hatchling she noted, but put it out of her mind.
"The greatest honor in killing Shades is releasing the trapped spirits, but when they do not desire to be free then there is no honor." Elfrida said while tracing the dragon mark on her left hand. While Fenlore had spoken of killing a Shade, Elfrida had allowed her face to be doubtful, and now she said "Have you seen the releasing of spirits? Did you see them flee the body of the shade you 'killed'?" Elfrida made the word killed sound such a way that Fenlore would know that she doubted whether he had succeeded in slaying the Shade.
"If you wish me to stop questioning you then stop talking about how good you are, and start showing it." Elfrida told Fenlore before walking towards the house. Ameris started for acting rude. "You are just a hatchling. I am much older than you, stop treating me like a child!" Elfrida told the dragon. Ameris' tail hit Elfrida, and the little dragon growled loudly. "I am in charge here. Not you!" she told Elfrida. Elfrida gave up trying to be in control of the little dragon, and walked into the house, and stopped, trying to remember if the kitchen was on the main floor, or the second. Ameris told her with the memories she had taken from Elfrida, and walked to it, and began searching for something for the little dragon to eat.

Fenlore watched as Elfrida left. The release of the spirits, he wasn't sure what that exactly was. He remembers his sword piercing the Shade's heart though. He walked toward the room that he had been told was his. He quickly entered leaving the door opened. It was dusty and not homely at all.
"Out!" He barked in the ancient language as he grasped for magic. Quickly as he intended every speck of dust left the room.
"That’s better." He said as he leaned his sword against the wall and sat on the bed there.
"Now what am I going to do?" He thought aloud to himself. "Can't really leave now can I....I'll take advantage of this for now and get some rest. She couldn't mean to drive me too hard in training." He commented dryly to himself as he stared at his sword.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
After a long search Elfrida found there was no edible food around, so she went to find some. An Urgal had been sent to bring her some--thus saving her a long trip. When Ameris had eaten her fill Elfrida made a place for the hatchling to sleep, and left as soon as the dragon was sleeping soundly.
The night had come quickly over the Urgal city, and wherever Elfrida looked shadows seemed to dance about. Elfrida stood on the hill, planning the next day. First she would tire Fenlore out with magic to see how much he knew, then she would make him use simple spells until he nearly killed himself, and would have to receive energy from Death... Elfrida shook her head. That seemed to slow. She preferred quick and non-efficient to long and efficient--unless she was close friends with the one she was teaching.
Elfrida thought for awhile more, and finally decided how to teach Fenlore. She was about to leave when she noticed several Urgals of importance coming towards her. She stopped, and waited for them. Not until there was about three hours left until dawn, did Elfrida finally leave the hill. When she arrived at the home provided for her, Elfrida rested her mind, although she was still aware of all going on--not completely like the elves sleep, nor like any other race. Only the half werecat/elf it seemed were like this--able to do work while in a sleep-like state--although all Elfrida did was brush Blacknight, and sit in a chair for the rest of the time.
Because Elfrida was in this type of "sleep" she saw the large fire that was rapidly growing. Her mind came fully awake, and she ran to where she could put out the magic most effectively. Elfrida put her hand to her scar. Wulfe was near, but not near enough to be a hindrance--yet. Elfrida knew there would be a battle soon, and she went searching for the Urgal leaders to warn them about it.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore sat on his bed the whole night in his meditative rest that he favored in places he wasn't used to. His mind pondered everthing that was happening. He wasn't sure on what kind of training Elfrida had in mind for him. He remembered Orome's rough training, the basics he had pounded into him, the days he would be forced to use magic till it almost killed him. How Orome made his do everything with magic for a week. He chuckled in his mind at wondering if training would be like this again. He was ripped from his meditation when magic was used to start a fire. He normally didn't have the senses to be able to detect the actual use of magic but he did now, but he didn't think on why he just acted.
Quickly he grasped his sword and sprinted out of the house. He saw Elfrida begin to work on putting out the fire but it was spreading quickly. He stopped and stretched out his mind to the fire, it was created by magic as he had felt. He reached for the flow of power within the fire he began to concentrate on stopping the flow of the power within the fire with hope of stopping the fire from spreading further.
What is going on? He shouted with his mind at Elfrida hoping she didn't have her mental walls to strong.

