Kurdon playfully glared over at Vermona. "No thank you..." He sat in silence for a bit, staring at the ground, when a thought struck him. A thought that made him look up at the three of them around him. He had just realized that these three were as close to as having friends as he had ever been in his life. He liked that way it felt, although he could feel the other side of him pushing it away, and telling him to kill them. He ignored it, and continued sitting in silence.

OOC: got any ideas for a plot of some kind?

Not anything definite. Perhaps I could bring in a certain golden-amethyst dragoness...and perhaps you could bring in a certain Reaper? And/or even your new charry?

IC:
Vermona grinned, chortling under her breath. Her keen eyes looked to the horizon warily as it lit up with dawn. She quickly drew her cloak over her shoulders, wrapping it around herself and lifting the hood over her head, covering the bottom part of her face with a wrap. The first rays of sunlight cascaded across the landscape, and she cringed with a pained hiss. It didn't exactly hurt, but it wasn't really comfortable either.

Mýa looked on toward Vermona sympathetically. Werewolves and vampires may be natural enemies, but that didn't mean that some of both of their races were more civilized than others.

Kurdon looked over at Vermona when she hissed. He hadn't noticed it until now, but the sun was coming up. He knew that vampires didn't exactly like sun light, but there wasn't anything he could do to help. "Should we find maybe a darker place to sit?" He asked anyone that cared to answer.

OOC: hmm...maybe...I was hoping to save Laiel so I could make an awkward appearance in a group of bad people, but if you want to bring in Jia and I'll bring in Ka thats fine...I just got a small idea.

"It's always me, and it's always on foot. He never sends one of his pet dragons out of scouting missions, nooo...send the one that can't fly." Rathon had been grumbling like this ever since the King sent him out on a scouting mission into the random country side. He wasn't even sure what his goal was other than the messenger had said that the King said don't return for 3 days. As he was walking along the road, he spotted a small group in the distance. He only saw them because they were blocking out the sun light that was coming over the gently sloping hill they were on. He figured they were pilgrims, and decided to see what they had that he may want. He continued to walk until he was within their hearing distance. "Aye! Pilgrims!" Once he knew he had their attention, he continued until he was right beside them. He held up a metal badge that had the twisting flame of Galbatorix pinned to a piece of leather. "In the name of the King, I demand that you hand over your possessions for my inspection." His voice had a tone of authority, like a Captain's voice when he spoke to his troops. He stood there and waited for them to comply, paying attention only to Kurdon and Vermona,ignoring Mya and Nachel completely.

Vermona looked up at him, the only thing visible being her eyes,"No need. The sun doesn't actually hurt me, its just not exactly comfortable." she said, and rolled back the sleeve of her cloak to reveal her forearm. As soon as the light touched her skin, her flesh erupted with dazzling light, glittering and shimmering like thousands of tiny diamonds embedded in her skin. She lowered the sleeve, again concealing her forearm. She didn't get the chance to speak when a voice rang out. She rolled her eyes and stood, eying the man up and down,"I do not answer to your king, runt." she growled, tensing.

Mýa grumbled and got to her paws, shaking her pelt. Nachel stood at her left shoulder as she paced forward to stand beside the female vampire. What, we're not interesting enough? she asked in a mockingly hurt voice, her ears laid flat back against her skull.

Jia angled her head around as she abruptly felt a familiar mind. Her eyes narrowed to cat-like slits. A mind that only brought back unpleasant memories. She growled to herself and tilted her wings, searching for the source. She found it. A group of four, confronted by a single man. Her mood turned foul and she pulled in her wings. She landed with a medium thud in between the four and the man, whom she knew. Quite well. Get out of here Rathon. These four are none of your beeswax. she said irritably, eying him. She'd been flying for days, hadn't hunted in two weeks, and was in a truly foul and deadly mood. She hoped Rathon knew that.

Kurdon shielded his eyes against the bright specks of light that were being thrown off Vermona. " He was getting ready to comment on it when he heard someone shouting. He looked and saw a man coming toward them. "oh great...." Once the man got there, showed that he worked for the King, and demanded their things, Kurdon went into instant defiance mode. Although he didn't get the chance before a large golden dragon landed between them and him. He slide backwards away from it and didn't say anything.

Rathon was startled that the wolves had spoken to him. "And who or what are you exactly?" He asked, still waiting for the other two to give him their things. Before he could say anything to them, a voice rang out in his head, one that he knew all too well. He took a step back as Jia landed. "Hello Jia, nice to see you again..." He said sarcastically. "I don't know what you are doing here, nor do I care, I am only interested in those four behind you. Now, if you would kindly get out of my way..." He motioned for Jia to step back so he could resume his robbery.

Vermona merely watched as the dragon landed, squinting as the sunlight shone off its scales.

