OOC: Do you think maybe Phalynx could join after having been captured by Nilarek, or something, Aeraldi? It could make it interesting with Faefnir and everything. Just wondering... it's only an idea...

OOC: Maybe in a different topic, for this one he has no idea of who anyone possibly is. But feel free to join and let me capture her in a later post.

"Great son?" Nilarek inquired with a sneer. "Emmissary of light? Pah! I will not back down from the likes of you! I will not take orders from any being!" Nilarek was furious that this dragon had the slightest notion that he would simply back down after so much effort. "Try to stop me and I will tear you limb from limb, if you don't think I have the power to do so then you best attack me now and stop wasting my time." Nilarek felt the power running through his veins, ready to burst forth at a moment's will.

Keralin walked into the town, covering his ears with a cloak. He felt the evil that was once embedded within him, it was too close for comfort and put Keralin on edge. He almost cast a spell of destruction when a shadow fell over the city, but after realising it was Faefnir he let the magic slip through his fingers. Last thing he wanted was to hurt one of his friends, although it did help him find what he was looking for as Faefnir landed in front of Nilarek. Keralin saw for the first time who his enemy was. He expected it to look like him, but saw only the form of a shade. "We caused so much pain and anguish, slaughtered millions. Tell me, are you anything except evil?"

Nilarek knew that voice, the one that had been haunting his dreams and his nightmares. He turned to face the one person who could make him whole once more. "Keralin, at last I have found you!"

OOC: That's true, lol. I think I'll have Phalynx sort of hang around the edges for now, then. By the way, I'm saying that she's old enough to breathe fire now.

IC: Phalynx was picking up something strange. It was an odd feeling, but one that she recognized. It was a feeling that something very evil was approaching, something capable of great and destructive power. I must investigate. Who knows what kind of power an evil thing like this has. I should make sure that it isn't harming anyone. Phal thought anxiously, flying forwards.

Phal switched to infrared vision, though it didn't help much, she saw to many other heat signatures. She got an idea, and changed her sight so that she could see any magic in the area. She suddenly reeled back as a swirling black column of it came into view. It was just hanging around its owner. This was magic that was invisible to most, except for Phal with her strange powers.

Phal also noticed a dragon rider that she was familiar with, Keralin. And of course, she could not ignore the presense of her half-brother Faefnir. He's always there when there is need of help. I'm glad to be related to such a noble dragon. Phal thought, smiling at the golden dragon's presense.

She flew warily around the edges, still not wanting to get involved yet.

OOC: lol, tis longer than I expected.

OOC: I sent Aelir away, if you read my first post. And introduction posts have to be at least a paragraph long.

Nilarek laughed loudly, in a menacing way. "Oh please. You wouldn't even be able to touch me, let alone grab hold of my limbs." Nilarek reinforced his point by expressing a small portion of his power. He simply took hold of the shadow of Faefnir and made it move under his own control. He made it move underneath himself then absorbed the shadow into his own body, leaving Faefnir without a shadow.
"It's truly amazing how much a shadow can tell you about a being, isn't it Faefnir. Nilarek said using Faefnir's name for the first time, even though he hadn't heard it from any mortal mouth. "I can see you now, for what you truly are, son of the first. Oh..." Nilarek seemed to look surprised, then his look turned into a smile. "Oh this is interesting, you have been touched by... No, I won't tell you. All you have to know is the power you gain, it rivals my own, yet you hide behind your little excuse of being 'good'." Nilarek released the shadow of Faefnir, which returned to it's rightful place.

Keralin knew what just happened as he had used it mant times before to discern the truth. "Faefnir, he knows your memories now. At least as you remember them." Keralin warned.

"That I do! And for starters, I will show you what your own power can accomplish!" Nilarek gathered his dark powers making a area of shadows around himself. "But to make you show yourself I have to have some leverage, mainly your own sister!" A shadowy hand extended up towards Phalynx and grabbed her, then dragged her down to the ground into the shadowy area he had created. The shadows were expanding exponentially and now encomapssed most of the city.

