Collecting Forum
Well, I've thought of doing this for a while, so here it is. A collecting topic. Basically, if you collect something, whether it's rocks, shells, pokemon cards, etc., this is where to post it. Pictures are fine; like the saying goes: a picture's worth a thousand words! And we'd like to see what you collect too. Nothing is too unusual. I collect weapons. Swords, knives, etc, largely foreign in origin. Stuff my dad's brought back, or I saw someplace. I'll take a bunch of photos and put them on soon. and here they are! A knife my dad got on a mission trip to India something my mom brought back from Thailand Another knife, this one brought back by my Dad from Ethiopia Crossbow from Thailand, brought back by dad. another pic of it My first sword, purchased in the Largest Castle in Austria. "Excalibur" is engraved on the pommel. pic of dragons on the Crosspiece My newest sword, purchased at a Highland Games near where I live. Its a flamberge, which was mentioned in Eragon, when Brom, Eragon, and Jeod were about to raid the castle for information. Now I know what it is! You grip it with on hand on the handle, another on the leather between the two crossguards. This was done for better control. Curvy Blade Newest addition to my armory, the spear from Ethiopia. The tip Sorry for the size. Allows for better viewing, I suppose.

Re: Collecting Forum
You would like it over here. If you go in the old souks (marketplace) you can find some very nice knifes (old fashion). But the best place to get them would be to go in Oman, a neighboring country, where they have a lot more souks where you can find them.

Re: Collecting Forum
nice! I've only got one boomerang, one my friend brought back for me when he went to Australia. I like it though
And louis--I bet I would! I like older weapons anyhow. More authentic and interesting. Bet I could find some good stuff there.

Re: Collecting Forum
I collect Fantasy stuff in general. I like the artwork of Amy Brown, Jessica Galbreth, and Nene Thomas. They mostly paint fairies and I collect anything with their artwork on it: stationary, paintings, books, puzzles, calendars, greetings cards, car air fresheners statues, and jewelry etc... I also have these types of things plus swords/daggers, shields etc... with dragons, wizards, elves etc... on it. Some day I want to get a suit of armor. But that is extremely expensive!!!
Also, I collect books. Mostly Fantasy genre books, but I collect others as well. I like finding hard-to-find/out-of-print books or collectors editions of my favorite books. For instance, I can't believe I spent what I did on a collectors set of The Iliad and The Odessy! But they were absolutely beautiful! They were printed on antiqued paper, the pages were trimmed with gold (fake) and it has leather binding. I also have collectors editions of the complete works of Shakespeare, Edger Allen Poe and Emily Dickenson. Plus collectors editions of other books like Inheritance, Harry Potter etc... It's an addiction. An expensive one at that!

Re: Collecting Forum
I have a pretty huge book collection in my room. I've had all of them for a pretty dang long time now. I'm pretty sure I've read them all, so yeah.
