OOC: lol yes the title is a pun. You shall see why. This is pretty much a comedy-rp, so anyone looking for a fun time, please join up!

IC: The wooden ship sailed gracefully over the ocean, heading south towards Teirm, the well-known port city. Everyone thought that it would be a smooth, uninterrupted journey. After all, Galbatorix's own soldiers were guarding the ship's bounty. It was a grand treasure indeed, recovered from a secret dragon rider's cache in the Spine. Several pieces were believed to have magical properties, but the crew and guards were not allowed to touch or even look inside the chests. Guards were simply posted by the door and all around the deck. One guard was a magic-user, and not a bad one either. He had been the one to actually acquire the treasure, and had needed all of his skill to do so. He now hovered around the treasure room like a worried dragon mother, anxious to protect his prize. He would be rewarded generously for this by Galbatorix.

Little did the magician, or the crew, or anyone else for that matter know that they were being followed. No one could see the small orange shape in the distance, skimming low along the water. The sunlight glinted off of her fiery scales, making her look like a spark at a distance. Her sky-blue eyes gleamed mischeviously, for she was plotting. She was small, only a little taller than a human, but she always found a way to use her small size to her advantage. And, of course, she had the most powerful weapon possible against a wooden ship: fire.

She was Solarae, the small, fiery dragoness. She was 600 or so years old, but with the attitude of a dragon of less than ten years. She had all the humor, cheerfulness, and recklessness of any youngster trying to prove their worth. But, she wasn't around to prove anything, and that made her all the more dangerous.

Solarae had been tracking a ship for a few weeks now. She had heard of this great treasure located in the Spine, and wanted it for herself, but the magician and his minions had gotten there first. She had been furious upon discovering this, and had tracked them out of the mountains and to the coast, where they had already sailed away. However, with a quick "persuasion" of the shipping record-keeper, Solarae had been able to find out what ship the magician was using to take away her treasure, and where they were headed. And so the chase had begun.

But Solarae did not know that this treasure had recently surfaced in conversations overhearable by others in addition to herself, and she did not know the lengths to which Galbatorix would go to protect it. All she knew was that an adventure was brewing, and she was eager as ever to begin. Solarae grinned and sped along, the water spraying her lightly as she flapped.

OOC: Please don't kill the magician, or steal the treasure, or burn the ship. All in due time, my friends.

OOC: lol don't worry. You just leave it to Solarae for that. (And anyone else who wants to join?)

IC: Solarae caught a whiff of dragon floating past, and she snorted in surprise. What the heck? Who's there? she wondered, and did a little roll in the air. She turned upside-down in flight for a few moments to see where the other dragon was, and saw a big white thing above her. Woah! Dude, you scared me! she cried as she lost her balance (flying upside-down was really tricky) and promptly fell into the water.

She spluttered up rather indignantly and flapped lazily to the dragoness above her. Well hi there! Name's Solarae! I'd uh, usually accentuate that with a little burst of fire around my scales, but I'm kinda damp for that at the moment. Heh. What's up? she said happily, flipping and darting around in an effort to blow-dry her scales.

OOC: lol that's okay, I think you have captured her personality in a unique way that sets her apart from other charries I know.

IC: Solarae flipped around again. She suddenly caught sight of the dragoness's eye changing color. Woah, sweet! Your eye changes color? Oh that's awesome! she cried and flipped around again happily. However, the dragon didn't seem to agree, and attempted to turn away. Unfortunately, she hit a bad air current and nearly tumbled into the water as Solarae had.

Be careful! Gosh! The air can get all weird over the water. Where are you off to anyway? You'd better not be intent on destroying that ship ahead, 'cause that's what I'm going to do, after I- wait, I probably shouldn't mention that, Solarae called, only just catching herself from spilling the beans on the treasure. What if this dragon tried to steal her treasure?! Well, Solarae just couldn't let that happen. This youngster, if she tried to damage the fiery dragoness's loot, would get what was coming to her. But maybe she could be persuaded to join the cause instead. Solarae could probably spare a small morsel of the treasure, or perhaps just give her whatever she wanted from the ship. She sped after the dragoness.

OOC: Whoopsie. I guess I was in a rush.