Jia bared her teeth in a vicious snarl. I'm not in the mood for your games, Rathon. Ever seen a dragon in a bad mood, Rath? Not to mention I haven't hunted in two weeks and I'm hungry. You look appetizing right now. Back off. she warned, hissing softly.

Kurdon watched, slowly getting bored, as the man and dragon conversed. When he heard the dragon hiss, he assumed that the two weren't friends.

Rathon closed his eyes, pinched the bridge of his nose, and looked down in irritation. [i]"Jia...I realize that we are enemies, but you have no affiliation with these people. Why are you insisting on making this difficult?! All you have to do is fly away and pretend like nothing is happening. I may not even take anything of theirs! I may just see what they have! I'm here on scouting orders and can return to the Capitol for 3 days and I'm really not in the mood to fight you...so please, just leave..." He looked at her pleadingly. He didn't want to be there. He would like to return to Uru'Baen and laze around as he had been, but until three days were up he couldn't.

It hit Kurdon like a ton of bricks. He heard a chilling laughter in his head, and then in his ears. He laughed his cold laugh and stood up. "You two are boring...and I don't like dragons..." He threw up both arms, and a column of energy hit Jia in the middle of her stomach. He send a shot of energy under Jia and hit Rathon in the chest, sending him backwards.

Rathon put his hands up, he had no reason to fight Jia right then. "Alright alright...I'll leave you to your-" He cut off as a column of energy hit her in the stomach from below. He looked around to see who had done it, and was hit by the shot in the chest. He flew back and hit a tree with a dull thud and slid down the trunk. "Ow...that hurt..." He looked up and saw a the male pilgrim standing with a malicious grin plastered on his face.

Rathon was surprised to see Jia step in front of him, protecting him "Jia, what the hell are you doing?!" He was begining to think he had been hit harder than he had thought was was hallucinating.

Kurdon laughed at Jia when she said she wasn't in the mood to play. "Well then we have a problem, because that's exactly what I'm in the mood for!" He threw up both arms, and a wall of energy hit Jia in the chest again, but this time it hit her with enough force to lift her off of her paws. "Come on dragon, entertain me!" He laughed again, a maniacal laugh, his white eyes shining.

OOC: is Jia feeling ok? Shes protecting Rath...maybe she should lay down for a bit lol

Jia glanced back at Rathon, her teal eyes shimmering. Protecting your pathetic hide. Only me and Ka are allowed to pick on you. she growled, turning. She was just in time to see the energy coming to her chest. She was thrown back, spinning head over tail, with an "oof!", landing with a loud thud a few feet to Rathon's left. She laid there, dazed, for a few moments, then staggered to her paws. She twisted around to the man, her fangs bared. Now you've done it. she snarled, and sprang toward him with her talons splayed. She was surprised as the cloaked figure, who smelled female, abruptly appeared in front of the man. Jia beat her wings to bring her up short, alighting a yard before the female. This is not truly him. In this state, he can not be held responsible for his actions. pleaded the female, its dark crimson eyes peering out from the hood. She hissed. I don't really care right now. she retorted, and leaped forward. The figure flashed forward straight into her chest, knocking her back. The figure grunted with pain as she pulled away before flashing back to her position in front of the man. The gold-amethyst picked herself up unsteadily, gasping for breath. The air had been knocked from her lungs with the blow.

Rathon rolled his eyes. "Alright then..." He said getting up. He cracked his back and took a step forward, just as Jia flew backwards and landed beside him. He wasn't sure whether to help or just let them beat her up, they were enemies after all. After a bit of deliberation, he came to the same conclusion Jia had: He was the only one that could make them miserable. He teleported to behind the man, blade drawn, and slashed upward, hip to shoulder.

Kurdon held his grin as he saw Jia flip threw the air, and prepaired to attack again when Vermona stepped in the way. He watched her hit the dragon and knock it back. "Vermona...this is my fight, interfere and I will consider you to be an enemy." He to make his point, he made the back of her cloak heat up a little. Suddenly, he felt someone behind him, and threw up an energy barrier. He heard the metallic clank of a sword bouncing off his barrier. "Nice try, but you'll have to try better than that..." He said, and spun around and kicked Rathon in the jaw, breaking it, and sending him cartwheeling to the left. He came to a stop in the ditch, not moving. "Heh...guess he couldn't take it..."

Rathon got up with a groan, and a searing pain in his jaw. He felt it, and felt jagged bone. Kurdon's kick had torn his skin and broken his jaw. He quickly mended it with a seal and raced to help Jia.

Kurdon still had his back turned to Jia, but he could feel her energy. Just as she slashed, he ducked and jumped backward, under the blow. Now he was under her chest. He spun around so that he was sideways to her chest and placed both hands on her, one next to the other. With a grunt, he lifted Jia off of her hind legs. Although she wasn't a full grown dragon, it was still a difficult task; a vein bulged in his neck with effort. Once her hind legs where off the ground, he threw her on her side. His eyes were wild. "Oh this is fun! come on! Come on!" He said waving his hands at Rathon and Jia.

