Post Re: The quest of death
Faefnir stepped in front of him. Halt! I said that all the people's of Alagaesia must unite to survive. We can't have dissent already! Faefnir turned towards the mountain dragons. I am grateful you are here. Now, Eriel has told me that Silthrim is under attack now. Ilea Feon is gone. I am also told by Hrothgar that although Galfni is taken, the mountains and the dwarven guerrillas are hampering their advance on Tronjheim. So we have time. Galbatorix, take your troops and Shruikan to Silthrim. Faefnir pulled out a map. We are here. He pointed at the mountains in the center of the desert. From what I have seen, the entire neck of the forest here, between Ceris and north to Ardwen Lake along the Eldor River, is completely razed. If the draconians really are that stupid, they are probably moving in a straight line, right along where they burned the forest. So here is what we will do. We will travel north and follow their path. When we reach Silthrim, they will have many thousands of troops there. We are greatly outnumbered, I would estimate maybe fifteen to one. But therein lies the true battle: it's our wits against their brute strength. If we act intelligently, the battle will be ours and their campaign in Du Weldenvarden will not neccessarily come to end, but it will be stopped for the moment. Faefnir quickly scryed Silthrim. He saw Eriel standing on top of a huge wall with Emrhyst standing beside him. Yes, they do have a wall. This gives us a huge advantage. If we just follow the path, we will run into their back flank. This will help divide their forces and make it easier for us to win. Star, you and your people arm yourselves with rocks and you will fly ahead of us. Use the rocks to crush the draconian army and seperate their forces. Divide them. After the bombing run is over, do whatever you wish to them. Galbatorix, Shruikan, march with your men on foot. It will help boost their morale. You must keep in mind that out of all all the one's here, your soldiers will be the one's most at risk, for they can at least glide, which will make fighting harder for them. We need all the morale we can get from them if we are to survive. Are we ready? Is the strategy clear? Then let's go.

OOC: caterpillar faefnir! you called me a 'him' again!! That's just...just... rude!

IC: "Archers!" A great cloud of arrows came down on the creatures like angry wasps. The ladders went up, and with them, the creatures. "Faefnir, what are these!?" The elves fell one by one. Slowly but surely. "We're being obliberated here!" She spied two of them rushing towards her from the left and right. She nocked her bow with 2 arrows and with the same hand which would release the arrows, her sword. The first one came, she thrust her sword deep into the abdomen of the creature. And then released the arrows. "Battering rams!" "Thud." "Thud" "THUD" The gates fell. The pikemen below stabbed frantically, archers took every advantage they could get, dirty or not. "Back to the keep!" They all ran towards the doors. "I'll hold them off for now" Eriel stood infront of the doors with her dragon. A lieutenant strode forwards. He drew his sword and Eriel drew hers. They looked at each other, limbs trembling. With a hoarse shout the lieutenant leapt forwards and caught her on the calf. She stumbled and fell. As the Lieutenant got ready to deal the finishing blow, Eriel jumped up and perform an uppercut which sliced him in half. The dragon like creatures surrounded her. And then, the keep doors were shut. Well then little one, that's our cue! Eriel said afew words and teleported her dragon and herself into the keep. With her mind, she told Feafnir, "We are dead... They have taken the wall and the courtyard. We are now in the keep. tell us when our reinforcements arrive, we shall charge out of the keep during that time in a pincer attack.

Star Gazer spread her mighty wings and lifted herself into the air. She then landed beside Grothar. The leader of their dragon army. " Are they ready?" She asked.
" As ready as they will ever be." Grothar said.
" Let's leave then." Star Gazer said and then launched herself into the air and sped away to the war.

"We are not waiting anymore Faefnir. Our suplies are running low, we will charge now, when their making themselves comfortable." Turning to the elves, she said. "We must fight now. Our supplies run low and I have no intention of giving up the weak and the maimed just for an extra meal or two. Wear your armour, we leave at dawn." Turning to the elf rangers there, she said, "Well... I have a job for you, take the back door and sneak into the back of the creatures. Turn on them once you see the keep doors being opened." They bowed and went to their posts. Sunrise soon came. Its glorious golden light beaming down upon both elves and dragon-like creatures. The keep doors opened and once again they blew their horns, except this time, it was a victory song. "Forward elves!" They charged, breaking enemy formations. Eriel met the commander in the center of the army and slew him with a swift sword thrust. "Rangers!" The elves behind blew cover and turned on the creatures. They fled the scene, never to return to Du Weldenvarden. Without a word, Eriel mounted Emrhyst and flew to the Hadharac Desert.

Eriel, no! But it was too late. By the time they got there, the army was gone and Silthrim stil remained. He found Eriel and Emrhyst. Are you crazy?! We were almost here! Now it will be much more difficult to defend Tronjheim! No matter. We can count on the vigilance of the dwarves. Star, send your people to Tronjheim. I will provide a spell so you may fly over the top. Galbatorix, turn around now. The battle is over. We must go to Tronjheim now. Eriel, could you arrange these men to have horses so they won't be tired when the fighting at Tronjheim starts? Let's go. Eriel, I will talk with you later. Right now, we must get to Farthen Dur. Let's go.

IC: When they arrived in Tronjiem, the first thing Eriel did was search for Feafnir. "You asked for me?" Eriel asked, her voice betraying nothing though she was hurt inside.

Post Re: The quest of death
OCC. alright.. im going to try to come up with something here and fit it in with the story....

