some are good, some are bad. i have an english permanent sub... she has absolutely NO IDEA what is going on. people make fun of her and she hears it and she laughs or says "thank you" or whatever. she knows like, no english whatsoever and we are always telling her stuff. it's kinda pathetic really!!

but then again i have one teacher sixth hour who absolutely loves me and the three other people i hang out with. he shows us all this crazy stuff he has and always tells us what to study for tests and what not. it's cool.

i definately agree. My math teacher (VanDalen)'s nick name is  VanDevil  -with good reason. My spanish teacher seems to have the idea we need tons (literally) of HW everynight-no matter what."It's good for you, to have a challenge"-she says-"it builds character"- yeah right[/code]

i go to primary school so i wont have teachers for different subjects but has one for a whole year.

last year, we had a teacher who didnt know anything and thought he did. it was a complete disaster.

he gave us HW which only a few people understood and he never explained. during maths lessons, he would teach us things we already knew so we were always bored at school

Well, In China, (I studied there for 3 years), The teachers cater to the students. In the rural areas, the Teachers are even responsible for making the students lunch! I've heard that Americans have to walk from class to class, when I was in China, the teachers walked from class to class xD. The whole point of it all is to get the students prepared for college. It may be behind China's new burst in economy.

Technically, no. The Teachers may cater to the students but its hard there. If any of you know Calculus, You have to learn that in 9th grade. Imagine that. Algebra at 6th grade, Geometry at 7th, math anal at 9th. Most A students in america would be average or failing in China. Amerca's Education system is a joke compared to European and Asian systems.

WOW!!!! Now you guys make me wonder what my students ever thought of me... I guess I am grateful that kids would run into me and come over just to say hello.
I believe teaching is a matter of mutual respect, you respect me and I respect you. I had a job to do, so I tried to do it in ways which made it fun. At least I always kept in mind the things I disliked of my teachers and tried not to do it.
And if there were students who were not succeeding I took it personally. So I would go out of my way to make sure that kids learned.
I LOVED BEING A TEACHER, oh, and I taught one of my three kids and she HATED it because she had no privileges. To me she was another student, no favoritism. It would not have been fair to the other kids.
They were so out of luck, because they went to the same schools in which I taught, and I knew about everything they did or did not do, but I always gave them a chance to be themselves.

Wow, that's so weird! I have a science teacher called Mr. Butler, and a technology teacher called Mr. Atkins, who shaved his head in front of the whole school for charity (his hair was about shoulder length before). lol. weird.

lol, some teachers are good, just very, very few. i would guess your a good one. and if not, it's only because of the stuff you teach.

Just now I'm working on obtaining my Early Childhood certification. That's from new borns to age 8, even though I just LOVE working with the group of 4-6. They are always so eager to learn and it's so much fun to work with kids that age. They aren't as mean and judgemental as the older ones.