Occ: If im wrong about the fire I will edit^^ im guessing that it was started with magic and controled by it.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida heard Fenlore's mental shout despite the walls on her mind and looked at him. "Eldunari are being used to cause fires in the city. Lifting a rock with magic would kill Wulfe, therefore he uses Eldunari, and those from a distance." Elfrida told Fenlore, and then walked on to where she had seen the Urgal leaders. After telling them of the threat of battle, and convincing them that she was sure Wulfe was near Elfrida walked back to where she could easily feel, and sever the magic keeping the flames alive.

Death's spirit joined Elfrida, and gave her energy, and mind strength to sever the flow of magic. Blacknight had also come to the burning section of the city, and entered where she could to rescue Urgal children, and possessions. Elfrida felt claws dig into her shoulder, and an angry growl from Ameris, until Elfrida explained what was happening in a way that made the little dragon decide Elfrida was doing right. Elfrida felt the stares of Urgals at her and the little dragon. They had never expected her to become a rider, as she had not expected it. Urgal children who weren't helping put out the flames ran up to gaze at the Ameris--who finally decided to join them on the ground to their delight.
As soon as Ameris was distracted Elfrida moved quickly, and quietly to another spot, much closer to Wulfe and the Eldunari, Close enough where she could close her eyes and point to him in a crowd of a thousand. She knew he was waiting on the other side of the gates, but she knew she couldn't confront him yet. Not until the growing flames were dealt with.

Elfrida had been so intent on severing the flow of magic that she didn't noticed when it became significantly less, and the Urgals started to succeed in putting out the fires. Elfrida didn't notice until suddenly the flow of magic was gone, and all she could feel was her own, Fenlore's, and a handful of the Urgals who happened to be in this portion of the city at the right time. Elfrida turned her concentration on the fire, but did nothing against it, and asked the Urgal spell casters not to, as it could be used to begin Fenlore's training. "You have one minute to put out the entire fire." Elfrida told Fenlore mentally. "Do not forget that it covers more than one square mile so you can 'pace' yourself." Elfrida and the Urgal spell-casters watched the man to see what he would do.

Occ: Sorry i was gone for a while because of school.

Ic: Fenlore sighed and closed his eyes the flow of energy was immense. He knew that in a battle of strength against such a power would be extremely difficult and likely cause his own death. Seconds flew by as his mind raced for an option. He knew nothing of the Eldunari, except that they seemed far more powerful than he could hope to match himself. He searched the magic it was spreading to every particle that was within the city but as the fire grew the concentration of the energy that fed the fire had to spread out. This would take vast amounts of energy to the transfer the energy over any amount of distance. Fenlore looked in the direction of the flow; if he could divert the flow of the energy away from the city then fire would die. He knew that he could afford to craft the magic in a manner that would draw energy from the Urgal's who lived here nor could he use his own energy incase he was needed. There seemed almost like a surge of energy from his sword as one of his wards protected him from a falling piece of burning timber. The energy was vast, the energy that the dragons had given to him. A small smile touched his face. He had found his method.
Quickly sprinting knowing his time was almost out by Elfrida's standards he reached the wall beside the gate where the energy was coming from. Taking his sword he thrusted it into the wall and began to weave a complex spell that would copy the properties of his swords ability to cut through magic and the jewels properties of absorbing energy into the wall itself. Fenlore made it so that the sword itself would feed the spell at first untill the wall had absorbed enough extra energy from the spell being cast on the outside of the city to the inside. He felt what seemed like an extremely slow drain on the energy within the jewel. He expanded the spell to cover the city also and the energy consumption increased a little more. He could feel the fires behind him dying out though as they used up what energy that had entered the walls before he could finish the weaving of his magic. Once he was satisfied with his work. He held out his hand imagining his spear, quickly it left where he had put it and came to him, the drain of his own energy was small satisfying him even more.
The fire will die out with this. Any type of spell they through at the wall I’m confident the energy behind it will be taken. But what now? How did he even find us? Fenlore said with his mind moving in front of the gate. He wanted nothing more than a few days of peace. Something that would not come it seemed not even in a remote location such as this.