OOC: Sorry for the GM, if you have a problem tell me so I can edit.

OOC: It's just fine. Made the RP substantially interesting

Faefnir grunted in pain as Nilarek yanked away his shadow and absorbed it. Then he named the vast list of memories Faefnir kept. Stay out of there! Those are private! But Faefnir knew he couldn't do anything, the pain was unbearable. When Nilarek returned his shadow, Faefnir felt whole again. Then he started gloating. As Faefnir gained his strength, he saw a huge hand of shadow go up into the air and grab a small circling dragon up above. Phalynx! It was at this point that Faefnir started losing control. Let her go! Don't touch her! Faefnir wanted desperately to launch himself at the Shade, but he also feared harming Phalynx. Leave her out of this, spawn of shadow!

OOC: Ah, yes, 'tis exactly what I wanted... [evil laughter] jk

IC: Phal suddenly saw a huge shadowy tendril shoot towards her, but it had her before she could escape. Aaaaahh! Let me go, fiend!! she roared in outrage. Phal let loose a blast of fire in anger, but of course it did nothing. She continued roaring as the shadowy arms formed a cage around her, frustrated that she had been captured so easily. She saw Faefnir shouting and roaring his anger as well, and became worried. She didn't want her half-brother harmed. Faefnir, don't do anything foolish because of me. Just stay rational, okay? Don't let him provoke you! Phal tried to speak privately only to Faefnir, but she wasn't sure if the shade could hear what she was saying. Phal watched for the evil shade's next actions.

OCC. - Mind if i join in? Im just gunna put up a little caption introducing Fankor and Laverra to the story atm... if you rather me not join up this late just let me know

- Fankor and Laverra were out for their nightly flight. In Fankor's opinion, it was the best time to do so. The night was such a quiet, peaceful time to fly, yet, what other time did he have. Since he was the man of the farm he had to make sure everything got done. Now that his brothers were getting a bit older, they could help out a little bit more which lightened Fankor's job a bit. They total proved themselves of taking care of the farm on their own about three years ago, when the huge battle against the draconians was going on.
Now it was late. Not many people were out at this hour, except for the guards who were on their nightly watch. When Fankor and Laverra came around the bend into Dauth, they saw an old friend. "Hey Faefnir, Remember us? Long time no s....see," Fankor shouted, but Faefnir flew right past Laverra and himself with out paying any attention to them. " Hmm... Theres something weird going on around here... Why didn't Faefnir notice us?" "Does THAT answer your question?" Laverra answered while pointing at a dark huge dragon who was now facing them. Laverra took off with Fankor who was still wide mouthed staring at the dragon. " Great!, Just great!... Well Faefnir Where ever you are, what ever your doing, I hope were a good enough diversion for ya!" Fankor shouted. " Laverra, head for the forest, We can try to lose him there." Laverra took off trying to keep a safe distance for the huge black dragon-

OOC: Aeraldi, I do plan on making a second chary, Faefnir's dark side. They are going to be seperate people now, so if you wanna tear Faefnir's dark side away or something in your next post, that'll make a great opening for that new character.

OOC: Not what I had in mind, but I can work with that. Seems like everyone wants to make a character similar to mine. I must have made him that awesome!

"I'll do what I can, but nothing will work until he is properly distracted." Keralin yelled at Fankor and Laverra. He knew he had to help but he also knew that he would be next to useless in this situation.

I'll have to try it now, if I wait longer I might never get this close again. Nilarek gathered his powers once again, he hoped he could bring out Faefnir's evil side and gain control of him that way. He started to cast the spell, drawing unstable energy from all around him. It lanced off in different directions unexpectedly, exploding what they touched. One of which happened to explode near Phalynx and sent her down towards him. Nilarek was still casting the spell ready to release it when Phalynx rolled down and bumped Nilarek, interrupting his spell. Nilarek released the spell prematurely, having unknown results. Nilarek caged Phalynx again in his dark powers and brought her up to him.
"I was so close to my goal! Did you think you could stop me like that?! I'll make sure you never see the light of day again!" Nilarek forced his darkness into Phalynx's eyes, knowing that the young were easily persuaded by promises of power, he promised her that he could give more power than she could imagine if she gave in. That all the pleasures of the world could be hers if she just followed him.