- As time went by, Fankor felt more guilty about leaving the other dragons and riders, expecially Reb behind. He knew he would be of little help to the others, yet it would make him feel a lot better knowing that he did something to help Alegasia. " Laverra, I feel horrible leaving the others behind. We must do something, something to help them," Fankor said as he lay in the barn next to his Dragon. Laverra, who was lting down and keeping very quiet, lifted her head and glanced at Fankor. Fankor could just tell what she was going to ask by the look on her face, yet he had no answer.... " But What..., What could we do to help..." Fankor slowly drifted to sleep while thinking extremely hard of ideas that could help Alegasia from these monsters.
The next morning, Fankor woke up to a pounding on the barn floor. Lavarra Jumped up from her sleep with a sort of confused look on her face. She then run and burst through the doors of the barn and daced into the forest. "What is it Laverra...What is it?," Fankor tried to talk to her over and over again, only to get no answer back. Fankor quickly grabed his bow and dashed into the woods after his dragon. He finally came into sight of Laverra. Fankor was very confused when he saw Laverra looking into the river. "Well... What was it girl?," Fankor asked. "She.... She told me to come here,... To come her and speak to her," She replied back. " Who told you to come here... and when?" " She came to me in my sleep... but when i asked for her name... she disappeared." " Are you sure it wasnt just a dream?" " Maybe, but when I woke up, It felt like something was drawing me here, but I guess it was nothing," She layed down and rested her head on her feet as she stared at her reflection in the water. Just then The water stared to bubble as if it was ready to boil. Steam shot into the air as started to form into a familiar shape. " What the...," was all Fankor could say when Laverra shouted over the hissing of the steam.. " It's her... the one from my dream...". Fankor noticed the cloud took the shape of another dragon. he saw Laverra wanted to have a conversation of her own so he nodded his head and walked a short distance away from the river.
" Young one... I am the one who has called you here. It is of great importance that i speak to you, but I must make it short... my time is only limited here," said the steaming dragon. Laverra had my questions, but the steaming dragon continued talking before she could say anything. " As you know, Alegasia is under attack. The force attacking us is huge... Millions, if not tens of millions of these creatures are arriving as we speak, not to mention the ones that have been here for quite some time. They are very strong opponents, and may seem impossible with there numbers, But they have a huge weakness... A weakness that will give you a great advantage when fighting against them. The only problem is... I don't know what this weakness is...." Laverra noticed the dragon puased for a few seconds and took advantage of the situation to ask a question. " Well if you don't know there weakness, who does... and where can I find him." The steaming dragon smiled at Laverras question as she said," Only your Father knows of this weakness, but unfortunately i have no idea where he can be found..." The dragon started to fade and disappear into the air... " I don't have much more time but you must find your father and that will be the Key to saving all of Alegasia. Now... I must go...," the dragon stared to whisp away into the wind. " Wait! wait!... Wait...," Laverra shouted as the dragon disappeared. " I need to know who you are...," she said again, but was to late as the dragon disappeared completely. Just then, a whisp of wind rushed past Laverra's face as she heard, " Young one,... I am your mother," Laverra listened as the voice faded and a tear rolled from her eyes.
Fankor finally came back around the river and rubbed Laverra on the back. "What happened girl," Fankor asked as Laverra explained the whole situation to him. Laverra then said," Comeon Fankor... We must find Star and Faefnir and tell them about my father, For all of Alegasia is at stake!"-

OCC- ok, iadded a lot and i hope you like it... it is a very interesting twist to prolong the story a bit 8)

Post Re: The quest of death
OOC: ahhh, fascinating. I will be sure to include that when the time is right.

As Faefnir landed in Tronjheim with Galbatorix and Shruikan, he could already tell the alarm was raised in the dwarven capital. Galbatorix, Shruikan, stay here in the dragonhold and let me clear this mess up. The dwarves will not appreciate Imperial presence here, so I suggest you keep out of sight until the time is right. "Yes Faefnir. But I warn you, we will not be kept here long. Shruikan thirsts for blood." Faefnir acknowledged this comment, then took off into the city. He saw Hrothgar standing in center of the complex and Faefnir landed in front, taking care not to injure any of the dwarves. Be still Hrothgar, for I am an ally. Tell me what our situation is. Hrothgar had met Faefnir on a few ocassions, so he knew the dragon was trustworthy. "Faefnir, the draconian armies have razed Galfni. Our scouts report that nothing is left of the city. But we have many reinforcements that escaped the city. At the moment, we have 10 thousand dwarves protecting the city, along with another 10 thousand that are expected from Galfni. The children that are too young to fight have been grudgingly sent to Surda. We don't know where they are now." 20 thousand will not be enough to defend Tronjheim, although I do admire dwarven vigilance. But there is still hope. I'm sure the Imperial troops are quartered properly? "Wait, those Imperial troops are with you?! I thought you hated the Empire?!" I do, and trust me, it's not a decision I took lightly. But I can assure you this much. Galbatorix may not be loyal to me or you, but he is loyal to the draconian defeat and he will serve me until such time that they are permanently defeated. So are they quartered properly? "No, we imprisoned every single one of them. Their cells are extremely cramped with all the men that are in each one." Release them now! Galbatorix or his men will not fight alongside you knowing that they were imprisoned, even on accident. We can only trust that they are forgiving, or at least forget it when the draconian army approaches. How are the draconians getting here? "Through the mountain passes. We collapsed all the tunnels and the people of Galfni know the mountains very well. They can evade the draconians." Good. That only gives us one entrance we must defend. Unless the draconians are able to go over the mountain. So here is what we must do. The gate can protect itself for a time. But we must be ready in case the draconians are able to go over the mountain. So, get your best dwarven smithies to the top and carve off all those icicles up there, big and small. I will provide breathing for them. When all the icicles are off, attach them to the floor of Isidar Mithrim. If the draconians are really that stupid, they should fall right into the trap. And we should have plenty of time if they don't know the mountain passes. So get them to work! Time is short. Then Faefnir mumbled a few words that caused the smiths to have air bubblesaround their noses and mouths. Faefnir hoped their skill could be just as useful in this as they are with their weapons.

Star Gazer landed next to Faenfir. " The dragons are here and waiting for their comand." She said and then looked to the dwarven king.
" Dear Star Gazer, how long has it been?" He asked and wrapped his little arms around her neck. Star Gazer bent her head and prummed deeply.
" To long master dwarf." She said and then let him to the ground. " I am here to fight for the safety of this mountain." She said looking around.
" Judging by how you fought at the last battle we met, your dragon army will have no trouble beating these beasts. And thank you again for saving my family from the soldiers." Hrothgar said and then bowed to her.
" It was no problem. And your thanks is welcomed." She said to him then took flight again. Hrothgar turned to Faefnir.
" Good choice." He commented and smiled knowingly at Faefnir. And laughed at the confused look the great dragon gave him as if he didn't know what he was talking about.

Eriel approuched Feafnir. "If you think the elves are all gone then you are wrong." She smiled a little. "Look behind me." Behind Eriel were 4000 Archers, 1500 Spell weavers, 3000 swordsmen and 2500 pikemen. She laughed at Feafnir's agape expession when he saw this. Without waiting for him to ask how they got here, Eriel continued, "They took some armour and hid within the ranks of the imperial troops." After she said this, the 'soldiers' behind removed their armour and helms to reveal green, white and gold armour along with pointed ears. "Don't ask me why I hid them Feafnir, you should know."