The urgals showed an immense amount of surprise at what Fenlore did, but Elfrida didn't so much as blink. "Your master must have been great to teach you to think through things. You would be called a great magician by most." Elfrida said, walking towards the gate. The closer she got, the more painful her scar got, and it started to bleed. "Wulfe has been tracking me a long time. When we are close enough we are able to feel each others presences. Even across an area of ten miles. Usually. There are sometimes when we cannot feel each other."
Elfrida stopped, closed her eyes, and felt the amount of Eldunari, and others with Wulfe. "Wulfe will wait a few days to attack the city." Elfrida said as she opened her eyes. "He rarely attacks at a disadvantage, and he is at one now." Elfrida turned around and said to Fenlore, "Take your rest while you can. You will face Wulfe, and you will face him whether you are tired, or not. Your battle with him will conclude your training, and if he attacks tomorrow... I will drive you close to death to see you trained properly." Elfrida walked past the urgals, to their training grounds. She knew what she had to do, but she didn't know if she had time to do it.

Fenlore looked at Elfrida as she walked away and shook his head. He lacked much knowledge that the elfs had, he knew this. He just knew allot more then what was expected of him because he is not an elf. Quickly before Elfrida could get to far away he sprinted after.
"You are going to have to work hard to break me down. Cause I don't go down easily." He said sternly, something about Elfrida made him want to be able to best her.

Elfrida stopped and looked at Fenlore, her face completely expressionless. "Even with all the energy in your sword you are still not strong enough. Can you summon the essence of light itself? If you can do that without dying then good, I will leave immediately knowing that there is someone as close to an equal in magic as there can be. To summon the true essence of light you must have the energy to destroy the world completely, without leaving a trace. If you can do that then you will have much more magic at your call, waiting to be used, without energy." Elfrida's voice was quiet, and almost threatening as she started to walk again. "If you think you are ready then we will begin now. Disappear so the Urgals cannot see even your shadow, and move as silently as death. Most who disappear leave their shadows, and die when they try to accomplish this. Do it, and if you survive your strength will increase." Elfrida did it wordlessly to demonstrate, and continued walking. She noticed several startled Urgals so she reappeared before they thought it was something Fenlore had done, and they retaliated.
Elfrida wondered if she should tell Fenlore the consequences given to those who succeeded in summoning the essence of light, but decided against it, as she was sure Fenlore had nowhere near enough power to do it.

Fenlore sighed and closed his eyes; he wasn't sure on what was being asked of him. But creating a spell that would make every part of him invisible would be difficult. That would involve his body and cloths not catching the particles of light as they hit his body. He reached for magic and not to be outdone by Elfrida wordlessly he casted a spell that made light pass through him instead of around him. Even to himself he began to be unable to see himself as light was no longer able to touch him making him drift off into the back ground. He was unsure if this was right the drain of energy didn't seem like much but the constant drain would take a toll after awhile. "Is this what you are looking for?" He asked unsure if it was.

OOC: Sorry I haven't replied in forever.

Elfrida was surprised at how well Fenlore did. "Almost." she said. "I have to apologize. I underestimated you. A little." Elfrida emphasized the word 'little'. "You have maybe twenty-four hours at the most to train. Until then you will be practicing, and perfecting this spell, as well as a few others." Elfrida looked at where Fenlore was -knowing where he was by the feel of his magic being used. "You need to hide all traces of your magic, and allow solid things to pass through your body - quite useful in battle when an arrow is coming at you. When you have accomplished this we will move on to an attack spell." Elfrida said, her voice beginning to lose it's coldness.

Occ: Its all good I think we both have been swamped.

Ic: Fenlore took Elfrida's words and he began to make changes to the magic he was using. He first began to mold the magic so that solid objects would pass through him without causing any harm to his being. As he released the magic in its adjusted state, the drain that had been small increased immensely and his feet began to sink through the ground. In panic he stopped the magic at the point to where he is stuck up to his waist in the ground. Exasperated Fenlore looked up at Elfrida, "Well I think I'll need every minute of that training." He struggled to move his legs but he was thoroughly stuck.

Occ: Im not sure where we are going with this.