Rathon stopped dead when he saw the man lifted Jia in the air like a barrel and throw her. The very idea that someone could have that much strength was too much for Rathon to comprehend. He ran over to her side to make sure she wasn't hurt to badly, he didn't want to fight this man alone.

Kurdon looked at the two; man and dragon. With a sick grin he slowly advanced toward them, gathering energy in each striking point; fists, elbows, knees, and feet. He planned on punching threw the dragon and taking it's heart, and then crushing the man's head.

Rathon clenched his fists at the sight of the man's emotions. By the time Jia asked him if there was any Seals to control emotions, he had already been thinking. "Other than a Chaos Seal...no...a Chaos Seal is the only thing that is as volatile as a person's emotions, especially negative ones." He sighed, but he wasn't content on letting him just beat them like this. "If you can keep him occupied long enough, I think I can make a seal that will at least calm him down." He said, and starting thinking of the runes he would need.

Rathon agreed with Jia, Ka would be very useful right now. Even though she couldn't see him, he nodded at her order to stay behind her. He took on his True Form and began gathering the base seals around him in a circle. He started choosing specific runes that he would need, no longer pay attention to the man or Jia.

Kurdon continued to slowly advance on the pair, noting that they seemed to have formed some kind of plan. "What ever you are planning...it won't work." He said, upping his pace. Suddenly he broke out into a dead sprint at Jia, fist raised and ready to strike.

Kurdon hadn't been expecting the dragon to dodge, so when she struck his back he was doubly surprised. He hit the ground, and before he could get his bearings again, he was flying threw the air. He landed on all fours and slide a few feet back. He stay liek that for a few seconds before snapping his head up to look at Jia with a grin. "About time you came around..." He stood back up and stared at Jia. It looked like he was simply standing there, but actually he was charging his legs with energy. Once he felt he had enough he sprinted at her again. This time he was nothing more than a blur in the air. He reached her chest in half a second, arm already ready to punch. He punched her chest with enough strength to shatter bone, made all the worse by the energy on his hand.

Miles and miles away, a white hot pain lanced threw Ka's chest. He had just gotten back from buying some supplies and made it back to his room. He clutched his chest and coughed hard, coughing up blood. The thing was, was that he wasn't hurt. He knew in that instant that something was wrong with Jia. He dropped his supplies and began a rapid series of teleports to get to her, but it would still take time.

Kurdon laughed when he saw her cough blood, finding it extremely amusing. Taking a stance, he prepared for her to charge into him. Just as he tensed for a head on impact, he saw her spin. He couldn't react fast enough and was hit by her tail, the scales and spikes tearing into his back, making a deep gash. He flew a few feet and landed face down. "That...hurt..." He said, slowly getting back up and facing her. He charged his legs with energy again, getting ready for another punch at her chest, when he felt a sharp pain go threw his back. He looked down and saw a sword coming threw his back to front. "Where did you come from?" He asked weakly before passing out.

Ka managed had put on a burst of speed when he felt that he was getting closer. He reached Jia sword in hand just as a man was getting ready to attack her again. He didn't ask any questions, instead he stabbed him threw a gash that was already in his back. When he saw that the man had passed out, he rushed over to Jia. "Jia!" Was all he said before he started healing her chest, taking no notice to Rathon behind her.

Ka nodded and concentrated on her ribs and lung, removing and replacing the blood and mending her lung and ribs. The process didn't take very long, as Ka was getting better at using healing seals. "Ok...is that better?" He asked, once he was done healing everything that had been broken. He felt and poked around the scales on her chest, making sure none of the bones where jutting up.

Meanwhile, Rathon was putting the finishing runes in the seal. The new seal was a deep purple with a red outer ring and 2 blue inner rings. He let the base seals fade away and released his true form, nearly collapsing from exhaustion. He stumbled around Jia, using her for balance. He didn't even have enough strength to speak with her mentally. "J-Jia....I'm done with the seal, where i- ...." He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Ka standing in front of Jia, healing her. they both stared at each other in silence.

Rathon saw her motion him forward but stayed where he was. He didn't respond to anything until she mentioned the seal. "Oh right..the seal, it's done. I can use it to calm him down...where is he?" He then noticed that Jia seemed to be tired, and assumed she had been attacked and weakened. He started pouring some of his energy into her to try and help.

For a moment, all Ka saw was his brother. THe sound of Jia's weakened voice snapped him out of it though. "Alright...but if he makes on false move..." He said only to her, and began pouring his own energy into her at the same time Rathon did. Neither of them knew that the other was doing the same thing they were, so they both poured in energy as if it were only them helping Jia.

