i think that angela may be related to the elves or a dragon rider who's dragon died in the Fall. she has been to Elesmera so she would have be really elf friend to be human to get in there.

i think she's probaly justed used magic to prolong her life because its possible only the mind can't be protected from ageing

but why would she literally empty her mind every seventy-eighty years, but how could she remember her old teacher, tenga, if she did that, also, how does she apparantly look in her twenties, not three hundreds.

probably one of her parents or grandparents was an elf

i did not say she nade her mind young and also that would explain why she's a bit nutty if her brains a few 100 years old

but how could those herbs actually keep her alive for three hundred years, i can understand a hundred or so if age expectancy is 70-80 in this book, but not 300

she said that her herbs are the reason she looks young, not why shes old. but other than that maybe, though i think she is a fraction of an elf like 1/64th elf

she did say in book 1 that she had to eat her own herbs in hard times so they could have a few side effects

she said that she looks young because she eats her own herbs. but what i want to know is how she is so old. i think she has an elf ancestor, or was a Rider who's dragon died very early in life.

The possibility that she uses magic is quite real, think back to Eragon meeting the master, how he starts the fire with ought the use of ancient magic. Just because Angelas magic is different, doesn't mean it’s not just as powerful.

As for the problem where it says she struggles to cast the most basic spells, maybe her magic is more passive? Taking a more natural role in helping her, and not being related to the AL at all? That would also mean that she could perhaps extend her life indefinitely, as she wouldn't be bound by the laws of the AL.

She tells us in Eragon that
"you have to understand, my power is not like yours or Arya's. It depends on the use of herbs and potions."
One solution is that she just made a potion that may prolong life probably discovered if of Tenga. But this is unlikely she must just belong to a race that is immortal. I doubt she is a dragon rider because she looks human and from what Eragon experiences before he is changed into an elf we know that the bond between dragon and human changes the human to make them look more like an elf.

pehaps a herb prolongs her life and makes her look young.

Sorry I missed something. Above I said Angela looks human I forgot to mention she admits she is human not an elf or a grey folk if she is she dosen't know herself...

About the herb it would have to be something only Angela or her and Tenga knew because Eragon admits to Roran that no eleves, humans, dwarves or riders have ever discovered a way to defeat ageing without wiping the mind clean of all it's memories.

We need to remember how unusual her magic is though, something she does may not abide by the same rules as something Eragon or Oromis does.

She IS human. Oromis said so himself.

The only real solution to the problem is that Angela has discovered a potion to pro-long life we know it isn't a spell because it is constantly referenced that she is an incompetent spellcaster.

I doubt it, but maybe Solumbun prolongs Angelas life, much like a dragon would to its rider, but on a much smaller scale??

in book 2 it mentions there only being a handful of elf human coulples and none of which worked out reducing the chances of angela being the child of one of these couples. she did say in book 1 that her age was probbaly due to eating her own herbs in hard times.

we must remember that tenga was her mentor "an unfortunante number of years ago" and he must have been older than her at the time, so she is could be prolonging her life however he is.

i dont remember that i'll reread just to check. though the varden wouldnt let an incompentent spell caster heal eragons back.

She is the strongest one there at the time. Arya was unconscience, the twins were with Ajihad...

When Angela was healing Eragon's back she explained to Eragon that her power came from herbs and potions and there was a limit to what she could do she did not heal Eragon's back with a spell.

how does healing eragons back have to deal with her age? dont get mad though if this is to sort it is all i have to say.

No, that was Trianna and what she did wasn't that complicated she only said "give this snake life's movement".

I have the book. I looked it up. Trianna not Angela turned the snake bracelet into an imitation of life. Saphira then chased her away.