IC: Solarae roared again at the puny humans below. After Syll had knocked down more of the ship's remains, she let out a blast of fire even more powerful and more deadly than before. It completely engulfed what was left of the ship, and when it peeled away in roiling tendrils, there was nothing left but sinking ashes and some wet wood.

Gah! I saw who it was. He can't have gone far; there must be another ship around here somewhere that he teleported to. Come on, let's go find it! she cried, eager to find where the magician had gone.

OOC: Hey. D'ya guys mind if I join in?

OOC: Yes, it does sound interesting, I would like to join if and when I ever get ungrounded.....

OOC: Course we don't mind! This rp doesn't really have a strict plot, so it doesn't matter when anyone comes in, or who comes in. Though there're two important things: don't get the treasure yet and don't kill the magic-user who took it. That part we're saving for the end.

IC: Solarae rushed on ahead, though she was forced to slow down as they got closer. As eager as she was to attack the ships, she knew that for now it was best to be patient. No, for now we should stick to the plan and wait until almost sunrise. Maybe they moved on purpose, to provoke an attack. Who knows? For now it's best to just keep trailing them, she said wistfully. As true as Solarae knew her words to be, she still longed to set each and every one of those ships ablaze right that very instant. Hey, I'm sorry you weren't able to get any sleep. Next time you can take the first nap, she spoke to Syllwin, feeling a little guilty that she had taken a nap before the young'en, when she could have easily waited.

OOC: Heh ok, here I come.

IC: Gryfendel snorted sea foam out of his nostrils as he shot out of the water, spraying a jet of blue that glistened and sparkled in the light. In his jaws he gripped tightly a dying eel and flew landwards, savoring the taste of his meal to be.

Landing on a couple of large rocks he slowly began to devour his rare catch, licking the dead animal down to the bone. He was blissfully oblivious to his surroundings until something metallic snapped on his back scales. Turning around with unnatural speed for someone so huge, he came face to face with a soldier, totally petrified that his attack didn't even scratch the dragon's scales. Gryfendel stretched out his claw and picked up the squirming soldier by the legs and held him near to his eyes.
Well hello there young one. How are you doing today? He said gently, smiling in a goofy fashion at the obviously inexperienced soldier.

Gryfendel shrugged his massive shoulders as the soldier continued squirming and put him down again to enjoy his meal. It was not long before his powerful eyes noticed two dragons flying near the water surface. Letting out a roar he rushed towards them, his speed unnatural for one so large.

OOC: Pass.

Smiling wryly at the enthusiasm of the firey dragon. Rotating his wings in their sockets he soared upwards into the clouds then lunged in the direction of the frigates. His eyes turned silver as the giant dragon flew over the ships. Looking downwards, he forced a shark away with magic and brought down the wrath of the winds upon the ships, slicing through steel, wood and wards as well as brewing up a storm in the clouds.
I've got his location. He's in the captain's quarters and defensive wards have been wrapped around an object there. I'd bet my head that that's the treasure.
Turning his irises crimson, Gryfendel bared his teeth as he descended from the clouds. Shall I roast them? He looked at Solarae. Or would you want to do that for me?

Chuckling to himself, Gryfendel turned his attention to Solarae. Because I'm old, wise and most of all, old. He smiled then turned upon the ships and broke their sails with the sheer force of the wind under his wings.

OOC: Pass.

OOC: I'm kinda blank >< Not too sure as to what to do now. Unless you don't mind the both of us, or rather, Astral, barging into the room?

IC: Gryfendel laughed out loud. Alright then. Let's see what these guys can do. He pushed himself into the air and looked around for an instant.
A glint of light caught his eye and he very nearly avoided a javelin, twisting his body before slapping the projectile to the sea with his left wing.
'That was magic...' He thought to himself. 'Where is that magic-using-two-legs?' Growling low, he caught the scent of a lerthblaka. Turning around almost one hundred and eighty degrees, he saw a Ra'zac riding it, arm raised to strike.
Gryfendel tensed.
His eyes widened in surprise as the Lerthblaka threw the javelin downwards. Looking sea-ward, the huge dragon caught sight of the javelin in a direct collision course with Syllwin.
He let out a roar and rotated his wings within their sockets for a desperate dash, but then, the Lerthblaka slammed into his side. Despite their massive difference in size, the force of the blow drove the wind out of Gryfendel's lungs, pushing him towards the sea.