- Laverra and Fankor were flying alone. They had no idea of where to go nor an idea on where they were going. The pair have never left there home town. everything was new to them, although Laverra flew silently Like she knew where she was going. " Laverra, are you ok? youve been silent this whole flight... And i dont even have a clue on where your flying to," said Fankor. "I have no clue on where im going Fankor. im just flying anywhere theses wings of mine take me... Im sorry I've been so quiet, it's just that there is alot going through my head right now... Its almost to much to handle.," Laverra answered back,"We must find him... the whole country rlies on us finding my father." Time went by as the pair kept on flying and flying. They eventually ended up landing on a single mountain in the midle of a flat, Grassy plain. Fankor Hopped of Laverra's back and streched his legs. He walked around a bit until he heard a very familiar sound... " Lethrblaka!!!," Fankor screamed as three of the creatured appeared in the distance. Fankor Ran and jumed on Laverra as she took off into the air... Fankor notched his bow and took aim at one of the filthy beasts...-

Faefnir watched over the dwarven smiths as they started working on his plan. He carefully supervised each detail and he was continuously telling them what to do and helping them when neccessary. They had just finished carving the icicles off of the top when a familiar sound hit his ears: the distant blowing of a draconian war horn. He heard it also as they started the battle of Silthrim. He guessed they were a mere day's march away, maybe less. He pushed the smiths onward in their work, then spoke to Star. Star, send the mountain dragons to meet the draconian. Use the same strategy we were supposed to do at Silthrim. Use all the rocks you can find and bomb them. Eriel, begin to organize the elvish spellweavers and archers. Galbatorix, your presence here is known now. Go down and get your troops ready. "Yes Faefnir." As you wish, my lord. Faefnir stared at Shruikan. Please don't call me that. It makes me uncomfortable. Shruikan chuckled, then took off. God, I hate that dragon. I can't wait for this thing to be over that way I can tear out his throat. Faefnir pushed these malevolent thoughts out of his head, then went back to work.

Star Gazer launched into the air followed by the seventy dragons of the mountain. She was in the front. All dragons had large rocks in their claws and as they met the army the first twenty released their rocks and squished a little part of the army. Archers took aim and a few dragons fell to the ground. Star pulled up as arrows wizzed past her head. She swooped low and spat black fire at them, and then took to the sky again. Rocks kept raining down upon them.

Eriel stood at the front of the elves. They stood in formation with drawn swords and nocked bows. As the creatures came, the swordsmen raised their shields, the archers behind took aim. '[i[Twang!' Arrow after arrow shot off into the ranks of the creatures, swordsmen hacking and stashing their way through, moving fluidly. Emrhyst joined the mountain dragons and rained rocks upon the army.

- Fankor shot the arrow but the lethrblacka swiftly dodged it. " How are we going to beat them. Now that there attention is only on us, they are much to fast for me to even hit them with an arrow.," Fankor said. "Laverra, speed up a little and we can spread some distance in between them." Lavarra sped up just like Fankor asked. They were able to spead some distance for a few secs, But the lethrblacka's cuaght right back up with the pair. Fankor started shooting arows like crazy at the beasts..., Sometimes up to three at a time, But it was of no use. All the arrows did was give Fankor and laverra some distance from them. Just then, an idea hit Fankor. " Laverra, light my arrow on fire." Fankor thought the heat from the arrow might be able to distract the lethrblacka's while he shot more arrows right after it. Laverra lit up the arrow and fankor shot it right in the middle of the group of beasts... Then some thing unexpected happened. Fankor felt as some of his energy was drawn with the arrow, and when he looked up the arrow exploded into hondreds, if not thousands of tiny missiles the hit the Lethrblacka's with incredible force. Fankor didnt know what happened, or it the creatures were dead, but he took the chance for him and laverra to fly out of there fast....-

Post Re: The quest of death
OOC: hallelujah! we r back in business!

Faefnir stared at the oncoming army. This is it, he thought. The first confrontation. As the draconians started making their war cries, Faefnir reared back his head and roared. Then Shruikan, who was by his side, joined Faefnir in his roar. He heard the mountain dragons and Star roar in the distance. The draconian army charged at the Allied force. Then Shruikan took off, his eyes becoming a very strange shade of red. Faefnir roared, then took off also. He quickly felt the sting of draconian blades. Ouch, they are are fast! He looked to the left and saw several draconians fly up and try to grab Shruikan towards the main body of the army. Faefnir swept in and, with most accuracy, swiped the draconians off with his tail. As Faefnir looked up, he saw the trap working. Hundreds of draconians were already impaled upon the icicles. He smiled, then went back into the battle.

Post Re: The quest of death
Star and her dragons had succefully squished that part of the army. She did a back flip and headed back for some rock. Reb got down from her back and stood before her dragon. Zantya took control and lit her blade on fire. It touched star's scales and she transformed into a red and black dragon with a wing span that no other dragon could match. Her eyes were a bright blood red and her scales pulsed with new color and vigor. " A dragon shade." Zantya laughed even though her dragon was not possesed by shades. Star was overtaken by the force to kill. She couldn't reason with the voices inside her head. She lept off the rock and lunged into battle.

The battle wasn't faring well for the elves though. They fought and fought, but all they got was loss of energy and more draconians. Eriel was already wounded in the cheek and arm, her blood covered parts of her robe. She grabbed afew arrows and loosed them all at once, saving several elves who had fallen to the ground. Then, a draconian caught her in the back, she turned around with the battle axe stuck in her back. Her eyes started to burn black. She put her palm on the abdomen of the draconian and muttered ,"Vindr." The draconian started to swell then burst into several pieces, its dark blood drenched Eriel was head to toe.

- Time went by and Fankor felt much better as they kept putting more distance between them and the lethrblacka's, But he still had no idea what happened. It was like magic, yet Fankor didn't know any of the ancient laguage at all. " Maybe your bow felt the magical energies in your body and combined it with my flame," Laverra said. "Maybe,... I did feel like some energy was sapped right from me," Fankor answered back through his mind, " Well it doesnt matter now. we need to meet up wit the group and maybe we can ask Reb and Star or Faefnir later on." Laverra just nodded and flew on into the distance, still with no idea of where to go, or where they were going...-

well heres something to get us gonig... ill be on alot till weds, then till next monday ill be away, but ill still be popping in ever now and then, i just don't know how much :? hmm i may get a post going in suicide mission if you 2 dont mind idk bout tonight though...

