Memories of Vroengard
Alvina didn't know why she flew to this place. She didn't like it when her rider was alive and now that he was dead she had no reason to want to return, she always preferred to be out flying in the skies. She knew why though at the same time, she still hoped for something to remind her of Fen, her rider. She had been fighting the Empire hoping against hope that some sign of her rider would return. Nothing had come yet. She had put her whole life into fighting the empire for Fen but she didn't feel gratified, didn't even know if she did any good, and still wished for her rider back. As she flew over the ruins of Vroengard memories came back to her from training. She and Fen learning to fight as one. Watching with pride as her rider surpassed expectations set upon him. Watching other riders and their dragon’s bond strength while their remained unchanged. A pang of anger came to her as she remembered the weak bond, that was the reason why she wasn't able to die with honor when her rider did, that was the reason why she couldn't find Fen when they were separated, and that was the reason why she felt as if part of her had died several years ago. She had wished for death when it happened but it never came so she took it as a sign that she was to fight on. Which she had. She landed heavily in one of the many court yards and looked around. The Vroengard had once been full of life. The mightiest of warriors and dragons had trained here, been raised here, and died here. She remember when she had met Galbatorix, Fen hadn't like him and neither did she. Alvina shook her head trying to get rid of the memory of Galbatorix from her mind. She took a step forward and stared at hard marble floors. She remembered what the sound of his boot would make as he walked besides her laughing at some antics of a young rider and his dragon. A small smile came across her face as she remembered the good times of life. She was home now.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Dragonfly was wandering around in some other forgotten island off the coast of Alagaesia. She still didn't know why she did it-other times she'd been on islands, Dragon had some extrordinarily bad experiences. But Dragonfly loved the ocean way to much. It was her home. Dragonfly walked through the ruins on the island with her husky dog, Nicko, and her friend-a werewolf-Ben. Nicko was sniffing around on the ground, looking for something interesting, while Ben was just checking the place out. "What do you think was here before?" Ben asked, staring at the tiles and pieces of stone lying everywhere. Dragon crouched down on the ground, stretching her gossamer wings to their full extent. Her coat was a rock beside her. "I dunno," she answered, picking up a couple tiles, unusually subdued. "It's very sad." Dragon sniffed the air and smelled something very strange. It was something she wouldn't expect on an island like this. She signalled to Ben, whispering, " I don't think we're alone." Nicko was right beside her, ready to leap out into battle for his master. Dragon crept up quietly to the source of the scent and smiled. She was right-it was a dragon! That's of course, when taking a step forward, Dragon tripped over a rock and fell flat on her face. Dragonfly looked at the dragon, of which she now had the full attention. "Um, hi?" Dragon said

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina was so caught up in her memories that she hadn't noticed that she wasn't alone on the grounds. She was remembering assisting some of the younger riders when the sound of someone falling pulled her back to the presence. She turned to the direction of the sound and saw what seemed to be just a human girl, a dog, and a werewolf. They didn’t look like they were a threat to her so she just sat there and glared as the girl said, "Um, hi?". Alvina chuckled at this, for such a small girl she kept her cool pretty well for startling a dragon. Um, hi? Indeed. Alvina said into the minds of the three. She caught there scents then and stiffened. The dogs scent and werewolf scent were right but the girl did not smell like a human girl. She lowered her head closer in curiosity. She looked closer at her and pulled her lips over her teeth as she saw the wings and claws. Why are you in this place? She asked, quickly composing her expression not wanting to be rude. But her eyes betrayed her interest as she ran them over the wings attached to this little girl.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: Might as well use my new charry.
IC: Chris loved being by the ocean. Spending a lot of time in the desert just increased his love for the vast body of water even more. Unfortunately, Dragon had a headstart on him, so it would take a little while for him to actually catch up. He was still getting used to the idea of travelling with people, but found it was a lot better than travelling alone.
Chris could finally see the island up ahead of him. Hey, almost here, He said to Dragon.Glad you could make it, Chris. There's a dragon down here! He grinned. Chris had always wanted to meet a dragon. He'd never seen anyone other than Iota, a Demetrian dragon. I wonder if they're really as big as Dragon says. He angled to the island, and rocketed down, landing softly of the ground. "Yo," he said to the dragon.Dragonfly winked at Chris, who'd just flown out of the sky. She picked herself off the ground. "I'm Dragonfly, an Ohnyaeli. And so is Chris." She pointed at the grinning figure with orange-streaked black hair. "And he is Ben. My dog is Nicko." Nicko cocked his head at the dragon and barked once. "Now for why we're here...why're we here?" Dragon had totally forgotten. The excitement of finding another dragon and Dragonfly's normally lax memory had made her go completely blank. She turned to Ben who was shaking his head. "I don't know you," he muttered." Remember? Atlantis?" Now that he mentioned it, she did. "Um, right. We're searching for something." Dragon looked at Chris. A little help here."We're looking for some device that looks like this, " Chris answered and traced out a shape in the soil. Somehow, it was the key that would allow Chris and Dragon to know how to unlock all the secrets of the ancient city of Atlantis. He thought it was rather exciting. "How about it?"

