Powerful Meeting

She hesitated for a moment, for she could see a pattern forming. Time for something different, she thought, flapping her wings decisively once more. She pulled herself up and angled herself so she was flying over Nidhog. She kept herself in that position, and planned to keep herself there even if he tried to get out from under her or attack her. She had a few ideas in mind. All the while, she could sense the darkness building. Nilarek's summonings were working, and soon there would be even more foes to deal with. It's lucky I knew of their approach. This seems like an assassination mission, Phal thought. The large force all headed to the home of a prominant dragon? Gender: Guy Affiliation: Dragonriders	Re: Powerful Meeting OOC: because he already was Arkel threw a blast of his fire at the tan dragon than shot ball of Ice Fire right afterward, the regular fire hiding it till it hit. He then used his magic and pulled a storm in to existence. It began flashing lighting about widely and a thick heavy rain began to fall. Gender: Guy Affiliation: Werecats	Re: Powerful Meeting Nidhog's sight was coming back to him. Instead of being completely gone, it was now very blurry, but still, it was better than nothing. He still was relying on his sense of hearing, but to his apparent anger, he could no longer hear the silvery dragoness. Instead, he heard the fighting of the dragon, Arkel, and the tan dragon, or so he assumed since his sight was not yet back. He bided his time, then swooped. His powerful claws sunk into the back of the older dragon and he threw the other to the ground. Eschelon was unable to dodge the ball of ice, and the fire, so he tensed his muscles and allowed it to hit. It was painful, but it would take a lot more to kill him. He roared angrily again when the larger red dragon summoned a storm the lost control. He said, Have you no sense whatsoever?! How stupid, to summon a storm, then lose control of it. roared the angry old dragon, as he was attacked from behind by the black dragon. He whimpered in pain as some of his ribs were broken from the impact. Then, he slowly got up. A couple caught fire, thrashing around to put themselves out. One dropped to the ground dead and another one looked as if it felt nothing but, despite their efforts, the creatures still moved towards the beacon. They seemed intent on moving, on getting to their to master. To Nilarek. It seems the battle won't be fought here. Aelir said. We should keep going, and take the fight to Nilarek. "He has to be planning something big, summoning all these creatures to him." He's never called for help before, he has to be weakening. Keralin wondered the wisdom of Aelir's words and he had to admit he was right. Nilarek had to be weakening to call for help. "Alright, let's go." And Aelir flew. Nilarek could see the flying creatures now. They were always first. But he could feel another presence coming too now, one that was burned in his skull for all time. One that would remain until time eternal ended. "Keralin..." He said to himself. A battle would take place here, and he might be able to win if those shadow creatures distracted his dragon long enough. She decided to prevent Arkel from attacking the old tan simultaneously, so she swooped down to the back of his head and gave it a quick slash. She began flying wildly around him, avoiding his attacks and diving in quickly to distract him. She didn't do much damage, but it was plenty to distract him. The winds of the storm that he had summoned were trying to toss her around, but Phal was a powerful flyer; used to high and unpredictable winds. She glanced away from Arkel for a moment and saw that another ally was headed towards them. Aelir! Keralin! she cried, giving them a brief mental image of her grin. Gender: Guy Affiliation: Werecats	Re: Powerful Meeting Nidhog continued his attack, until, the larger tan dragon grabbed him by the neck and hurled him through the air and into a large sand dune, even through it. Nidhog roared helplessly, this had been the first time eh had encountered a dragon with equal or more strength of his own, this was no hatchling, this was a truly ancient specimine of his kind. Eschelon continued to bash about the largfe, but still smaller black dragon, until he thought of the spell needed. He casted it and instantly, there was a blindingly bright light. It bathed the entire area in a eeiry white light. And, then they were visible, it was a dragon, but it was see through, and odd, like the essence of a dragon. It roared and its flame, was black, black as night. The spirit dragon began to attack the shade, its black flame, seeking, always seeking. Aelir said as the full battle came into view. Keralin swivelled his head around to see where Aelir was looking and sure enough, Nilarek stood waiting. I'm not ready for this fight, not yet. Keralin said as they approached the cliff edge. Maybe I can slow him down for the rest though. He thought as