OOC: hallelujah! he's back! we can finally get something going! and sure, you can post in there. I have no problem.

Faefnir saw the ranks breaking. Although the trap was working above Isidar Mithrim, the draconian army was too big to hold off. Faefnir thought of some way that they could turn the tide of the battle. He flew high above the battle to see what was happening. On the northern flank, the elvish ranks were beginning to break. The Imperial soldiers and Galbatorix were holding firm in the center and the dwarves were holding firm on the southern flank. As he put on his air mask to swoop over the top of the mountain, he saw the mountain dragons doing a very good job of bombing the draconians with rocks and dodging their archers. It appeared that the battle wasn't going as bad as Faefnir thought, though the draconians were still very strong. He knew not a single one must survive otherwise Tronjheim would fall in the counterattack. He made up an ingenious plan. He extended his thoughts so all the Allies could hear him. OK everybody. Here is what we must do to prevail over the draconian force. Hrothgar, do you and your men know all the tunnels under Tronjheim? Hrothgar responded with a yes. Good. Eriel, take the elves with Hrothgar and his squad. I want you two to circle around the draconian forces and come up behind them. Help the mountain dragons decrease their numbers from the back and ensure not a single one escapes. Galbatorix, send your back army to where the elves were. Star, continue what you are doing. You are doing a great job. Come everyone. The sooner we destroy the draconians, the sooner we can recover and get ready for the next battle. Let's go! Faefnir decided that he join Star gazer and her people outside and help bomb the draconians.

Star watched as draconian warriors dragged five dragons to the ground. " Blow their damned heads off." She roared and ten dragons swooped and attacked the draconian's using their claws. The five captive dragons launched into the air as did the ten rescuers. Star was to busy watching her dragon's to see the draconian warriors that were behind her. They grabbed her tail and dragged her into a horde of them. She thrashed around, and killed a bunch with her tail spike. Just enough to launch into the air and out of their grasp.
OCC: I don't mind.

IC: Eriel started to wheeze as the pain in her back exercabated. She managed to order the elves to retreat to the dwarves before her legs buckled. A nearby elf removed the axe and carried her back into the elvish ranks. The elves nearby gasped as they saw her eyes burning black. She smiled a little then got the elf to put her down. She then started to run with the elves back towards tronjhiem, all the while staying in the rear healing her back and launching arrows into the army.

Fankor and Laverra were getting a little tired and decided to land on a near-by mountain. " Lets rest here for a while," said Fankor. Laverra agreed as she layed down next to the fire that they started. A few minutes past when Laverra thought she heard what sounded like more dragons. "Fankor, do you hear that," She asked. Fankor listened and nodded his head. He jumed on Laverra's back and went to check it out. As the cleared the next peak, they saw tons of dragons fighting off one of the draconian armies. Fankor and laverra flew over to one of the dragons. " Who is in charge here and where can we find them," Fankor asked the Dragon. "That would be Star Gazer and her rider Reb. As to wear you can find them, there here somwhere in the middle of this fight," The dragon answered back. Fankor was relived when the dragon said that Reb and Star Gazer were here. Fankor tried to contact Reb through her mind. "Reb, are you there, it's Fankor."

Faefnir smiled as he heard Fankor contact Star gazer through their shared mental link. Lavarra! It's Faefnir! What are you two doing here? This is too dangerous! Faefnir iced several draconians that were trying to pull a dragon down, but they immediately broke it with their immense strength. Realizing that ice breath would only break and their scales were very resilient to fire, Faefnir swooped down underneath the dragon and got the draconians onto him. As the other dragon got away, Faefnir realized he completely underestimated the draconians strength. Despite his great wingspan and even greater strength, they were still pulling him closer to the horde. With one great swing from his wings that strained his muscles, he managed to break free and get away from them.

" I'm fine. We could use your help though." She called and swooped down low and brought a draconian into the air with her claws. She roared and ripped it's head off with her teeth and let's body fall and crush other draconians. Zantya stood on her dragon's back and drew her sword. As a draconian launched at her she lit on fire and it let go with a shriek and fell back. Her entire body lit into an inferno.

IC: Eriel ran to Hrothgar and related the plan to him which was quickly accepted. With hoarse shouts of, "Akh sartos oen durgrimst!" The dwarves rushed into the tunnels just as Galbatorix's men covered their retreat. In the tunnels, each elf was accompanied by two dwarves as they climbed the winding tunnels. Eriel stayed at the back.

Emrhyst roared as several Draconians started to pull ehr down. She growled at one of them and bit his head off then flew back into the air just to swoop down again, catch a draconian in her claws, and throw him back down onto the rocks below.

Is this battle in our favor right now?" Fankor finish what he was saying and fired some arrows into the oncoming horde, pircing three of them straight through the skull. As Faefnir broke away from the horde and escaped, he answered Fankor's question. The battle is going fine. But I suggest you get inside and stay safe. It's too dangerous for one as young as you and Laverra to stay out here. Faefnir almost felt like their father, telling them to go inside and stay safe. As he swooped down to grab several other draconian soldiers, he saw the elves, Eriel, and Hrothgar's squadron file outside behind the draconian forces. He thought they wouldn't last long, but a new sight from the east gave him great joy. He landed on a short peak to get a better look. From the east came a great host of 10 thousand dwarves from Galfni. He bugled their coming and roared in triumph as the Galfni dwarves charged into the draconian rear flank, destroying any of the foul creatures that got in their way. Faefnir smiled, then rejoined the battle.

Star saw Laverra and Fankor. " Battle is not for the new dragonriders. We need you alive. But you can make sure that Galby's forces don't go down. I'm sorry but it's too dangerous."Star said to her friends. She knew it would be hard to take that message. Star dove and did a full one eighty spin and Zantya fell in the midst of the draconians. She lit into an inferno again and drew her sword. It's blade turned to pure fire. Star smiled.

As silent as the wind and as fast as lighting the elves crept towards the draconian army and started to attack. Several seconds later the dwarves came up behind them, wrecking havoc wherever their axes landed. Eriel laughed as a draconian atempted to decapitate her but missed by a hair's breadth then plunged her sword deep into its abdomen.

Emrhyst flew to Fankor. I'll stay beside you till the fight ends or ym rider calls me. She roared and chomped down on a draconian fitting an arrow to the string.