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina was suddenly angry. So they were robbers of her former home like some many before them. Her eyes narrowed and she snapped her jaw together growling at the group. She had come here to visit and remember her former life with Fen but now there were adventures looking to steal something from this place if they found it. What gives you the right to take from this place? If you find this object here why should I let you steal from my home?! She was so close to just lifting up a pillar and dropping it on these small little people. She had no tolerance for those who take what is not theirs.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
For absolutely no reason at all, the dragon was suddenlly very angry at them. The very force of her breath knocked Dragon and Chris over. "What was that for?" Dragon yelped. Then she listened. Somehow the dragon thought they were stealing something. How rude, she thought, We haven't even explained anything and already she planning to kill us! Nicko whimpered and backed away. The dragon advanced forcing Ben backwards. Um, Chris? Now would be a good time to use your most wonderful diplomatic skills What skills? That didn't make her feel any better. "Listen for a minute before you kill us!" Dragon held up her hands. "We aren't stealing or anything. And we have a rightful claim to what we're searching for!" Chris got up and stepped forward. Let me deal with this. "Listen, you heard of the legend of Atlantis, right? Well, we found it, and our species, the Ohnyaeli, used to inhabit it. Unfortuneately they abandoned it. So now, we think we can wake it up again. Except we need that device to start activating it up. Basically, its a key. So we need it." Dragonfly looked at the dragon with her large blue eyes. She kept her wings spread in case she needed to teleport out. "So its not stealing. We have a claim to it because its ours. And its Atlantean-or Ohnyaeli-in make, so it does belong to us. Besides, the idiot who occupied Atlantis before us put that device somewhere on this island. Its not stealing if it doesn't belong here." Dragon sounded a lot like a kid who didn't get something from her parents. Chris rolled his eyes. Great diplomacy, he retorted. "You know she's right. Its not stealing. And I'd like it if you didn't try to kill us." "I don't see why you have to be so angry about it," Dragon said brightly.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina was still angry at these little Ohnyaeli's. She was half amused at what they said and half believed it. But she knew that if something was put here it was done so for protection. Alvina had been advancing on them but she stopped, she laid down and glared at them. If something was brought here it was under the protection of the riders at one time it would be the property of the riders. Alvina had never heard of Ohnyaelis before so she prepared magic if necessary

Re: Memories of Vroengard
At least she stopped coming forward, Dragon thought as she listened to the dragon speak. "No, you see, the person who actually sent the key thing here wasn't actually a rider. Because he didn't like dragons. He killed them instead. Atlantis is a really pretty city-you'd like it. But we need that stupid key thing. Chris felt like beating his head against a pillar. Will you just shut up? He turned toward the dragon. "It was brought here after this place was, um, deserted. So, its not the riders. 'Cause the person hid it here to try and keep it away from us. Which didn't really work. Or at least I hope so." Yeah, it wouldn't really work if we got eaten. Dragonfly smelled the magic building up inside the dragon. "Um, and it wouldn't be smart to, uh, use the magic against us because we're kinda immune to most spells. But magics really cool because you can do all sorts of things with it. 'Cause one time, when it was raining, I managed to summon a sea serpent and I can talk to-" Her voice was muffled as Chris put his hand over his mouth. There were reasons I travelled alone.he thought. "Will you please shut up?" he muttered. "So yeah," he said, this time directed at the dragon. "Don't kill us because you think were stealing, 'cause we're not." Dragon tried to say something but his hand was still over her mouth. He focused his large eyes on the dragon. "We may be many things, but we're not thieves." Dragon finally removed Chris' hand. "I've never stolen anything!" she announced proudly. Chris snorted.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phalynx was flying low and smooth over the islands, enjoying the fresh sea scent and the lovely breezes. It had been months since she had last been here. Four, in fact. Which, of course, meant that Phal was five months old. She was preparing herself for her first flame, which she knew would be soon.
Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure. Dragonfly! she thought happily. Also with Dragon was a werewolf, a dog, and, to Phal's surprise, another Ohnyaeli. She must have found her twin, then. Phal became tense when she saw the silver dragon, for they were confronting each other, and Phal wanted no harm to come to her friend. She listened in on their conversation, and then decided to land.
Phalynx landed very gracefully, her disproportionately large wings making her an excellent flyer. Greetings, Dragonfly, and greetings to the rest assembled here. I am Phalynx. I couldn't help listening in (her curiousity wouldn't allow that) and I must make a reply to your argument. I know Dragon, and she is in no way a lier or a thief. The beast that put the key here was a great enemy of dragonkind, so finding the key would be an excellent way of thwarting his wishes. I wish no harm to come to my friends, so I implore your sense of judgement to listen. This story is very true, and Atlantis belongs, or belonged, to the Ohnyaeli, meaning that the key is rightfully theirs as well. Phal finished her speech, trying to put as much welcome and peace into her voice as possible.
She was happy to see another dragon, but could not allow any creature to harm Dragon, whom she counted as a friend.
OOC: I hope you don't mind if Phal joins the "fun".

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina wasn't surprised to see another dragon, what she didn't expect was the dragon to be silver, it was a rare color for dragons so two weren‘t often seen together. She listened closely to what they all said snorting in disbelief at what Dragonfly said about her magic not affecting them. She would have to correct them on what her magic did eventually but for now she was quiet amused. Alvina snorted a small flame and chuckled like dragons are famous for doing. Well met Phalynx, She looked at the young dragon then to the others, I am Alvina dragon too..... She stopped herself and looked away composing her thoughts, she really needed to stop introducing herself like she used to. Forgive me for being protective of this place, I flew here it when it thrived with life.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Dragonfly looked up at the sky and saw a very familiar dragon coming in for a landing. "Phalynx!" she shouted, smiling, "its so nice to see you again!" Dragon ran up to the small dragon and hugged her-or at least attempted to. She listened to what both dragons had to say, and then started to introduce everyone. "Chris, this is Phalynx, and Phal, this is Chris the other Ohnyaeli I was telling you about. That's Ben, and my dogs name is Nicko." Chris looked curiously at the silver dragon. "Hey," he nodded in greeting. He combed through his orange streaked hair. "Is this the dragon that you were tellin' me about? One of those who helped you in the whole Dragon storm thing?" Luckily, this new dragon, Phalynx, put up a defence for them and the other dragon, Alvina, finally looked convinced. "So can you tell if somethin' like that's been around here?" "Yep," Dragon said, answered Chris' question. She turned to Alvina. "This place is really sad, isn't it? And it smells all funny....." Dragonfly looked around. She smelled something funny. It made her really nervous. "Chris are you...?" Chris was looking around, trying to find out the same thing Dragon was. Did something follow them here? I didn't notice anything when I was flying. He said to Dragon. "What is it?" Ben asked. He was about to fall into wolf form. Nicko was still freaked out and was hiding under a fallen rock. Chris opened his wings and flew up to the top of a still-standing column. What would be crazy enough to attack two dragons? But if Chris focused on the ocean, he could see two smudges. And they were coming here. Dragon looked up at Chris. "Hey! Can you tell what they are?" Chris leaned over and yelled back. "No! They're too far away!" Dragonfly looked down again and Phalynx as she remembered that the silver dragon had many special talents. "Could you?" She asked.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: We're goin' for sea monsters, right? Phal shall spot them out then.
