I saw a review in amzon.com that goes like this:
Wow, I bought this book about a year ago and I was amazed. The author, Christopher Paolini is my age and I would never be able to write such a magnificent book. It took me two days to read it the first time and i have just finished it again in even less. My friend is a huge Harry Potter fan, when I recommended she should read this she sneered and then after much persuassion she gave in. I saw her four days later and she said she loved it, when I asked was it as good as the Harry Potter books she said, "Even better!!" So you know it's going to be a good read. Everyone will fall in love with Saphira, as soon as i read about her hatching I wanted a baby dragon of my own, it was so well written that you could see what was happening as you were reading, i know that's what supposed to happen but you know what i mean. I hope the second book in the trilogy will be just as good if not better than the first.

I read all the hp books and then read the eragon books. I think the inheritance cycle is definitely better. As for if they could fare with the hp series. I think that if they got some more publicity they could be bigger.

that's true and i agree with that.

I am huge fan of HP but. after reading this first book "Eragon" I am changed over I love this book. So much! I just finished the 1st chapter on the 2nd book "Eldest"! Already got me into the book!

HP used to be crey very popular but even the best of it's scenes can't match those of Eragon, Eldst and Brisingr
Having read all of HP, I can say that

well i must say i think harry potter is better than eragon i mean that was like my first love (now twilight saga is) i just like the hp characters are better i kind of like the plot better also but i do love the fact that there are dragons in this series (eragon), also the magic i like anything with dragons or magic (dragons mainly)

I agree with Silv on this one. I like the Inheritance Cycle, and I will continue to read it until it ends in the 4th book, but I will not say that it is better than HP. though i have never read HP, some people i used to know never stopped talking about it, and I read part of one of the books. The whole fact that Eragon and Eldest was predictable was a big downturn. Brisingr was a bit better, but for Eragon and Eldest, it's like someone else was writing them, and then CP decided to write Brisingr.....

you can compare anything if you have the right mind to do it

harry potter is so boring and predictable

personally i think both books are okay....i read them just because i read, but they're nothing exceptional
