Yes, I do it all the time. Personally, I think too much sleep is a waste of time. There's so many thinks I could be doing!

OH YEAH!!!!
I've pulled all-nighters with all the Harry Potter books.
Re: Have you ever stayed up all night to read a book?
Lol, I probably couldn't do that for a book. My focus would be totally ruined, so I wouldn't be able to concentrate. Maybe if I had adequate caffeine ... haha.

I DID! I was reading Twilight because I had to give it back the next day, next thing I know I'm on the last page my face just hanging off the book and I'm drooling on to the floor just in front of my dog's nose(Yea, like you needed to know that! lol) and there have been books in the past that have done the same, though I'm looking for another like that right now... no such luck...

LOL!! If it's a good book and grasps my attention...I go for the all nighter.
I speed read to know what happens, then I read it again slower this time, looking for a bit more of details. The 3rd time I read just to enjoy. If I really like it, then I keep it close so I can read it again when I'm in the mood.

Finally someone with the same reading style ,
As for the all nighters... Happens with every third or fourth book I read...
Worst ever was the seventh Harry Potter... Finished it at about 8 am, and while that by itself isn't bad, the fact that I forgot that I had to get up at 9:30 made that one really bad day... But I still finished the book... And started the re-read the same day...

LOL!!! Thank goodness the times a new book has been released (from the HP and IC series), it's been on a Friday at midnight, so I usually have the next day off from work. But when I used to work at the bookstore, I would request Saturday AND Sunday off with like three months in advance. One to pull the all-nighter reading and the next one to recuperate the lost sleep! A good book is the only think that keeps me from a voluntary sleepless night! NOTHING else!
BTW, Do you peek at the final chapter? I do! (he-he)

LOL, yeh... I guess it would be easier on the heart to just read the end... But I think I’d feel like I'm cheating myself out of reading it... Don't know why but...
It's all in getting involved with the characters... any books exiting if you manage that.

Ever had a hairdresser decide to ignore what you tell her to do? No please, I'm always open to try new stuff, especially if it involves books. I've yet to find a book that I don't like so I’d love any suggestions.

No, I don't think it's age appropriate. It is pretty macabre and graphic. I got it off the Oprah's Book Club, months and months ago. A really good one...

Re: Have you ever stayed up all night to read a book?
I understand that it may seem strange to recommend a book of that nature to someone my age I can assure you that I have probably read much worse. Due to the fact that I generally read my siblings or parents books I am quite used to older themes, and wide variety of genres. I'm sure that I would be fine with anything in the book. Unless it’s beyond something that say Chuck Palahniuk would be willing to include in a novel I should be alright with it. If you’re still uncomfortable with sharing it I understand, but I'd like you to know that I am familiar with older genres, and that my parents approve of my reading of them.

lol I just noticed this topic, and it amuses me. As for the graphic thing, lol, I started reading adult books (with adult content) when I was 11-ish. I wouldn't really be shocked by anything if I read a graphic book. hee hee
On the topic, though, I've stayed up all night to finish a book more times than I can remember. I loooooooove books. I can't stand skipping to the end, though. I love suspense.
And I'm watching out for your charries, ILS. *****Faefnir***Navarre***Rimfax*****

Re: Have you ever stayed up all night to read a book?
Ya but it also takes the fun out of predicting the end of the books and such. If you don't read the end of the books, I find it forces you to think more about what the characters are thinking, and leads me to get more involved with them. But that could just be me...
@dracoaestas 11, Why so late? The problem is that most of the really good books have graphic scenes in them... How could you expect someone to hold back from reading them just because of someone else’s view of what appropriate for your age group? I think you probably know what you enjoy reading best... And as books don't have an official rating scheme they can't stop you from buying them.

Um, I must admit, I practically do it every night. Well, I haven't recently, but I mostly do it during school nights. My last late-nighter was when I stayed up reading Breaking Dawn. I just couldn't put it down. I've also stayed up till five reading HP and the Deathly Hallows, two days after it came out. lol.

I do so rather constantly, usually during my graveyard shifts at work. or when I am just at home and find that I cannot sleep, I'll sit and read for hours and hours on end (infact its how I finished Eragon and Eldest)

The only problem with staying up so late is that I'm really tired in the morning since school started. During the break I would go to bed at about 1 in the morning and wake up at noon.
