I'm far more on the side that "dragons" are a conflagation of all of humanities greatest fears (reptiles, large carnivores, out of control flames, flying animals (inherited from our period as small mammals) and various other fears) projected into a single creature. The actual existence of such a creature, of a western variety (because an animal like an eastern just can't exist) is unlikely given anatomical impossibility (yes, I know that bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly). If you believe that's fine, I just don't see where the evidence is.

there is written proof that something like a dragon did exist. it's been proven...slightly.

superstitious is when you walk under a ladder and have bad luck. Lords or whoever told the knight to go and kill a dragon, so either the books are wrong or the knights killed all the dragons

That a good point, but do we even know draons look like what we imagin them? Some countries view how dragons look differently that others. For all we know when ancient people found dinosaur bones they could have mistook them as dragons.