Not too far away, Kurdon was slowly coming too. He remained silent on the ground, using energy to heal his wounds. He wanted to wait until the last possible second to strike. Then he decided that he was tired of waiting, all of about 3 seconds, and sent a tendril of energy toward the three of them. It formed a circle around them, one they couldn't see. Once the circle completed itself, it exploded into a dome of fire. With his trap sprung, Kurdon slowly stood up.

Ka jumped and looked around at the dome of fire that now surrounded them and mentally kicked himself for not making sure the man was dead. At Jia's word, he climbed onto the saddle, and left enough room for Rathon. "Come on Rath..." he said looking down at his brother.

Rathon simply looked around at the fire dome that suddenly surrounded them. He took a step back from Jia and Ka and shook his head when Jia said get on. "Where are we going to go? We're surrounded by fire...We can't fly out, and there is something about it that stops me from teleporting. We're stuck." He said, still looking at the fire. Suddenly, he felt a kick on the back of his head and spun around to see Ka's foot winding up for another kick. "Don't be stubborn Rath...just get on" Said his brother. He sighed and climbed into the saddle behind Ka, wondering what Jia had planned.

Ka held on tight as Jia shot into the sky. When they reached as high as were going to go Ka relaxed his grip and looked down. Below him he saw a small dot or two, he couldn't tell at this height. "I'm fine..." He said in response to Jia's concern.

Rathon hadn't been expecting the sudden lurch as Jia took off and rose into the air. He had never rode on a dragon, so this was an interesting experience for him. "I'm fine as well..." he said, looking all around him, enjoying the feeling of being so high up. Suddenly, he got an idea. He flashed Ka an image of his idea, which casued Ka to grin. Rathon made a hell fire cannon seal and waited for Ka.

Ka grinned at the images of Rathon's idea. What Rathon was thinking was to attack Kurdon form up here. "Jia...can you keep flying in a circle around that man down there?" He asked as he made void seal of far sight and a hell seal of the holocaust rain. With the void seal in place, both himself and Rathon could clearly see the man, standing in the road,just standing. Once they were both ready, Ka signaled to Rathon and they unleashed their hell-fire rain onto Kurdon. A mixture of small white hot fireballs that sizzled threw the air, and a massive fireball cannon that shook the air with each firing.

Down below, Kurdon watched as they flew into the sky, and continued to watch until he couldn't see them. "I guess they ran away." He said to himself. He turn to walk away, but heard an explosion far above him and looked up. He looked up just in time to see a large fire ball and a rain of white hot fire balls hurling at him. He ducked and rolled to avoid the attacks. He looked up, and noticed something he hadn't noticed before; a small spect of energy far above him. "So there you are..." He dodged another volly. "I hope you're ready..." He said as he started to jump into the air, using small energy platforms to go up.

Rathon saw his first and started firing at him. He missed most of his shots as Kurdon seemed to be adept at dodging. One fireball hit him, and sent his flying back towards the earth.

Ka stopped his attack when Jia suggested he put a hell seal in her so she could breath fire. "I could, but I don't know what the effects on you may be..." He didn't want to give her fire before she was ready, and possible hurt her or mess up her natural body systems. "Are you sure you want me to?"He said, wanting to be sure that this was what she wanted.

As the attacks came down, Kurdon dodged them. They were easy to dodge because the large fireballs where slow, and the small ones had to follow him, so as long as he kept moving and kept going up, they wouldn't hit him. All of a sudden, the small ones stopped. Kurdon looked up, wondering what was going on. He stayed in one spot for too long, and couldn't move fast enough to dodge the on coming fireball. The resulting explosion knocked him backwards threw the air at the ground. Halfway down, he caught himself. "Ouch..." he muttered under his breath. He hadn't been seriously hurt, but it still stung. He started jumping up toward them again.

Ka didn't feel good about putting a seal inside of Jia. The reason behind this was that as far as he knew, it had never been done before. He made 3 different hell seals, so that Jia would be able to vary her fire attacks to a degree. The first was the Hell Fire Cannon, this way she would be able to charge a massive fireball before letting it loose. The next was the River of Fire. As it sounds, it is a seal that releases a constant stream of fire, like normal dragon breath. The last was Bolt Fire. This seal was a unique seal, as it combined lightning and fire into one element. It produced a fireball that could either be charged or fired at a blindingly fast pace; 25 per second. A charged shot would contain a core of lightning inside of a fire shell, while the rapid shots would be fire wrapped in lightning. He relayed this information to Jia as he placed the seals where she had told him to.

Meanwhile, Rathon was having a tough time keeping Kurdon at bay. "Assistance would be greatly appreciated here!" he said to both of them. Kurdon was either dodging or blocking everything Rathon threw at him, and slowly advancing while he did so.

Ka watched in amazement as flame spilled forth form Jia's maw is a burning display of power. He knew that she had been a deadly fighter before, but if he kept his seals in place until she gained her real fire breath, she would be devastating. Rathon was watching as well, a similar look of awe on his face.

