It's not the end it's just a new beginning
"How did you find me?", I cried, gripping my sword tighter. Blood dripped from my split lip, the gash in my leg, and the wound in my shoulder.
Toxia circled me, leathery wings spread, fangs stained red. "You leave a trail, Dragon Rider", she hissed. The cold stone floor of the Serpent Palace was trembling. Outside the Storm Dragons were warring with the armies.
"Sloane! Sloane, I'm here!" Steven came running into the room, Damien and Ophelia at his heels. "Galadria!" Black sparks shot from his palm, turning the room black with fog.
Ophelia broke through the fog, staff in hand. Her short violet hair was shinning, as were her eyes. "Truce?", she asked. I nodded.
"Truce." Toxia beat her wings, trying to clear the fog. Steven held his hand up, sweat beading his brow. The magic was taking it's toll on his body.
"Hurry! I can't hold it much longer!", he yelled in agony. Damien stepped up and added his power to his brother's.
"Alareth!"
"Coladrethium!" Light blasted through the Throne room, illuminating the stain-glass windows.
"Nooooo!", Toxia shrieked. She raised her arms to shield her eyes. As she fell to the floor, dying, she lashed out and ripped open the side of Steven's head.
He screamed and landed on his back at Damien's feet. "Damn ****!", I screamed. I held my sword up high and brought it down on Toxia's decaying form. "This is for my husband! This is form my parents! This is for the Dragons! This is because you were born!", I cried loudly with all my might. Her eyes flashed red and she smiled, then she vanished.
Steven was breathing heavily, clutching his head. "I'm...sorry", he gasped, as I knelt at his side. "I failed."
"No. You have suceeded. We all have", I whispered, looking up at Ophelia and Damien.
"The end is here."
"Do not say that, brother", Damien said, outraged.
"You shalln't die, Steven", Ophelia added. "You will be healed."
"This isn't the end it's just a new beginning", I told him. The doors blasted open and the Thunder Dragon, Taku, stepped into the castle.
"It is over", rasped the old Dragon. "We have won with pride and valour." He dipped his sapphire head. "Milady, we have saved the kingdom. Again, we shall rule."
"Perhaps. But it has come at a cost." I nodded at Steven.
Taku sighed and nodded-as much as a Dragon can- "Indeed it has. Much has changed in the ways of magic." Carefully, he picked up Steven's limp body in his teeth and walked from the castle. I followed with Damien. Ophelia stood and gazed at the Throne.
"I almost took it", she whispered. "I almost lost more than my dear Dragon. I miss you Lethalin..." With that she followed the others from the Fortress.

The sword wizzed past Nim's head, missing him by inches. "Do you doubt my control?", asked Lux listlessly.
