Umm... there are no more wild dragons in Alagaesia considering from what we know about wild dragons they wouldn't just hide, remember they are even more ferocious than the rider's dragons and someone would have seen or sensed a 100 year-old dragon by now.

yes but what about Galby losing half his army in the spine could there be dragons eragon was not a rider at the time and has not gone to the spine since saphira and oromis and gleadr died in gilead and were in ellesmera so there actually could be just maybe like a 3% chance.

Dragons can't use magic so there attack wouldn't have been over instantly so one of the magicians in the army would have sent a message to Galby telling him there were dragons.

yes but if there was say 500 people and the spine could hide about 20 dragons maybe they all attacked at once and defeated the army in like 30min and everyone was fighting so they couldn't send a message.