IC: Phal turned to look where Dragonfly was pointing. Her keen dragon's eyesight could pick up two smudges approaching from the water. They had an ominous smell to them. However, Phal could do much more than just watch them approach dumbly. Answering Dragon's question, she took flight, hovering slightly above the ground, and switched to infrared vision. She could see the heat signatures, and they told her that the beasts were monstrously huge and monstrously terrifying. Phal focused harder, and her vision actually zoomed up. This kind of sight took energy to use, so she rarely used it. She could see the creatures in more detail. They were very stocky, and had many sharp looking fins on their bodies, as well as thick webbed limbs. Six of them.
Phal relayed to the others what she saw, but then realized something. She switched to her infrequently used ultraviolet vision, and gasped in astonishment. The creatures were giving off huge amounts of radiation, and Phal suddenly knew what they were. She landed with haste and urgency, immediately warning the others.
Dragonfly! These are no ordinary monsters! They are leftovers from the Dragon Storm, some of the last remnants of Tiacarion's creations! I think that they are supposed to guard the key! Phal shouted everything out, looking urgently from the Ohnyaelis to the werewolf to the other dragon, Aviva. These creatures are some of the fiercest and most deadly alive, she said, speaking to Aviva, Chris, and Ben, and they may be carriers of the deadly dragon virus, Miragones. I don't think that you have been given the inocculation, Aviva. You could be infected. Do you have any of it, Dragon? Phal kept glancing back at the approaching beasts, dancing nervously on her feet.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina watched the creatures. She had never seen anything like them in her whole long life and that alone was something. But once Phalynx started talking about catching a virus she grinned. She crouched, even then towering over all there, Sounds like y'all have had trouble with these type before. She reached for the creatures minds and found that there were six of them, she did look any further into their minds but instead glanced at Dragonfly and said, Dragonfly watch and learn what a dragon’s magic is capable of doing. Alvina took flight then beating her massive wings to gain altitude quickly. She flew far above the six creatures not wanting to risk getting close. They were swimming fast for as big as they. She concentrated on the water surrounding the lead three. She felt the drain of energy as she turned the water around them to a thick chunk of ice. Alvina was proud of this ability but it taxed her strength more than her others by far. Once she completely covered the three in ice so they couldn't move she turned and flew back not caring what the other three were doing. She landed with grace, thanking her training for giving her the strength and endurance to use such powerful spells. Whatever they are they sure are ugly things. She spoke with distaste for them still not knowing or caring what they were. As long as they got the hint that they weren't welcome Alvina would leave them be but if they kept coming then there would be major problem for all of them.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
"Oh please. I do know what dragons can do with magic, thank you very much." Dragonfly listened to what Phalynx was saying about the sea monsters. Her eyes widened in unusual alarm. Why can't they leave us alone? "I don't have any of the cure on me," she said looking through the pockets on her blue jacket," I have some inside me, but thats for desperate measures." Dragon squinted and looked up at Chris. "Maybe you should get down from there!" Yeah right,Chris said to her. He looked out at the creepy sea creatures. They looked almost exactly like Dragon showed them. Through his mind link. He felt the wind as the dragon, Alvina, flew past him and froze the leading three sea creatures. Then, fly back without dealing with three others. They're coming in fast!He shouted to Dragonfly. Chris spotted even more dark shapes under the water. "And there's more of them!" he yelled out loud, flying down from on top of the pillar. "Oh crap," Dragonfly muttered. "We'll be needing a lot more of your dragon magic, Alvina. And the key. 'Cause that's what I came for. And if I find it, I might be able to destroy those stupid creatures." She drew out her bow. "Well, here we are again, Phal," Dragon said, close to panic as she remembered how difficult it was to beat one of these last time. "There are still the three Alvina left, and what looked like ten or so more beneath the surface." Find the key. Dragon nodded, then raced off into the island. "I just love it when this happens," Chris said to Phalynx sarcastically. When one of them burst out of the sea behind him, Chris was fervently glad he did not brind his guitar with him.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phalynx frowned as more sea monsters headed towards the surface. The water distorted their heat signatures, making it hard to spot them that far below. She watched as Alvina froze three of them. I hope you have enough energy to do that to all of them, because there's a lot more coming. Phal said. She suddenly powered up into the sky. She was a lot older than the last time these beasts had been facing her down, and she could breathe fire now, a skill not wasted. Phal dove down on the one that had foolishly reared up out of the water to attack Chris. She landed precise blows to each of its eyes, and it roared in agony. Phal flashed underneath its rearing head and gouged at its throat. Blood poured out of the wound, and the creature collapsed, dying.