Kurdon felt the fireballs before he saw them, but when he did see them it was just barley. He managed to dodge a few, but the rest of the Bolt Fires connected. For several seconds, the pain of the fire and shock from the lightning stunned him so he couldn't see. He regained his vision just in time to see a large fire ball hurling at him, followed by a large cloud like form of fire. They were both too big for him to take control of, and it was too late to try and dodge. He formed a energy barrier around him to protect himself from the raging inferno. Just as the fire reached him, his need for destruction vanished and he became right of mind. He knew it was too late to get the dragon to stop the attack, so he sat there and let the fire rage into his barrier. When it hit, the barrier began to heat up on the inside, like an oven. It got so hot, that his sword began to burn it's sheath. When the inferno ended, he dropped his barrier. He was smoking from the amount of heat that had been trapped in the barrier. His skin was red and he was sweating profusely. With dropping eyes like those of a weary man, he began to fall from the sky.

Ka watched Kurdon fall, and was surprised when Jia dove after him. If it had been up to him, he would have let him fall. Once Jia alighted on the ground with the man in hand, Ka jumped off. When she showed him what the man's emotions were he realized why she had dove after him; he had calmed down and seemed to be a completely different person now. He stood back and watch Rathon do his thing.

Once they hit ground and Rathon saw that the man had calmed down, he had the seal ready to use, even before Jia asked him to. While he was putting the sea on Kurdon, he heard Jia's comment to him. " I'm not...for reasons that you have just displayed. I don't know if I could take one in single combat. Although I'm no fool, just because I don't like someone doesn't mean I won't ally myself with them if I need to." He said as he lowed the seal onto Kurdon. As soon as it touched Kurdon, a blinding white flash of light appeared and the seal cycled threw all of the base seals. It stopped on a gray seal with the reapric rune for chaos in the middle. "Get back!" Was all Rathon could say before the seal exploded. Ka and Rathon hit the dirt and didn't get up for a few seconds after the explosion, just in case. Rathon looked, and saw that Kurdon was completely healed, but still passed out.

OOC: I'll reveal what the random effect of the chaos seal was at the end when Rath goes back to Uru'Baen...I'll give you a hint, it's not something that would ever happen and involves Galabortix and Rathon...

Jia sighed at Rathon's response, deciding not to respond. She simply watched as the reaper lowered the Seal, feeling her eyes go wide as it abruptly changed to a Chaos Seal. Her growl was cut off by Rathon's warning. When the brothers dove away, she jumped over them, curling her body around them into a protective shell so her hard scales completely surrounded them. Once the explosion had finished, she warily lifted her head and gazed around, slowly uncoiling her body to allow Ka and Rathon a view. She hovered above them protectively, soft, warning growls emanating from her chest. Her upper lip quivered as smoke trails wafted from her nostrils. She finally relaxed enough to back off so the two Reapers could stand. The man was healed, though still passed out. She sat on her haunches behind the brothers, watching them now. Now that the threat was over, would Rathon abruptly switch sides and try to off her and Ka? She sighed inwardly at the thought. She wished she could help the Imperial Reaper, but knew it was futile until the mad King was taken down. Suddenly she was irritated again.

Ka tried to get up but realized that Jia was standing oer them protectively. He laid there and waited for her to move. Once she had he stood up and looked at the man. He was healed, but still out. He looked over at Rathon and his thoughts drifted to ones that were similar to Jia's: would he attack them? He felt Jia's mood suddenly shift from protective to irritated. He moved closer to her and tried to sooth her with his mind, still looking at Rathon.

Once Jia got off of him, he didn't get up but sat down. He noticed that the man had been healed but hadn't woken up. He was more concerned with what the chaos seal had done than Jia and his brother at the moment. He suddenly felt their eyes on him and he turned to look at them. "What? If you're worried I'm going to attack you than don't be. I'm under no orders to fight anyone, plus, I'm too tired to fight right now." He said yawning and laying back on the ground.

At first, Ka didn't notice the three from before as he hadn't noticed them when he first came here. When the woman touched Jia's nose he was instantly alert, but soon relaxed as he felt Jia's mood change to calm. When the woman said what she and the wolves behind her were,he nodded to them. "Well met...is he yours?" He asked, motioning at the passed out body of Kurdon.

Rathon watched as the woman from before approached Jia. He didn't move, but was curious as to what it was she was doing. He remained where he was on the ground.

Ka watched as the woman keeled by the man and looked him over for injuries. He had to look away however, when she cut her wrist and poured her blood into the man's mouth. When she asked if he or his brother needed any they both replied with a simultaneous "No" Which caused them to look at each other grinning. "I assume you all have names...I'm Ka, this is Jia, and that's Rathon..." He said, introducing their small group.

As soon as Vermona moved him, Kurdon woke up. He was calm, but very tired. He heard people talking, and then something wet hit his lips and mouth. He swallowed, and felt a little better but remained where he was, just listening.

