Skills: As a Dragon Rider Arston has immense strength and energy. He has a vast knowledge of the Ancient Language and is clever when it comes to using that vocabulary to create new, unexpected spells. He is an excellent swordsman, but only an average shot with his bow. Whenever Galbatorix allows him time away from Uru'baen he likes to hunt and perfect his tracking skills. Since he's not very good with his bow, he'll track his prey and when he deems that he's close enough for it to be honorable, he uses magic to kill it.

Siblings: He has a twin sister, Aero who is a few minutes younger than him.

Character Personality: Arston is a happy, energetic soul, despite being Galbatorix's name slave. He loves to train and spend time with Arturon, his dragon. Most of the time he is forced to remain in Uru'baen with Galbatorix for the king fears that someday he will break free of his oaths, so he spends most of his time training his body and mind. It is common knowledge among the ranks of Galbatorix's Riders, name-slaves and willing soldiers, that Arston and Arturos have sworn to one day free themselves from the king and seek out Arston's younger sister. He loves to read, but he only reads the books that he used to read with his sister. He does this to remind himself of his promise. On the rare occasions that Arston is sent on missions, he and Arturos spend much of their time plotting ways to escape from Galbatorix. Recently they found an ancient book that had a passage on true names. To their delight the excerpt from the book explained that a person's true name is not set in stone, all they have to do is succeed in changing their identities enough that their true names will also change. In preparation for the day that finally happens, Arston has set wards around himself and Arturos that prevent Galbatorix's wards from going off when it does.

Character History: Arston and his twin sister were born in the winter to a reasonably well-off heiress in Drahs Leona. Nobody knows who their father is and their mother always told them that they were better off not knowing. Arien loved her children and she told them that she had loved their father, but when she became pregnant (out of wed-lock) the man left her. Arien was the sole heir to her father's fortune, so the vile man hadn't kicked her out, but he made it clear that he despised his grandchildren and had nothing to do with them. When Arston was only 7 years old, a fire burned down their family home, with their mother and grandfather still inside. Suddenly Arston and his sister found themselves on their own with no one to look after them. Not long after the fire, the greedy steward of Drahs Leona, Marcus Tabor, set his eyes on their family's money. He sent men to arrest the two children and take them to a far away orphanage until they were old enough to take charge of the family finances. In the meantime he would 'watch' it for them. When the Empire soldiers came to take them away, Arston fought them and told Aero to run. He succeeded in knocking the soldiers out, despite being only 7 years old. Before he went to the stables to procure his own mount, he returned to the burned out shell that used to be their home. In the corner of the house that used to be his room, he found what he was looking for. When the house had caught fire, Arston had been in the study with his grandfather. Though the old man had hated the boy and his twin, it had been time for him to pass on the family legacy. And the family secret. Years before the Fall, the patriarch of the family had saved the life of an injured dragon. To show his thanks, the dragon had given the man an egg from the nest of his mate. It was this egg that their grandfather handed to Arston just as the chimney in the kitchen caught fire. Their grandfather had told him to hide it and then get out, and Arston had obeyed.
Little had they known that the whole house would be destroyed, but surprisingly the hiding place had been spared. Arston had found the egg and was saddling his horse to flee when another contingent of Drahs Leona soldiers had appeared. Arston tried to get on his horse and run for it, but they captured him. When Tabor saw the egg in his possession, he immediately sent Arston and the egg to Galbatorix. Not long after he arrived in Uru'baen, the egg hatched. Galbatorix sent for Arston and it was proven that boy was to be the hatchlings Rider. Soon after that Galbatorix discovered their true names and forced them into his service. For the last 12 years Arston and Arturos have served Galbatorix and have hated every minute of it.

Weapons: Sometime during the Fall Galbatorix salvaged a green Rider's sword. It perfectly suits Arston's style of fighting. The blade is long and slender like the man wielding it, but deceptively light. He can either use cutting and slashing techniques, or quicker and more elegant moves. The blade is the same shade of green as Arturos's scales. The cross-shaped guard is made of gold and the horizontal pieces end in dragon heads. The grip is wood wrapped in dark brown leather. The pommel is gold and contains a single emerald. The sheath is green and covered in delicately engraved vines and oak leaves. The blade has the symbol for 'Death' on it. Arston also has a plain hunting bow.

