Who here has a PSP?

I have both a PSP Slim and a DS Lite, and I have to admit that I do enjoy the PSP much, much more. I was a HUGE Nintendo fanboy before I got my PSP, I was such a PSP Hater, but once I realized how awsome it is I can't go back.

Fortunately my PSP is 'hacked' I can run things called homebrew for it. Which means I can run NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, Nintendo 64, Dreamboy, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis and PSOne games on my PSP. I can also download games from the internet, so I pretty much never have to buy a game for the PSP ever again. Downloading games isn't very legal and I don't endorse it, but it is possible.

If you have a PSP Fat, I suggest googling 'Pandora's Battery' if you are computer smart you can unlock your PSP aswell.

But yeh, I love my PSP

it's a pretty easy process, if he get's an older style PSP he can do it himself. If he gets a slim he has to find a friend with an older style PSP.

lol yes, I've been to SF many times on the internet with the PSP, especially at the airport that one time...good times...good times.

There are two kinds of PSP a PSP Phat, and a PSP Slim. The slim comes in many colors, it comes in Silver which comes with Daxter, Family Guy Freaken Sweet Edition, a 1 gb stick. A white one which comes with the same above only instead of Daxter it comes with Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron.

Now the Slim is a better version and a worse version all at the same time. It has 64 MB of RAM instead of 32, although the slim DOES NOT support the 1.5 kernal which is VERY important when it comes to modifying it like I did. Also with 64 MB of Ram it can support 'skype' so when sony releases it you can turn your PSP into a cell phone for free. The slim is much, much lighter and has a brighter LCD, if you do hack your PSP though you can do this with the Phat aswell though. The slim is very fragile, I already ended up breaking my LCD and it's costing me 80 dollars to fix...so be carefull.

Overall, the Slim is the better deal if you are not going to modify it. If you do want to modify it I would go with the older one.

It's nice, the typing stinks though. It's like texting, you have to click each symbol three times or so for each letter.

lol, thanks it's not that hard to do. I didn't do too much of it, the guy who is a genius goes by the name of "dark alex" he is the one who made all of it possible. How he does it I have no idea, all I know how to do is execute what he creates.

Even if you don't hack it it's still a good system. The graphics are great for a handleheld standard, great game selection.

I will warn you that if you want to put movies and music on your PSP you need to buy a Memory Stick. I reccommend a 2 gig or a 4 gig. That will fit about 300 songs and 2 movies on a 2 gig, and a 4 gig will fit about 600 songs and 4 movies.

I do love my DS, but the PSP is far superior.

A four gig stick right now at best buy will cost you 50 bucks, but that's a sale so it won't last long. I need to go and get one like now...

You have to buy the memory stick seperately. You can buy them in 256 MB, 512 MB, 1 gig, 2 gig, 4 gig. And if you have it hacked like me you can use 8 gig sticks aswell.

No there is no difference between colors, just the old style and the new style (phat, and slim)

I hate the touchscreen features of the DS. People say it's innovative. I say it detracts from gameplay.

what are you talking about?! It makes it so much BETTER. I mean you couldn't get the same kind of accuracy with games like Metroid Prime Hunters.

That's one of the very few games in which it actually feels well put together for.

Unfortunately those games are few and far between. Most games the touch screen features feel slopilly thrown in and easy to do without. Overall I enjoy games on the PSP much much more.

I gave up on the hand held stuff when the games started costing 30-40 dollars. I mostly avoid paying that much for console and PC games anyways, and those are more worthwhile in the end for me.

That's why you hack your PSP so you never have to buy another game in your life.

A laptop would be a better investment, but in terms of a multimedia device the PSP is nice because of it's video, music, internet and gaming opportunities.

it's hard enough on an iPhone to go on forums and stuff... on a psp that's unimaginable...

surfing is just as hard... and you have to do that for EVERY POST. think about how often you go back a page to look at something or use keyboard shortcuts or even look through the previous posts. NOW, imagine either not being able to do those without losing what you've already typed, not being able to do that, or that taking 5 times the normal time to do so. THAT'S how hard it is.

actually surfing is fairly easy. Plus you have to remember, it's just internet on the go. It's not a main browser. It's just to get your portable fix, great for checking e-mails and the newspaper online so you know what's going on while on vacation.

with no keyboard, it's rather hard. but I'm talking about doing all of the stuff that you would normally do.

That is all besides the point IMNC the PSP's browser is not made for doing all the things you would normally do on a PC. The Iphone isn't even made for that. It's simply an on the go browser. A light selling feature. Just a good thing to have.

Plus it's more than the DS has. Sure the DS has a browser but you have to pay for it and it's not as good as the PSP's.

I got one awhile ago its so awsome!

I got a slim Sunday and I love it. I like it somewhat better than my DS lite but, I like my DS lite somewhat better than myPSP.

If you can get it hacked, I can guarentee you that it will be the best thing in your life for a loooooooong time. lol

Yes I hacked mine, the benefits are.

I don't have to buy games, I download them.

I can download any NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PS1, GBA, GBA Advance, or N64 game ever created.

I can read books with it.

I can make and install custom themes.

I can install 3rd party applications with it.

i have one but havent played it lately. i didnt know the psp could do all that. can it play the 64 games that required a special cartiridege for the console(not the game). i would love my to be able to do that! id be playing supermario 64!

No cartriges are required, all you have to do is hack your PSP, then buy a memory stick and put them in the correct folders.

I have every PSP there is why you ask? because I work at a place where I get paid 500 hour honestly I am dead serious.

I have a PSP! I'm using it to post this! I think the PSP is great, especially since my mom got a router! It's to bad you can't watch youtube videos on it though.