"Fankor, Laverra, attack him now!" Keralin charged from his spot and charged at Nilarek, drawing his swords.

Faefnir knew he was in trouble when the spell was cast prematurely. His whole body started to ooze black stuff from all the pores of his body. He felt his mind be painfully torn away from something that had been there for a long time. As Faefnir grimaced, he saw Phalynx be captured by Nilarek, and Fankor and Keralin charge the Shade. But Faefnir couldn't help them, for he saw his shadow start extending; every inch gained was like a million years of pain to the ancient golden dragon. As Faefnir roared with the epitome of his torture, he saw a pitch black body rise out of his shadow and start to take form...

OOC: Technically, Faefnir had always had his evil side. It's only until now, however, that it has physically manifested itself.

OOC: Just showing off a small portion of his power, and the repercussions of what could happen.

Keralin grunted in reply to Phalynx's question, his face showing nothing but pure agony. The healing was taking its toll on him, but at least he would live. As he saw shadows creeping around him he became unsure whether it was a good idea for him to live.

Nilarek felt the flames around him and was about to send them back where they came when an interesting idea came to him. From Keralin's memories he knew that shades couldn't be killed by anything other than a blade to the heart. He didn't know the exact reason behind this but he thought he might be able to use it to his advantage. He pushed his dark magic away and embraced the flames, letting it seep into his flesh and killing him. His last words that he shouted were, "You have sealed your doom mortal." He intensified the flames and made sure he would die. His shadows seeped away from the flames and around Faefnir and towards his goal Keralin. The shadows reformed himself and his body took shape, but before he was complete he made his way towards Keralin. Nilarek grabbed Keralin by the head and stared into his eyes, forcing the shadows into his mind. An explosion of power raced through the air, sending shadows and spirits into a swirl of energy the base of which was the connection between Nilarek and Keralin. They felt the power of ages past return to their bodies, and abilities that should never exist return to reality. They felt what the shade of Faefenir was, and they knew what had happened to their spell. Nilarek's thoughts could be heard even in the northern most reaches of the Empire.
I am almost complete!
The power eminating from their bodies encompassing everything around them able to be felt in the forests of Du Weldenvarden.

Keralin forced his mind to keep hold of itself, yet that line was diminishing. Technically it was his own mind, but the pure evil it gave off could not be forgotten or ignored. I will not become a slave to you, I am complete already! Keralin used his magic, magic that he thought he would never have to use again. Dark magic. Keralin forced a wedge between him and Nilarek and separated himself from his clutches, forcing out his mind at the same time. Old wounds began to open on Keralin's body, the price of such magic, yet Keralin held onto the spell. It trapped Nilarek within the power of his on shadows.

Nilarek struggled against the magic, attempting desperately to break free. He looked up into the sky for any sign of hope and saw Faefnir's shadow almost completely formed. He reached his mind towards it and spoke to it;
Faefnir is hurt, take him out now while you have the chance. Nilarek knew the power of such a beast and knew that not even he could control it. Unless he had his old power, the power that he had returned to for a brief moment.

OOC: *puff puff* my fingers hurt from the speed typing...

OOC: Mind if Eriel cuts in?