Vermona dipped her head to each,"I'm Vermona, the white wolf is Nachel, the blue-grey is Mya, and this man is Kurdon." she said, idly inclining her head to each of them.

Jia shuddered visibly at the temptation of the vampires blood. She had to hunt. Soon. Now. Without giving explanation, she spread her wings and jumped into the sky, intent on finding prey. She flew a few leagues away from the main group, finding a small herd of white-tail deer. She downed two young bucks and a doe with a quick spit of her Bolt Fire. She picked them up, placing two on her back and devouring the third. She winged her way back to the main group, quickly finishing the deer and tossing the carcass down. By now she was above the others. She dove and landed with a somewhat loud thud, alighting a few yards from the others. She crouched down and practically inhaled the second deer.

Vermona shrugged,"I haven't really been past the Boer mountains, and I was curious on how the rest of Alagaësia looked. My mate is somewhere in the Spine, I think." she added, sitting down gracefully with her legs crossed.

Mýa sat close to Kurdon, just close enough for her fur to brush against his side. I'm the Alpha of a werewolf pack in Du Weldenvarden. Me and my mate decided we wanted a break from being in charge, so we came out here to relax. she said, and her lips pulled away from her teeth in a wolfish grin. Nachel padded to her side and nuzzled her scruff with his snout, his golden eyes gleaming. She snorted softly and ignored him.

Jia slowed down on the third deer, finally feeling some sense of rationality returning to her mind. She stopped just below the deers sternum, licking her jaws free of blood. She picked up the remainder of the carcass and padded to the group. She laid the buck close to Ka and Rathon for them to divide. She settled down on her belly with a soft sigh, content now. She noted that the vampire was eying the deer hungrily, her dark crimson irises fixed on it. She glanced back at Ka, knowing he would object to what she wanted to do, so she blocked him from that part of her mind. She knew that would alarm him, so she acted quickly. She motioned to the vampire with her tail. Come here. she said simply. Vermona eyed her warily, then slowly began to walk toward the gold-amethyst.

Ka listened to them tell their respective stories. He found it interesting that a pack had 2 leaders rather than one, as he had always seen in any kind of hierarchy. He jolted suddenly as Jia cut off part of their connection. He looked over at her with mild alarm. "What was that about Jia?" He asked, spying the vampire walking over. Rathon had fallen asleep on the ground.

Kurdon too listened as they told thier stories, and when he felt the fur of one of the wolves he cracked an eye open. He saw that it was Mya, so he reached out and started scratching her ear.

Jia glanced back quickly at Ka as he asked why she'd blocked him from part of her mind. She shook her head minutely at him. Just wait. she murmured to him in the back of his mind, then focused on the vampire, who now stood less than half a dragon tail length away. She got up and padded forward until she stood in front of Vermona. The vampire was uneasy, shifting her weight from foot to foot. You are thirsty. You haven't been able to feed properly. she said, stating a fact. Vermona nodded warily. Jia lifted her right foreleg and twisted it so the underside faced up. She brought it up to her muzzle, peeling back her upper lip to bare one razor sharp fang. She dug the tip of her fang into her flesh, ripping slightly down so she had a gash three inches long and deep enough to draw blood. The vampire held her breath, backing away rapidly. No. It's okay. she soothed, extending her leg out to Vermona. The vampire hesitated, her fangs elongating, then flashed forward eagerly and latched her jaws over the wound, drawing out the blood almost savagely. She shuddered, her instincts telling her to recoil, but she forced her muscles to remain relaxed. Jia waved her tail warningly toward her Rider, cautioning him to stay back.

Mýa closed her eyes and crooned in her throat as Kurdon began scratching her ear. She purred softly, laying down beside the twoleg and setting her head on his chest.

Ka stared, horrified, as he watched Jia cut herself to let Vermona feed. It took more will than he thought he had to keep from running over and shoving Vermona off of Jia. He looked away from them, he knew that if he watched for any longer he was libel to do something that would make Jia angry with him and start a fight.

Kurdon continued to scratch Mya's ear, looking at her when she laid her head on his chest. He whispered to her, "I didn't cause too much damage did I?". He couldn't remember anything that had happened. It was blank from when Jia appeared until he woke up on the ground.

Mýa huffed softly. Not much. You beat Jia around a little bit, but she knocked you out with a blast of fire and Rathon put something on you to help you control your destructive side. she relayed, humming gently in her throat.

Jia grunted as the vampire continued feeding; she must have been putting off her thirst for a while now to be so starved. She shuddered as Vermona finally pulled away, licking her lips greedily. The vampire swept her pale tongue over the wound, sealing it instantly. Now her eyes were a healthy, vivid emerald green,"Thank you, Vevlina." Vermona murmured, then glanced quickly behind her, flashing away from her in another instant. Slowly she turned and limped toward Ka, her foreleg throbbing from the massive loss of blood. She laid wearily on her stomach with her head on her paws, her eyes drooping shut. If your going to yell at me, please do it later. she mumbled, yawning tiredly.