Heh. Four down, and, maybe sixteen more to go? Phalynx said this with a smile. She spiraled up again, and prepared to attack another of the creatures. She would rely on speed to win the battle. Phal had very large wings, and they were also quite strong. She was a fast little dragon, even though she was young.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina grumbled she didn't have the energy to change that large amount of water into ice. But she could lift them out of the water. Chris! Phalynx! I will hold them you just kill them all! She shouted in their minds. Alvina reached for her magic and gathered a vast amount of energy. She lifted all of the sea monsters out of the water and held them still. The consumption of energy was great but she only grinned and accepted the challenge. Alvina stayed perfectly still not moving only concentrating on the spell and Dragonfly's movements. Try the counselors room, you might have to find a way to get through a twenty foot thick stone door though. Alvina said to Dragonfly.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Chris stared in awe as the dragon, Alvina, levitated all the ugly sea creatures in the air. However powerful she is, she won't be able to hold them for long. Chris thought to himself as he flew into the air at one of them. Drawing out his short obsidian blade and slashed at its throat. Still held by Alvina, the sea monster just snapped at him. Chris quickly teleported out of the way and plunged the blade into the back of its neck.
"Ick," Chris muttered as blood came out and the creature fell down and crashed into the ocean. He went and did it to two others, when the spell stopped and they all crashed into the ocean. Of course, one of them dragged Chris down with it. He plunged into the ocean, back in his home territory.
The creatures all swarmed around him, blocking off escape. Using his wings, Chris rocketed downwards and came up under another of the creatures. However, they were harder to beat when they could actually move around. Chris lunged with his sword, but only managed a shallow cut. The creature hit him with its tail, sending him flying into another. That creature screeched at him, and as Chris tried to get away, bit him on the shoulder. Chris! It's poisonous! Regenerate now!!! He heard Dragon's voice in his head. He quickly started to glow, and immediately felt better. Think you can beat me? Chris said, grinning wildly as he swooped down, and dealt several blows to a creature, and flitting away again. It sank to the sea floor, dead.
Dragonfly frantically ran through the ruins of the sad place, following the directions Alvina gave her. She was doing okay, but Dragon kept tripping over stuff. "A twenty foot door won't be a problem," she puffed, "just getting there!" Dragon climbed over another pile of rocks-the ruins were getting bigger-when she finally saw what she was looking for-a gigantic building that was still standing after all these years. Dragonfly smiled and teleported to the crumbled doorway, when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her shoulder. Her vision flashed as she suddenly could see through Chris' eyes. Chris, its poisonous! Regenerate NOW! she yelled. A minute later, the pain eased and she got up again. Good one, Chris. Dragonfly ran through the building, dodging and hitting into random blocks of stone. "Where is it?!" She yelled in frustration, her voice echoing through a giant chamber. That's when she saw the huge stone door. Now to get on the other side.... Dragonfly got up close to the door, trying to sense the space on the other side. It was difficult trying to teleport to a place you didn't know before. But it was possible. She teleported, then landed on the other side of the huge stone thing. "It worked!" She celebrated briefly, then ran over to the strange device that was sitting on a scorched table. "Finally," she whispered and brushed the dust off of it. It looked just like a normal skeleton key, and as she held it, she felt a tingle run through her arm. I got it, she said to Chris and turned around, her wings spread wide to teleport back. Thats when a hand reached up around her and closed over her mouth. Dragon's scream was muffled. HELP! she yelled as the hand dragged her away, crushing her wings against her back.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phal continued to battle as Alvina performed her impressive spell. Good one! she called encouragingly, hoping Alvina would have strength enough to keep them there as Phal rushed in to attack them. Phal kept an eye on Chris and Dragon. She turned for a moment to slash a creature's throat. She then tried Faefnir's trick and blasted a ball of fire down the slimy gullet. It worked and the beast fell writhing back into the ocean, burning alive. Phal glanced back at Dragon (her heat sig. of course), only to find another hominid holding her and pulling her away.
Dragonfly! Chris, Dragon's in trouble! You should stay and help Alvina with these guys! Phal rushed in headlong. She could still see Dragon's teleportation signal with her "magic vision" and knew that she could use it to follow her.
Phal suddenly felt an enormous crack as a beast struck her side, knocking her out of the sky. Phal knew that several ribs were broken as she plunged into the water. The creature seized her shoulders in its teeth and shook her wildly around. Phal fought valiantly to free herself and aimed true at the creature's throat. It howled in agony as it died from blood loss, but for Phal it was no victory. She sank down in the water, thinking only to fight weakly towards the doorway. With the last of her strength she used Dragon's teleportation trail to get into the room, which was full of air.