The only problem was that only Laverra's father knows of this weakness, and we have no idea where he could be found," Fankor said. Faefnir slowly came out of his battle state-of-mind as the Galfni dwarves finally collidded with the draconian forces. Hundreds of them fell dead as the axes of Hrothgar's men and the Galfni dwarves found their mark, not to mention to amazing spellweavers of Du Weldenvarden. He thought over this carefully. Laverra, I'm afraid none of us can help you. You and you alone could know where to find him. We will keep them at bay at the front lines, but you and Fankor must do this alone. This is your first test as a dragon and Rider. I can tell you that finding your father will take the both of you to very dangerous places, and it's possible you may not escape with your life. But if you succeed, you will be placed in the most treasured annals of Alagaesian history. You will be known as the saviors of Alagaesia, the greatest pair to ever grace this world. But beyond hampering the draconians on the battlefield, there is nothing more we can do.

Before this, We have never left the outskirts of Surda. Anyone's help would majorly shorten the search." Fankor remembered the fight with the lethrblaka he and Laverra had. " I barely know how to cast any magic at all. If eriel comes maybe she can even help me understand the language," Fankor added.-

*sigh* You two don't understand do you? they have to do it alone. Letting you two go will only endanger you're lives even more. I am the only one who knows what he is facing. So... An epiphany suddenly hit him. So I must go with him. You two are right. He can't do it alone. Star gazer, Emrhyst, I will guide him. I'm trusting you two to protect Alagaesia while we are searching. Fankor, you shant have to do this alone. I will go with you. Meet me in Isidar Mithrim. As he sped away from the battle to Isidar Mithrim, he relayed the message to Shruikan. What?! I am not going to fight under the command of that she-dragon and that witch of a Rider! You leave and we leave! Faefnir shook his head. I'm sorry. But it's for the better of Alagaesia. I must do this. Prove treacherous and I will tear your head off, Shruikan! He pulled away contact, then spoke to Star gazer. Star, keep a close eye on Shruikan. He did not take to the news very well. Ill will certainly come of this.

" Please be careful." Star pleaded with him. " I will not live if something happens to you." She added. Then smiled. " I shall enjoy cracking the whip at Shruikan. She dragon. Bah! I'm a dragoness. Not a she-dragon. How degrading. And witch rider? She is a shade." Star said to Shruikan and heard his roar of frustration. She smiled as she dove and pile drove a draconian who had been sneaking up on Reb.

OOC: Fankor is the rider and Laverra is the dragon right?

IC:Eriel laughed, "Okay then, we're staying oh great mighty dragon." She added the last words with humour in her voice then before plunging back ino the battle, she linked her mind with Fankor and transfered some of her healing spells to him. "Use this in great need only." Emrhyst roared with anger then snorted in irritation. It can't be helped I guess, Star gazer on her own can't defend all of Alagaesia.

OCC. yea...

"Thanks alot eriel. I'm sure these will be of great help," fankor said to her through his mind. "Good luck to you both Star and Emrhyst. We wish you and your riders the best," Laverra said as she got ready to take off. " Ready?," she asked Fankor and Faefnir, and she lept off the ground into the air.

Before Faefnir took off after Laverra, he spoke one more thing to his mate. Star, be strong. I know you are capable of doing this. Keep Emrhyst close. It will be on her shoulders that the future will be laid. Faefnir hoped she would understand his words, for he had a feeling that it will be on Emrhyst that the future of Alagaesia depended on. He took off and quickly caught up with Fankor and Laverra. He took one last look at the great mountain of Farthen Dur and the battle that raged on the outside. He looked towards where the mountain dragons were and saw the distinct form of Star gazer. He fought holding back tears and refocused his attention to what lay ahead. So Laverra, tell me about this dream of yours.

Emrhyst eyed Shruiken suspiciously. She din't hate him as much as Star Gazer did but she din't trust him, not after what he did to her. Eriel frowned as her dragon's thoughts traveressed across their mental link. Emrhyst roared and plunged her talons into a Draconian, saving her rider.

" Well thats ok, it looks like we will just have to start from scratch," Fankor said Looking to Faefnir for an answer-

OOC: I'm going to use a great Saphira :D quote on this one, slightly altered for copying purposes.

Faefnir shook his head solemnly. I'm just here to protect you with knowledge I have gained. Only you know where to find him. You wonder how you find him. That much I can tell you. Follow your heart, for it is your one true guide. Nothing less than it's supreme desire can help you. Faefnir pulled away from the contact so they could ponder his words.

" Lacorda!" Star roared as a green dragon was killed by the draconian. Star had known that dragon since she was born. Star let a tear slide down her face and she plumeted to the earth for her friends body. The draconians smirked as they surounded Star, who was covering Lacorda's body with her own. She roared and dug her claws into her friend and lifted off, but Lacorda was a big dragon and wieghed a lot. Star heaved with all her might. It was heavy one second and then it got lighter. She looked over her shoulder and saw Woodrew had a hold of her back legs. " Thank you." Star said to him.
" We couldn't let you get hurt. Queen." Efriam said as they laid Lacorda on the stones high enough that the disgusting draconians couldnt' use her as food. She then launched back into battle.

" Well my mothers rider was an elf... maybe if we started around there...," Laverra said to Fankor. " Yea that does sound like a plan, but would we be welcomed into the land of the elves," Fankor asked Laverra and waited to see if Faefnir overheard. " I don't see why not if we just tell them who we are, and I assume Faefnir is known by the elves well," Laverra answered back. " Well i guess that settles it then. Faefnir which way to Ellesmera? That is unless you don't think we should head there," Fankor said.

Faefnir shook his head. If Laverra feels if we should go to Du Weldenvarden, then we go. But we will need some help first, from one who knows the forest like the back of his... well, he can't see the back of anything really. Faefnir chuckled, then called his old friend, the White Stag of Feldunost, to them. He saw the immortal deer catch up to them quickly. His coat and antlers were stained black with draconian blood, but that didn't diminish his beauty any. He chastised Faefnir. How dare you leave me behind! Well, we are going on a dangerous quest. I didn't want to endanger you. Pah! Nothing is too dangerous for me. So what do you need my help for? We need help navigating Du Weldenvarden. Laverra believes we can find some answers in Ellesmera. Hmmm, tell me what this little quest is. Then I will agree to help you. Agree to help us and I will tell you on the way. Very well. Laverra, just follow us. We should be on the borders of Du Weldenvarden in no time. After that, we will need to walk to Ellesmera. The elves have many spells that protect them from the sky, so flight would be impossible. Just stay close to us and the Stag will lead us to safety.