IC: Eriel let out a scream as a powerful foreign presence infiltrated Keralin's mind, sending Emrhyst bellowing up the intricate stairs her rider herself sang out of the tree, partially destroying it in the process.
She wrapped herself around Eriel who was on her knees, her head in her hands, tears dripping slowly from the sheer shock and pain of the attack on her mate's mind.
Emrhyst looked at her rider tenderly and licked her face, causing Eriel to look up at her. Then, both rider and dragon let out various sounds of agony as the pain Keralin and Faefnir were feeling flowed through their mental connections, sending birds flying away in shock and elves rushing up into the house. All of them plugged their ears and threw up their mental barriers as three words echoed across their minds.
'I am complete'
It caused Eriel to tremble. It sounded too much and yet too evil to be Keralin's.
Emrhyst looked at her rider. We should ride eh?
Eriel looked back at her dragon, regaining her composure. "I couldn't bear to see either one of them hurt or worse."
Emrhyst let out a growl and brought her rider's equipment over to her, nudging her gently, a light shining in her eyes, one that Eriel recognized immediately. She smiled and donned her hauberk, then her other stuff and took off for Surda, ignoring the various oo's and ah's of the elf children. Their thoughts were bent solely on Keralin and Faefnir, and the pain they were feeling seemed to feed them energy, giving them a boost of speed not many could match.

The black shape rising from Faefnir's shadow was almost in its full form: a monstrous dragon larger than even Faefnir, who was not much of a small dragon himself. Faefnir snarled worse than he ever had before and started drooling; it was only a matter of time before he actually started foaming. As the thing was pulling out of his mind made that last, most painful effort, both Faefnir and the shape roared. At long last, after what seemed an eternity of pain, the shape came to be its own form and color came to its eyes: a frightening blood red.

Faefnir's dark side had felt him being extracted out of his prison within Faefnir's mind. It took a long time for him to be pulled out, but when it was over, he was in the outside world and in full control of himself. I feel... whole. Then Faefnir's dark side chuckled maliciously as he knew that now was the time for his age of darkness to come...

Orphina saw the dragon being attacked and urged Murdoc on, the horse cantered over to the dragon, and Orphina dismounted. She quickly looked the dragon over, assessing if it had any new injuries, then she looked round the area, but she couldn't find where the attack had come from. Orphina wanted badly to help the dragon but not having magic, she had no idea how she could be of any help, other then to stop it getting hurt any more then it already had been.

Orphina knotted the reins and sent Murdoc off, then drew her sword, and stood in front of the dragon, ready to fend off any more attacks.
"Don't you worry Skulblaka. I shall do what I can to protect you. I am Orphina and my horse is Murdoc." She wanted the dragon to know she was on it's side.

OOC: *creates an opening for Star* Short post btw,

IC: Emrhyst just smiled. How about saving your sorry err... She cleared her throat. Rear-end. Emrhyst turned away and pretended to clear her throat again.

Eriel breathed a little better once both of her foes fled. She sighed and rested against a rock, healing her arm as she did so.

In the distance she spotted a black speck, coming closer, faster. Eriel just smiled and waved a hand although she knew Star probably wouldn't be able to see it.

- "We're fine. How can we stop that thing?," Fankor asked ," Wait a second... You can see in a lot of different visions right? Is there any way you can see if he has a weakness?" Fankor and Laverra both watched as even Star and Reb joined the battle....-

Orphina turned her head to look at Phalynxbut kept alert for any danger.
"My name is Orphina, and my horse is Murdoc. Maybe we could be fricaya?"
As she spoke she started to relax and turned fully to face Phalynx, standing normally.

"Have you a shurtugal Phalynx?" Orphina asked conversationally, before giving a short whistle, which brought Murdoc cantering to her side. Murdoc looked at the dragon and pawed the ground with his right hoof, before lifting his head and snorting. Orphina laughed and stroked his neck.
"I think he wants to be your fricai too"

Eriel raised an eyebrow. "Nilarek I suppose?" She whispered into his ear, leaning forward to kiss his neck as she did so.

Emrhyst smiled and licked Aelir back.

Rimfax grunted as the fire struck him. He went sailing away to recover, then curved back around for a second attack.

IC:"Yes. I think he's gone though, I can't sense the darkness anywhere around here." Keralin looked up. "Although that thing there might give us grief." Referring to Rimfax.

OOC: Dracoaestas it would be your turn.