Aelir banked sharply to slow his flight and let Keralin off his back. As usual, Aelir stressed about leaving Keralin to fight Nilarek, but he knew he had to make sure that nothing interrupted their battle once it had begun. "It's not like you to make allies." Keralin said, drawing his swords and making sure all his wards were up. "And it's not like you to come on my terms." Nilarek smiled, drawing his own sword. "Never-the-less, I will take your body." And with that, Nilarek charged. As soon as the two engaged in fight, more Shadow creatures came, called by their master. Aelir knew that some of the creatures would be determined to help Nilarek in his fight, and that was what Aelir was supposed to be looking out for. An infected Bear, large enough not to be mistaken that it came from the Beor's, climbed the cliff edge. Aelir made sure it wouldn't find it's way to the top by using his fire to burn the fur off the Bear. Keralin had begun to attack Nilarek. Aelir, I thought of something. Maybe it would be better for us to switch places; you can do more damage to Arkel, and I more to the shadow creatures, she said quickly. Aelir was bigger, more experienced in battle. He would do better against the large opponent. And she had many effective weapons against the shadow beasts, and a great deal of experience fighting them. IC: Eschelon watched as the spirit dragon left the shade and went for the tainted creatures, its claws rippinng and tearing, but with each blow, Eschelon became weaker. He finally realized that the spirit was his own, and that though it itself was untouchable, he was and each injury inflicted on him was inflicted on the spirit dragon, and the longer the spirit was attacking, the weaker Eschelon became. He began to try to stop the spell, but he was unable. He felt the black dragon coming toward him and could do nothing. Suddenly, Eschelon collpased upon the sand, the spell drawing every ounce of strength from his body. Nidhog stared in awe at the spirit dragon. Never before had he encountered such a powerful creature. But, then he saw the toll inflicted upon the tan dragon and knew that this was his chance. He began to laugh evily, his deep voice echoing over the vast emptiness of the Hadarac and said, Well done, Ancient one, but your time is over. Aelir looked at Phalynx, considering her words, then accepted grudgingly. Alright, take care of him! Aelir pushed himself from the wall and headed towards Arkel. Let's see how you do against me fiend of the shadow! Keralin and Nilarek exchanged blows, Keralin using both sword simply to stay on an equal footing with Nilarek. He was glad he didn't learn that before his time with the Shadow, for it has saved his life from them so many times. Nilarek flowed from stance to stance, bending in ways that a body shouldn't be able to. He thought about using the power of the Shadows to help him, but thought against it. If Keralin was pressured into using Dark magic, then his soul could be used up before Nilarek had a chance to corrupt it again. _________________ For though I move on, I will always remember you I-L-S. I think I'll let Navarre help out in a post or two. She's very infrequently seen. IC: Phalynx smiled gratefully at Aelir, glad he agreed. She knew she'd do much better against the summoned creatures. Even as she flew to take her friend's place, a new horde of small creatures, their original forms distorted beyond recognition by shadow, came over a nearby ridge. Phalynx flapped her wings several times to gain a few dragonlengths of height, and then swooped down low over them, letting out a widely dispersed blast of starfire. The light-magic flames burned away the flesh and the darkness from the creatures, effectively killing them. He called upon the one black being who could offer help to them. Arkel backed from the fight and grabbed a hold of that black part of his mind and spoke to inflowing influence. Within seconds, ice began spread out from beneath him, as black clouds starting forming above him. The ice spread quickly out changing the hot desert to frozen wasteland. The clouds stated dumping large balls of hail, except for where Arkel and his acquaintances were, as a dense fog began move in. Arkel began moving toward the Fortress, under the cover of the weather. Gender: Guy Affiliation: Werecats	Re: Powerful Meeting Eschelon was powerless to do anything, but as if it were planned, the spirit turned and hurled itself at the black dragon, its claws rending, tearing, but Eschelon still weakened. He finally cut the flow of magic, but having done so, he found himseld much too weakto fight effectively. He then noticed the hail, as well as the fog. He looked about and found himself covered in a blanket of falling ice and mist. He said mentally to Phalynx, Aelir, and Keralin, Who is doing this, and where is our help? I thought there was almost always someone here, we can't win this all on our own, especially now. said the dragon as he began