Weakness/Fear: Arston fears that he will never be free of Galbatorix and find his sister.

Appearance: Arston looks exactly like his sister, but his features are the masculine version of hers. He is taller and stronger looking than his sister. He stands 6' 3" tall and is broad shouldered with a narrow waist. His muscles are prominent, but not abnormally large looking. His silvery-blonde hair is shaved rather short on the sides, but about a quarter inch long on top and spiky. His skin is unblemished and lightly tanned from being outside all the time. He wears black leggings and brown boots. Over a green sleeveless shirt he wears mirror polished mail. The only plate armor he wears is on his left arm (his sword arm), his right arm is protected by his mail shirt. (This is also the hand he carries his shield with.) He has black, mail-backed gauntlets that he wears in battle. His lower legs are protected by greaves as highly polished as his other armor. His helmet is shaped like Arturos's head and face, but there is no face-plate, he feels that one would limit his peripheral vision. When he's not wearing his gauntlets, the gedwey ignasia is plainly visible on his right palm.

Dreams: To be free of Galbatorix and find Aero.

Reasons for Dreams: He hates Galbatorix and the things the evil king makes him do. He loves his younger twin and has wished for nothing more than to be reunited with her ever since that night in Drahs Leona.

Alignment/Side: In his heart he fights for good and the Varden, but he is forced to fight for Galbatorix.

Eyes: The same deep green as his scales.

Skills: Arturos is a vicious fighter. He was trained to show no mercy by his master, Shruikan. He uses every advantage he can gain and will not hesitate to kill. He is very adept at using his thick tail as a battering ram. Arturos is one of the few dragons that Galbatorix did not force to grow at an unnatural rate, yet he still learned to breathe fire at just 3 months of age. He mastered control of his fire at only eight months.

Character Personality: While Shruikan may have forced him to be a ferocious and merciless fighter, Arturos is actually a gentle soul. He prefers to be around Arston than the other dragon prisoners of Galbatorix. Most of them have given up hope of escaping the evil king and the despair in their eyes hurts Arturos's heart. He wants nothing more than to help his brother's and sister's, but his oath prevents him from subjecting Galbatorix and Shruikan to his wrath.

Character History: Not long after he hatched, Arston told Arturos the story of how his egg came to be in his family's possession. They assume that the dragon from the tale is his father, but the name of the dragon faded away into time and there was never even a whisper of his mother's name. Sadly for Arturos, he hatched right into Galbatorix's clutches and has been his nameslave along with Arston ever since. He has spent the entirety of his days training alongside Galbatorix's other dragon prisoners, but he hasn't been on as many missions as the others. That's because somehow Galbatorix learned of their plans to try and free themselves. Ever since he's kept them as close as possible to his side. For some reason though, lately he's been sending them on more and more missions. Arturos has a suspicion about that, but he keeps it from Arston, for fear of worrying him and derailing their escape plans.

Appearance: Arturos's scales are a deep green that is similar to the green in Arston's eyes. His body is thick and extremely well muscled. Arturos is an exceptionally strong dragon, with excellent stamina. He is 150 ft in length with a wingspan of 250 ft. His neck and chest are thick like any male dragon, but to the extreme. If he were to hit another dragon in midair, it would be akin to about 3 grown, bull elephants hitting the other dragon.

Weapons: His fire, which is a slightly lighter shade than his scales. His tail, teeth, and claws.

Armor: Arturos has a few plates of armor for his legs, belly and chest. He also has a plain helmet that covers his entire head, except his lower jaw. The metal was sang to as it was forged and is warded to deflect arrows away from his eyes.

Likes: Arston, and from Arston's memories, his Rider's twin Aero

Dislikes: Galbatorix

Weakness/Fear: Arturos's greatest weakness is that he can't move very fast on the ground. In the air he's as quick as lightning, but on the ground? Not so much. His greatest fear is his oath to Galbatorix. He fears that one day Galbatorix will use it to make him do something even more horrible and despicable than he already has.

Dreams: To free himself and Arston and find Aero

Reasons for Dreams: He hates Galbatorix for taking his freedom before he actually had it. Arston loves Aero, therefore nothing is more important to Arturos than finding the girl. (Except maybe gaining his freedom.)