Phal tried to stand and go after Dragon. She saw the figure's heat sig and blasted a small fire missile at it as it retreated further down the tunnel. Phal then collapsed, trying to regain her strength.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina released the spell when she realized it wasn't fast enough. She heard Dragonfly's cry for help. She looked at the beast before her and growled. All around her large chunks of rock broke off from the ruins, they were pointed that the end and sharp. She gathered her strength and released the spell that sent one through each of the sea serpents. It drained her greatly of energy but she could feel Dragonfly being pulled away. Alvina flooded her presence into the mind of the beast that held her, it was strange but well guarded. But all she needed to know was where the beast was. She gathered what little was left of her strength and released the spell. IT wasn't something she liked to do to anyone because it caused great pain for the person it was done to but slowly the creature turned to stone starting from the feet up. Once she released the magic she toppled over and passed out.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Chris was diving down into the ocean to kill another of those creatures when he heard Dragon's cry for help. Chris' blue eyes flared with rage as he abandoned his fight with the strange creatures and flew off to help his twin. One of the creatures sprang out of the water and chased after him, but it was met by a flying piece of rock. Good job, he said to Alvina and then teleported in a flash of blue light. Dragonfly struggled as hard as she could against the thing that had a hold of her, but it was as if it was made of stone. Get off of me! she yelled, since she could shout out loud. Dragon could feel Chris coming when suddenly, the thing froze. Dragon looked at its hand. Solid stone. "Wierd," she muttered, stepping away from the now-turned statue. Chris suddenly transported in right next to her, his blade drawn, but stared in confusion. "I know, I don't get it either." Dragon examined the statue, which looked suprisingly familiar. But I thought he was dead... "We'd better go help the dragons." Chris said to her. Dragon nodded, staring at the thing. She shook herself out of a trance. "Yeah." Chris teleported out to Phalynx and Alvina with Dragon following behind him. As far as he could tell, Alvina was just unconcious (sp) but Phalynx was badly injured. "Dragon, could you..." he indicated her wounds. Dragon nodded. Chris knew that Dragon was a lot better versed in water magic than he was, being able to Summon things and heal. But he was better at fighting and survivings skills-and was stronger-so it all balenced out. Chris sniffed the air. Something smelled rather strange and it didn't seem good. Unfortunately, he didn't notice it floating above the water until it was too late. A glob of strange sticky stuff shot towards him and glued Chris to the ground below. Dragonfly searched around in her pack until she found a small container of sorts. She then went over and filled it with water from the gently moving sea. Dragon crouched over Phal pouring the salty water in her wounds. Heal my friend, she whispered. By the power of the ocean. The water started to glow with a blue light and Phal's wounds closed up. Dragon smiled. It always felt good when whatever she did worked. She looked over and jumped to her feet, as she saw Chris lying still on the ground, covered in some web-like stuff. "Chris!" she yelled, but got no answer. She ran over to him, and tried to distangle him but the stuff just stuck to her. "Don't worry. He'll be alright. But I'll come back for you two. Your friends however, I'll take." Dragon swiveled around and saw the two dragons dissappear in a flash. She looked up and got hit by another web glob. (lol) "But you're dead!" Dragonfly managed to say. "It takes a lot to kill me, my dear." Tiacarian laughed and vanished.
OOC: okay, I'm sorry, but I had to.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phal saw Chris go to help Dragon, and was greatly releived. She felt her wounds begin to heal as Dragon knelt over her, but suddenly heard a familiar voice. No! Tiacarion! She suddenly felt herself blink out of the room. She blinked back into awareness, but in a different area. It seemed to be an underground dungeon. Phal suddenly winced in pain. The teleportation had taken place before her internal injuries had healed. She felt around with her mind on her body. She sensed that three ribs were broken and a shoulder blade was cracked. She struggled up but failed, coughing up some blood. Aah! She cried as she tested her injured limb. She and the still unconcious Alvina were suddenly surrounded by strange creatures; the reptilians that were controlled by Tiacarion. Phal growled and hissed, prepared to defend Alvina from the strange creatures.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
The first thing Dragonfly became aware of was pain. She groaned and opened her eyes, but it didn't help. All she could see was webby stuff. ( ) Dragon tried to speak, but her mouth was sealed shut. The same problem with the rest of her body. Dragon just could move period. She could feel the rock below her, but that was it. Hello? This time, she tried to send it telepathically.Ouch, came the reply. Are you okay?As far as I can tell. Now how're we gonna get out of this one?Don't ask me. Fortunately, for both of them, Tiacarian had completely forgotten about Ben and Nicko. Dragon felt some sort of blade cutting through the web stuff, and after a little while, sunlight streamed in. "Hey there." Ben's grinning face appeared above her. Dragon gave him a dirty look and stood up, doing her best to get all the stuff off. Ben went over and slashed at the web ball that was Chris and soon, he too emerged, globs of sticky stuff clinging to him. "Ick," he said, trying to rub it off. "You know that's not gonna work," Dragon said to him. Chris just gave her an i-don't-care look. He sort of limped over to the water and looked into it. "How're we gonna find the dragons?" It shouldn't be too hard for two Ohnyaeli, but there were so many places to hide. "Dunno." Dragon answered. "Well, we'd better think of something soon." Chris sat down next to the surf, petting Nicko's fur.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phal roared. It was not as powerful as a huge dragon's roar, but she was an adult now, and it was powerful enough to discourage the reptilian soldiers. They suddenly rushed at her. Phal spat a large burst of fire. Not a lot of it, but in a very large cloud. She leapt forwards through the cloud and sliced one creature's gut open with her sharp talons. Another she wacked away with her tail, knocking it unconscious as it hit a wall. She flapped powerfully with her wings, propelling herself backwards. She landed on her hind legs and breathed another jet of flame, this one directed at a single soldier. It hit and the beast fell over dead. Phal jumped in the air again, kicking out with her hind left foot to gore another creature and whipping another into a group of three with her tail, knocking them all over. She came down hard on another, breaking its neck as she grabbed it with her teeth, all the while balancing on three legs.
Phal turned and saw one poised above Alvina's neck, ready to strike. She leaped mightily at it, roaring. She tackled it, killing it in the fall but screeching in pain herself, for the tackle had jarred her broken ribs. She got up shakily, having landed on her cracked shoulder as well. Just not my lucky day... she thought, still in pain. She grit her teeth to it and wacked an approaching soldier with her tail. It was hit so hard that it was killed on impact. She hissed and flapped again, raking another standing close by with her uninjured foreclaw. Still in the air, she kicked out at another with her right foot, decapitating it. Phal winced at the gruesome sight, but did not regret it.