Emrhyst recoiled at Star Gazer's ferocity. She didn't have to do anything, it too much reminded her of a very very enraged Feafnir. She flew a distance away and did some 'claw work' Eriel smiled as a Draconian lunged at her only to miss and hit his comrade. She twirled her dagger and stabbed the draconian with it, its black blood drenched her lower robe.

- "So he is familiar with the elves then," Laverra asked Faefnir about the Stag ," Is he familar with names of some elven families? I think my mothers rider's last name was Neitziot, Maybe there are so decendents of his family that my be able to tell us a little more about my mother." This idea sounded great to Fankor. If they found some relitives of that family, he wished much to talk to them. He and Laverra were growing so close that he even thought of her father as a second father to him. Meeting these relitives would be like meeting cousins or even brothers and sisters he had never met before. " Excellent idea Laverra. For not noing much about your father in the start, your really thinking this over briliently," Fankor answered Laverra who gave a friendly growl, acknoledging the compliment.-

The Stag shook his head. First of all, Laverra can speak directly to me. So you don't have to relay information to me through Faefnir. Secondly, I am not familiar with the elves. I ventured rarely into their cities and never made many elf friends. I only know the forest, not the people who live in it. If it's family lineage you want, Faefnir would have a better chance of telling you. Faefnir shook his head as well. I made some elf friends, but I never found anything about families. The elves are particularily secretive about that information. As far as I see it, we will have to go through a lot of pain to get at least a little bit of information from them. Now, I do know Islanzadi very well. She may be able to help us gain that access.

Reb asked, hoping it would come through the connection and get to Faefnir.

The Stag contacted Laverra. We are still about one days flight away from the edge of the forest. Dusk is coming as well, so I suggest we make camp. I heartily agree with you. We may not see any draconians out here, the desert should keep them away from the Empire. But there other things we need to look out for. And besides, I'm tired. I haven't stopped flying for several hours since the draconian armies marched on Tronjheim. Faefnir started circling down to an outcropping of rocks where they could keep an eye on the surrounding countryside and keep safe. As he circled down, he heard a faint message come from Star gazer. It was hard to hear, but decipherable. Star, you must understand that this will take a long time. There are many roads to travel, but only one will lead us home. Besides, I suggest you start pulling the dragons and others out. The draconian numbers are relatively small now. The dwarves can take care of them now. Tell Hrothgar to keep the Galfni dwarves on their back flank while the Durmgrimst Ingeitum assault them from the front. Just keep driving forward until they are all destroyed. After that, return to the desert lair. Find out where the draconians are going to strike next.

Star sped to relay the message and told what Faefnir had told her. Her dragons began to pull out but there was one that got trapped in a bunch of them. A fifty year old one. Star roared and swooped down to help him. The dragon then lifted off the ground and flew away from the draconians when she freed him, but she didn't see it coming. An axe colided with her soft neck scales and blood spattered the ground. She roared in pain. " Faefnir." She said through their connection then everything went dark. She could barely feel Shruikan when he lifted her off the ground and carried her away from the battle.

Emrhyst roared as she saw Star being carried away by Shruiken. Her thoughts drifted across her mental link with her rider so fiercely it stunned Eriel. They were together now as the elves and dragons began their retreat. Eriel didn't have to ask, she mounted Emrhyst and gave chase. Bombarding Shruiken with magic. Emrhyst roared, Put her down you worthless dragon! You're not even really bonded! Shruiken sneered and paid no heed. Emrhyst roared in anger, her eyes started to turn black, as did her rider's. She gained speed. She cared not that the old king was cheering her dragon on. Eriel sat upon her dragon's back. Steadily amassing power for a clean blow with magic on Shruiken's under belly. The two's thoughts were one now, they did not need any to say a word. Emrhyst dipped. Eriel hang, sword outstretched, magic suffused her blade. She cut a long wide gash on Shruiken's underbelly. Emrhyst roared in triumph as Shruiken roared in pain. He did not plummet though, nor did he release Star, but he was losing blood fast. He knew it, and so did Emrhyst.

- Fankor was happy with the idea of making camp. He too was getting a little bit tired. he laid down next to Laverra and looked up at the sky. He took out his bow and examined it, still wondering what happened before he found the group again. "Faefnir, before we caught up with all of you again, we were fighting some lethrblacka. I shot and arrow at them and it explodedinto tiny pieces that struck them all. I had no idea what happened but it felt like that arrows sapped some of my energy with it...,"Fankor said.-

And you stayed conscious? Now that's incredible. But your question. One of the fundamental rules of magic is that you have to have energy in order to use it. Using magic weakens you in varying degrees, mostly depending on the strength of the spell, but distance and other factors play a part as well. The fire on your bow took energy from you because that's the price that must be paid when you use magic. As he relayed this information to Fankor, he pondered over the Lethrblaka. Why had they attacked them if they were allies with Galbatorix? He feared a Lethrblaka-draconian alliance. He shoved it into the back of his mind and saved that mystery for later.

Star cut her connection off from Faenfir and Reb so neither of them could feel the agonizing pain that was shooting through her entire body. She felt Shruikan drop her as the wound from Eriel grew. She plummeted to earth. Reb was down their and spotted her dragon.
" Star." Reb shouted into the air. She put her hands to the sky and fire shot towards her dragon. It slammed into Star's body and Reb used a whole portion of her energy and the fire finally stopped Star's fall. But not completely. She was slowly coming to the earth. And when she reached it and landed softly on the ground fire shot out in all directions. An explosion followed. It shook the ground so far that Reb was sure Fankor and Faenfir could feel it and the smoke that billowed into the sky. All around her and her dragon Draconians lay dead and burnt. Reb's chest rose and fell quickly with her breath. Her energy was going quickly but she wouldn't die from the fire. Only be weakened.

Eriel drove her sword into his underbelly again and Shruikan dropped to the ground. He was dying fast. Eriel let him fall and then headed towards star. She dove towards her friend on her dragon. She was worried about star. " Are you okay?" She asked worried and became even more worried when Star didn't answer.