Elfrida couldn't help but laugh at Fenlore - that was something she hadn't really done in a long time. A very long time. "It seems I forgot to warn you to leave your feet whole. You can only make your feet completely invisible when you can fly." Elfrida said, serious once again. Elfrida considered getting Fenlore out, but decided against it. "Make your legs only that which can pass through all, and use your arms to help yourself get out of the ground. The Urgals would not appreciate their road being torn up." Elfrida touched Death's mind with her own. Begin giving him energy she told the wolf spirit. Death complied, and began giving energy to Fenlore.

OOC: It could probably be ended after Fenlore fights Wulfe. I have an idea for once Fenlore's learned the two things Elfrida talked about.

Fenlore smiled at Elfrida's light hearted laughter. Without comment he listened to Elfrida's constructive criticism and felt the flow of energy from Death. Closing his eye's Fenlore spoke the words needed in the ancient language to free his legs from the ground. Once he pulled himself free he stood up and began to pace.
Fenlore knew he had a dilemma. Even if he was successful in crafting the magic that Elfrida want the energy required to hold the magic for more than 10 minutes would be immense and not within his own physical capability. "The problem is time. I do not have the strength to hold this magic for that amount of time a battle should take. The invisible magic doesn't take much but..." Fenlore stopped and looked up at Elfrida and sealed off his mind stopping the flow of energy that had been being given to him.
Slowly words came to his lips in the ancient language. The words were vague and seemed to be jumbled up, "Pass through...barrier...light...feet...solid." When Fenlore released the magic he became invisible again making it so light could pass through him again. He had the established a barrier that was two inches away from his body and when anything entered the barrier that had the intent to harm him it would pass through his body harmlessly.
Fenlore sighed in relief as the drain of magic was much less then before and only slightly more then what it took to become invisible. "I think I might have it now." He commented to Elfrida. "Perhaps you should test it."

Elfrida watched Fenlore closely as he worked out the problem of what she had told him to do. Suddenly he chose to block of Death's flow of energy. It seemed he noticed one of the two ways to succeed. Fenlore disappeared completely, without even a shadow - surprising the present Urgals again. Elfrida threw a rock at Fenlore with the intention of hitting him, and it went through. "Very good." Elfrida said. Now practice using this with your mind rather than out loud. I will not forgive you if you accidentally teach this to someone else." Elfrida began to decide which attack spell would be most useful to Fenlore. Suddenly she had it. The magic was one she had created in honor of someone she had once known, but she had never shared it with anyone. Sköliro kveykva - or Shielded lightning. Elfrida began to use it without words, and sent some lightning towards Fenlore. Once again Elfrida's attack went through, but it hit a desert tree behind him, and completely destroyed it, leaving only charred, smoking remains. "That is the attack spell you will be learning." she said, motioning for the Urgals to leave - which they quickly did.

Fenlore gasped as Elfrida had released the magic at him. It passed harmlessly through him but as it did the destructiveness of the attack drained a large amount of energy. He released the magic and couldn't help but glare at Elfrida. "You hold this type of power?" Fenlore questioned Elfrida. He knew that she was powerful but he felt what that attack was capable of. He knew that if it wasn't for the defensive magic Elfrida had just taught him he would have been obliterated. He knew that she was holding back most of her power. So why did she waist it by training him. Why did she waist her time on him. Why was she even speaking with him? These thoughts now plagued Fenlores mind as he began to realize just how out classed he was by Elfrida.
"Why? Why are you training me? Why are you even associating with me? You should be in the great forests of the Elves. Or standing among the kings of this world. Why are you here? I am below you..." Fenlore said as he looked at Elfrida with utter amazement.

Occ: well I was unsure where to go so Im asking questions I have had for a while.