OOC: I know. I was just taking a break after my trip. Other than sleep (which I didn't get hardly any of) we had like one cumulative hour of rest all week. I shall post now, though.

IC: Phalynx felt her strength renewing. She noticed with curiousity the two new arrivals approaching Reb. She walked over as well. She was curious when the woman introduced herself as Zantya, whom Phalynx had heard of, but never met. However, Reb seemed equally surprised, and Phal knew that this was definately a new version of the shade.

Phal suddenly noticed Rimfax try to attack. Faefnir got in the way immediately and suddenly begin to fade away, dragging the dark dragon with him. Faefnir! Phal screeched, but suddenly felt her vision blur. Her magic-vision switched itself on, but turned dark, almost black. As the magic-vision got darker, she saw the world fade away and was soon replaced by a world of shadow. Phal wasn't in the world, but she was seeing into it.

Phal saw Rimfax scramble towards a small part of the world that wasn't quite as dark, with Faefnir chasing him. This is weird. Phal said with some amusement. A lot of interesting things were happening today.

Nilarek was almost away from the crowd when he felt the disturbance in the world of shadows. He inhaled sharply as he felt the distict presence of Faefnir, like a dagger through his mind, within the world which held his power. At first he started fearing that Faefnir would destroy his power but then he thought, in that world he doesn't have as much access to his power as he would here. Nilarek started to grin wildly, Watch out Faefnir, here I come. he thought menacingly to himself as he transported himself to his world of origin.

"What just happened?" Keralin said with amazement, until he remembered. "No. No! Faefnir!" Keralin wanted to help but he knew that if he traversed that road again, he would not be able to turn back. "All we can do is wait."

Nilarek felt the power of old rush through his system, all of it under his control. I had forgotten. He thought. This poor shell is incapable of providing a decent gateway between worlds. Still, he was the best one available. Nilarek laughed at the fate of Cain. He took in his breath and yelled out across the shadowy plane "Oh Great Faefnir, where do you reside? I cannot wait to show you the horrors of what creatures call this place 'home'!" Nilarek was nearly drooling with anticipation, the evil flowing from his body seemed to frighten the shadows around him.

OOC - im not sure what to really write here....

- Fankor and Laverra both watched just trying to figure out what was really going on-

Eriel looked at Phalanx and smiled then turned to Keralin. "I'll help open the gate and probably close the one Rimfax is headed to to lure him here. We could capture him if we have enough time... I will not go in though, I fear my darkness would overwhelm me in that place." Eriel told her mate softly, already steadying herself for the massive drain which would come from the spell and holding Alcioraell back.

OOC: Nay, it's my turn. Draco goes after me.

Faefnir quickly had Rimfax cornered. Unlike Faefnir, Rimfax had no knowledge of the geography of the Shadow World, and therefore could not find the exit. As the golden form, gleaming like a lighthouse, lurked toward the shadow dragon, Faefnir kept a close eye on his back side, making sure that Nilarek was not following him. Then, he roared a challenge at the black dragon. No escape, my young friend. Now fight me!

Rimfax knew he was in trouble when Faefnir roared at him. Seeing as how he had no choice, Rimfax returned the roar, and the two dragons of equal size, strength, and intelligence battled each other in the swirling, perpetual darkness of the Shadow World.

OOC: Yay! Now it is my turn! Sorry for keeping you all waiting. Like I've said in a few other rps, I've been very busy over the past couple of weeks, and it still might be a week or two before I can get on regularly again.

IC: Phalynx focused her attention on Keralin as he spoke, and then on the others. That is a good idea. Faefnir is strong, but he may need some help. I will go in after him. I can trust my eyes better than most; I'll be able to tell who I'm approaching, she said with a smile, referring of course to her powers. I'll do whatever it takes to help my brother, she frowned, her attention drawn momentarily back to the shadow world, I can see into that world now, and Faefnir is now fighting Rimfax. Nilarek is close by.

Phal shifted her focus back to the others, wanting to help in any way possible.

OOC: When you see this, Star, it's your turn.
