Thorn's size in this book
Is Thorn's size in this book be comparable to Glaedr's in the previous book? Keep in mind that Thorn has a hugelly accelerated body growth and young dragons grow faster than old ones. In book 2, Saphira stated that Glaedr was 3 times bigger than her, but she grows during that book, book 3 and book 4, and Thorn is hinted to be twice her size! Opinion on this?

Re: Thorn's size in this book
Glaedr is still much bigger than Thorn. He overtook Thorn easily enough when they fought in the third book and Galby wasn't preparing them to fight with a preexisting dragon and rider so that would also attest to his size.

But that was in book 3. By looking at Katrina's pregnancy there is a time lapse between book 3 and 4 of about 8 months. And 8 months for Thorn, that's twice the age he had in book 3.

Re: Thorn's size in this book
Twice the age doesn't mean twice the size. As I said before. Since Thorn was being prepared to fight Saphira, who was nowhere near the size of Glaedr, Galby wouldn't have to make Thorn that big. He certainly wouldn't want his size to anywhere come close to Shruikan so there is that to keep into consideration too. Plus, making him that big so fast already showed consequences for Thorn as we have seen and doing too much would make him worse rather than better.

Re: Thorn's size in this book
I haven't seen any consequences to Thorn. And I don't think that Galbatorix did really care about Thorn's wellbeing. And he could grow Thorn to Snruikan's size that even then it would not be a threat to him.

Re: Thorn's size in this book
The consequences to Thorn were more internal that affected him externally. There was a scene in the books where they were all linked. Murtagh and Eragon were talking and Thorn and Saphira's minds brushed each other. It describes somewhat how Thorn felt about the drastic changes that were going onto him and that could and probably did affect how he was able to fight and fly and many other things.
Galby would never make Thorn anywhere near the size of Shruikan because that actually is a threat. If he were anywhere near the same size then he would a threat. It may be a small threat to him but a threat all the same.
