ps3 network issues O.o
uhm...I figured this is the best place to put this topic. Does anyone know how to make a wired connection with routers for the ps3 without making the router go crazy and not let me use the internet on my comp? idk why it happens, but when I connect the ps3 to the router and then disconnect it and connect the laptop, it won't me use internet on the laptop...and I've been dying to play call of duty on the internet. If you're asking how I'm on the internet, it's cause my mom called the comcast people and said that if I wanted to keep connecting and disconnecting, I'd have to take the thing out of the wall and wait 10 minutes which is obviously impossible. I know that call of duty mentioned something about direct port or something like that, but idk how to do that so.... If you know anything, please help me O.o

Re: ps3 network issues O.o
well my connection is WI-FI so no worries for me!
but lets see....
you made the connection with a LAN port wire on the ps3 to the laptop and NOT the desktop right?
and how did you get the connection on your desktop? wireless or with wire?
and it also depends on the service provider
not all service providers allow the playstation netwrok on it...

Re: ps3 network issues O.o
here's how it is:
I have no desktop, just a laptop. I use LAN lines cables for my laptop to connect to the internet which is connected to what seems to be a router which is connected to the wall by a large white cable. What happened last time was that when I got the LAN cable and connected it into the ps3, when I took the cable out and connected it back into the laptop, the internet explorer didn't show the home webpage and instead showed a "cannot display page" page. I diagnosed the problem and it said something about the network card being configured to fit something else, and when trying to reconfigure the network card, the operation would always time out. We had to contact Comcast through the phone and they helped us by disconnecting us from the network for about 10 minutes and it was fixed. However, I want to be able to play on the ps3 network and switch to the comp without having to take out the cable from the wall. Idk if the problem persistes though because we got a new router thingy.... I' not sure if it's a router or an adapter or something though....

Re: ps3 network issues O.o
well you'll HAVE to take out the wire because you need ethernet and without ethernet you wont get your LAN
and since the ps3 system goes by LAN and LAnN and no MAN or WAN youcannot directly connect so you have to disconnect and then re-connect the wire to the ps3 lol...
well the eaiest thing to do is to upgrade your connection and make it wireless...
and before doing anythin, PLEASE check what the PLAYSTATION has to say before changing any wiring or re-configuring.....
go to systems and check on connections
if you still have the problem then PM me lol.....i'll check on it via my ps3
ahh i love helping people lol