She saw a small group of three still in the room. She roared again and leapt forwards. These three were tough. Though she managed to slice one's neck open with her foreclaw, the two others spun away. One raked a gash in her neck with its sword, the other got her left hip. Phal jumped forwards and spun around in the same leap, facing her attackers. She attacked the one to her right and killed it with her jaws. The other was wacked away with her tail as it attempted to attack her from behind. She turned and dealt with it.
Phal sighed heavily, for there were no others. She limped wearily over to Alvina's side and stood, shaking from exhaustion and pain. Suddenly, she felt a massive pressure hit her side. Her mind exploded in pain as the soldier, the one she had knocked unconscious right away, hit her in the ribs with an iron beam. Phal collapsed, crying out in agony. She sent a mental scream for help in all directions, hoping it was powerful enough to reach Dragon, Chris, and Ben. Phal felt her vision restored, for it had turned red. She began to cough up blood in large amounts, the pain in her side was unbearable. She moaned again in agony, and saw the soldier creep around the back of her neck out of the corner of her eye.
No.... This is not how I'll die! NO!! She whipped around in a single massive effort and kicked the creature so hard that its body was ripped in two as it was flung away. Phal then lay silent. She realized the horrible truth; one of the broken ribs had punctured a lung, most likely a fatal injury. She lay on the ground, her life's blood pouring mainly out of her mouth, dripping onto the cold stone. Not even the greatest healer had the ability to replace blood, and Phal's was pouring out onto the ground.
Help..... with the last ounce of strength she had she sent out a beacon to Dragon and Chris, a way to find her and teleport to her. But she feared it would not be enough...
OOC: longness! Gosh! I'm kind of into fight scenes at the moment, as I just saw The Matrix Reloaded yesterday. (good movie!)

OOC: Maybe we should skip Rien this turn, seeing as his computer crashed and we have no idea how long we'll have to wait. Alvina's probably still unconscious, anyway.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Alvina felt the comotion of battle around her. She still felt the pressence of Phal close by. She also felt the pain the young dragon was going through. It angered her greatly knowing that Phal was giving her all and she wasn't able to help any. The room stood quiet once again after awile. Alvina could feel Phil's weakened life close by and slipping away more every moment. Alvina finally opened her eyes and stared at Phil in horror. The young dragon was bad off. Blood was pouring out of her mouth. Alvina had no strength to stand let alone perform magic. She wanted to do something though, she needed to do something though. She entered Phil's mind and did her best to block out the pain with in the younger dragons mind and keep her conscious. Stay with me Phil. Alvina knew that mearly distracting her wouldn't be enough, it would help some though. She reached out to find something to draw power from but found nothing. Phil....what happened? How did we end up here? She then threw out a thought for Dragon and Chris, with enough force for even some in the empire to hear it. Dragon! Chris! Phil is in bad shape. If you can get here now!
Occ:well I was able to get on at the library but I still don't have my computer up and running so....I give one of y'all permision to control alvina in the rpg. Read her bio get to know...she can be fun to use.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Dragonfly's head snapped up as she heard Alvina's -and Phal's-desperate call. Her bright blue eyes widened in anger and without thinking, she dived into the ocean. Dragon, what're you doin'?she heard Chris say. She didn't listen. Dragon plunged into the inviting ocean and sped off as fast as she could towards the area Alvina's cry came from. You think Ohnyaeli are weak? she yelled out to Tiacarian in her mind. Let me retract that view!!! She snarled at the creatures that were heading at her, and if it was possible, swam even faster.
Chris stared at the spot where Dragon crashed into the ocean. Does she even think before she does stuff? Then again, he didn't either. Chris opened his wings and dived into the ocean, leaving Ben and Nicko in the dust. "Why does this always happen to me," Ben muttered and sat down on a rock.
Chris swam downward, following Dragon. The creatures that she had shot past earlier were coming up to swarm around him. Chris spun in a full circle, but they were all around him. He tried teleporting , but the creatures still managed to swoop down and trap him.
He drew out his blades and lunged for the nearest one, stabbing it in the eye, then dodging its flailing head. He spun away, struck at another one, cutting it on its head. The creature quickly recovered at bit Chris on the arm. He fell away, regenerating. Another of the creatures swooped down on him, and he threw his blade, stricking it in the middle of the chest. Chris swam up, pulled it out, then teleported so he was above another.
Chris stabbed down with both blades, one after another. The creature sagged, and fell down, dead. The water was dark with blood, which was why Chris couldn't see the spell coming until too late. Tiacarian laughed as the sticky web-like stuff encased him. Chris nearly exploded with anger. The ocean started to whirl around Tiacarian in a whirlpool, and he couldn't get out of it. He started using his magic but it was too strong for him. Unfortunately, one of the creatures swung its tail into Chris's head, and he fell unconcious. (sp) Tiacarian, free over the whirlpool, let out a breath. Finally he had his prize. Dragonfly, oblivious to all of this, flew in a rage towards the mountain where she heard Alvina. She concentrated, then teleported into the room, bringing a huge cascade of water with her. She lay on the floor breathing for a moment, then looked over at Phal. Not good, Dragon said, almost panicking. She forced herself to relax and concentrate on healing Phal's wounds with the water she had brought in with her. Slowly, the wounds inside and outside began to heal. It took her a couple minutes, and she could sense some more creatures coming, but Dragon concentrated on her task. Finally it was done. Dragon collapsed on the ground, unconcious, just as more of Tiacarian's servents rushed in.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phalynx's entire body was in agony. Suddenly, the pain lessened, and Alvina's voice entered her mind. I... I'm here... she said weakly. Not long later, she felt a coolness seep into her from the ground, the coolness of water. She opened one eye to see Dragonfly kneel over her. Phal felt her wounds healing, and in not too long the pain was completely gone. Dragonfly fell unconscious.