to weakly move toward the fortress to get further from the evil black dragon. Nidhog, on the other hand was perfectly at home. He was used to not being able to see his opponents, years of live without the help of the sun had taught him much. He now tracked the tan dragon by the sound of its massive claws in the sand, as well as the smell of the dragon. Aelir screamed at Arkel as he cast his spell. He didn't have time to converge on the dragon as the ice begun falling from the sky. It'll take more than that! Aelir wanted to charge that dragon, but he spent more time dodging the ice than moving forwards. Keralin dodged, came up to strike, parried, took a step back, then a step forward. One movement after the next, counter to the next blow, counter to Nilarek's counter of his counter, feet in the fight place at the right time, arms one with his swords, a flurry of flashing metal. Nilarek wished he had time to gain some more strength to overpower Keralin, especially since his last battle. There was nothing to do about it but to wear Keralin down until there was nothing he could do but surrender. _________________ For though I move on, I will always remember you I-L-S. IC: Phal kept up a stream of fairly constant silver flames, eyeing the approaching shadow beasts warily. The big ones would be here shortly, and she was definitely sure that there were some flying creatures headed towards them. So far, she was able to hold them at bay while her friends fought their other enemies. The first large creature broke through, only a little burned by Phal's flame. She darted overhead, pouring down a relentless stream to scorch away at its hide. She killed it relatively quickly, but rushed to resume her original post. Eventually there would be too many for her to hold off. As she was flying, Phal caught sight of something sparkling in the distance. It had a dark purple glint, and a familiar magic signature flowed around it. Navarre?! Phal wondered, recognizing her niece. Navarre beat her wings quickly, anxious to see what was going on at her father's home. She could sense the evil magic on the air, and the sounds of battle were reaching her. The young purple often stayed at Faefnir's Stronghold and with him, but she hardly expected it to be under attack as she arrived. As she drew nearer, she recognized several members of her family and friends, and a few unfamiliar faces. There was a huge tan and a huge red dragon, as well as a slightly smaller black one, none of which she knew. Arkel took the chance and turned back to his human form. It would take him longer to reach the Fortress, but a small human target would be much harder to find in the blackness of the fog than a dragon as large as he was. The ice was very slick and Arkel slide more toward the Fortress then ran. Large sharp stalagmites also began rising out of the ice quickly and Arkel couldn't not hit them. The dragoness had purple scales(?) and golden spikes(?). He said, Young one, leave this place, else you will be attacked by these evil dragons! said the dragon as he continued to move away in the unreliable light of the deep fog. Nidhog continued to follow the tan dragon. Aelir tried his best to keep an eye on him, but the falling ice kept him distracted and soon he had lost all trace of him. Show yourself coward! Aelir roared, frustrated that the one enemy he had been given he had lost. He scanned the ground as best he could, trying his hardest to find his prey before he became it. Where was he heading? He thought to himself, trying to remember what their goal was. Keralin and Nilarek continued to fight, their swords strikes sounding like thunder in the ice storm, their feet jumping around the blocks of ice that fell from the sky using them for both offense and defense. _________________ For though I move on, I will always remember you I-L-S. Too bad Faefnir's not here. He could probably enable us to finish this fight in half the time it normally would take, Phal said jokingly to her niece. Navarre smiled in reply. Well, hopefully we'll still have adequate power to take care of this in his absence. Who are the red, tan, and black dragons? the purple replied. The red and black are Arkel and Nidhog, both evil. The tan is Eschelon; he's on our side. Feel free to join whatever part of the fight you wish, the silver answered, again with a small laugh. OOC: Just a note to everyone: I'm changing Navarre's color. (I found a thread where ILS used her and he used a different shade of purple, so I'm changing to that). Navarre nodded in thanks to her aunt. She blinked as she heard the ancient tan, Eschelon, contact her. She turned quickly to him, gold-speckled purple scales flashing. I'm afraid I really can't leave, Eschelon. This is my father's home, after all, she called to him with a smile. It is nice to meet you by the way. And hello, Aelir! she shouted to the blue dragon, who was intently pursuing something. Keralin seemed to busy to distract at the moment.