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. She was finding the situation slightly amusing, but she didn't let it show on her face at all. "This is the power you get when magic takes no energy from you, but from light, and darkness." Elfrida said in response to Fenlore's first question. "These Urgals are friendly towards me, but they are aware that I can destroy their city with less energy than it takes to blink an eye. This is the fearfulness of the power I wield. What type of person are you Fenlore? Do you want that power?" Elfrida changed the end of her statement to a question. Most people wanted this power - that's why Galbatorix tried so hard to get Elfrida on his side.
Elfrida looked at Fenlore when he let out a torrent of questions. "The elves hate me, and my kind of half elf, half werecat. But they hate me much more than any of my people by far. The Varden do as well, and Galbatorix. But all three of these sides seek to obtain me like a tool, and to use me for their own gains." she said, quieter than before. "You are not below me, Fenlore. Your power may not be as great, but you are not below me. Power is not what counts. How you use the power you have been granted does. Never forget that." Elfrida realized she hadn't answered Fenlore's questions as to why she was training him, and why she was there. "Now get back to work so I can teach you!" Elfrida commanded. "Sköliro kveykva takes about the same amount of energy as making yourself invisible if you use it at the level I did, but if you use more energy it becomes much stronger. Sköliro kveykva both shields you, and attacks your enemy. You must learn to use it without saying it's name, because I will kill you if you ever reveal it's name to anyone else without my permission - even if it's an accident." Elfrida's voice became a little stern, and more commanding at the end, but her face softened slightly at the same time.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore turned from Elfrida with a grim face. He knew Elfrida was right that it was not how much power you had but who you used it. He knew that and still he could not place himself as Elfrida's equal. Here she was walking her own path when the whole world hated her and at the same time desired her. Not only that but she was helping him for who knows what reason. Fenlore grinned slightly at Elfrida. "Say what you will but I have seen no reason for any of them to hate you besides the fear of what could happen. Oh and you can answer the other questions later if you don't mind. I would be my mind at ease."
Fenlore then turned away from Elfrida and mouthed the words "Sköliro kveykva". The words held power in them. Power, Fenlore did not know if even wanted power of this magnitude. He knew not what would become of him if he grasped for more power. Things seemed to be moving fast ever sense fate seemed to bring him and Elfrida together. The feeling of the unknown frightened him. "Sköliro kveykva" He said feeding the words just a wisp of power, while concentrating on the ground in front of him. It blackened and cracked as the attack impacted the spot. It was like nothing he has ever done before. Normal application for attack magic for him would be less destructive and consume much more power. The mere sight of a small area of ground become black and deformed with only the use of a wisp of power was frightening him. But he did not give this fear away to those around him.
"Sköliro kveykva" Fenlore said again but softly and feeding the magic more energy this time. A small shrub was the victim this time as it was destroyed with nothing but ashes to remain. Fenlore understood why Elfrida was stern about this knowledge been kept secret. But he wanted to know more about the mechanics of the magic to help him figure out how to create it without speaking. "How does this magic work Elfrida? What sort of reaction creates such a strong force? I can't just be the magic alone. So what is the magic changing that causes this?"

Occ: I think I went a little over board =/

Elfrida looked at Fenlore. He confused her. One moment he almost seemed childish, and the next he seemed very mature. "Perhaps I will tell you all if you complete the third spell I will teach you. But you have to perfect the first two before I even give you a hint of what it is." Elfrida said calmly, watching to see what Fenlore would do. She smiled as he began using Sköliro kveykva, and experimenting with it's powers. In Elfrida's hands, this power was enough to destroy the world, and recreate it the way she desired, protecting only those she desired to live - something she had been tempted to do a couple of times. Elfrida watched as Fenlore used the magic again, releasing more energy. The magic she had created in hopes of seeing that one person again, in hopes that he would clear her name, and she would no longer be hated by both Varden, and Elves. She had created this spell to give to him, knowing his affinity for lightning... Elfrida looked at Fenlore when he asked what else made the magic work, a hint of a tear in her eyes. She did not want to answer, or even think of the answer, but she had to admit it, or she would not be able to go on living. Burn the past, and be free of it... Elfrida reminded herself before finally getting the courage to answer. "Love, and hate." she said quietly, and almost allowing her sadness to break through in her voice. "Greatest Love, and Greatest Hate."

OOC: I know what you mean =)
That one hit a painful spot for Elfrida...