Phalynx looked around. She couldn't move, and though she was healed, her strength was waning. She had lost so much blood... Phal's vision began to fade in and out of focus, which was not good because several of Tiacarion's soldiers entered the room. No... must... stand... Phal thought desperately. She tried to move her limbs, but they would not obey her. Her mind set itself to the task, and she concentrated all of her effort on standing. Her legs began to shake as she groaned with effort, but a dizziness overtook her and she collapsed, moaning. Away... get away fr... from us... she said to the reptilian fiends in anger.
Phal could not keep her vision from fading. Intense fear overtook her as the blackness closed in; fear that she could do absolutely nothing to stop it. Her world became black.OOC: Don't worry, I'll take care of Alvina for a while. Do not fear; I shall not hurt her, though she will get into some trouble! Alvina was relieved to see Dragonfly finally appear and heal the young silver. She was worried though when Chris did not come after her. Dragonfly was exhausted from the healing and soon fainted. Alvina knew that she would be alright in a few minutes, though. She was more worried about Phal, for the young dragon seemed to be slipping further and further away. Phal, just stay still and regain your strength. We'll get out of this, just let me and Dragonfly rest and we'll have you out of here in no time, Alvina said, hoping to give Phal some comfort. Alvina growled in anger when the soldiers appeared. She tried to stand, but was still too tired and sank back down. She tried something else and tried to shoot a ball of fire at the beasts. However, it was much weaker than normal and it barely smoldered on one's leg. Alvina was satisfied to see him hop around in pain, but knew that small fire balls were no help. She watched helplessly as Phalynx and Dragonfly were bound. The former in heavy chains and the later in strong rope, wire-enforced rope. Alvina growled as the soldiers drew nearer to her, but she had decided to wait and regain her strength before making a move. No sense in getting hurt now, might as well be strong when I attack. she thought, becoming still. She closed her eyes, leaving a miniscule crack to watch the creatures with as they tied her up, too.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: i have to use a proxy to get to this topic....but i like this one!
IC:Dragonfly gave out a groan. "Ow, my head." Her bright blue eyes open. She saw a wierd creature. Dragon cried out in suprise. What's going on? Dragon looked around as best she could. She was in a room, not unlike the first one, but bigger. And there were a lot of creatures in it, obviously guarding her. Them, she added seeing the two dragons. The were both bound up in chains. Dragon, herself, was all tied up in wire-enforced rope. Dragon tried to move, but the bonds were way too tight. In fact, they were cutting off her circulation. She shifted around and found something metal in her pocket. Dragon almost laughed. They hadn't found the key to Atlantis! She still had it. Yeah, and what good it'll do. A door opened and Tiacarian came back in. Dragon faked being unconcsious. He briefly looked around, wearing a smile that looked like a leer, and motioned all his creations out. After all of them left, the door melted back into the wall, looking as though there wasn't any in the first place.
Dragon looked over at Phal and was relieved to finally see her stir. "Are you okay, Phal?" she asked. Dragon tried to loosen her bonds, but they just seemed to get tighter. She couldn't feel her hands anymore, nor her feet. The rope seemed to have a mind of its own. "Ow," she said."Phalynx, wake up!" OOC: anyone can bring Chris back in when they see an oppurtunity.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: Just pm me when you get back, Rien.
IC: Phal saw the room as a blur. Her vision got worse and blacked out again, however. She switched to infrared vision, which for some reason was still clear. However, it, too, was fading, but in a different way. The magical vision flickered on and off, impairing her visibility. Phal decided to speak before she blacked out again, hearing Dragon call to her.
I... need... need food 'r water'r something... Phal spoke, her speech slurred. She needed something to regenerate the blood she had lost. She saw Tiacarion enter the room, several of his soldiers carrying an unconscious Chris. Phal's infrared flickered off again, but this time it did not return. Not... enough... energy.......... Alvina, burn dragonropes..... Phal slurred out before slipping to the edge of the world again.
Alvina watched Phal with concern. She wouldn't be able to even walk until they replaced the blood she had lost. She continued to fein unconsciousness, watching the room out of a small crack in her eyelid. Alvina heard Phal mumble some more words before fainting again. Burn dragonropes? I'm in chains... Oh! Of course! Dragon's ropes! Alvina thought, laughing a herself. Dragonfly, remain still and look like you're unconscious. I've regained my strength, and I will burn away your ropes. Try to undo my chains when you're finished, and I will free Chris.
Alvina then moved her head so that it was facing the Ohyaeli. She also twitched her tail to make the movement look involuntary. She could feel Tiacarion's eyes burning into her, but a quick peek confirmed that he had resumed talking to an important-looking officer. Alvina summoned up her fire and suddenly sent a powerful but small fireball at Dragonfly's bonds. The rope easily burned away, and the even the wire was not strong enough to withstand dragonfire. Alvina had also said a small spell to prevent the fire from burning Dragonfly. She said another spell to make the fire and the burning completely silent. She smiled briefly in triumph as Dragonfly was set free, and waited for her to sneak over and undo her chains.
Phal came back again just long enough to experience her words going into action. She smiled faintly before slipping away again.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: i should mention that when Ohnyaeli get burned, it can't be healed by regeneration and any magical means.
Dragonfly looked over at Alvina in alarm, completely forgetting that Tiacarian was in the same room. "Oh no, no you do-" But it was too late. Alvina had already blown fire at her ropes. Dragon immediately went into a furious panic. She yelled and pulled herself free of the melted bonds, her hands and arms partially burned. Now that she was free, Dragonfly started running all over the place yelling, "Fire!!!!!! Get it off of me!!!"
Tiacarian, alerted to the fact that one of his prisoners had escaped, wasted no time in picking up Chris-still unconscious- and holding a diamond knife to his throat. "Stop right now or your twin dies." he said in his wierd echoing voice.