OOC: The ship isn't wrecked, Astral. The explosion was pretty isolated to just the cargo hold.

IC: Solarae sprang back up, feeling a little bruised, but her minor injuries gave her no pain as she prepared herself for the fight. Up above, she could hear cannons going off and harpoons shooting from the deck. She knew if she was up there she would be able to hear the constant twang of arrows as well, and the hissing sounds of magical attacks. There was more than one magician on this ship.

The most powerful of them was standing before Solarae now, having recovered at the same time. He gave a dark smile, and stretched out his right hand slightly to the side. Solarae felt the magic rush past her in a powerful wave, and knew that he had cast a powerful ward around the ship. There. Now we can't be interrupted, he said in a low voice, Even by your dragon friends. Solarae knew that simply because she had felt the ward, it was extremely powerful. This magician had magic as strong as the super-powerful shade she had fought with her friend, Paconio. He would be a challenge to beat, but the dragoness was determined. She growled low in her throat and tensed her muscles.

OOC: lol thanks, Astral. 'sokay I read things wrong sometimes too.

Gryfendel turned his head sharply as he heard the explosion. When Syllwin called out to Solarae, he too dived downwards and narrowly dodged an ill aimed magical attack by one of the magi on the ship.
Growling low, he swooped down and sliced clean through her, leaving her dismembered legs on the ship as the upper half of her body slid into the sea, leaving behind a trail of crimson.
It wasn't long before he slammed into a powerful ward. Quickly regaining altitude, his eyes turned silver as he dived for the ward again and grappled with it, buffeting it's mighty shell with blasts of wind while he clawed and bit.
Help me out here Syllwin! No matter how powerful these wards are, they still have a source of energy! He slammed his side into the wards again as he said the last word, smacking aside an archer who was taking aim at Syllwin.

'That is one big magic-shell.' Gryfendel thought to himself wryly.
A look of concern passed over his face when the arrow pierced Syllwin, and he slowly snaked his head past the wound and breathed onto it as his eyes turned golden.
The would stitched back together, leaving behind no trace of an arrow wound. Grinning a the dragoness, he turned his attention to the ward and snarled. I don't know, but the sheer force of a dragon of your size, let alone mine, should be enough to make anyone fall to his feet panting. I think the ward was not created with his energy, but by the energy of the surrounding magicians. Gryfendel pointed to a magi in a circle of about twenty who had fainted.
Which means that if we continue pounding at it, we should be able to bring it down. He paused. But I have a better idea.
His eyes turned green as he focused on one of the magi looking at him. He was about to bring down the wards through the magi but was distracted by a sudden, loud crack sound.
Turning around, he looked past Syllwin to see the ship's starboard banking dangerously towards the water.

Gryfendel looked away in shock as the magician killed all of the people on board. Turning his head round to look at the rapidly sinking ship, he roared and then flew up and crashed onto the shell. He felt it give away a little, and laughed as he saw the magician cringe.
His movements slowed and his mind distracted, Gryfendel started to pound at his mind, sending the will of the ancients crashing down upon walls of adamant.
The massive dragon frowned and clawed at the weakened spot, breathing fire upon it. He almost broke through when a blast of lightning shot out from the magician's fingertips.
Gryfendel snarled and used his own magic and all his energy reserves, combating the magi both mentally and physically. Now you will die... Gryfendel snarled and forced the words into his mind as water through a rock then pressed his advantage.

OOC: He doesn't really have to die now if you don't want to. Feel free to teleport him away.

OOC: Gah! Don't kill my fight! I'm having fun!

OOC: Gah... I had a plan... and the ship's still not broken apart. Just sinking a little. There's a small crack in the bottom. Oh noes!

IC: Solarae was blasted away by the magician as he released a powerful wave of magic. She landed with a huff and stared up angrily at him, wondering where his power came from. Hm. Galbatorix thinks I need assistance? Fine. I guess I can wait to use my true power... he grumbled aloud, gazing around the ship as a few holes appeared in the sides and Solarae's friends were revealed outside. The water was still prevented from leaking in by his present wards.

