this is a fairly recent WWII movie, about the Pacific Theatre of the Second World War. A well-trained but green company of US Army Rangers has to rescue POWs from a Japanese POW camp before the Japanese kill them, because they know that they're on the run. It is rated R, mostly for language, which is pretty serious if you don't have a filter, called a Guardian, on your DVD player, like I do. Blood is very minor, a red mist, and really isn't a problem at all. I wouldn't reccommend it for those without a Guardian or filter, or those who cannot handle violence or whose parents don't allow it. For those with a filter, no one under 10 should see it, and preferably older. I was fourteen when I saw it, and with the filter it was no problem. W/o a filter, much older would be good, as the language is VERY much present. Violence doesn't hold a candle to Saving Private Ryan, or what I've heard of it, but I wouldn't recommend seeing it w/o a filter if possible, as the language is extreme.

It's a good movie, and a great story. I beleive a true story as well. The actor of Harry Osborne from spiderman plays a main roll. But again, w/o a filter it is a VERY harsh movie. Some peole do not care about such things, but its not healthy to see unfiltered.

well, they deserved it, that's for sure. The Japanese were VERY cruel. It really shows that in one of the opening scenes.