Dragon, still in a panic from the fire, lunged at him and knocked him over, despite her burned hands. She slashed him across the face, leaving four bleeding marks that would later become scars. Dragon attacked him with a relentless fury, until he finally managed to pust the panicked Ohnyaeli off of him.
Dragonfly fell back and snarled, having fallen into a sort of rage. All she wanted to do was KILL them all. So, when two of the creatures came towards her, Dragon lunged at the first one, kicking its legs out from under it, and then snapping its neck. The other one caught her with a blow to her back, but it was glancing and only made her fall. Dragon rolled over and kicked it in the chest with both feet, then flipped up on her feet and slashed at its throat. it fell dead to the ground. Dragonfly turned toward the other ones, and unleashed all her fury upon all of them, slashing at their eyes and necks with her deadly claws, and using her speed and agility and teleporting powers to attack several at once.
Her eyes were still glowing blue when the last creature rushed at her. She sidestepped, grabbed its arm and threw it bodily against the wall. Dragonfly stood at rest the blue glow fading returning to normal. All the creatures were dead.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: Jayde, Alvina said a spell that would prevent Dragon from being burned in the first place. The fire didn't affect her, only the ropes. The spell wasn't to have her get burnt and then heal her, it was to prevent the fire from affecting her at all. I know that Ohnyaeli can't regenerate from fire, but she wouldn't have had to in this case, because the fire wouldn't have affected her in the first place.
Do you want to change your post, or say that Dragon only thought the fire was burning her?

Re: Memories of Vroengard

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: lol. Yeah, I understand that Dragon would probably freak out.
IC: Phal was still unconscious, and growing weaker every moment.
Alvina growled in frustration. One of you, unlock my chains! she yelled to both Dragonfly and Chris. The large dragon was anxious to go after Tiacarion, furious for what he had done and was trying to do.
Alvina thrashed around wildly, though she could not break the chains. She had already tried a spell, but they were seemingly magic-proof. She growled again, and spat a fireball absentmindedly at Tiacarion, satisfied when she heard that she had caught him off guard.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
After she had calmed down, Dragonfly looked around at the carnage she caused. She looked down at her hands, the claws stained with blood. Dragon barely noticed that her hands, as she previously thought (lol) weren't burned. It was just....she had killed them. Killed them all. She had done it before, defending her life and others, but this...this was too much. Hey! Dragon, wake up! You need to help! Don't sit there! she yelled at herself. Her eyes narrowed. Time to save her friends. A burst of fire from Alvina knocked Tiacarian off balance. Dragon lunged for Chris, who was still unconscious, and dragged him away. She slashed away at the wired ropes with her claws and they quickly broke. "Chris? CHRIS!! Wake up, you idiot!!" she yelled. Dragon looked up at Tiacarian, recovering from Alvina's move, and realized something. It was raining. Somewhere on the surface, it was raining. Dragon's eyes glowed blue as she focused the power into summoning a few wolves and a very small sea serpent to battle him. She could see Chris moving and ran over to Alvina. "What do I do? I'm not sure!" Dragon was nervous, looking at the chains. She wasn't strong enough to break them. How I wish I could breathe fire.... Dragon thought to herself, looking around for an idea. Unlock them. Dragon rolled her eyes. Why hadn't she thought of that before? Dragon jumped around the bodies, searching for keys or at least something that passed for a lockpick. Finally, on the body of a high ranking person, she found some keys. Dragon teleported back to Alvina and got to work. Chris got up slowly off the floor, since the entire room was spinning around in circles. He looked around and saw Tiacarian occupied by a large group of animals, and Dragon trying to free Alvina. Unlock them, he told her, then turned around and raced over to Phalynx. "Phal, can you hear me? Hello?" he looked at her, wondering if she was still injured. "Are you still hurt? How can I help?" Not knowing what to do was almost sending both Ohnyaeli into a panic. Chris looked around wildy. What am i supposed to do? Dragon smiled slightly as the last chain slipped off.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phalynx could hear a voice calling to her through the darkness, but with all the blood she had lost, she was too weak to answer. She had to conserve her remaining energy. Phal was just able to send a small wave of feeling to Chris, just to let him know that she was alive.
Alvina smiled as the chains were unlocked and she was freed. Nicely done, Dragonfly. You took care of the soldiers and my chains very efficiently. Now, Tiacarion, since you've finally decided to join us instead of sending your minions, we can finish this face to face, the dragon said proudly. She stood up and flared her impressive wings, preparing for battle.
Alvina roared and tensed, waiting for Tiacarion's next move.

Re: Memories of Vroengard
OOC: sorry, been really lazy....
IC:"Um, thanks," Dragon said to Alvina. She turned her bright blue eyes on Chris and asked and open question. "What are we supposed to do about Phal?" Chris shrugged."Dunno." Tiacarian must've getting annoyed about being ignored. "You may think I am a coward, dragon. I could be. But I just like to preserve my life. And if it makes you all the angrier," Tiacarian gave a smile that gave Dragon the impression of a very evil leer. And then he walked out of the room. Dragonfly snarled and ran after him. Unfortuneately, she ran full tilt into a solid wall. Dragon, not wieghing very much, rebounded off the wall and fell flat on to the wall. "Ouch." Dragon rubbed her forehead. "I hate you, you idiot!!!!"

Re: Memories of Vroengard
Phal was fully unconscious now. She needed to regain her strength and the blood that she had lost.
Alvina roared in fury as Tiacarion left them. The coward! I will tear him to shreds! she said angrily. Sighing, she turned back to the others. For now, why don't we find a way out of here and leave Phal somewhere safe until we can come back and deal with Tiacarion? she suggested.