As he was being distracted by something else, Solarae leaped forward and tackled him to the ground. She knew he would blast her off quickly, but she wanted to see what kind of power he had. Something was wrong. As she landed on him, and just before he flung her away again, she caught sight of something shining in his flapping robes. No! she cried as she was lifted into the air. She twirled her body around and landed neatly on her feet, angered at what she knew the magician now possessed. He had at least one Eldunari, and most likely several more. That much power could create wards enough to stop a group of dragons. The magi laughed, cracking some sharp wood splinters off the ship's sides and shooting them at the orange dragoness. She dodged them all with ease and hissed.

OOC: My bad drac. Short post too.

IC:Phal's cry of anger pierced the air.
Gryfendel turned around and roared loudly. Eldunari! He screeched, making a noise normally not emitted by dragons.
He was angry. Very angry.
I hope you can take on both of us. Gryfendel growled at the human then launched at her, destroying beam and floor as his eyes turned silver.
The behemoth of a dragon pulled into a sharp climb barely a hair's breadth away from the human, then roaring loudly, sent powerful winds crashing down upon her.

OOC: lol thanks guys. You could have defied my plans, but I'm grateful you did not. lol

IC: Solarae engulfed the area around the magi with powerful flames, her anger making her scales start to heat. They were glowing white-hot, and near to bursting into flame. Treacherous creature! How dare you use the Hearts of the fallen?! You shall pay! she cried, her voice coming into his mind in a roar. Her threat was further accentuated when her body caught fire, suddenly and brilliantly. Flames swirled off of her scales and scorched at the air. The magi frowned, taken aback. That is interesting, I admit, but it changes nothing, he said. Solarae could see his teeth clenching tightly, in preparation for some spell. The dragoness made the first move. The flames around her suddenly grew and brightened, changing color in an instant furl of light. They were now blue, tinged with yellow, and Solarae's eyes glowed.

The magi's spell was unleashed, but Solarae created a magic-proof shield of yellow-blue fire around herself, and leaped forward through it when the spell passed. The ship continued to sink, until the deck was overflowed with water and everyone left on board jumped to the nearest one. There were still several other ships in the fleet.

Too late! Gryfendel roared and swept out from under the sea behind the mage. Now you will be roasted alive. He laughed and breathed fire onto her.

OOC: Not too sure what to do now...

OOC: Heheh. Don't worry, RE. Soon we shall be moving on to the next section.

IC: Solarae merely sent Syl a mental grunt in response, too busy with the mage below decks. Her magic fire and his spells conflicted, blocking and parrying each other like physical weapons. Solarae was losing energy quickly because she was in her magic fire state, but she had to inflict some damage on the mage. She had broken some of his wards, but not enough. She couldn't yet get to him.

The magician sent more deadly sharp splinters of wood towards Solarae, but they all burst into flame before reaching her. She hissed and a pulsating yellow-blue line circled her and the magi. No one leaves, she spat, racing towards him again. She collided with him, and both went towards the line. A wall of blue-yellow magic flames rose up and knocked them back in the circle, singeing the magi. The ship, by now, had tipped back, and only the end of the prow was above water.

The attacks from the dragon and magi grew more and more fierce, draining the strength of both. The Eldunari were still being used to keep a ward around the cargo hold and prevent water from getting in. Solarae twisted around her opponent and attempted to sink her teeth into his shoulder, but he dodged out of the way barely in time. Solarae landed and leapt at him again, this time finally getting ahold of him. Her teeth dug into his arm, and he cried out in anger. The magician lashed out with magic, sending Solarae tumbling away.

OOC: Then this is pretty much a pass...

IC: Gryfendel snarled at the female magician almost humorously, as ironic as it may sound. Then, knowing Syllwin had everything under control, went back to lending Sol energy to help her last the fight.

OOC: It's your turn, Astral.

OOC: Do you want to keep this going? I still have a plot idea in mind, if so.

OOC: lol that's okay. I know you've been busy. It was pretty much the idea I've had, though, so you can continue with what we're doing now if you wanna post. I was gonna wrap the fight up quickly anyway.
