Dragons were real. But they were hunted to extinction in the middle ages. but it wasnt the dragons fault. it was the europeans fault. they forced them from there territory into cold desolate mountain ranges where they had little water and less food. therefore they had no choice but to feed on the human livestock. the humans eventually got tired of it and killed off the every last one. thats what i know about it.

I just go with what people say in the topics. SO ENOUGH OF THIS NOW!!

i had once watched a movie on dragons. it was one of those history channel archives and it said that they found a perfectly preserved dragon skeleton under the ice floor. it was radical.

Yeah, but so is Father Christmas (Santa or w/e) and unicorns and all that rubbish, it doesn't make them real. I'll admit though, dragons, in my mind, are the most plausible mythical creature because they are similar to dinosaurs, but I still don't think they ever existed.

I, for one, believe they existed without a shadow of a doubt! Too much proof to list! And, being a Dracologist (a person who studies dragons), I would not study something that never existed.

I saw on geocrapfical channel, that some people think we imagine dragons because they are part tiger, part hawk, and part something else for the having scales thing. but i dont belive that, i think they did/do exist because 3 continents all belived in dragons before meeting!

As much as I wish that dragons had existed or still did I don’t think there were ever any true dragons. Just like the Unicorns and Gryphons the dragon is a mythical creature that was used as a symbol to express ideas. St. George of England defeated a dragon; Beowulf of Norse mythology also defeated a dragon in a saga pre dating the St George Legend. In both the dragon symbolized all that was cunning and evil.

Don’t let this bit of information get you down. I am sure if there were dragons they would be both good and evil just like people.

Actually there are such things as unicorns. They just arent as u expected them to be. I think it was the orix or something that to the africans was a unicorn because it had one horn. nd some goats are referred to as unicorns because they are born with one horn. Unicorn just means one-horn so if unicorns extist y cant dragons??? :D

The Rhino and whatever that whale is with the one horn could also be considered unicorns.

Thanks, the Narwal that's it? Now back to Dragons. In Iceland (I have been there) the total north west side of the island is void of people. It is a frozen wasteland. Norse Legend has it that frost giants and Dragons lived/live there.

If you were doing some dragon hunting that would be a good place to start. Just pack some warm clothes!

I went to Iceland in the dead of winter. The sun only came out for about two hours in the middle of the day and even then it was obscured by clouds. I was there for two weeks and never actually saw the sun.

I am big into Norse Mythology, so went nuts looking for old sagas and stories while I was there. With the landscape (black rocks, hot springs, blowing snow) it is easy to imagine a dragon or frost giant waiting over the next ridge.

I would like to go back in the summer sometime. From what I heard it is really green.

This coming summer I will be going to wales for a museum exploration trip. My goal is to find new historical swords to reproduce. I will be going to all the castles as well! July needs to hurry up and get here!!

That is why I am going in the summer, though it will still be raining it won't be as cold. I am also going south to Hedingham and Framlingham Castles in Suffolk as well.

Haven't we all! I have been to a lot of castles and old buildings and have never found anything (after 500 years of being picked over there is usually not much left). I was in Spain about 3 years ago where you see castles throughout the countryside. We would just stop the car and explore. There were a few where farmers just put their goats in to keep them out of the sun! Can you imagine, having a castle and using it to put your goats in? Most of these were falling down and of course were just empty shells. It would be awesome to fix one up and live in it, but that would take more money than I will see unless I win the lottery.