Kurdon sighed to himself. He figured there was more to it, but he really didn't want to know. He continued to scratch, letting his mind wander a bit.

Ka finally looked back over when he heard Jia coming over to him. He didn't reply to her request of being yelled at later, even though he didn't plan on yelling at her. He raised his hand and made a heaven seal on her paw, healing it and restoring the blood and energy she had lost. "I'm not going to yell at you...but if you wake up with Fireroot strapped to the base of your tail, don't complain." Since she had a good knowledge of herbs, he knew that she would know that Fireroot was a deadly plant, to humans and most other two legged creatures. If Ka were to touch it with his bare skin, it would sear his flesh as if he had put it over a fire. However, it caused almost no damage to dragons because of their scales. The only way a dragon could be effected by it was if it touched their softer scales, like under their tail, their paws, or under belly, and then it would only cause an uncomfortable burning sensation, no lasting damage. "What if she hadn't have let go and drained too much of your blood? You could have lost your leg because I couldn't have replaced the blood you would have lost..." He said sternly, then more gently, "If you are going to do something like that, at least tell me so I can be prepared if something were to go wrong, and have faith that I won't over react." He looked at her and smiled a bit, showing that he wasn't mad.

Ka grinned in in response to her narrowed eyes. "I have my ways..." Was his simple reply. When she stated that none grew around here, he couldn't think of a come back so settled on sticking out his tongue at her. "Well aren't you a smarty?" He said sarcastically. He put his hand on her nose and rubbed softy, feeling the multitude of smaller scales under his hand. "You should know by now that I don't trust strangers like you do..." He chuckled when she compared him to her brother in terms of protectiveness. "Of course...I don't know what I would do if I lost you." He said tenderly. He closed his eyes and continued to pet her nose.

Rathon had fallen asleep some time ago, his dreams constantly switching. After multiple random images of pink dragons, dwarves with giant black wings, and a singing unicorn, his mind settled on a image of a man. "Rathon, the King would like me to remind you that you have 1 day left until you must return to Uru'Baen. He would also like to to stress that you must not be late." The images faded and Rathon blinked his eyes open and looked around. He was still laying on the ground, Jia and Ka where a few feet in front of his feet, and the group of three where sitting farther away on his right. suddenly, a loud ringing noise filled his ears. "AHH!" He yelled out and covered his ears. He knew what it meant, and sent the whole group an image of a blood red dragon flying low, with a rider on his back; Thorn and Murtagh. Ka and Rathon locked eyes and began casting seals and spells to conceal the groups location, by sight, smell, and magical detection. The only way that anyone would know they were there was if they ran into one of them. The dragon and rider pair were still some leagues away, but Rathon knew very well how keen a dragon's eyes were, and if he were seen hanging with the enemy of the Empire, there would be no end to his punishment.

As soon as they were done casting seals and spells of concealment Ka looked around, trying to find Thorn. His eye caught a red spark in the distance, and he knew it was Thorn. He looked around and saw Jia covering Rathon with her wing. He looked back at Thorn and used a seal to magnify him. He saw the dragon looking around at the ground, and Murtagh looking threw the skies. They knew they were here, but they didn't know where. He continued to watch them, and as he did he noticed that Thorn was slowly curving in their direction. They're coming this way...stay still." He warned, and continued to watch them as they got closer.

Panic began to creep into Rathon's mind as Thorn drew nearer. He knew that if he was seen with Jia and Ka and he wasn't attacking them, there was no telling what would happen. His panic threatened to overcome him just as Jia spoke to him, telling him to hide under his wing. He quickly complied and crawled under her wing to hide.

Rathon tensed, ready to leave at a moments notice. Suddenly, the thought of leaving seemed repulsive to him. He knew he owed Jia for protecting him when Kurdon had attacked earlier. He began to become conflicted about leaving.

Ka already had his mind shielded to all but Jia and Rathon. When Jia urged him to come under he wing with her tail, he slipped out of her grasp and stayed where he was. He continued to watch as Thorn descended, reaching the ground in a clearing a few yards off the road they were on. He sniffed the air, as Murtagh called out in a magically magnified voice. "Come out Rathon! I know you are here! Thorn can smell you, and your new friends!" As if to confirm, the red dragon growled. Although they both continued to look around, unsure of were they were hiding.

Thorn looked over sharply at Jia and growled at her sudden appearance "I would like to see you try that." retorted the red dragon with a sneer. Murtagh looked at her, then from where she had come from and grinned. He muttered a few words under his breath and dispelled the magical protections around the group, but not the Seals. This confused Murtagh a bit, as ot how the golden dragoness had seemed to materialize out of thin air. Murtagh jumped off of Thorn and walked toward where Jia had come from, ignoring her completely. He made a waving motion at Jia with his hand. Thorn knew what this meant. He opened his maw and released a gout of red fire at Jia to distract her form his Rider. As Murtagh approached, Ka drew his blade and stood in front of Rathon. He was momentarily torn between helping Jia, or protecting his brother, but it was short lived, as he knew what Jia would want him to do.