- Fankor thought about what Faefnir said to him for a while, untill he felt somethinghit him on the inside. Nothing phisically happened but he felt a sudden sadness come upon him. He also saw that Laverra felt it too for she had a worried look on her face. Then he decided to ask Faefnir. " Did you feel that? I dont know what it was, but it made me feel kinda depressed... I can tell you felt it as well Laverra?," he asked. "Yes... , I just hope everyone is ok back at the mountains," Laverra answered looking back in the direction of which they came.-

Faefnir already what had occurred. He had felt it through their mental connection. It's Star gazer. Shruikan tried to hurt her. Grrr, that treacherous snake, I will tear his throat out when I get back. He controlled his steadily rising anger and forced it back down. We can't worry about it. Star and Emrhyst know how to deal with him. They will be alright. We best get some sleep. I'll take the first watch. He lumbered towards the edge of the camp, onto a rock outcropping as a matter of fact. He continued gazing across the moonlit landscape, a protective sentinal watching for anything that may come.

Post Re: The quest of death
Reb sat down next to Star and felt for a pulse. She felt one but it was faint. She sighed with relief then, and then spotted Eriel and Emerhyrst landing near them. She smiled at them. " She is fine. She is a strong dragoness." Reb said then watched Star's side rise and fall with her breaths. " Heal." She said and most of Star's wounds healed.
Star was floating away from her body and she decided she would use it to her ability. She floated through the sky. Her spirit seeking something she was unaware of until she spotted the golden sentinel standing watch. She floated to the earth and stared at him then laughed out loud. Thinking she was unseable or hearable. She watched him with amusement. " You have to sleep sometime." She said to him then just sat down on a rock and watched him. Though her body was calling her back.

Eriel sighed. " That's good. We wouldn't want her to get hurt. I think I took care of Shruikan for now but he will be back. We need to move her." Eriel said and then looked around for some dragons to help. Then looked at the dead draconians. " Your gonna have to teach me that trick." She added then smiled. " Then mabe I will teach you some swordmanship." She said on a laugh.

Faefnir shook his head in annoyance. He thought he heard Star's voice whispering into his ear. Maybe I should get some sleep. Just as his eyelids became heavy, he heard Fankor offer to take watch. He looked behind him. I am grateful, Fankor. Stay safe. Watch for any draconian scouts or Lethrblaka. If you see anything, you wake me up right away. He leaped down to the ground and settled about 5 feet from Laverra. He snorted some dust out of his nose, then immediately fell asleep.

Star floated over towards Faefnir. She looked down at him then leaned beside his ear and said, " Sleep well my King. Be safe." Then she touched her spirit like nose to his head and let images of the battle rush into his sleeping mind. Reb caught the atention of five of the mountain dragons and they lifted Star onto a ledge over looking the battlefield. It was what used to be of a dragon cave.
" We will wait for you here. We could use a break also. My energy is almost depleted from using magic and fighting so much. I hope you don't mind." Eriel said then sat down her back against the wall. " Yes and I want to talk to Star when she wakes." Emrhyst added then sat beside her rider and lay her head on her front legs.

OCC.- whos turn is it in suicide mission?

- Fankor watched as faefnir went to lay down. then he sat on top of a rock that over looked most of the small valley they set camp in. He sat there silent for a moment, and then pulled out his bow. He shot at the nearby tree. He watched as the second arrow he shot almost spit the first right down the middle. He shot more making almost a perfect line straight down the trunk. He thought more and more of what happened with the lethrblackas'. He looked back to when his old friend Valor used to train with him. Valor was an old elven friend of Fankor's family. Valor's father and Fankor's father were very close friends. While training with Valor, he would learn just a couple of spells, mostly when Valor was just showing off, since this was years before Fankor became a rider. Brisingr, He remembered, Ment fire, And thats exactly what happened as he wispered the word as he shot an arrow into the tree. The tree almost intantly blow up in flames. This startled him as he fell backwards off the rock. He quickly got up looking for away to put the fire out." Water, water,"... he thought quickly as he remembered "adurna,"... But nothing happened. He tried to figure out why it didnt work when he remembered Risa." Risa Adurna,"he said as water shot up from the near by river and he quickly directed it to the tree where the fire was put out. After the situation was settled, he sat back on the rock, where he couldnt help but laugh about the whole thing. He then when back to keeping watch.-

Star's soul made it's way back to her body and she woke with a gasp and sat up gasping. " I saw Faenfir!" She said and then looked around. Reb was staring at her wide eyed.
" Are you okay?" Reb asked standing and going over to her dragon. She sat down and slowly stroked Star's neck and Star slowly lovered her head back down and lay down. She went back to dreaming.

" Once the battle wraps up here should we go after Faefnir and Laverra?" Eriel asked.
" I don't know if we should or not. Would he want us to?" Her dragon asked. Eriel shrugged while she sat against the wall and watched Reb help Star go back to sleep.
" Is she strong enough?" Eriel asked Reb.
" Perfectly. She just needs another few hours sleep." Reb answered then went back to Star.

- The sun was just peeking out from the eastern most mountain in the distance. Laverra and Faefnir were still fast asleep. they must have been really tired. when Fankor thought about it it made loads of sense saying how far they they yesturday. He let them sleep as he walked over to the nearby river to catch some fish for breakfast. he pulled out his bow, notched an arrow and aimed carefully, pointing the tip of the arrow a little towards his side of the fish and fired. the arrow struck the fish right through its gills. He learned this trick from his father when he was only five years of age, and it has proven very handy to him over the years. he shot two more fish then headed back to camp. when he arrive he saw Laverra was laying ther awake and watched him walk back. He set down the fish and walked over to where the fire was held the night before, which was now smuthered out. Laverra stood up and start walking towards the fire to light it back up for her rider. " No, no its alright. I think I got the hang of it now... Just watch," fankor said as he prepared to light the fire," Brisingr." Almost instantaneously the fire shot back to life. "When did you learn to do that," Laverra asked curiously. Fankor held his catch over the fire. "Just last night while I was keeping watch," He answered her back giving out a little laugh recalling the events of the night before.-

Faefnir was really awake when Fankor awoke. It was his own little tradition to wake at sunrise. He chuckled as he heard Fankor say "fire." He slowly got up, feigning being tired. Good morning, little ones. Without saying another word, he took off to hunt a deer.