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore looked at Elfrida as she spoke. The walls she had over her emotions were thin and weak and he could see this. He could see her sorrow and how it seemed that just using this magic brought that sorrow to the surface of her mind, but he saw how teaching it to another brought an even greater sorrow to her. As Fenlore observed the mere surface of Elfrida's pain he began to come to a realization of how much she had lost and how it related to his magic. This magic wasn't so powerful because of her ability of limitless magic. It fed off the love she possessed and the hate that opposed that love. The sheer strength of the reaction of those to opposing emotions caused such a reaction that Fenlore knew then that with this amount of power nothing was impossible for her. This reaction that stemmed from the loss in her heart was what he used to see in himself long ago after he killed Orome. He was unsure if everything was the same but the magnitude of the pain was.
Lowering the walls around his mind, while he bowed his head and closed his eyes, he reached for the memories of the day. The sorrow and fear he possessed while he fought his mentor he loved as a son would love a father. The pain he felt as he attacked his guardian in desperation to save his own life. The hate he felt for himself after the fight was over. These were emotions of his that he could relate to what he saw in the surface of Elfrida's emotions. The emotions of love and hate mixed in his mind, it was as if the pain from that day returned. The wounds that had healed seemed to return.
Sköliro kveykva He said in his mind. The words seemed to fit perfectly with the emotions running through his mind.
Lightning crashed all around Elfrida and Fenlore but it touched no living object. Fenlore looked up at Elfrida and bowed his head again. But this time it was a directed bow of respect for her.

Occ: Well I do hope that this was right in line with what you meant about everything....if not let me know I did have another post available to use.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Elfrida was glad Fenlore didn't try to find out anymore about what Elfrida was talking about. She thought it was possible for him to use this spell in a great way because he had mentioned killing his teacher before. Although she knew the type of love, and probably the hate would be a different type, she figured it would be strong enough to allow him to do great things with the magic, and to understand it. Elfrida watched Fenlore as he seemed to bring back his own past pain to use the magic correctly. Elfrida saw how well Fenlore did, she knew how real his pain was from the events of the past. Elfrida saw Fenlore bow his head in respect, but she said nothing, still trying to regain control of her emotions. Finally Elfrida spoke. "You will no longer have any trouble doing this magic wordlessly." she said this quietly, gaining strength in her voice slowly. "Now become completely invisible wordlessly, and I will be ready to teach you the third skill. You can use all three at the same time to your advantage during a battle, and make people think you are a storm." Elfrida's voice, and face had finally regained emotionlessness as she waited for Fenlore to become invisible. "Once this is over I will tell you all you need to, and want to know. Tomorrow you will fight my brother, and then we will go our separate ways. If I ever hear that anyone has defeated you, then I will not be very pleased." Elfrida wished she had longer to train Fenlore, but she couldn't leave the two she guarded for very long, and she already hadn't seen them in awhile. "Learn quickly so I can teach you much." Elfrida said softly.

OOC: I'm gonna be completely gone from tomorrow afternoon to Apr. 3, so I will only be able to respond until about 2:30 PM tomorrow.

Post Re: Fate of a Riders Son
Fenlore nodded his head not able to find words to speak. He reached for magic and repeated the the process of making himself invisible locking away his mind at the same time. That’s how he wished himself right now, invisible to the world. To anyone who would look upon him but at the moment he wished to be away from Elfrida. His greatest shame was just laid before her in a manner he had never told anyone before. She got to see the whole thing happen. Elfrida saw his failure as a student. It was all he could do to keep everything locked in his mind again.
"That would be a useful skill, to make myself out to be a storm. I could storm the empire with a skill like that." Fenlore talked to distract his mind and even tried to chuckle at his play of words. Then his mind drifted to the battle that would take place tomorrow as he heard Elfrida’s words. He decided not to comment on the parting of them just yet. "What does your brother want that I have to stop him from taking?"

Occ: okay, I hope you have a safe trip where ever you are going

Elfrida noticed that Fenlore felt like a failure, and she almost sighed. "Don't be ashamed of the past, Fenlore." she said. "You did what you had to, just as I have done many times. Burn the past, and be free of it. Else it will hinder your future. Can you live with that?" Elfrida mentally noted to teach Fenlore how to make several compartments in his mind for things he didn't want revealed, and things he did. Elfrida watched as Fenlore began to make himself invisible again. "What you have to stop my brother from taking is the lives of all those who are disloyal to Galbatorix, and some who don't even really care. He is after my power, and if he gains that... I'll let you imagine what could happen." Elfrida said slowly. "Now hurry up, or I won't teach you to become the conquering storm!" Elfrida got ready to use the final magic she would teach Fenlore - tornado like wind, and speed.

OOC: Thanks
