Many people who like rock music also like classical at my school is that true for any of you?

Well i *used* to like classical, and now i like rock.. if that counts.

I don't know anyone who does. I don't like either.

Rocks pretty good, some is just pointless noise, but I like most of it. Classical (in my opinion) is really boring, and goes on for far too long!

I probably listen to more classical than rock, because it helps me think and feel more relaxed... rock is probably nicer to listen to, but I can't do work or concentrate if there is music with lyrics... and I agree that some music is pointless noise, but that's probably a different genre like metal or hardcore because rock employs a simple drumbeat and guitars/distortion only. I find classical good because it is very well made music - it would probably only bore people who don't study music or learn an instrument etc

i can STAND classical... sometimes. but rock is MUCH better, all in all.

rock appeals to your more base emotions and primitive instincts (heavy thudding beat) whereas classical music is more intellectual/intelligent, created according to laws of counterpoint and harmony.

well mostly but i have heard some rock music that appeals to intilectuals

lol... sry i was a bit vague... i wasnt referring to individuals as such... its just that certain music appeals to certain parts of the brain and emotions etc. i'm not saying that smart people dont like rock and that dumb people cant appreciate classical, just that different music has certain effects on certain thoughts/emotions. i enjoy both... i would probably enjoy rock more

I love rock, but i injoy classical. But i have to be in the mood for classical, i can listen to rock, anytime. And i agree, some rock is just pointless noise.

actually if prefer classic rock! and some heavy metal.