Post Re: The quest of death
When sunrise came she woke. Star was used to waking this early because when she was with Faefnir he always woke at dawn and she had picked that up. She smothered a yawn as she noticed Reb curled up on her neck. Star smiled. " Time to get up Reb." Star said noting that when Reb was asleep she looked younger than her age of seventeen. Reb stired then streched. She smiled at Star.
" Are you alright?" Reb asked.
" Perfectly. The neck wound has closed and I didn't lose to much blood." Star answered then moved to the entrance of the cave. She looked down. Only a few draconians remained.
" We are debating on wether or not to meet up with Faenfir and Laverra." Reb said.
" I'll ask Faefnir if he can hear me." Star said then closed her eyes. " Faenfir? If you can hear me answer. Should we catch up with you or stay here. The battle is almost over." Star said then stood and streched out her wings.

Eriel woke at the sound of Reb and Star's conversation. She looked at them and then streched. " So. What are we going to do?" She asked.
" Don't know yet." Reb answered.
" Well we need to hurry up in our decision." Emhyrst said and then streched as well. She went to walk over to Star. " Has he answered?" She asked her friend.
" No. He hasn't." Star answered.

Efriam landed in the cave. " Good morning you four. Oh, um you five." He corrected and got off Woodrew. He went to walk over to Reb but decided against it. He went over to Woodrew and stood there watching them. " So what are you five planing?" He asked.

-Laverra was also feeling a little hungry. "I'm off to hunt as well. I won't be too long,"She said to Fankor, and without another word she took off. Fankor finished cooking his fish and sat down to eat. Fankor was still excited he was starting to learn a little about magic. " Risa Adurna," He said as he directed the water tiwards the fire and set it out. He was axious to learn mor spells. He wanted to know more of the Ancient Language. Although it was fun, he could understand more of what Faefnir said about magic sapping away at your energy. It wasnt too much that it took his breath awy or made him dizzy, but it was still enough for him to feel it leaving his body as he cast the spell.-

Faefnir had just caught a young buck when he heard Star's faint voice again. Star, you must not follow me or Laverra. Our and Alagaesia's survival rest with you. Return to the desert stronghold. The draconian forces near and you must get everyone there. Make sure Galbatorix retains command of his troops. Shruikan may be disloyal, but that does not mean Galbatorix is. He will know how to carry Shruikan to the fortress. Once there, take Shruikan to the front entrance. Just inside and to the left, there is a large jail cell that is imprenetrable to anything. Put Shruikan in there so he can recover and possibly learn his mistake. If he doesn't cooperate and follow your orders, keep him in there. Eventually, his bloodlust will be too great and he will have to follow your lead. Remember, you cannot follow us. Nobody can follow us. This is something for Laverra to do alone.

Star knew she was being absurd when the sharp pang of jelousy hit her. " Faenfir has no interest in Laverra." She told her self and then shook herself and stood." How absurd he would never chose anyone other than me. I just don't like being separated to long." Star told herself then stood.
" We are not following. We are going to return to the strong hold and wait out the forces there. We must go." Star said then streched out her wings.

" Alright. I'm guessing Faenfir told you that. We will follow." Eriel said and her dragon nodded in agreement.
EFriam didn't look so sure.

I want to get some information on my fathers location as soon as posible. The faster we find him the better... The better for all of Alegasia," Laverra answered, " Once Faefnir get back and ready we should get going. Looks like a nice day and we can make some grea ttime flying if it stays like this." The two finished up eating and waited for Faefnir to return.-

Faefnir circled back down towards the camp and landed. As he started tearing at the buck he caught, he spoke to Fankor. Here are some words I want you to learn. Memorize them as if they were your entire life. They will help you out soon, I am certain. Faefnir then released some of his memories and allowed them to pour into Fankor's mind. He hoped it didn't hurt his head too much. Laverra, you memorize them too. These words are more important to you than him, for they will help you extract some information. And Fankor will need your help so he too can remember them. As Faefnir looked at the sky, he swallowed the rest of the buck, then walked over to the nearby creek to take some sips of water. You two come over here and get some water. We will have to fly all day and maybe into tonite if we want to get to Ellesmera quickly.

Star stood. " I'll meet with you there. I've got to get out and fly." Star said heading to the entrance of the cave. Reb made no movement to follow. Star knew why. Reb knew when to let her have her space since Star was a verry wise and brave dragoness Reb respected her. " You may come." Star said at last and her rider got to her feet and climbed onto her back. She then took off.
" Well. I'll get busy packing. And finish healing my wounds." Eriel said then stood and mosied her way to her bags and dug out a sack of berries then ate them. She then went over and offered some to her dragon. She laughed when Emhyrst wrinkled her nose at the stench.
Star landed far away from the mountain then threw her head back and let loose a mighty roar that shook the ground. And to her happyness it was answered by all the mountain dragons and wild ones like. She smiled into the distance waiting for more replys to the victory at the mountians.

IC: Emrhyst roared a forest dragon's roar as she heard them. It was not as deep throated as the mountain dragon's but struck fear into the hearts of their enemies as much as it, for those who could remember the war with the dragons would never forget the day the dragons mustered themselves for a last stroke on the elf's forest stronghold and nearly suceeded if not for Eragon the first. Eriel stood as the dragons prepared to leave.

Keralin and Aelir were flying through the land. It had been a little while since he had met with anyone but he had enjoyed the time alone. There were a couple of pockets of air that caused Aelir to tip slightly, but apart from that his journey was uneventful. At least until he heard the roars of dragons. Aelir picked up immediately that they were Star's and Emrhyst's voices but to Keralin they just sounded the same. Aelir mentioned that all humanoid voices sounded alike to him, and Keralin couldn't help but laugh at that.
Well lets see what's going on then.
Aelir turned at went directly towards the sound. As they got closer they were able to see a few dragons, some he recognised and a few others he didn't.
"Hello there!" Shouted Keralin as Aelir landed a short distance away.

Post Re: The quest of death
Faefnir shook his head. No. We must remember that once we get close to the forest, we will have to land. Remember, Ellesmera is literally built in the trees and there are no clearings close by that we could land in. We will have to trust our sanity and lives to the Stag, who should lead us safely through the forest to Ellesmera. But the Stag knows the forest very, very well. On ground, with him leading us, it will take another two days of walking before we reach the city itself.

Star let Reb down beside Eriel and Emhyrst. She had to go recrute her dragons. She flew through the air, flanked by Woodrew. " Do you have a reason to follow me?" Star asked angrily.
" You look lonely." He said with a smile.
" I'm fine." Star answered as she called to her dragons with a mighty roar.