When Jia leaped off of him, he suddenly felt exposed. He looked form their magical barrier and saw that Thorn had landed and Murtagh was walking over. He also Murtagh walking toward them, and Ka still hidden inside of the barrier, ready to launch a surprise attack.

OOC: This should be interesting...at least for you...(watching me fail at using a dragon character I mean) lol

Jia sprang out of the way of the fire, but instead of going away from the shield to combat with Thorn, like the red probably expected, she jumped in front of Murtagh and activated the Bolt Fire, this time charging it into a shell of fire with lightning inside. She launched it toward Murtagh, intending to send him careening back toward his dragon. She hissed, a menacing sound. I'm not even trying, are you sure you know how to fight? she retorted back to the red male. She opened her jaws as she activated the River of Fire, sending flames boiling out of her jaws an enveloping the Dragon and Rider pair. After a few moments of this she spread her wings and leaped into the sky, now using the Hell Fire Cannon. She gathered the fire within her maw then released it with a roar, watching it soar out of her mouth down onto Murtagh and Thorn.

I think your doing fine, actually. It will just take practice for you to get better, like anything else in the world.

Jia snarled and clamped her jaws down harder. Stay still you over sized runt. she snapped, digging her talons into Thorn's shoulders and thighs.

Vermona slipped out of the shield behind Murtagh, slinking along silent as a shadow. She had shed her cloak and now her skin was sparkling beautifully like a thousand diamonds were embedded within her flesh. She stood straight just behind Murtagh, raising a questioning eyebrow at Ka. She wanted to know if the Reaper wanted her to interfere.

Jia shrieked with pain as he ripped the inside of her left thigh to pieces, but refused to loosen her hold. She launched a somewhat small Hell Fire Cannon onto his neck, burning his scales and reaching the tender underskin. I said hold still! she snarled, moving her jaws back and forth as well as opened and closed slightly, as if she were chewing.

Vermona nodded, then lunged forward. She wrapped one arm around his torso, pinning his arms to his sides, while she wound the other around his neck. She pushed Murtagh's head back with her elbow, baring his throat, then looked at Thorn as if she were bored,"You, over sized runt, hurt Jia one more time and your Rider's neck will be in two pieces, got it?" she snarled, her tone menacing and dark, completely opposite from the expression on her face.

Vermona hardly reacted, only continued to stare at Murtagh. Abruptly her leg flashed out, knocking his legs out from under him and breaking both of his shins. The she leaned in close to his face, pealing her lips back to show him her pair of two inch long fangs,"Rethink your strategy. I can break your neck and then run to Jia before your dragon even moves a muscle. Your choice." she threatened darkly, her voice heavily distorted due to her canines.

Jia snarled and opened her jaws, activating her Hell Fire Cannon. The massive fireball launched from her jaws and slammed into his side, causing severe damage to his scales. I'll never submit to an Imperial dragon, you scale-deprived hornless worm! she retorted angrily.

When the fireball struck thorns side, he growled and bit down harder. He released a jet of flame onto her neck, but didnt relent like she had with him. He was attempimg to cook her throat.

Murtagh could only gasp as both of his shins broke and he fell to his knees. At the woma s threat he grimaced, part in pain part because he knew he had been beaten. He called out for thorn to release Jia, but he didnt listen. "hes not listening to me. He says joa has insulted him for the last time." at these words, and the sight of thorn breathing fire on her neck, ka ran over to thorn and put his blade to the soft spot just behind the dragons jaw. The fire appuptly stopped and thorn released jia.

Vermona smiled, her fangs retracting visibly,"Your bonded to a smart dragon, Shur'tugal. Jia has every right to insult him, just as he has every right to insult her. A fair rule, don't you think? Now, if you would be so kind as to perform the spell to erase your memory...And don't try to double-cross us again, or I will break every bone in your body before you finish the first syllable." she said, her words sugary sweet.

Jia slowly got up, the side of her neck badly burned. Luckily it was on the opposite side that the skeleton dragon had bitten her, so it didn't hurt quite so badly. She snorted scornfully, scowling angrily at Thorn.

Despite her vampiric hearing, she hadn't been able to discern exactly what the red Rider said. Vermona hesitated, then glanced at the golden dragoness,"Jia, could you please Read them to make sure their emotions are genuine?" she asked.

Jia nodded and lit her eyes, sweeping her gaze first over Murtagh, then Thorn. It seems like it...Let me look deeper. This may take a while. she said, then concentrated her Sight on the red male. It would probably feel like the core of his body had been slipped into ice water, because she was Reading so deep.
