Gender: Girl Affiliation: SF Rebels Dragon: Imnaha	Chapter Preview of book III "Light and Shadow" I just finished reading the promised chapter preview of the ELDEST DE and I am speechless, and disappointed ONLY SIX PAGES LONG! Eragon flys to Helgrind with Roran to rescue Katrina. Galbatorix has disguised Helgrind with an illusion, the three enter the Raz'zac's lair and Saphira is attacked. It only describe very long beaks pecking at her. From what I understood the Raz'zac's and the leatherblakas attacked her.! _________________ ~.~.~.~.~.~

The more I read it, the stronger my conviction. (I need to hold onto something until the next book) OK, I am quoting from the Chapter Preview Excerpt, since the pages are not numbered I cannot reference it properly: "A huge twisted shape hurtled out of the lancet passageway. Eyes black, bulging, rimless. A beak sevenfeet long. Batlike wings. The torso naked, hairless, rippling with muscle. A beak seven feet long. Claws like iron spikes." "Saphira lurched as she tried to evade the Lethrblaka, but to no avail. The creature crashed into her right side with what felt to Eragon like the strength and fury of an avalanche." At my hasty first read I was under the impression that it had been a trap. (Today I was able to read at my ease after I was rested, breakfasted and open-minded) But it seems not. The lethrblakas were not in Helgrind at the time of the arrival of Eragon, Roran and Saphira. Eragon had sensed the presence "one of the slaves and of two people whom he had discovered imprisioned within Helgrind the previous day..." SO I am assuming these two prisoners would be Sloan and Katrina. As the identity of "one of the slaves", I do not know. But why would Eragon know it as a slave and two prisoners? Eragon tried to look towards north to the Palancar Valley, but he did not succeed in seeing it. Once arrived, our heroes make it tower of the mountain, but they did not find an entry, cave kind or split, which can make think of a hiding-place of adapting to Raz'ac. Eragon did not perceive any form of life, until he saw a flower in the mountain, then it starts to wonder how a flower can live and to have light in Helgrind; not long afterwards, Saphira's wing touched some part of the mountain accidentally, but with a great surprise, it seemed to cross the rock. On this point, Eragon thought that the wall was a powerful illusion creates by Galbatorix himself. They then decided to fly inside the illusion which proved to be an immense opening creates for the passage of Lethrblakas. But hardly they entered to inspect this place, that Lethrblaka left nowhere, and without Eragon aware, it attacking them! Eragon! Cried Saphira." There are a couple of words missing there in the last line and my daughter has my LE.
